Miroku and Sango.
Lemon: I'm not going to describe every thrust. I trust that, you the reader, have imagination and can fill in those details better than I can describe them. Parts of this will offend people. You are warned.
Hmmm . . . I finished ch three pretty sparsely . . . so this will include more details than ch three.
This chapter will be from Miroku and Sango's point of view. Chapter five will be Inu-yasha and Kagome's point of view. Both chapters are happening at the same time, but cutting back and forth . . . shakes head . . . just did not read right. So two chapters, not one.
The legend I'm using in this chapter is the basic creation legend for Japan. (Shinto's version of Genesis.)
Unfortunately the web-links for the creation of japan aren't as good as Uzume's dance, and this may not be as good as chapter three. Keade's speech was not as easy to break down as Uzume's . . . Sorry . . .

picking up from toward the end of chapter three . . .
On the stage . . .
Villagers quickly clean off the stage. And some, after touching Sango, go into huts and take out quilts and futons and start to spread them out around the stage.
Sango, as this is happening, goes over to the table with the sake and grabs another large cup to drink. When she lowers it, half-empty, she sees Miroku standing next to her. He holds his hand open, obviously wanting to finish the cup. Sango's face flushes and her teeth clench. She lifts the cup up and finishes it off. "Tonight only, Monk" she growls out as she convulsively flings the empty cup away into the night
Sango goes to the center of the stage. Miroku, after having a cup of sake, himself, joins her there.
Within a few minutes the villagers have finished preparing the stage for the next dance. They leave the stage and only Sango and Miroku are left standing on the stage. They are standing facing each other, with the large phallus in between them.
The villagers, by the time Keade begins to speak, have paired off and are standing with men and women beside each other. Husbands and wives are standing together. Unmarried girls standing next to the boys, they like and vice versa. The few unattached people of the village are pairing among themselves. The glow that many of the villagers had around them has faded by this time. The gods came to watch Uzume and that show is over. But Kagome still glows a little, Inu-yasha still glows. Glowing fireflies of light orbit the village. Miroku and Sango, though, do not glow as their act begins.
'Kagome got through her dance. Now, it is my turn. Tonight . . . It's not what I wanted. I wanted to do this with him, the first time, on our wedding night, but . . . ' Sango thinks.
"Are you ready, Lady Sango?" Miroku whispers.
"Remember, monk, I go first . . . " Sango hisses back
A tall, large man with rough, but very handsome features approaches Keade from the direction of Inu-yasha's forest. He is dressed in a very plain, but a glowing green and brown kimono. Keade turns around and sees him. She bows and whispers, "Go-Shin-Boku-kami, you came."
He inclines his head at Keade, and as the light reflects of his hair, everyone can see his green hair. "This is the festival to renew my land, is it not?" He speaks and his voice reverberates throughout the village. The villagers all turn and stare at him. Then, as one, they bow low to him.
They whisper to each other. "He's here . . . " "The god tree. In person . . . " "The festival will be great this year . . . "
Miroku looks at Go-Shin-Boku-kami, 'I always knew he existed, but for him to manifest in human shape.' He mentally sighs, 'Tonight . . . things will happen. I can feel the power build.'
Sango thinks as she looks at him, 'the gods are watching, I cannot make any mistakes, tonight.'
'My grandfather was right . . . ' Kagome thinks in awe.
'So, the bastard shows himself. How I wish I wasn't sealed . . . I'd show him . . . let me be sealed against him for fifty years . . . ' Inu-yasha thinks angrily, until Kagome's hand brushes up against him and other thoughts dominate.
He walks over and stands beside Keade. Keade bows low. "Let it begin. The land awaits." He commands.
Keade begins to speak into the microphone.
Keade's speech "Before the heavens and the earth came into existence, all was a chaos, unimaginably limitless and without definite shape or form. Eon followed eon: then, lo! Out of this boundless, shapeless mass something light and transparent rose up and formed the heaven. This was the Plain of High Heaven, in which materialized a deity called Ame-no-Minaka-Nushi-no-Mikoto (the Deity-of-the-August-Center-of-Heaven). Next the heavens gave birth to a deity named Takami-Musubi-no-Mikoto (the High-August-Producing-Wondrous-Deity), followed by a third called Kammi-Musubi-no-Mikoto (the Divine-Producing-Wondrous-Deity). These three divine beings are called the Three Creating Deities."
