Chapter 2
“InuYasha good to see you could make it.” Said Lord Yuudai looking at the newly arriving prince.

InuTaisho turned around at the mention of his son and glared at him with suspicion in his eyes when he realized that InuYasha was alone.

“InuYasha where is Sesshoumaru?”

InuYasha hesitated for a minute then took a bug gulp before answering. “He wasn't feeling well.”

“InuYasha that still doesn't tell WHERE he IS.” The young prince could here the anger rising in his fathers' voice and did not know how he was gong to pull covering for Sesshoumaru for maybe months.

InuYasha was never good at lying. You know the old saying that when you lie you touch your face, cannot look anyone in the eye, and your breathing becomes labored.

InuYasha has all those qualities and more. Never once has he not been caught lying b his father. You think mothers know everything. Well, fathers are just as worse, especially when can sense the emotions of another with one look.

“InuYasha...” He started in a threatening voice. “Why do you continue to lie to me when you know you will be caught?”

With wide eyes, InuYasha answered. “I'm not lying father.” He said innocently though he knew it would be to his dismay.

“INUYASHA, WHERE IS YOUR BROTHER?!” InuTaisho roared in a very loud growl.

At this moment, InuYasha knew he had to lie the best lie he had ever lied before, or risk having his midnight patrols cute short because of his brothers big mouth and nosy attitude.

After all, he did not spend almost three months of searching for his fathers' swords Tetsuiga and Tensaiga for nothing. If InuTaisho ever found out that his son was searching for his most treasured possessions he would throw him in the dungeon for a year, and that would be a merciful act. Searching was off limits but if InuYasha touched the blades and InuTaisho found out, he would be banished form the western lands and death would be his penalty for entering the western territory.

Taking a deep breath InuYasha prepared for the inevitable “Father, I'm sorry for lying and I'm sorry for not telling you this sooner.” `Ok, InuYasha doing good. Just keep eye contact and stay calm' “Sesshoumaru left the castle a few minutes ago to the Eastern territory to talk with Lord Akira and Lady Manami about taking Lady Noriko as a mate. He left to proclaim his suite to her. That is why he is not at the ball. He is afraid that another female will steal his heart when it belongs to Lady Noriko.”

InuYasha could not believe how well he said that. Not once, did he stutter and his breathing was calm and collected. InuTaisho did not suspect a thing.

“Well, I do wish that you would have told me sooner my son. However, I am glad you told me nonetheless. I will be sending a letter to Lord Akira recommending Sesshoumaru. I do wish him luck.” He put his hand on InuYasha shoulder. “And you too my son. Chose wisely InuYasha.”

After InuYasha, nodded InuTaisho took his leave of the ball and went to his study to write the letter to Lord Akira.

`SHIT!' InuYasha said in his mind. `I have to stop that letter from getting to Lord Akira… I...' His thoughts were cut off however when a group of himes surrounded the prince of the west and he was stuck. There was nothing he could do but suffer the rest of the night and cursing Sesshoumaru for his luck.

Dawn came and Sesshoumaru was walking to where Isamu lay resting from the night before. The rays of light soon covered the western sky and the mountains were reveled form the darkness of the night.

Isamu was waking up from the morning light and looked to see his master standing before him, his gaze focused on the mountain ahead.

Hearing Isamu wake Sesshoumaru looked at his steed. “So, Isamu think we should head to the mountains?” Isamu nodded his head as if understanding what his master was asking.

After mounting the large horse, Sesshoumaru looked back at the vast plain laid before him. “It should take about a day to get to the edge of the mountains. After that we will need to find a path over the mountains and hopefully end up over looking the Western Sea and be on the border of the Northern Territory.” Looking down at his steed, he continued, “What should do after that?” The horse shook his head and made a sound close to a snort and neigh. In human words that would be translated as “I have no clue? Why do you always ask me these things? I can't do everything you know.”
The Inuyoukai chuckled. “Alright, we'll just decide on we get there.”
The mighty black horse took off into the distance toward to large structures of roc he was so determined to get over.

As Sesshoumaru took off three women looked at his retreating form, then each other.

“So what do you think, Aimi? Is he the one who will break the princesses spell and awaken the kingdom? Is he the one from the prophecy?” the women held such hope in words the one names Aimi did not know how to answer so just said this.

