Part 1

DEEP IN THE BITTER COLD OF THE NORTHERN AREA OF THE WESTERN LANDS

Is where you find our group of adventures and one of not. A water dragon that guarded the Lliasic Lake of time owned 10 shards of the jewel. The battle started with sesshoumaru coming upon it by sensing its powers an started the attack. Then sometime later, the inu-crew came upon the battle.

The brothers agreed on a temporary truce. This is now where we stand.

Every attack was avoided, nothing was working except for kagomes arrows but they did only minor damage to the massive beast.

“WE CANT FIGHT FOREVER, NOTHING IS WORKING “sango yelled to anyone that had ears

“What are you talking about” inuyasha said looking over his shoulder at the group behind him slightly growling at his brother while sesshoumaru just barred his fangs.

“Dragon of the lake I command thee to come fourth” kagome yelled an at once all the water attacks and shields came down around the beast, everyone was too stunned to even attack… The beast stood at least 10 story’s high. Its sleek dark blue scaly body was glistened in water as its eyes caught onto kagomes.

Not having the nerve to keep the glare kagome turned her head to her friends. Cool air snorted from the beasts’ nostrils like it was amused. A single tear fell from kagomes eyes as she turned back to the beast. She wanted to see this beast scared so summoning all her miko she tapped into her spirt self.

‘Help me out’

A bright white light shot from the ground under kagome straight up covering her head. A loud blast was heard an in the place where kagome stood, stood a woman with medium length snow-white hair. The woman turned her head to the group an white eyes reflected on them. Sango an shippo where not scared for they knew this to be kagomes spirit.

Turning her attention back to the beast she walked to the edge of the cliff. Taking a breathe she faced the dragon an looked it strait in the eye with no fear. Then she beckoned theses words.

“Beast of the lake I command thee to change to thy water spirit form”

Her friends looked on amazed an speechless at the woman who was face to face with the dragon. Since the tear fell, sesshoumau had left. He hid in the shadows of a tree near by. He knew she would die, but a rebirth was possible. He had only seen one rebirth his own an he was not about to miss this one.

‘Only the most powerful of people can control an sire orders to a dragon, let alone be rebirth afterwards.’ he thought

Kagome looked into the water beasts eyes with such fire in her own it was clear to the beast that its life was in danger. Calming herself she looked over the edge watching a few rocks fall into the lake, she didn’t look back as she jumped of the cliff only to be caught by water of the dragon which was drawing her into its see threw body till she was in the middle of the beast. Her group looked on horriedfied at was about to happen. In the shadows, the quiet lord looked on amazed at her raw power but he knew this was not the full extent of it.

Clearing her mind of thought, she concentrated on the dark room of her mind pulling at the blue an black fire in the middle, which was her essence. While on the outside of her mind on both sides of the beast tall cyclones of black flames came shooting up from the earth as blue flame spiraled around the cyclone of flames. Moving her hands to direct the flames, both bonded together to make a large cyclone like twister. Moving her hands the beast was engulfed by the flames and screams of agony erupted from the beasts’ mouth as kagome rose to the head of the beast where the 10 shards were located at. The area around the shards was tainted with an evil aura.

‘No wonder it attacking, the dragon of the lake is saqpost to be peaceful ‘kagome thought.

As much as she wanted to save, the creature she couldn’t it would have to be slain and the only way was the way she was doing it now. Once more reaching out into her blank mind for power. Pink an black energy collided with the black an red one of the dragon. More screams of agony came from the beast as it swayed from side to side. Knowing her friends would be in danger if the beast were to fall on land a barrier formed around the lake. Once more engaged with the battle the power of the evil was equal to her own. Using all the strength she had she sent a pink an black ball of miko and raw power at the barrier. When it made contact with the barrier it started to chip an crake as crackle energy escape. She reached out to grab the shards an as she did the barrier exploded with all 10 shards in hand sent her flying. The screams of agony an pain were short lived when the beast became nothing more. The blast had took all the breathe from her as the last of her breaths escape her rosy lips.