Miroku and Sango begin to circle the stage. They are doing some very basic dance movements as they move. They move counterclockwise around the large phallus that has been set in the center of the stage. Either the sake or a lack of practice is causing them to move a slow and cautious way.
'The villagers have always been reserved around us. We weren't part of the village. By doing this, Miroku and I will become part of the village.' Sango thinks. 'It's different from killing a demon to get accepted into my village, but . . . sigh. How I wish, I could have done this the way I had always dreamed.'
'I wish I'd been able to teach her a few things, to make tonight go more smoothly, but she did not want to practice . . . ' Miroku thinks as he watches Sango move. 'But, she's moving beautifully as it is . . . '
Keade's speech:
"In the meantime what was heavy and opaque in the void gradually precipitated and became the earth, but it had taken an immeasurably long time before it condensed sufficiently to form solid ground. In its earliest stages, for millions and millions of years, the earth may be said to have resembled oil floating, medusa-like, upon the face of the waters. Suddenly like the sprouting up of a reed, a pair of immortals were born from its bosom. These were the Deity Umashi-Ashi-Kahibi-Hikoji-no-Mikoto (the Pleasant-Reed-Shoot-Prince-Elder-Deity) and the Deity Ame-no-Tokotachi-no-Mikoto (The Heavenly-Eternally-Standing-Deity). . . ."
Sango whispers to Miroku as they circle, "Remember, monk, this is supposed to be the first time for anyone. So act like the nervous teen-ager you never were."
"You wound me, Lady Sango." He whispers back. "Will you know what to do?"
"Of course, I know what to do." She hisses back.
'I've seen my parents do it, many times.' She thinks as she remembers her childhood. She remembers sleeping together with her family, like every family in her village did. One of the weirdest things about Kagome's time, and one thing she'll never mention to her friend, is how she occasionally pities Kagome.
How strange and lonely Kagome's childhood must have been. Sango has always slept with her mother and father. Waking up in her parents arms, were, now that they are gone, one of the things she misses about them the most.
Sango's mouth twitches into a semi-smile, 'I don't remember a night when I've ever slept alone. If my parents weren't there, then I slept with my grandparents before they died, or my brother. Even on my extermination trips, I had Kirara with me. And now I sleep with Kirara. And Kagome has slept alone in her own bed for years . . . ' she thinks.
She remembers, as a child, waking up during a cold winter night and asking, out of a natural curiosity, what her mother and father were doing to each other. Her parents treated her like a real person and answered her questions truthfully and to the best of their ability.
Her smile grows a little, as she remembers how embarrassed Kagome was one bath. They began talking about reproduction and how they learned about it. Kagome's tale of how she learned about something so basic and necessary was one of the oddest things she'd ever heard. The comparison between how easy and truthfully her parents told her and how hard it was for Kagome to learn the same thing was a conversion that struck home for Sango the differences between Kagome's time and her time.
'She's smiling . . . perhaps tonight can be more than just a Shinto ritual . . . ' Miroku thinks as he smiles at Sango.
'Now, I have to smile back at him, for the villagers . . . ' Sango thinks as her smiles fixes itself on her face.
Keade speech:
"Many gods were thus born, by sprouting up, in succession, and so they increased in number, but as long as the world remained in a chaotic state, there was nothing for them to do. Whereupon, all the Heavenly deities summoned the two divine beings, Izanagi and Izanami, and bade them descend to the nebulous place, and by helping each other, to consolidate it into terra firma. "We bestow on you," they said, "this precious treasure, with which to rule the land, the creation of which we command you to perform." So saying they handed them a spear called Ama-no-Nuboko, embellished with costly gems. The divine couple received respectfully and ceremoniously the sacred weapon and then withdrew from the presence of the Deities, ready to perform their august commission."
Miroku and Sango stop dancing.
