Sango sighed, her back pressed to the tree that stood just on the outskirts of Kaede's village, as she softly stroked Kirara's head, who laid in the crook of her crossed arms, as she stared up into the night sky. The moon, shone brightly in the cloudless black night, with sprinkles of stars surrounding it. A soft warm breeze rustled the leaves of the tree and swayed the grass of the meadow.
"A lovely night, isn't it, Kirara?" Sango asked, as she looked down to her neko friend.
Kirara responded with a soft mew and rubbed her head more into the palm that stroked her. "I hope that we can enjoy more nights like this one...” Sango spoke softly.
“In order to do that, we need to end Naraku's reign over all of this… this… chaos that he's created. I want to save everyone from that vile creature, Naraku's, plots and trickery, especially Kohaku!” She sighed. “I'm simply tired of all the fighting with him and his minions! I just want to get on with my life, you know?”
She continued to pour out her thoughts to her silent friend. “Maybe settle down in this village or even go back to our village and start rebuilding." She pulled the small cat youkai up and hugged her gently. "I'm just ready for this quest to be over with… because I'm tired of all the suffering and heartache that has come from all of Naraku's plots and his desire to get the Shikon no Tama complete for himself.” She rubbed her cheek on Kirara's head, a single tear rolled from her eye. “I'm just so tired… of it all."
Kirara mewed softly in response.
“Everyone thinks I'm so strong, but I'm not!” she spoke harshly, as more tears fell. “I just want the same thing anyone wants, to start a family and live a normal life. But I can't have that until I free Kohaku and avenge our village!”
Sango inhaled slowly, rubbed her eyes of tears and shook her head gently to regain her bearings. "Thank you for being such a good listener and friend, Kirara.” She gave a watery smile down to her friend. “I guess we should head back to Kaede's hut... before the others come out… looking for us?"
Kirara mewed in response as they headed back into the village… back to their friends and their quest.