Time its self stopped as all eyes saw death at her door. Frantically inuyasha tried to break the barrier with tesiagia but not even wind scare broke it. The hands of heaven reached out a caught the fallen angle slowly leading her to the lake till her body was in the lake then they disappeared.

Laying upon the lake she slowly drifted as the lake drained itself. As that was happening the group noticed at the dry lake bottom an in caverns in the cliffs. As kagome’s body laid motionless a single cat sat at her foot. The Smokey grew feline walked on top of her. Black and pink electricity formed from kagomes head to her feet as the cat stopped right above her face. The cat leaned forward till its eyes were lined with her ocean brown ones. A white mist formed from the cat’s mouth an traveled to kagomes then the cat disappeared. Kagomes’ eyes dilated into two slits like cat eyes. In seconds she jumped to her feet water splashing everywhere and the barrier fell. Still sitting she caught inuyasha’s eyes. With the barrier down he jumped down to the reemerging lake, grabbed kagome an hoped back to the top where he layed her down on the grass while she just looked to the moon.

“Kagome, kagome can you hear me, how many fingers am I holding up” sango said standing above her.

“3 yes I’m fine an can hear you just fine too, now would you be so kind an get out of my face “kagome said getting on her feet. Looking around a look of irritation spread across her face. Moving her head she looked at each one of them.

“ will you back up off me an give me some space, god!” kagome yelled everyone taking a step back looking confused when there were at least 5 feet away from her.

“Ah mom are you okay “shippo asked. Since he had a little growth spurt he stood at her knees an had to settle for a hug around the waist.

“Yeah I’m good, look at the sky its late we should set camp up here… hey inuyasha where is your brother you would think he would at least stay to see if we all died or something” kagome said an inuyasha just shrugged. Kagome grabbed her things. Everyone else just shrugged and went about there business sango reluctantly though.

Standing in the shadows slightly cringing at her words looked at her once more before he turned an started walking towards his home with one last thought on his mind. ‘Amazing ‘.

Later on after everyone had eaten sango took kagome aside to talk with her.

“Do you know what happen to you “sango asked looking her over

“I know, I died, wasn’t like it was the first time” kagome said nochantly an sango did a classic anmie style faint.

“AH…NOT…THE…FIRST…TIME!” ; sango all but yelled

“No I was a still birth; I died when I was 4 in a car accident, 12 I was struck by lightning thunder an lightning flashes as she says that. Haha I can see it now burnt to a crisp kagome on a bed of turf. An when I fell down the well I broke my neck” kagome said with no hint of emotion

“What the hell are you the invincible bunny or something you must have a special angle over your head” sango said, kagome just batted her thick black eyelashes and a grin spread across her face.

“I guess so” kagome said thankful for another day

“Yeah lucky you….. Kagome what happen to your eyes?” sango asked looking into grayish blue eyes instead of honey brown an as if that wasn’t enough they were slits like cats.

Just then kilala started to purr more an moved closer to kagome.

“I’m not sure, but kilala seems to like it” kagome said patting the small felines head

Mean while

In the northern territory in his castle naraku sat in his room plotting ways to get the jewel. He looked to his side at the dark corner of his room and a twisted smile appeared on his face.

“Kikyo, I have a job for you”

Good, bad or other I’m still pissed that I couldn’t update my other story an as I mentioned in the authors note my cousin didn’t even save it on her computer so I’ll have to start over by memory. It had been a few weeks since the lake fiasco. Kagome had become a little more rebellious a voiced her mind when she felt like this. This seemed to turn one person on in particular to get to know her more. All in all, if you asked me she was finally being herself but the deep dark secret inside still kept eating at her whenever eyes would close all she could see were all those faces. It was her fault for there death but was nothing she could do about it, but under the surface there was always that one eerie question. ‘What if it happens again ‘

However, putting that aside tonight was her night to shine the one night every kid in high school hoped they made it to. If you guessed graduation then you get 1,000,000 bucks yeah right!

“ even though she missed more than half of the school year she brought her grade up I class, showed up to school on exam days an passed with flying colors, her gpa is a record high 3.9

If I do not get to say bye to you know there is still a chance because I am going to the Hoobastank concert tonight. You see they had been planning to go to the hoobastank concert for a few weeks now. Sighing in frustration, she turned away from thee well.