Sango removes her robe and stands nude on the stage. 'I hate to show all my scars like this, but...' she thinks.
Miroku removes his robe and stands nude on the stage. 'Concentrate, do not react, do not grow . . . ' he thinks.
"Is something wrong?" the villagers whisper among themselves as they stare at Miroku's crotch. Normally by this time, the man on stage is very excited . . .
Miroku smiles and waves at the villagers, he knows what is going through their minds and wishes to calm them.
They go to the large phallus. They bow to it. Then they grab and lift it up. Miroku and Sango circle the stage holding the phallus between them. As they circle, the villagers touch and caress it.
Some men and some women do "accidently" touch Sango and Miroku, both of whom accept those touches without comment. After touching the phallus, the villagers loosen or remove, in some cases, their clothes, and they start touching and caressing themselves and/or the person standing next to them.
'Stupid body . . . Stop reacting . . . ' Sango curses her own body at it reacts to the simulation that the villagers gave it. 'I shouldn't like this. Good girls are not supposed to like it when people look at them . . . ' but she can feel the excitement grow in her body.
Keade speech:
"Proceeding forthwith to the Floating Bridge of Heaven, which lay between the heaven and the earth, they stood awhile to gaze on that which lay below. What they beheld was a world not yet condensed, but looking like a sea of filmy fog floating to and fro in the air, exhaling the while an inexpressibly fragrant odor. They were, at first, perplexed just how and where to start, but at length Izanagi suggested to his companion that they should try the effect of stirring up the brine with their spear. So saying he pushed down the jeweled shaft and found that it touched something. Then drawing it up, he examined it and observed that the great drops which fell from it almost immediately coagulated into an island, which is, to this day, the Island of Onokoro. Delighted at the result, the two deities descended forthwith from the Floating Bridge to reach the miraculously created island. In this island they thenceforth dwelt and made it the basis of their subsequent task of creating a country."
After circling the stage, Miroku and Sango place the large phallus back in the center of the stage. They bow to the wooden phallus, again. They step back a few meters. They bow to each other.
"Ready, Lady Sango." Miroku whispers. 'I wish we were doing this as man and wife. Doing it when we so would increase it's effect. But, she'll never accept me, because she thinks I'm a pervert.' He thinks.
"Remember, monk. Tonight only." Sango whispers back. 'I wish we were doing this with him as my husband. My father wanted me to save myself for a good husband. But, he'll always chase other women.' She thinks.
Keade speech:
"Then wishing to become espoused, they erected in the center oPound the island a pillar, the Heavenly August Pillar, and built around it a great palace called the Hall of Eight Fathoms. Thereupon the male Deity turning to the left and the female Deity to the right, each went round the pillar in opposite directions."
Miroku starts to move to his left.
Sango starts to move to her right.
They stop a meter or so away from each other.
Sango, in a loud voice, says, "How delightful it is to meet so handsome a youth!" A glow forms around her as she speaks.
Miroku, also in a loud voice, says, "How delightful I am to have meet with such a lovely maiden!" A glow forms around him as he speaks.
"There is a place on our bodies that is different." Miroku speaks as he points to Sango's crotch.
She nods and says, "In my body there is a place which is the source of femininity." She touches her herself at that place.
Miroku say, "In my body there is a place which is the source of masculinity." He touches himself at that place. "I wish to unite this source place of my body to the source-place of your body."
"How?" she asks.
One of the villagers brings a basket with a couple of wagtail birds on the stage. The birds legs are tied, with a string, to the bottom of the basket. He places some grain in the basket. The birds eat the rice. The birds large tail feathers go up and down as they eat.
"Like that." Miroku points. He, finally, relaxes his concentration and allows his body to react naturally to the presence of a beautiful woman.
"Oh . . . such concentration . . . " the villagers whisper. "So large . . . " All the couples near the stage are laying down with each other by this time. They ones further from the stage are kneeling next to each other. They are all watching the stage and positioning themselves next to each other. The caresses and touches are getting more and more excited.
The villager releases the two birds and leaves the stage.
Sango and Miroku embrace each other and lay down on the stage next to the large wooden phallus.
