Something Beautiful

I saw something beautiful tonight.

And it shot across the sky.

I tried to reach out to it, to feel the cosmic dust on my fingertips.

But all I caught was the nighttime air.

I have never known what I was looking for.

I was given a chance to shine, I was given a gift too heavy to carry.

Was I looking too far ahead?

Or too far behind?

I fell into wanderlust, my feet running forward.

My dreams haunted me. My memories clung to me.

And in passing, I thought I saw you.

But I couldn’t stop running.

Had to keep running.

I saw something beautiful tonight.

And it ran through the forest at breakneck speed.

I tried to run alongside horseflesh,

But I tumbled to the wet ground…dirt on my knees.

I was watching you.

Watching you slip in and out of my vision.

And I thought that maybe….maybe I somehow knew you.

But I kept running.

I was mining for diamonds, I was diving for pearls.

I ran to the edge of nothing and saw endless black.

You watched from the other side of this abyss

And I saw you.

I saw something beautiful tonight.

And it lays beside me, waves of white hair upon dark pillows.

He smiled and he shut his eyes.

And I reached out to touch him……..

And he was still there.

Well, there’s my second Sessh/Kagura poem. I hope you all like it a lot. I don’t know what’s gotten into me as of lately with being all poetic and stuff. shrugs I haven’t written poetry in a long time.
