Nervously, Kagome twisted the ring that rested on her left hand.
Forever-the word is so permanent. And in two weeks, she would forever tie
her soul to another's.

Her dark apartment was so quiet and lonely to her. Once again, she was
awake at an insane hour of the night because of a disturbing dream. It was always
the same haunting dream, and they started right around the time Hojo had popped the
question. Of course, they were all about Hojo, what else would they be
about?

`I don't get it; I thought that I was all right now, that I could
finally live a normal life." Kagome thought, but here she was. Miserable
and feeling more lonely than ever in her tiny apartment at 3:18 in
the morning.

Slowly, she swung her legs off her bed and padded to the
kitchen. Sighing, she poured herself a glass of water and was heading
back to her bedroom when a picture hanging in the hallway
stopped her.

A picture in front of the God Tree. She had gotten a new camera for Christmas that year, and had wanted to catch the people she cared about most on film. The picture wasn't of the best quality, but it
captured the group's personality perfectly.

Sango's hand was in the Miroku-bashing-position while the monk
shamelessly grinned and groped the poor exterminators butt,
blissfully unaware of the beating he was about to receive.

Kagome was yelling at a certain hanyou for not leaving his
tree to take a picture, and Inuyasha was looking up at her from his
homemade crater with a dirty scowling face.

Shippou was the only one actually smiling at the camera from
his perch in the basket on Kagome's bike. He was waving with one
sticky paw while the other one was wrapped around a lolli-pop.

"I miss you all so much," Kagome choked and padded to her
cozy living room. Drawing her legs beneath her, Kagome sat on the
couch and began to run through the events of her dream.

The dream itself was starting to feel so real. She would wake up and
touch her lips, almost able to swear he had kissed her.
Every little girl had dreams of her wedding, and Kagome was no
exception, especially with her's being so close.

The wind blew her wedding kimono about her ankles as Kagome took
small steps towards the god tree. Blossoms floated lazily around her,
carrying their sweet scent over the wedding guests. Souta was
fidgeting in an uncomfortable suit, while her mother looked on teary-
eyed. Her grandfather was standing before the god Tree, waiting to proudly perform the ceremony.
Finally Kagome stopped and turned to her groom. But it wasn't Hojo.
She was pretty sure her fiancé didn't own a pair of red Fire Rat
robes.

Inuyasha took her hands in his and whispered huskily "You're mine koi,
my mate."

And when he kissed her, all Kagome knew was happiness.

"Its not fair…." Kagome sobbed on her couch, tears beginning to soak into the cushions. `How can I marry
Hojo when I still love Inuyasha?"
