“Inuyasha…” Kagome said lightly shaking his shoulder. “Inuyasha wake up, we need to get moving.”
“Why?” Inuyasha groaned as he nuzzled the top of her head peeking open an eye to look around. “It's still dark out, and we couldn't have been sleeping for more then an hour.”
“Someone's coming, I can tell.” Kagome said moving her head away from him. “Now stop drowning yourself in my sent and see if I'm right.”
Inuyasha shrugged as he sat her next to him, and stood up taking in the smells around him. He let out a low growl his head turning back towards the camp. “Your right we need to leave now.”
“Sango, Miroku wake up.” Kagome said loudly as she got up and walked over to the couple. “We need to leave now.”
When they didn't move Inuyasha growled more and walked over to them saying threateningly, “Miroku I'm not going to let Kouga and whoever is with him take my mate from me! I suggest you get up now before I tie you to that tree to throw them off mine, and Kagome's trail!”
Miroku almost jumped when he felt Inuyasha tug on his hair, but then stopped realizing what the wait on his lap was. “I'm up, let me go.”
“Wake Sango up, or carry her I don't care, just move.” Inuyasha growled as he let go of Miroku.
Miroku then woke up Sango, and they quickly moved through the wood in random patterns to throw Kouga and his companion off their sent. After a while they stopped and Inuyasha and Kagome went up to the tops of the trees to see if they could spot Kouga.
“Do you see him?” Inuyasha asked as they looked around.
“No but I can sense him. He's still at the lake…probable because of all the blood me and Sango left there.” Kagome said as she closed her eyes. “But I still don't know who's with him…”
“It's fine and won't matter as soon as we make it to the next town and onto a bus. Once out of that town they can't do anything to have a full man hunt, because it's against the law to put a fine on our heads.” Inuyasha said as they jumped back down to the ground. “We'll just have to worry about anyone the send from the camp. Let's keep going, we're almost to the town, and if there's no bus coming soon, we'll probably have to walk to the next town.”
“Inuyasha we are not all demons here.” Sango said still trying to catch her breath.
“She's right Inuyasha…” Miroku agreed.
Inuyasha sighed as he looked at Kagome. He didn't want to loose her…and being slow was not going to help him keep her in anyway. Also he'd be damned if they didn't keep moving.
“Inuyasha we could carry them.” Kagome said as she moved beside him. “I'll carry Sango, and you can carry Miroku.”
“Only till they are rested, I don't need you to tire yourself out.” Inuyasha said looking at Kagome shaking his head. “Though this way will be faster…”
Kagome smiled and kissed him lightly on the side of the mouth before walking over to Sango to help her on to her back.
He cared about Miroku and Sango, but Kagome was his mate. The rest of his pack was insignificant compared to her. Yes they were his pack. No matter how strange the pack seemed. He wouldn't loose Kagome no matter what though. Kee wouldn't lay a finger on her in anyway, and neither would Kouga, or anyone else who wanted to take her away from him. He would kill them; they wouldn't be able to take their next breath after that offending touch. It was very rare that a full demon lost his control, but when it came to mates they wouldn't recognize anyone but them. Mates and pups were a demon's biggest weaknesses.

After a few minutes they arrived at the small town. Kagome let Sango down and tried to catch her breath, lightly panting. “At least we're here.”
Inuyasha looked at Kagome through the side of his eye after letting Miroku down. She would be fine by the looks of it. “We need to find a bus, and we need to be quiet about where we came from. If anybody asks we were camping and got lost.”
Everyone nodded as they walked through an ally and down the sidewalk, in order to find a small grocery store or a gas station.

They eventually found what they were looking for without a problem, and just made it onto the bus. It reminded Kagome of a school bus, and by the looks of it that's what it used to be. It was now painted blue and silver.
Inuyasha and Kagome sat on one side of the isle and Miroku and Sango sat behind them. They wouldn't reach their destination till the next morning around ten, at the moment it was now sometime around four in the morning.
Inuyasha looked behind him at Miroku and Sango, who had fallen asleep a few minutes after they sat down. They looked so peaceful at the moment. He then looked down at Kagome who still had her eyes half open. “Kagome go to sleep.”
“I'm not tired…” Kagome said quietly. “I'll sleep when we're safe…”
“Sleep for me Kagome…” Inuyasha whispered as he leaned his head on hers. “I'll keep everyone safe, don't worry.”
Kagome yawned and shook her head, even though her eyes slipped closed.
“You guys have had a long night, huh?” the old lady across the isle from him asked.
Inuyasha looked over at her. She only had one eye the other was covered by a patch. “Yeah, it's been a real long night, hell we've all had real long lives.”
“You seem to be real nice kids, even if you've had a long life.” She said with a smile. “And your friend there is a good kid. I met her once I believe, her name is Kagome right?”
“Yeah that's her name.” Inuyasha said with a nod.
“Thought so. Well she was a real good kid. She was younger then, but I won't forget her. She stopped a robber who took my purse, though I had tried to stop her, saying there wasn't anything worth saving in it; she shook her head and said it was the principle of the fact. She brought it back, and she was really hurt. I patched her up and offered for her to stay at my training dojo but she refused.” She said with a small smile.
“I thought that was you Kaede…” Kagome said with a smile her eyes half open as she looked at her.
“Yes it is…” Kaede said smiling at her. “You want to take me up on that offer now?”
Kagome looked up at Inuyasha before saying, “If you wouldn't mind three others…”
“No I don't mind.” Kaede said as she looked at the almost empty bus then back at the young couple. “If you don't mind a little work.”
“No we don't mind.” Inuyasha said shaking his head.
“Then you're all welcome. If you want to sleep I'll wake you up at our stop.”
“Thank you…” Kagome said with a large yawn.