“Damned kagome where are you” sango said back to the well so she could not see kagome sitting there legs crossed with a smirk on her face.

“Missed me “kagome finally said

“Kagome “sango said turning around to see her

“How long have you been there” sango asked

“Oh I just got here” kagome said

“Good can we go, I’m pissed of at monk” sango said

“What he does grope you again, if that was me I would take him aside an ask if wants a relationship instead of hitting him over the head all the time…. we can make exceptions for when he does it to others” kagome said with a wicked smile at the deep tomato blush on sangos’ face.

“I don’t like that perverted monk” sango yelled

“ Surrrre an I love naraku” kagome said with pure disguest in her voice

" kikyo what are you doing here" inuyahsa asked

He looked her over to see many bruises on her neck and arms.

It was around nine at night when they got to the hoobastank concert at Tenjin Central Park. The park was crowded with people of the youth all under 19. It was a true mix of people. Punk rockers, some Goths out at there true time an others who was here just to be here. To put a category on what kagome an sango were wearing was difficult once you got to know them. Kagomes’ outfit: Emily the strange nightmare tee, Emily the strange bewares pants, with a strange kitty wristband. With black converses’/ sangos’ outfit: a all-American rejects t-shirt green an black, a pair of blue jeans with red Stitching, black an green star cap an a green wristband.

Hoobastank had just started the show off with ‘pieces’.

“ this is so fun, will there be fire works” sango yelled over the music there in the 3 row well line of people from the stage

“ I don’t know maybe, I hope so” kagome said an as if they were listening to only here an explosion of light lite up the dark night sky.

“ alright “ sango yelled looking up into the sky

the next morning

The time was seven-thirty in the morning when the alarm clock went off in kagomes room.

Two very wasted woman groaned an threw pillows at the clock when her mom walked into the room.

“Wake up you two” ms.H said

“Ugh leave us alone” kagome moaned out

“Up now” ms.H yelled both girls moaned but woke up

“ now that I have your attention I’ll be leaving at noon for a trip to china on business so I’m saying bye now since I know the both of you will sleep in” ms.H said an both girls nodded there heads

“Good souta will be with a friend an grandpa will be with me,” msH said

“Okay mom love ya bye” was all kagome said as her head hit the pillow and sleep took both women once more. Anna mom just shook her head quietly closing the door.

Midnight with the girls

The girls had slept most of the day until about six in the evening. They were now enjoying some pizza hut pizza and coke.

“So when we get back your saying I should just wear the clothes I wear now” kagome asked

“Yeah I know you hate kimono’s an your night in school anymore so just pack all your punk cloths an wear that” sango said

“Do you know how much I’ll stand out “kagome said she could see it now? People staring an pointing at her.

“Well simple shirts an a pair of jeans since its winter, or you could wear a short kimono an a pair of jeans an boots” sango said turning up the boom box ghost of you/ mcr

“Maybe….yeah I’ll wear the shirt an jeans because I hate wearing kimono’s even the short ones…hey that’s the last slice” kagome said watching as sango took the last slice of cheese pizza.

“Oh well have some cina-sticks “sango said handing her the box

“Meany” kagome said dipping her cini-stick in the frosting

The next day at 10

“Everything is locked up right” kagome asked

“Yeah I checked twice” sango said hoisting up her new bag

“Okay then were leaving in 5 I have to go to the bathroom” kagome said walking to the bathroom an sango sighed.

After her little bathroom brake the girls walked out to the back yard locking the door behind them.

Walking to the door of the well house, she took in the smell of pine an cherry blossom. Taking each other’s hand both girls jumped down the well letting the magic of time take them back.

Past

To say inuyasha was about to get beat was an under statement. In the past, it was around six and the sun was setting. Four people an if you count kilala five people looked on at him as if he had 500 heads or something. Wouldn’t you if kikyo standing next to you with the fakest look of happiness on her face. She was just there to screw everything up an everyone except inuyasha knew it.

“Would ya stop looking at me like that, kikyo is joining the group” inuyasha repeated

“Are you fucking nuts….that… thing cant join “sango yelled her fist clenched ready to fight?

