Sleeping Beauty

 

 

 

“All hail to the King and Queen and their new born daughter, Princess Kagome!”

 

Everyone in the castle bowed down to the three with their gowns and proper suits each and every person was wearing.

 

It was the year of 1770 in England.

 

The year when the new born daughter of King Higurashi was born on that fateful December. She was born with passionate beauty, her eyes dark as chocolate, soft smooth skin, and long raven hair that made her look even more stunning.

 

Every person in the kingdom the family ruled was invited to see the child with each of them wearing their finest gown. As Kagome lay on her crib sleeping, each person were to drop by with a present, and a greeting. Although she is only several months old, her hair bloomed revealing it's beauty.

 

When everyone finished greeting themselves to the princess, they attended the feast the King hosted. That is until his friend arrived.

 

“Well, well, well… if it isn't King Masafumi.” The voice said coming from behind him.

 

The king turned around recognizing the familiar voice. “Long time no see, right Inu?”

 

He nodded. “Yes my dear friend. So, where is this lovely new born baby girl of yours?”

 

“Ah, her name is Kagome.” He said leading Inu to his daughter where she continued sleeping.

 

“Inuyasha.” Inu called out smiling down at the Kagome. “Come see Princess Kagome, your wife when the future comes.”

 

Before Kagome was born, her father, Masafumi and Inuyasha's father, Inu had made an arranged marriage for the two. To combine the Higurashi Kingdom, and the Taisho Kingdom.

 

Inuyasha left his mother's sight, Izayoi where she was talking to Kagome's mother, Akira. When he made his way to his father, he moved his long black hair out of his eyes to see the baby where Inu was looking at.

 

“My wife? Father! But I am only ten! Do you expect me to marry this baby that is only several months old?”

 

Inu and Masafumi laughed at Inuyasha's statement.

 

“No my dear boy, you will marry my daughter Kagome when she reaches the age of fifteen.” Masafumi said reaching to brush Kagome's hair with his hand.

 

“Bu I do not wish to be married to a girl by arrangement Sir Higurashi!” Inuyasha cried out.

 

“Hmm, well once you see how Kagome will turn out to be… you'll surely want to marry her.” Inu chuckled.

 

“Feh.” Inuyasha spat out walking away with his arms crossed.

 

Inuyasha had long black hair, with brown eyes from his mother.

 

“Masafumi.” Queen Higurashi said softly brushing her long black hair back. “The three sorcerers are here, ready to give Kagome her gift.”

 

“I see. But I do really think those three are very to young to be sorcerers. Inuyasha's age aren`t they?”

 

“Yes. Actually we are the youngest sorcerers of all your highness!” One of the sorcerers said bowing down. “Allow me to introduce selves! We are Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi! Here to deliver your daughter a gift. And a blessing if you don`t mind.”

 

“A blessing?” Izayoi asked walking towards them.

 

“Yes. We travel all around kingdoms to give a new born our blessings that runs in a royal family.” Ayumi said straitening her blue gown.

 

“I see, so on with the blessing!” Izayoi clapped her hands cheerfully at the three young sorcerers. The sorcerers nodded walking towards Kagome.

 

“I, Eri will proudly give Princess Kagome a gift. A gift for Kagome to grow day by day growing much more beautiful than the previous day.” Eri bowed down to the girl as a pink swirl swirled around Kagome slowly granting her gift.

 

“Then I, Ayumi will give Kagome the talent of a voice pure of delicacy, and her singing voice as an angel from the heavens.” Another pink swirl swirled around the princess like before, and then she stepped back allowing Yuka to give the baby her gift.

 

“And I, Yuka will-”

 

“Impudent fools!” Came a low dark voice crashing in from a window.

 

Whoever interrupted Yuka, made a huge entrance.

 

It was Naraku.

 

He had long black hair, with thorns strapped around his blue coat. He was a sorcerer like no other that sold his body to the devil to gain immortality. He became even more rude, arrogant, and evil he killed every single sorcerer that lived. All, upset for Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi. Since they were the youngest, they contained even more power than an ordinary sorcerer. So they joined the forces of good instead of evil. Which made Naraku envious.

 

“How could you give gifts to a mere human!” He scolded the three.

 

“We could do whatever we want Naraku!” Eri shouted. “King Higurashi, take Princess Kagome away from here!”

