~*Could you let down your hair and be transparent for a while, Just a little while
See if you are human after all.
Honesty is a hard attribute to find, When we all want to seem like, we've got it all figured out.
I may be the first to say that I don't have a clue, I don't have all the answers and God I pretend like I do Just trying, to find my way,
Trying to find my way the
best that I know how. *~

Day One -

"Is she okay?!" Mai ran into the house, not bothering to be polite.

"She is fine Ma'am." Tai attempted to calm her down.

"When Rin came to me and said that something was wrong . . . oh, I nearly died! Why didn't you take my daughter to the hospital?" Mai turned her anger directly to the Youkai standing in front of her.

"Believe me Ma'am, the hospitals would not be able to do anything about this."

Mai looked deep into this mans eyes. The man who did not take her daughter to a proper physician, but rather had her sleep on his couch all night. Meanwhile, Rin had stayed with them, and not spoken a word to her Aunt. Mai lowered her gaze and nodded. Something told her, this man was not an enemy.

"Has she woken up? What exactly happened?" the questions floated out of her, as they would any worried mother.

"Please, come to my office." Tai lead Mai toward his office just as Inuyasha came in with a cup of Tea for Kagome.

"She awake yet Rin?" He asked as he sat down next to Rin.

"No. I think she just needs to rest a little longer. That for me?" she smiled sweetly.

"Sure." he handed her the cup of tea and they watched Kagome roll over. At least she was moving.

"Four days huh?" Rin asked casually.

"Yep." Inuyasha responded dully.

"You two are positively stimulating." Sesshomaru said from behind them.

"Thanks." they responded in monotone. Sesshomaru sat down on the couch next to Rin. The three of them stared at Kagome.

A few minutes later Mai, Tai, and Nahori emerged from the other room and they too found seating.

Kagome yawned loudly and stretched upward. She had a terrible pain in her shoulder and her neck didn't feel to wonderful either. As she opened her eyes the sun came into them slightly so she turned on to her side to get out of the light. She realized quickly she was being watched. Twelve eyes were looking at her, as though she were to do something amazing. She blinked back her confusion and quickly focused on what was going on.

She sat up and waited for one of the six to say something. There was a long drawn out silence in which nobody seemed to even breath. As though time itself had stopped and this were merely an image of something frozen in time. As though if anybody spoke the entire image would shatter and they would be horribly thrown into reality. Until . . .

"Tea?" Inuyasha asked in a desperate attempt to get the conversational ball rolling.

"Oh Kagome I was so worried about you!" Mai ran to the couch and hugged her daughter.

"I was too Kagome! But I knew you'd pull through, you're so strong!" Rin bounced over to the other couch and hugged Kagome as well.

"We were all concerned." Nahori stated. "Weren't we?" she nudged Inuyasha in the ribs.

"Oh yeah. Terribly worried Kags." he said with little conviction.

"Well thanks for all the concern but I think I should just go home." Kagome tried to stand up but she still felt slightly dizzy.

"You must be starved dear. Let me make you some nice hot soup and a sandwich for lunch. Why it's nearly one anyway. I'll make everybody some." Nahori smiled as she walked into the kitchen, followed closely by Mai.

"I would love to help you Nahori dear."

"Thank you." the conversation continued into the distance until it was no longer audible.

"Rin, shouldn't you help them?" Tai gave a half wink to Rin and she stood up suddenly.

"I should. Young people always cook . . .eh . . . better?" She smiled shakily and bounced off toward the kitchen.

"Sesshomaru, you and I have some documents to look over for that investment." Tai, lead the way to his office and Sesshomaru obediently followed.

Kagome and Inuyasha sat in silence. A deep, uncomfortable silence.

"Feelin' a little better?" Inuyasha asked nonchalantly.

"A little." Kagome nodded slightly but it hurt so she stopped.

Finally the silence was too much and Inuyasha had to get down to business. "Kagome, we need to talk."

"About?"

"About everything. I mean it Kagome, I care about you. I know I'm a jerk, I didn't even remember what happened, and I . . . I fucked things up Kagome. I am sorry."

"Wow. The infamous Inuyasha said he was sorry. Wish I had a tape recorder." Kagome said back with a bit of bitterness in her voice.

"Kagome, stop doing that. Please. I mean it. I am sorry and I do care about you. Take it for what it's worth." Inuyasha stood up and began walking toward the staircase.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome called.

"Yeah?" he turned back, a ray of hope shining in his amber eyes.

"Umm . . . could . . . " Kagome didn't know how to keep him downstairs with her. "Could you pass the sugar?" 'Yeah, that was dumb'.

"Sure." Inuyasha smiled and walked back to the couch, making a cup of tea for Kagome.

The day continued with little event. Mai agreed that Kagome could get the best rest, and 'treatment' at the Takahashi's. Rin decided to stay in a guest room, and Nahori finally stopped cooking. Inuyasha and Kagome sat on the couch talking. They laughed often and Kagome beat him at a few rounds of cards. Sesshomaru even joined in the fun.

The time ahead of Kagome seemed to be looking brighter, but Inuyasha still didn't have a lot of time. He only had three days left before the unthinkable occurred. He had to work his magic a little faster.

~* Well I haven't memorized all of the cute things to say
But I'm working on it
Maybe I'll master this art for today
If I quote all the lines off the top of y head
Do you believe, that I fully understand all these things
I been trying
To find my way
Trying
To find my way the best that I know how *~

Man I can't seem to write anything that isn't crap anymore. So I apologize for the crappiness but at least I'm updating. I know I should really work on constructing more and not being so crappy but something's gone. I hope it comes back.

BTW - the song this chapter was by LifeHouse the song was "Trying" woot!