Letting her mind drift she came back to the fiasco at the lake. Her mind drifted to an unexpected place as she imagined the demon lord wet with his cloths sticking to his fell developed, muscular body I can imagining it an I’m so drooling.

She reminced on good times she had with her long time love and began to weep.

In the trees

A little ways off from the group kikyo sat infont of a little stream with rocks out lining her place. She was in deep thought when she felt an intruder in her mind. Letting the person in they started to talk.

‘Are you in the group?’

‘Yes ‘was her reply

‘Good, do not fail me kikyo’ he said an vanished

Kikyo was pissed.

‘You wait naraku I’ll kill you when were finished and the reincarnation will be delt with. The jewel will be mine and I’ll have e inuyasha all to myself.’ kikyo thought bitterly as she stood an walked off into the darkness of the woods to the camp.

To say that it was a calm atmosphere around our travelers as they left the next morning was a understatement. The air was soooo thick with treason and disgust towards the undead miko that you could probably take a bit of the air. The group had heard a rumor of a shard being in the western lands an kagome confirmed it. Everyone was weary about going into the west again. The last time they saw sesshoumaru was when they were fighting along side by side but the inu changed his mind so much about people it was hard to say if it was safe or not to step foot into the western lands.

3 days later

They went ahead an packed up heading of to the west waiting for who knows what.

About 3 hours ago they stepped foot into his lands but there was no attack even though inuyasha kept growling he complain that it smell too much like his brother an kagome retorted with.

“Well duh wouldn’t it smell just like you if you patrolled your lands everyday to keep them in check?”

Unfourtanltly inuyasha answered the question with his own.

“I know that bitch,” he growled out an that earned him 3 sits an kagome leaning over in the crater that was about 4 ft under, ‘so damn close to 6 I wish to sit him more’ she thought

Night was starting to fall and the sky turned from sunny to pinkish red then it was the beginning of the moons awakening. Camp was set up an ramen was on the fire. However, tonight was different, kagome got a pull. Not the pull of the jewel, no, it was powerful, someone wanted to talk to her an now but who it was, was a mystery in its own.

“ I’m going for a walk…DO NOT FOLLOW ME “ kagome warned taking her bow an arrows along with her black bag she walked out into the wood no even waiting for inuyasha to say anything.

Walking aimlessly around in the woods after she lost the pull. She walked in a dazed an in a abyss of inner pain as she had been for days now. The outline of the moon that was hidden in the shadows of the clouds was now visible along with a few stars; he sky was the color of royal blue just like an sea of blue. Unknown to her on this night she was followed by another.

He stood in the shadows taking in her mesmerizing features. The light from the moon shown down on her giving her a goddess affect. Dark ebony hair darker than midnight blew in the breeze. Her dark colored clothing made her look like a shadow in the light. Dark yet in the light. He long ago admitted he had strong aspiration for her ever since the second meeting. Kagome stopped dead in her tracks an knocked a arrow to her bow. Ready to fire at any given time she looked around an looked confused when nothing came out. She dropped her bow an arrow a little.

“Who goes there, come out an fight you coward” kagome yelled once more raising her weapon.

“I wish not to fight you, kagome” a mischievous voice said

“Who’s there, who are you, how do you know me” kagome yelled

“Sess….sesshoumaru” kagome said somewhat fearful yet excited. Even thought they were side by side in battle a few weeks ago that did not mean a damn thing.

“Finally my little miko” sesshoumaru said stepping into he light. The moonlight shined down him giving off external appeal of wicked sex appeal. Finally coming out of the little shock she was in just enough to comprehend the words he spoke.

“No he does not appreciates me or anything I have to offer, an I’M NOT YOURS “kagome said yelling out the last bit

“ I desire you kagome, if you can not come with me come with me at night when your friends are sleep, I will train you then” sesshoumaru said each word blowing hot breath into her ear making her shiver down her spine as white-hot heat spread threw out her. She had a strong compulsion to kiss him. As if he was reading her mind, sesshoumaru turned her around. Looking into stormy grayish blue eyes, they meet with golden ones that shown threw with lust. “KAGOME “the voice of an enraged hanyou shouted putting the end to the mood looking angry and desperate she turned back to him.

