"Hmm.. .Kagome come here." Sango said reading a sign that was posted to the side of her and

Miroku's cabin. "There's a public dance tonight." she said reading the sign over and over.

"Really?" Kagome walked up behind her friend and read the sign over her shoulder. "That sounds

like fun..."

"So we're going..." Sango said looking at her.

"Why not?" Kagome asked.

"Are you sure your well enough to go?" Sango asked, eyeing her friend closely.

"Of course I am!" Kagome said. "I'm always well enough to go to a dance."

"Great. So, are you going to get Inuyasha to go?" Sango asked.

Kagome turned red. "Um...yeah...I guess."

Sango smirked. "How about I ask him for you?"

"You'd do that?"

Sango nodded. "Yeah." she checked her watch and looked up at the sky, the sun was slowly

dipping down out of the sky. "Well...I better go do it now..." she turned to Kagome. "The dance is

at the hotel, you can go on ahead, me and the guys will be there soon."

Kagome nodded and walked off.

"Hey...where's Kagome going?" Miroku asked Sango as he and Inuyasha walked up to her.

"She's going to the hotel, there's a dance being held up there." Sango said with a wicked smile.

"Are you two planning on going?"

"Why not?" Miroku smiled and took Sango's hand and planted a kiss on her cheek. "It should be

fun, right Inuyasha?"

Inuyasha fumbled with his words. "...um..yeah...I bet..."

"Your going to have to tell her tonight, you know." Miroku said to him, knowing what the hanyou

was thinking about. Sango nodded in agreement.

"Its going to be tough." Inuyasha said.

"Don't worry. It'll turn out great." Sango smiled. "Now lets go. The dance isn't going to wait for

us so it can start!" she winked and started to walk, dragging Miroku along with her.

Inuyasha followed close behind, his ears twitched as he heard the music start up from the hotel. 'I

guess Sango and Miroku is right...I'll tell Kagome tonight...I mean...' he sighed. 'Nothing can go

wrong tonight...and I'm sure Kagome will be happy....'

Kagome was at down at a table by herself and watched as the other students and locals started to

dance along to the music. She sighed and held her head on her hands. 'This dance is going to be

dry...' she thought bitterly to herself. 'I bet this is what I will be doing ALL night.' her eyes

narrowed when she saw Kikyo and her two bitch friends walk into the hotel lobby. She couldn't

help but smirk when she saw the surprised look that came across Kikyo's face when she saw

Kagome sat at the table.

'I bet she wasn't expecting me here.' Kagome thought. She had a good mind to wave to that bitch

but decided that it would be a waste of valuable energy.

"Having fun?"

Kagome turned around and met a pari of golden eyes. "Inuyasha..." she smiled. "Not really, but I

have a feeling that's about to change."

Inuyasha smiled and sat next to her. "How long will you be staying here?"

Kagome shrugged. "I'm not sure, until I gets tired of it..."

Inuyasha nodded. "I'm going to leave with you...I mean, when you leave I'm going too."

Kagome smiled and nodded. "Good. I mean...that's OK with me, it'll be good to have someone to

walk with and talk to on the way back to the cabin."

The music stopped and a slow song started to play. Kagome smiled and closed her eyes. "I love

this song..."

Inuyasha took her hand. "Want to dance then?"

Kagome smiled at him. "Sure..." they both stood up and walked out onto the dance floor and

started to dance.

Ain't it a shame**

Kagome rested her head on Inuyasha's shoulder and hummed the song. "This is so nice, Inuyasha.

I'm so glad that you came."

Inuyasha blushed but nodded slowly. "So am I."

"Kagome...can I tell you something?" Inuyasha brought Kagome's face up so he could look at it.

"What?" Kagome searched his face, she couldn't read it, it held no expression whatsoever.

"Kagome...I..." he paused.

"You what?" Kagome stopped dancing but kept her arms around Inuyasha's neck.

"I have no idea how to say this...but..." he closed his eyes and pressed his lips against Kagomes.

Kagome's eyes shut, and her heart nearly stopped. She wasn't expecting the hanyou to kiss her,

but she was so happy...it took a lot of weight off her shoulders.

Inuyasha slowly broke the kiss. "Kagome I love you..."

Kagome looked him in the eyes, tears rolling down her cheeks. "...Inuyasha..." she paused. "I love

you too..." she leaned in and kissed him again.

Inuyasha slid his tongue out and licked her bottom lip, asking for entrance. Kagome opend her

mouth and allowed the hanyou to slide his tongue in to join her own. A low moan came from the

back of Kagome's throat, this was the most happy moment in her life, and she wanted it to last

forever.