 

Masafumi ran to his daughter taking a hold of her in his arms as well as Akira.

 

“Leave this castle at once Naraku!” The king shouted.

 

“Well, if it isn't Masafumi.” Naraku chuckled deeply.

 

Before Masafumi and Inu were placed as king, they both knew Naraku very well, until he sold his body away it tore their friendship away. Every time they would run into him, their hearts would race not knowing his next move that could be fatal.

 

“Leave this instant!” Inu shouted pushing Izayoi behind him for protection.

 

Naraku laughed. “Why would I listen to you?”

 

“Father! What's going on?” Inuyasha tugged on his father's coat.

 

“Stay back Inuyasha.” He whispered.

 

“My oh my, does everyone have a child now? Maybe I should give the girl a gift as well.” He laughed staring onto Kagome protected by her father.

 

“Don't you dare Naraku!” Masafumi shouted.

 

“Silence!” Naraku shouted pushing Masafumi and Akira against the wall using great force, it caused the king to drop Kagome on the floor roughly.

 

Kagome woke up from her sleep when she hit the floor she began to cry from the thud.

 

“Kagome!” Her parents shouted. They tried to run after her but Naraku's power was still pushing them against the wall.

 

The guests in the castle that were once feasting happily ran out terrified from the evil sorcerer.

 

“Leave them alone!” Inu shouted.

 

“Not another word!” Naraku shouted pushing Inu and Izayoi on the wall as well upset for Inuyasha, who he thought was week.

 

Inuyasha fell on the floor. “Mother! Father!” He shouted about to run after them but Naraku created a barrier around them surrounding them.

 

“Princess Kagome!” The three young sorcerers shouted running towards her.

 

Naraku quickly ran and grabbed Kagome craggy it made her cry out even more it caught Inuyasha's attention. He looked at Kagome chuckling darkly. “Maybe I should give the girl a gift. Yes, I will give her a gift.”

 

“No!” Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi shouted. They ran straight to Naraku pounding them not using their powers. If they were to use his powers against his, he would make the situation even worse than it was.

 

“I will give her a gift that will happen on her fifteenth birthday… she will prick her finger on a spindle of a spinning wheel and die!” He began to laugh it frightened everyone in the situation.

 

“You sicken me!” Inuyasha shouted punching Naraku in the stomach.

 

Naraku was slammed across the room dropping Kagome onto the floor once more. But before he were to make it slamming on the floor from the punch delivered to him, he chuckled loudly, and darkly, and then disappeared into thin air.

 

Inuyasha quickly ran to Kagome if she was alright as the barrier slowly began to fade.

 

“Inuyasha!” Inu and Izayoi shouted.

 

“Kagome!” Masafumi and Akira cried out.

 

Once they took a hold of their precious daughter, her mother burst into tears.

 

“Masafumi! What will we do? Kagome will die!” Akira cried.

 

He sighed petting his daughters hair next to Inuyasha where his parents were holding him. “I will send out every guard in the castle to destroy every spinning wheel. And even to keep them out of the country until she is officially fifteen.”

 

“My Lord, I still haven't gave Kagome my gift. I was thinking of changing the gift Naraku has made.” Yuka said making her way toward the king.

 

“Can you do so?” Masafumi gasped out.

 

Yuka nodded. “Yes, I will just change her death from the gift.” She slowly walked towards Kagome. “I, Yuka will give Kagome the gift placed on her fifteenth birthday, she will not die when she will be pricked by the spindle… she will only be asleep, and re awaken when she receives her true loves first kiss.” The pink swirl began to swirl around Kagome which was now quiet.

 

“My Lord.” Eri began. “What if us three take care of Kagome until her birthday is over? We can keep her away from Naraku if he tries to do anything on that day. Do not worry My Lord… we live deep in a forest where people do not enter. She will be perfectly safe their.”

 

Akira shook her head furiously. “No!” She cried out. “Not my Kagome!”

 

Masafumi sighed comforting his wife. “We have to, for the sake of our child.”

 

Masafumi pulled Kagome away from her mother slowly handing her to the three sorcerers. Akira pushed herself onto the King's chest sobbing continuously.

 

“Do not worry. We will take care of her.” Ayumi stated. After that, they all nodded and disappeared.

 

“Mother?” Inuyasha said softly.