Dazed she turned to the yell of her name and ran.

The next morning

He put his attention back on the group watching their movements. He noticed she was acting exuberant, he figured it was because of the offer he made to train her, but maybe just maybe she was thinking of him. He looked to his right side at the new sword he acquired in his last battle with some sorcerer of dark light. Medium in length it was as razor sharp as his teeth. It was thin, so thin it could slip between two ribs easily, an it was black as the midnight hour. It was perfect an very powerful, the sword by name was ‘gothure’ this word was made up with the use of the word gothic an the word lure thus spelling gothure / Gothure/. The sword would react to the aura of the owner. He figured since the last wielder was a miko it would suit kagome. Not just any sword could be used by a miko it had to be pure. How a sword can be pure, I’m not even going to answer that one. The reason being is that it is very rare for a miko to use a sword. Tonight would be the start of their training.

He was sure about training her in hand to hand combat, but he wasn’t sure if he should teach her in the use of chi an how to transmit power from her aura an soul into your attacks. He was more worried about what happen the night before. Turning his back, he went into the forest.

The group of shard hunters stopped to set up camp in the dense part of the forest. They were more determined to get to the jewel now that there were rumors of naraku being close. Inuyasha confirmed it by calling it by ‘stench ‘of dead things a shippo made a very funny fact known. But he failed to realize he was sitting on the hayous head at the time.

“ but inuyasha I thought you would be used to the smell of rotten flesh an dirt an graveyard soil with your decomposing bide over there “ shippo said an everyone burst out laughing but kikyo was fuming with anger an inuyashas’ eye was twitching slightly when he punch the thing on his head. To bad for him, that the thing he punched was his own head. So now, the hanyou was sporting three bruises from trying to punch the kit and this made even more laughter.

After that little fight was over with a few sits from kagome the food was made an ate an everyone was sleep. All except for one.

Kagome peered around the camp grounds to find everyone sleep. Moving the sleeping kitsune off of her, she quietly got of her sleeping. Slipped on her boots grabbed her bow an arrow an was gone.

Kagome raced threw the forest her heart pounding in her ears. She ran in a direction unknown. She was running till she found a clearing.

‘God I hope he wasn’t lying when he said he would train me’ kagome thought as she burst into a clearing

On the other side of the clearing, leaned up against a tree was the arrogant demon lord himself.

“What took you so long?” he questioned as he made his way over to her.

Her face darkened when he asked her that.

‘God there so different yet at the same time there alike….he better not piss me off’’

“You try sneaking off into the night when you don’t even know if your friends are sleep” kagome said. A smile tugged at his lips.

“Done it many times when I was a pup “sess said stopping in front of her. Her mouth was hanging so far open that you could probably fit the United States in her mouth.

“Close your mouth, don’t want flies getting in there” sess said playfully an a blush appeared on hr cheeks.

“Shut up…what am I sapost to do” kagome asked

The sword lit up in her hands. The sword changed shapes a little bit. It was now long instead of medium length. For the rest of the night he mad her get into battle stances until perfect which was perfect on the 30th try then defensive stance which again was perfect by the 30th time.

‘She learns quickly, this will shorten my time with her’ he thought

By the daybreak, kagome laid sprawled out on the ground. Every bone and muscle in her body hurted.

“Ugh I feel like one large bruise “kagome moaned as she tried to stand up

“Take this, this will give you enough energy for 12 hours” sess said handing her a potion bottle

“I can not lie with you about that but you will feel better if you drink this” sess said. An sighing she dranked the nasty shit down.

“Yuk….I do feel better but next time can you make it smell better” kagome asked with pleading eyes

“If I could I would, the main ingredient smells very bad an that’s the cause there is no substitution for it” sess said

“The sun is all most up I need to go to a hot spring….umm where one is” kagome asked

Kagome sighed as she felt the warm waters hit she body. Even though she was fully rested from the potion, she still felt sore in her arms so they dangled freely in the water. Her mind once again drifted back to the demon lord.

A few seconds later she busted threw the forest into the campgrounds.

