InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Songs to Remeber You By ❯ Voice on the Radio ( Chapter 1 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

A/N: The first song in this fic was one I had wrote a long time ago. Since them I've written way better things. But the name Tom was changed to Shippo for this fic. Also, Shippo is taller and slightly older in this fic. Also I don't know Kagome's last name so bear with me. That and the sure-to-be-found mistakes here. Know what - just skip over the first song, I beg of you - it's just too embarrassing.

-------------------------------------------

Kagome stood on platform. A the microphone in hand. She should be used to this by now. Her music had his number one in the first week. Yet she still got the jitters. Maybe it was because she was still dealing with the loss of Inuyasha.

(A/N: This song's music is found in The Sims after you get the Unleashed Pack. Look for SUL BAND3 M in the music folder.)

If you feel down

Don't ware a frown

I will be there

For you now

When you feel

All alone

You will know

Where to go

I'll be there

Only for you

Cause you're the one

Who will shine through

When you feel afraid

Don't worry about your day

When you need someone to talk to

Just know I'm right her with you

Oh, everything will be ok

Just when you think it's bad

Don't worry about the past

It won't come back to haunt you

Don't worry about the future

It's too far off to bother you

Oh, everyone is happy in the sun

Why don't you go out to play

Don't worry about the demons

That hide in the forest

No, you don't have to worry

I'll be watching right over you

You know I will

Oh, can't you feel me

Right over you

No worry

No pain

Come on, you know you'll be fine

You know it

Time to show it

Don't let the worry drag you down

Your safe with me hun

You think your in danger

Just call my name

You know I'll protect ya

So you don't have to worry

She turned to the Sax Player.

Play it Shippo!

You don't have to worry now

I will be here for you

You know I'm here

Don't worry

In the dead of night

The demons will try to

Get you in your sleep

But I'll be there for you

Oh, don't worry

All the bad dreams never seem to come true

Oh you know it's true

No need to worry

Everything's fine

I'm still here

As long as I'm here your fine

No one will take me away from you

You'll live with me forever

She finished and looked up at the recording director who sat in the glass booth. He gave her a thumbs up. God I hated doing that song. It sucks and it the worst thing I've ever sung. People are going to hate me for it. All cause of some god damn contract where I have to sing 6 pre-written songs within two months, ever three months.

Kagome sighed as she unlocked her car and got in. Starting up the engine she broke down.

Damn it. What happened to him? He was kidnapped and then nothing. No body, no ransom. Not even a trace. She looked out her window and up to the sky. Where ever you are Inuyasha, I hope your happy.

Radio Studio Next Town Over

---------------------------

"Ok and now we have an up-and-coming music star. He has white hear, a red hat, and can melt any heart with a guitar. Let's give a warm i-91 welcome to David Max. Welcome David and I have to say. You are cute in person." She Dj giggled at her own comment as David forced a smile. "And hello to you to."

"So what is this song your going to sing for us?"

"Well, there is this girl in my dreams and I don't know who she is. But I wrote a song about her and I'm willing to play it now if you want to hear it."

The Dj cooed at the thought. "Why not? What's the song called?"

"I call it Goodbye Girl."

"Well your going to hear it first ladies and gentlemen. Performing live from I-95, Goodbye Girl by David Max."

-------------------

Kagome's Car

-------------------

Kagome sat in the parking lot of the fast food place. A bag in her passenger seat with the large "M" on it told it's own story as she listened to the radio station. She had actually just turned it on.

"Performing life from I-95, Goodbye Girl by David Max." The Dj said into the microphone. Followed by, what Kagome thought of as, one of the most beautiful voices she had ever herd. The guitar playing was just as good.

All your life you've waited

For love to come and stay

And now that I have found you

You must not slip away

I know it's hard believing

The words you've herd before

But darling you must trust in me

Trust me just like before

Kagome's eyes widened. "It couldn't be him. After all this time?"

Baby goodbye

Doesn't mean forever

Let me tell you

Goodbye doesn't mean well never be together again

If you wake up and I'm not there

I won't be long away, oh

Cause all the things you do my goodbye girl

Will bring me back to you

"It is him. But why the name change?" Kagome thought as she got on the highway, heading for the city, and I-95.

I know you've been taken

Afraid to hurt again

You fight the love you feel for me

Instead of giving in

But I can't wait forever, Oh

I'm helping you to see

That I was meant for you my love

And you were meant for me

Kagome hit sudden traffic. "Damn it! Get out of the way!" She yelled.

