Kagome fought down a laugh as Kouga disappeared in a whirlwind of dust. Sesshoumaru had barely restrained himself from throttling the wolf and she had enjoyed every second of it immensely. Between the taiyoukai's displays of suitability and his desperate attempts to gain her attention, she was rapidly finding it difficult to stick to her guns and stay away from him.

Really, if he was willing to make a fool of himself to win her over; that had to mean he wanted something serious, right? She was sorely tempted to come out and ask him what exactly he had in mind. No one had ever put so much effort into pursuing her, not even Kouga, who was as persistent as they came. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to encourage him just a little bit. She was dying to tease him over his recent behavior and, after some thought; she decided to give it a shot. She didn't want him to decide she was a lost cause and give up. This was far too much fun.

"What has your fur all ruffled?" Kagome asked Sesshoumaru in that flirtatious tone he'd come to adore.

The taiyoukai was stunned for a moment. Was she really talking to him like that after all this time? Had he finally succeeded in catching her eye once more?

When he failed to answer, the miko laughed, a sultry sound that sent shivers down his spine. "Feeling territorial?"

Sesshoumaru released a purring growl and approached. Now was his chance.