“Yah now it doesn’t matter how many baths you take ya still stank” inuyasha said

“Yeah well at least I don’t smell like DEAD PEOPLE, by the way is your corpse bride” kagome said laughing at the smug look on his face.

“She’s right there” inuyasha said pointing to an empty space at the foot of the tree he slept in

Growling she came full force, an sesshoumaru was taken back at her force an speed but he did not let her touch him. He jumped back at the last minute of the attack. Where he stood would have been where the sword went threw his stomach. He stood his the third branch in a tree near by the river.

“Very good kagome, that is all we can do, take the potion” sesshoumaru told her. Looking repulsed at the little bottle, she drank it down trying not to gag.

“Here’s your sword back” kagome said holing the sword to him

“No, it’s yours” sesshoumaru said an he catch the sprinkle in her eyes shimmer to a whole knew light.

“for real this is mine, I can keep it, you never get it back” kagome asked an when sesshoumaru shook his kagome jumped in delight hugging him.

Pulling back, she gave him a quick kiss before she ran off to the nearest hot spring.

At camp

A little bit after kagome came back from the hot spring inuyasha, an kikyo showed up an kikyo had an evil glint in her eyes that did not go unnoticed by the group.

“Kagome I need those shards it’s not save to keep them on you since were almost finished with them” inuyasha asked with a goofy smile

‘Dump love sick puppy’ kagome thought

“No, Iwould ratherlet the cold hands of death touch me before I give them away to the likes of her” kagome said glaring daggers at the clay pot.

“Kagome just give me the shards” inuyasha hissed he was becoming mad but it didn’t seem to faze her like everyone thought it would, instead she walked to the clearing near by.

“If you want the shards,” kagome yelled unsheathing her sword witch everyone gasped at

“ then come play for it, you say I cant defend myself well lets put your words to the test….fight” kagome said in a very sesshoumaru like way that sent shivers up everyone’s spines.

“Because I refuse to “kagome whispered as she jumped back from his sword to the ground an as soon as her foot hit land she started to dodge attacks.

‘Damn her, damn her to the lord of the under world himself, inuyasha need help’ kikyo thought as she strung her bow an aimed at kagome

Kagome was jumping all over the place returning the attacks full force. The only difference was that kagomes attacks actually hit there target. She snapped her head to the side to see a arrow coming at her.

7 weeks later

Her training sessions with sesshoumaru were coming to an end and she knew it. She rather longed to still be weak so they could meet more. However, she knew if she did, he would sooner than later find out where kagome was going at night. They trained hard in the real world at night, but for some reason when they were in the dream world they both lost control of there emotions and let them have there way. They were coming closer to the shard, maybe a day or 2’s walk away but there was a very strong stench in the air that was naraku and pure evil. The place was all the evil was near a northern mountain in the northern lands nowhere near the west in thought. So there they were all asleep around the campfire. However, one of them was having the night of their life.

No one had time to react. All they did was get in battle stance. Kagome had told kilala to protect shippo, rin while ah un helped out the rest of them. Jaken...the little coward had left screaming for his life. They all stood in battle stances waiting for the first wave of attacks. Behind where naraku stood were nymphs, his minions, dragons, lesser demons, 3 headed dogs, and Cyclopes. The devils spawn. Above him in the sky on her feather was kaugra a kanna. kaugra had a smirk on her lips directed towards naraku, while kanna was her usual self. The group of hunters watched as kaugra chanted words that could not be heard. The armies of creatures soon were glowing purple then they were back to normal.

Naraku didn't notice any of this since he stood in front of his army for once instead of in the back.

"my my kagome what has happen to you, what are" naraku taunted knowing that this was a weak spot for her. 4 growls were heard at this comment. Inuyasha, sango, miroku, an kilala were sleeping in her room on a air mattress. it finally hit her, she was back in her time because the final battle had happen. she started to cry. her love was not there and neither was her son. her heart hurt so much. there was a knock on her door then her mother walked in.

"kagome, are you alright sweetie, do you think you can take a phone call" Anna asked

"no...who is it" kagome asked

"some guy he wont say his name" Anna said and before she could finish her sentence kagome was already down the hall an half way down the stair.