Remember Goodbye

Doesn't mean forever

Just remember goodbye

Doesn't mean we'll never be together again

Though we may be so far apart

You'll still have my heart

So I'll be right back

My goodbye girl

Now you home at last

"Move it!" Kagome yelled. "Move your ass!"

Angrily beeping her horn.

Though we may be so far apart

You still have my heart

So I'll bring you back

My goodbye girl

Now you home at last

It doesn't mean forever

Goodbye doesn't mean will never be together

Goodbye doesn't mean forever

Will you remember goodbye

Goodbye, goodbye girl

"And that was Goodbye Girl by David Max. It's been a real big pleasure David. We hope to have you back soon."

"I hope so too."

"And now: Deep Forest by Do As Infinity, Another up-and-coming group."

Kagome yelled in frustration. "Wait. I might be able to catch him on his way out!" She pulled into the nearest parking lot and ran down the street until she got to the studio. She ran inside to the main desk. "Excuse me! I'm looking for David Max, I'm an old friend from out of town, is he still here!?"

"I'm sorry miss. He just left two minutes ago."

Kagome sighed in defeat heading back to her car. She turned it on just as another song came on.

"Your listening to the I-95 non-stop music hour."

Everybody's got something

They had to leave behind

Only grief from yesterday

That seems to grow with time

-------------------

The sun rose with great colors in the sky as Kagome looked out over the beach from her house.

There's no use looking back and wonder

How if could of been now

Or might of been

Oh, this in know but still I can't find ways to let you go

Kagome got into her car and headed for the studios.

I've never had a dream come true

Till the day that I found you

Even though I pretend that I've moved on

You'll always be my baby

I never found the words to say

You're the one I think about each day

Even though I pretend that I've moved on

A part of me will always be

With you

Kagome began to cry.

---------------------------------

Across Town

---------------------------------

David sat at his kitchen table listening to the sad song as it played. Holding the Shikon no Tama in his hands. "I know this has something to do with my past… but what?" He yelled. Looking at the sword that hung in a case on his wall. "And that does too! You just don't wake up without a name or a past. It just doesn't happen."

Somewhere in my memory

I've lost all since of time

And too my broken never be

Cause yesterday is all that fills my mind

There's no use looking back and wondering

How it should be now or might of been

Oh, this I know

But still I can't find ways to let you go

I've never had a dream come true

Till the day that I found you

Even though I pretend that I've moved on

You'll always be my baby

I never found the words to say

You're the one I think about each day

And I know

No matter where life takes me too

A part of me will always be

-------------------------

Kagome's Car

-------------------------

Kagome parked her car. She didn't try to get out. She let the radio played the song as she thought about Inuyasha.

You'll always be the dream that fills my head

Yes you will, say you will you, know you will baby

You'll always be the one I know I'll never forget

There's no use looking back and wondering

Cause love is as strange as fun it is

No matter how I try and try

I just can't say goodbye

No, no, no, no

I've never had a dream come true

Till the day that I found you

Even though I pretend that I've moved on

You'll always be my baby

I never found the words to say

You're the one I think about each day

And no matter where life takes me to

A part of me will always be

A part of me will always be

With you, oh

Kagome was startled when there was a knock on her window. She turned to see Miroku looking at her. She smiled a little as she got out of her car. Wiping away her tears. "Hay. Ready to record a hit?" She asked.

"Oh, no. Don't try that happy face on me. I know you were just crying."

"Busted." Kagome said under her breath.

"Mind telling me why?"

"I just feel like he is everywhere for some reason." Kagome said. Looking down.

Miroku put a hand on her shoulder. "Kagome, where ever he is he's happy." He pulled her into a hug. "Don't worry about it." He said. "Now, let's go inside."

She nodded as he slung an arm over her shoulder as they walked up the front steps of the large building. "Last night Sango punched me in the stomach while she was sleeping." Miroku said as he held the door open for her. "And I didn't even do anything." He said as it shut.

Kagome went up to the twenty-second floor. She smiled at the band players as she entered the green room. "So Sango, I herd you socked Miroku in your sleep." Kagome said. A smile playing at her lips.

"Yup. Thought I'm not even sure why."

"You probably just felt like it."

Sango shrugged. "Maybe."

Kagome stood up and addressed the group.

"Everyone, yesterday inspiration struck me. So I wrote a song. You guys think you can play it?" Kagome said with a smile, taking out sheet notes from her backpack. Collective and excited 'ya's' came from the group. She handed out the notes.

Shippo looked up at her after looking over it. "The melody sounds good in my head. I like it."

