Sengoku jidai

`Kagome…I don't remember anything that happened while I was transformed. It wasn't LIKE that before. The next time I change…I might use these talons, Kagome…to tear even YOU apart.'

 

 

 

Setting: Sango, Miroku, Shippou, and Kirara all went to find an herb to help speed the healing process for Miroku's burns. Kagome and Inuyasha choose to stay behind. Kagome is aiding Inuyasha's emotional needs. They are staying in an old hut full of empty boxes and crates.

Inuyasha is sitting outside staring at the sky while Kagome stays inside watching Inuyasha in his state of depression.

 

Kagome sighs as she looks out at Inuyasha though the opening in the door. Inuyasha looks down to strain his eyes from looking at the sky and Kagome slowly walks over to him. She sits to his left and attempts to reach a hand out to grab his shoulder but in return, Inuyasha shifts his weight to avoid her hand. Kagome slowly pulls back and stares through Inuyasha's hair to try to catch a glimpse of his face.

“Please Inuyasha. I'm always here for you. Why won't you tell me what you're thinking?”

Inuyasha looks at Kagome with a sour face. “You wouldn't care for what I think.”

Kagome looks down at her lap and hides her face though her hair. “That is not true. I stay by you're side because I care, and if I didn't care I would have left here, and forgotten about you. But I could never forget about you Inuyasha.” Kagome blushes deep shades of red and keeps her face hidden.

Inuyasha stares out into space trying to avoid contact with Kagome but gives in and wraps his arm around her shoulder. A dark cloud, nearly full black, appears in the sky.

Kagome looks up at the shadowy sky. “Inuyasha…” she starts to say, laying her head on his shoulder. “ What is it like? When you turn…”gulp, “into your demon state?”

Inuyasha thinks quietly to himself. `Why must she ask such a question?' He waits a wile longer, thinking of the right thing to say. “Like…I gain a large amount of power. So great that it overwhelms my body and pours out, like…” he stops again, “… I don't know.”

Kagome stares at his hand resting on his leg. `He seems to be hiding something from me.'

Inuyasha sits up straighter and eventually stands. “I'll be right back.” He heads off into the direction of the small hutt.