“I can't be certain if he is or not. It is possible but he does not show that he is capable of love. He might be just another selfish prince.”

“ Nevertheless, Aimi, I can feel it. He is different from the others. I can tell that he is destined for something great. We should follow him just in case. I don't know why but I feel some strange power coming from him and his aura is so different.”

“That is true. I can also sense his power but I do not think that we should follow him until we are sure that he is the prince from the prophesy. It might end up to be a waste a precious time.”

The third figure glared at Aimi and spoke. “Aimi, Yumiko is right I can tell he is worth the time to follow and watch closer. Please let's follow him. It will not be in vain.”

Sighing Aimi finally gave in. “Very well, we shall follow him and hopefully learn a little bit more about the prince of the west.”

“He's cute too.” Yumiko giggled.

“He is meant for the princess not you.” The third woman snarled.

Still giggling Yumiko turned to face the woman. “Relax, Mizuki I was only kidding in my own way.”

Mizuki narrowed her eyes. “Sometimes I wonder what goes on in your head.”
Yumikos' giggling got louder and turned into a loud laugh.
~~

Sesshoumaru heard someone laugh from behind and halted his horse to a stop.
He sniffed the air and turned around with a dangerous gleam in his eyes.

“Why are you following me?” he snarled.

Hiding in a tree the three women began to communicate telepathically.

`Aimi what do we do? He knows were here so there's no sense in hiding.'

`I say that we should take on a human form, hide our magical aura, and travel with him.'

`Mizuki, how will we convince him to let three women of whom he has never seen before
travel with him?'

Something mischievous came to mind and Mizuki smirked. `Just follow my lead.'

Mizuki jumped from the cover of the trees while Aimi and Yumiko looked at each other.
Yumiko had a frightened look on her face. `I don't think this is such a good idea.'

`Let's just follow her lead and play along. It might prove to be easier to travel with him while just following him form behind. Besides you're the one who said he was cute.'

`I just like his hair. AND I WAS KIDDING!'

`Whatever, lets go.'

Yumiko and Aimi both jumped to the ground and stared at the handsome inu in front of them as he dismounted his horse and walked toward them.

“Why are you wenches following me?” he snarled once again.
Mizuki answered in a voice that only a young woman in need would use. “My lord we are only three traveling mikos and are being followed by an evil force that we cannot begin to understand. We would be most grateful if you would offer us your protection.”

Sesshoumaru scoffed. “I have no time for concubines.”

Mizukis' eyes turned red and she was about to attack when Aimi put her hand on her shoulder singling for her to relax. Once Mizukis' eyes had gone back to normal Aimi removed her hand and nodded with a smile.

She turned to look at Sesshoumaru before she spoke. “My lord, please we wish to travel with you for more than one reason. Yes, we are being followed and require protection but you seem to be traveling in the same direction as we. It would be much more convenient for us to travel as a group than separately. After all, from what we heard, you are not sure where you are going and we have a more specific destination. You may accompany us to the palace if you wish.”

Narrowing his eyes Sesshoumaru spoke up. “What palace do you speak of? I am not aware of any other palace within the western territory aside from the palace of the western family.”

“My lord it is not a surprise that you have never heard of the Palace of the Sea.”

“Palace of the Sea?” Sesshoumaru repeated. `Where have I heard that before?'

“Yes, my lord. The Palace of the sea is said to be a myth but my sisters and I have reason to believe other wise. You see the princess that sleeps inside is the keeper of great power that can be used for great destruction. We seek this mythical place because we must get to this power before the mysterious figure following us does. We must protect the princess from harm until she ready to face her destiny.”

“I still don't think I can trust you. If this place is real and the power is real how can I be sure you will not turn into the evil you speak of?”

Yumiko decided it was time she got a say in things. “My lord I promise you that we are pure mikos traveling to the palace of sea to prove that the legend of the sleeping princess is true. You have our word that we will not abuse the power we find inside.”

“Very well, you may have my protection until we get to the edge of the western sea. From then on you are on your own.”

“Fair enough my lord, fair enough.”

Turning his back on the three Sesshoumaru walked back to his horse. “Do not slow me down.” He said in an emotionless voice.

All three women turned to face each other while fighting back the urge to giggle.