"Yah me too." Sango said. Miroku nodded and Koga did the same after the moment.

"Ok. Why don't we run through it." Kagome said. Going into the next room. A small line forming behind her to get through the door. As Kagome tuned her Guitar she thought about how Koga had been nicer to her since Inuyasha's disappearance. He stopped calling her 'his women' and began to call her by her name.

Sango picked up her Guitar as did Kagome. Koga got into his seat behind the drums and Miroku took his station at the piano. Shippo picking up a bass and testing it out. Kagome smiled tapping her foot, getting the beat back into her head. Sango quickly read over her words as Kagome began to play.

When you sooth my heart

And I'll give at that

But look me in the eye babe

Tell me why you love me like that

Why you love me like that, oh-oh

Sango joined in as Miroku played the harmonica sound on his 'high-tech' piano.

Well I walk that world

The times on the

And after all this walking babe

You've got me crawling on the floor

Crawling on the floor

And I know

This world

Keeps on turning

Keeps me earning

How, can you turn and walk away

Pretending everything's ok

How can you turn your back

Tell me why you love me like that

Why you love me like that oh-oh

Kagome smiled as she continued on. Liking the way it sounded. It sounded better than it did in her head - and she thought she had juiced it up.

Well I find you to listen

But I'm shattered like broken glass

Well I thought we'd be dear friends babe

Yah I thought that we would last

Yah I thought that we would last

And I know

This world

Keeps on spinning

Every minute that your in it

How, can you turn and walk away

Pretending everything's ok

How can you turn your back

Tell me why you love me like that

Why you love me like that oh-oh

And we are living maybe because of the beyond

With nothing like yours

Believe me I'm better off

I'm better off alone

Oh-oh

Well I was you gypsy

Throwing diamonds at your feet

Drifting around you like a satellite

I gave you everything in me

Everything in me

And I know

This world

Keeps on turning

Keeps me earning and yarning

How, can you turn and walk away

Pretending everything's ok

How can you turn your back

Tell me why you love me like that

Why you love me like that

Oh, how can you just break away

Why can't you find the words to say

Love is something you work at

Tell me why you love me like that

Why you love me like that

Why you love me like that oh

How can you throw us away

Look at what you lost today

Now everything's a shade of gray

Now you pushing me away

Say all the things you need to say

While we were going all the way

Play all the games you want to play

So that we can just fade away

Kagome closed her eyes as she finished the song. Not because she felt like it. She suddenly didn't feel good. She swallowed hard and kept her composure. Turning to the others. "I'm going to call it early today. Not feeling too well for some reason. See you guys later. Ok?"

---------------------------------------

Kagome sat on her couch, guitar in hand. She played mindlessly for a moment before launching into a song. She had kept this one to herself. She had wrote it about Inuyasha after his disappearance.

Every time I feel alone

I can blame it on you

And I do

You got me like a loaded gun

Golden sun and skies so blue

Oh, we both know

What we won't say

And we both know you

You left me alone

Oh, you just bring me down

So I'm counting my tears till I get over you

Sometimes I watch the world go by

Wonder what it's like

To wake up every single day

My alarm you face you never try

We both know we

We can't change it

But we both know

You'll just have to change it

You just bring me down

So I'm counting the tears till I get over you

If only I can give you, oh, what I want to let you

Out from this open wound baby

We both know we

That we won't let

That we both know

You left neutral

You just bring me down

Oh, So I'm counting till I get over you

We both know

That I'm not over you

La, la, la, la, la, la

I'm not over you

Ha, I'm not over you Inuyasha

Kagome jumped when she herd Sango's voice behind her.

"That was beautiful." She said.

"Sango?! What are you going here?"

"You weren't answering your cell and I have a key." She said. Holding up the golden key.

"Oh, right."

"Want to talk about it?"

"No. Not really."

---------------------------------------------

Inuyasha's House

---------------------------------------------

That voice is so familiar.

Live your dreams

It's not as hard as it may seem

You got to work to get the cream

All the hopes you must see

From your fears

You have to win yourself

It's all or nothing

Give it your everything

David smashed the radio. "Why the hell does that voice ring in my head? Why does it seem familiar?" He paused. A stray tear coming down his cheek. Quietly he said. "Why can't I remember."

He flicked a switch on another radio in his bed room. Just in time.

"The was Kagome Winterson singing Live Your Dreams."

Kagome Winterson… That name. "I have to find her." Inuyasha said. Grabbing his coat.

Inuyasha got into his car. Driving down the road calling his agent.

"This better be good. It's three in the morning."