 

“Yes my sweet prince?”

 

“Will Kagome be alright?”

 

Izayoi hugged her son and kissed his forehead. “Yes… yes she will.”

 

Inuyasha looked over to where the three sorcerers had disappeared. His heart was still pounding non stop from the presence of Naraku. What if he were actually to come once more again? Would the kingdom be prepared? But the answer he thought of, was hope.

 

The next day, King Masafumi and King Inu destroyed the spindles existing in both of their kingdoms for the safety of Kagome. It took a while, but the job got finished.

 

Hope, for the moment was the only answer running in their heads. Hope.

 

 

 

Fourteen In a Half Years Later

 

 

 

“Goodbye Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi! I'm off!” Kagome said skipping across the cottage with a basket on her hands.

 

“Where are you off to Kagome?” Yuka asked in concern.

 

“I'm only going to pick some more lovely roses of course! They look rather dashing do they not?” Kagome sang opening the wooden door.

 

“Alright then, just don't talk to strangers!” Eri shouted waving goodbye along with the others.

 

“Ok!” Kagome shouted twirling deeper into the forest.

 

“She came out to be a lovely girl didn't she?” Ayumi said smiling.

 

It had been fourteen years since that incident with Naraku.

 

The three sorcerers had kept their promise to the king, keeping Kagome safe. In just only several more months, Kagome is set to be aged fifteen. The day that Naraku's gift will be set.

 

Since then, Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi raised Kagome as a proper girl with manners, and generosity. And each day, she would grow more beautiful just like her gift she was given. Including her soft angelic voice.

 

Kagome was absolutely perfect in every way.

 

No doubt about that.

 

Her eyes, her skin, her voice, her hair, and her looks would make any man want her as a fine wife. But for the last few years, she was raised as a common girl. Not a princess, but a common girl. The three girls never told Kagome she was even a princess because they would fear it would lead her into curiosity of her mother, father, and what had happened with Naraku that day.

 

It would make Kagome worry.

 

They even forbade Kagome to leave the forest for her safety. So they kept quiet for a long time. Not leaving the forest, or talking to strangers that might spread the word out to Naraku.

 

As Kagome skipped through the forest she began to sing awakening the animals of her soft, pure voice.

 

The animals began to follow Kagome wherever she went. Everyday Kagome would take a walk collecting roses for the cottage and herself. She grew fond of the gentle animals, she knew each and every single one of them personally.

 

I can think of you all day

That could go on, and on

 

She sang out in the open gathering roses as well. She picked red roses, white roses, yellow roses, and all the colors roses would come int.

 

I think of you during the day and night

I cannot stop, nor stop breathing for you

 

She sat down on the green grass setting the basket of roses aside petting a small deer set on her white and brown dress on her lap.

 

I even had a dream of you and I

Holding hands in each other's grasp

You are addicting to me

Therefore I cannot stop

 

Deep in the forest, there was a boy riding his horse when he heard her singing. Her voice pierced his heart through his chest. Never in his life has he ever heard a voice so angelic like that before.

 

So sweet, and so pure… it was like she even was indeed an angel.

 

If you knew how I felt

I would die their safe in your strong arms

You mean so much to me

I would give up everything for you to be here in my arms

 

He heard the voice again sing once more it made his heart pound crazy. He just has to know where that voice was coming from!

 

“I must find that girl who is singing!” He shouted pulling his horse to where the direction the voice was coming from. He forced his horse to run even faster before he would lose her.

 

I want you here with me

 

Kagome sang from the bottom of her heart it full filled every creature around her and her perfect roses. She began to brush her fingers through a bird's feathers it began to chirp happily.

 

“Oh Mister Bird.” She sighed softly. “I had a dream about that same boy again like in all my other dreams.”

 

From behind Kagome she heard a branch brake she turned around quickly to figure out what made that noise. Her eyes widened to see what she had found. A tall demon staring down at her.

 

“A beautiful voice gone to waste isn't it? Therefore I shall devour you!” It shouted attacking her.

 

“No!” She shrieked loud.

 

From the shriek she gave out, the demon was pulled off of her by with a great deal of force. With just one strike, the demon that attacked her was dead, on the floor. She looked up to see who had saved her and found brown eyes staring down at her.

 

“W-Who are you?” She stuttered.

 

“Inuyasha.” He replied.
