Chapter 1: Thoughts

 

She sat over looking the cliff wondering where her life was going. Was she going to stay here or go back to her era? At the end would there be anything to stay here for. The first thing that can to her mind was `Inuyasha'. Kagome watched as the waves of the sea break against the rocky walls of the cliffs thing `Would Inuyasha want me to stay. No of course not I am just a shard detector to him noting else. Any way he most likely will go after Kikyo once Naraku was dead. The only other thing that would keep me here is Sango, Miroku and Shippo, but Sango and Miroku are most likely marry and get on with there lives and Shippo was growing up soon he wouldn't need me.' Kagome would have usually cried, but for some reason no tears came. `I am just wallowing in my own self pity. Of course I have to go back to my time I don't belong here I never did and I never will. Why am I acting this way I've know it from the start that I had to go back.' Suddenly Kagome felt a demonic aura behind her and new that she wasn't alone…

At a small clearing in a forest the Inu-gang had set up camp. Miroku was lying on the ground unconscious because Sango had just beaten him over the head with her Hiraikostu for groping her and Shippo had found a box of candy in Kagome back pack and was shoving them down his mouth. Kagome had told them that she was going for a walk and would be back before night fall. They all knew the reason why because it had happened a lot of times. Once again Inuyasha had see Kikyo's soul catchers and had gone running after them and would not be back for a few hours. When this happened Kagome would get up set, but they noticed that something was different this time. Yes you could tell Kagome was sad, but when they looked in her eyes they didn't see the usually tear glazed eyes. This time when they looked into her eyes all they saw was a dead cold blank sight. No emotion could be seen in their depths. The three realized that something in Kagome had snapped and change was coming very soon.

Around sunset Inuyasha came running back to the camp. First thing he noticed that Kagome was missing. When the Inu-gang looked up they saw Inuyasha standing at the side of the camp. This had happened so many times that just after a while they had gotten used to and today they knew that some thing with Kagome had changed so they just looked at him for a second then went back to what they were doing. When Inuyasha saw them look up he knew that something was different. Inuyasha walked up to Sango and asked “Hey Sango where's Kagome she should be here. Where the hell is the wench”? When Sango heard Inuyasha asked where Kagome was her blood boiled. She looked up at Inuyasha. When Inuyasha saw the cold fury in Sango eyes, he wondered `What the hell is wrong with her. I guess I will have to ask Miroku'. Inuyasha walked over to Miroku for answers “Miroku where has Kagome gone.” Miroku knew that Inuyasha wouldn't stop asking until he gave him an answer so he simply said “Kagome went for a walk and said that she would be back before nightfall”. Inuyasha blood boiled and he thought `How dare that wench go any where without asking me. I am going to go find that bitch and bring her back here one way or another.' Inuyasha came back to reality “What the hell and you let her go when you know that there are youkia and gods know what out there”. Miroku sighed and thought to himself `I knew this was going to happen.' Looking straight at Inuyasha Miroku said “Yes I know about youkai, but Inuyasha you have to realise that Kagome is a not a little girl and you know as well as I that her powers are increased over the years”. Inuyasha had had enough with chitter chatter and was going to find her. Inuyasha sniffed the air search for her scent. After about a minute finally caught whiff of Jasmine and Water Lilly in the air and ran as fast as he could in that direction. After about ten minute of running had thought `Damn how far has she gone. It doesn't matter when I find her she is going to be taught a lesson or to for making me worry'. All of a sudden came to a halt because there sitting on the cliff was Kagome. He slowly walked his way toward her.

Kagome looked over her shoulder to see a red figure with silver hair walking her way. The first thing Kagome thought was `Damn. Of all times why does he have to show up now? I just want to be alone'. Kagome was brought back to reality by Inuyasha yelling. Inuyasha kept walking up to her. When she turned away from him he snapped. He yelled “Bitch how dare you leave the camp without my permission. You know that it is dangerous out here. Wench look at me when I am talking to you!” Kagome heard every word Inuyasha said, but she didn't care it didn't change how she felt. Kagome stood up from her spot of the cliff and said “Isn't the view beautiful. Just make me wish I could stay here forever”. Inuyasha furious that Kagome hadn't answered his question so he stomped over to her and pulled her up by the arm and held shoulders and yelled “Wench answer my question”. Kagome furious at Inuyasha even more talking to her as if she we property and yelled “Inuyasha I am not your property tell what to do and what not to do. I am my own person. Have you ever thought I might not want to answer you question to start with” and with that she pulled her shoulders out of his grasp. That when Inuyasha saw it the cold dead look in Kagome's eyes. Kagome had started walking away from Inuyasha heading back to camp. She left Inuyasha stunned standing on the cliff. Inuyasha was shock at what he saw in her eyes and thought `What has happened to her'.

Inuyasha and Kagome had been avoid each other for the whole trip back ti Kaede's village. The trip had been silent most of the time. When they reached the village Miroku and Shippo went around the huts in the village to help, Sango had flew back to the demon slayers village to repair her Hiraikostu and Inuyasha had ran into the forest. Kagome had stayed at the Kaede's hut help and thought to herself `Lately I can feel power in me, but it seems that I can't reach it. It is out of my reach. I wonder if Kaede has any information'. Kagome walked over to Kaede who was cooking the stew of the fire. She knelt down in front of Kaede and asked “Kaede I have a few questions to ask”. Kaede looked up at Kagome and said “If ye have questions that you would like me to answer ask away”. Kagome looked straight at simply said “Lately I have been feeling a power in me that is dormant and it seems that I can't reach it. Why?” The first thought that came to Kaede's mind `So it is finally happening. I was wondering when it was going to happen' Kaede looked at Kagome and said “Kagome I am not going to lie to ye. Over the years I have noticed something in ye that I have never seen. Now listen carefully ye are the reincarnation of Kikyo, but ye also are the reincarnation of some else as well”. The information was all most a little over whelming for Kagome and the only thing she could say was “Who?” Kaede could see the distress in the girl's eyes and she told Kagome what she wanted to know “Midoriko. Now I know that her soul is in the jewel, but ye were born with the jewel so ye have her soul in ye. The reason that ye can't reach the power is because Kikyo's soul was in ye first. The only way to access the power is by letting go of Kikyo's soul.” Kagome first thoughts were `Letting go of her soul. Would that mean that Kikyo would become human? If I give it her will I die? Inuyasha and Kikyo could be together and he would be happy'. Kagome asked Kaede “If I give Kikyo her soul would she become human and would I die?” Kaede was a little shocked by her question but was willing to answer it “Yes and no. Kikyo would be her self again but not flesh because she is still made from bone and dirt. That time ye found a girl like Kikyo. Do ye remember that she had all her soul, but still wasn't human. No you wouldn't die, but why do you ask”. Kagome's reply was “Because I think that I am going to give back her soul”…..

 

A/N: Ooo. I wonder what will happen to Kagome. Is she really willing to give up her soul to make Inuyasha read the next chapter and fine out? Bye from Night Dreamer