"Rick, I need to know something. Which agency is Kagome Winterson hooked up with?"

"Uh… I think it was Hunter Music. Why?"

Inuyasha didn't answer him. He hung up the phone, dialing 411.

"Information. How can I help you?"

"Can you connect me with Hunter Music?"

"Is that a residential or business name?"

"It's a music agency."

"Just a moment."

After a moment there was a few rings. Followed by a hello.

"My name is David Max. I'm looking for one of your contract-ee's."

"Ok, sir. Can I have a name please?"

"Kagome Winterson."

"Ah yes. Do you need a phone number?"

"Please!"

"Ok. 555-7392."

David hung the phone up again. Calling 411 once again.

"I have an number I need an address." He said. Stopping at a red light.

------------------------

Kagome was fast asleep. When there was a knock on her door. She grumbled something while wrapping the large blanket around herself. She opened the door and immediately dropped the blanket. Letting her nightgown blow slightly in the wind and rain.

"Inuyasha!" She yelled hugging him as closely as she could. He didn't return it. She looked up into his eyes. "You don't remember me do you…"

He shook his head. "No. But your voice. Your scent. It's all familiar to me."

She sat him down at her kitchen table. He kept his hat on as she went through her cupboards.

"I was wondering when I would be able to make this for you again." She said. Pulling out raymen. David, turned, Inuyasha smiled showing off some fangs which he quickly hid.

Kagome giggled. "No need to hide them. I've seen them before." She said. Taking off his hat and rubbing the white ears she's longed to see.

Kagome put the bowl in front of him. She sat across from him with a cup of coffee. After a moment she asked. "So where have you been all these years?"

"I woke up one morning in an alley. From there I got a job and worked my way up the music industry. Just like you did."

"So you don't know anything about your past?" Kagome asked. Inuyasha shook his head. Kagome was restringing herself every little bit not to jump on him with hugs and kisses.

"Well, your name is Inuyasha. You're a hanyou. As you might of already known. We spent years gathering parts of the Shikon no Tama together in your era. After we finished you kept it to protect it. You came to live in my era with me. We were in love…" Kagome trailed off. "We were?" Inuyasha asked. Kagome nodded. "Oh, and you had the sword called… damn what was it called. I remember now it was called Tetsusaiga. It was one of your prized possessions."

Kagome looked at the beads the still hung around his neck. "I remember putting those on you. You never did let me take them off. Now I can't say si- I mean s-i-t without you crashing to the ground." She got up and stood behind him. Lightly scratching behind his ears. He leaned into her touch. "I wish I could remember… but it just doesn't come back."

Kagome sighed walking over to a large window. "But I do feel attracted to you. Maybe we could… try again?"

She smiled to herself. Not facing him. She began to sing.

"There's a low rock wall. By the cliffs of Mo-lore, runs down on the ground right up through the sea air. As a child I would climb to the stop of those stairs. And wish on the fall I was anywhere else."

She turned to face Inuyasha. Who looked at her in wonder.

"The farms and the valleys all ring with the stories of the men who built walls so as to be more alone. All that's left of them now is their fears and their bones. But their rocks they pulled up were all I've ever known."

Inuyasha put a finger to her lips.

"The rock formed my spirit. The rock fed my anger. The rock broke my heart like the waves of the sea. I tried hard to fight but it still grew inside me, this island, my island, the rock is in me."

Kagome nodded. Inuyasha continued.

"Hard was the ground in which this child grew. Unforgiving and cold was the home that I knew. But knowing the soil was no harbor for you made pulling up roots that much easier to do."

Kagome took her verse.

"Set sail pilgrims. Set sail to a new land. Set sail our future cause I'm going to find, find my, find my. The rock formed my spirit. The rock fed my anger. The rock broke my heart like the waves of the sea. I tried hard to fight but it still grew inside me, this island, my island, the rock is in me."

"The rock formed my spirit. The rock fed my anger. The rock broke my heart like the waves of the sea. I tried hard to fight but it still grew inside me, this island, my island, the rock is in me." Inuyasha sang.

Kagome added to it.

"Now It's been years since I've been in that place. And winds of my life have weathered my face. But it's only with distance and coming with grace that I see in you beauty I could never replace. The rock forged my spirit. The rock was my anger. The rock held me fast through the storms of my youth. Now you'll never die cause you live on inside me. On my life in everything."

Kagome looked up at him as she held him tight, realizing he was returning it. "Do you remember now? The past… our past."

She didn't get a response at first. But soon he leaned down and kissed her. "Yes… it's coming back." He said. "It's all coming back."