Sango pushes Miroku to the ground and rises above him. "I'm on top, this time, monk." She whispers as she grasps his middle leg. She places it between her legs, but not inside her.
"Yes, Sango." He whispers as he begins to move his middle leg between her thighs.
After a minute of going up and down, "we need to go on to the next step, Sango." He whispers. "Ready."
"Yes, monk." She swallows hard.
Sango lowers herself onto Miroku's manhood. It enters her smoothly and easily.
Miroku's left eyebrow rises as he looks a question at Sango.
Sango blushes. "I lost it when I was twelve. Father was training me to fight demons. A girls body isn't made for that and . . . " She answers in a whisper as she blushes from the memory.
'Ahh, yes, fighting and running will cause it to break' Miroku thinks. He smiles, 'But, still she is excited, otherwise, it wouldn't feel soooo nice. And even if this isn't love, I can at least make sure she enjoys herself.'
Miroku places his hand between them and moves it down to the source of femininity. 'This will make her feel good.'
Sango stops his hand and whispers, "remember, monk. This is the first time and we should be fumbling around."
"Which reminds me . . . " she whispers as she puts her hand between them. She smiles at Miroku and using her fingernails, pierces his skin on the inside of his upper thigh.
Miroku, with a pained expression, whispers, "why?"
"Because the villagers will expect some blood. And you're donating it." She smiles as she answers.
"Sigh . . . " Miroku pulls Sango close and Sango starts to move on top of him.
After a few minutes' Miroku cries, "Ahhh . . . " and Sango cries, "good . . . "
Sango lifts herself off Miroku and lays down beside him. She reaches down between her legs and shows her hand, which is wet with blood and other fluids, to the villagers.
"Ahhh . . . " the villagers moan. Some of the younger men have already lost control, but, their companions are helping them recover for the coming act.
"Your body loved it." he whispers into her ear.
"My body is a fool." she whispers back. "Besides, I'm sure you know all there is about making a woman's body foolish."
Keade speech:
"They fell into connubial relationship, having been instructed by two wagtails which flew to the spot. Presently the Goddess bore her divine consort a son, but the baby was weak and boneless as a leech. Disgusted with it, they abandoned it on the waters, putting it in a boat made of reeds."
Sango's right arm reaches toward the bottom of the phallus and brushes against a hidden compartment. She opens it and takes out a doll.
Sango slides the doll under her and between her legs. From between her legs, she lifts the doll over her head. The doll looks like a cross between a leech and human. It is full of soft fabric and has no hard parts. Sango and Miroku stand up.
"Our son is not a good son." Miroku declares. He and Sango go to the edge of the stage. The reed basket that held the birds is still there. They put the doll into the basket, close the lid and secure it. Miroku picks it up and throws the basket into the night.
Keade speech:
"The two Deities, now sorely disappointed at their failure and full of misgivings, ascended to Heaven to inquire of the Heavenly Deities the causes of their misfortunes. The latter performed the ceremony of divining.
Go-Shin-Boku-kami speaks to the village, "It is the woman's fault. In turning round the Pillar, it was not right and proper that the female Deity should in speaking have taken precedence of the male. That is the reason."
Keade speech:
"The two Deities saw the truth of this divine suggestion, and made up their minds to rectify the error. So, returning to the earth again, they went once more around the Heavenly Pillar."
Sango and Miroku go back to the wooden phallus and circle it again.
Miroku says, "How delightful to meet so beautiful a maiden!"
'Keade did offer to make this our wedding night, as is traditional, but I told her no. I don't want Sango to become like my mother after my father died. Once Naraku is destroyed, though . . . ' Miroku thinks.
"How happy I am," responds Sango, "That I should meet such a handsome youth!"
'How I wish this was our wedding night, Keade did offer to make it so. But . . . Until Naraku is gone . . . I will kill him and I can't do that if I'm pregnant or have a child.' Sango thinks.
Miroku embraces Sango and lifts her off her feet and lays Sango down on the stage. "This time, we do it right." He bends down to kiss her. Sango shifts her head, so the kiss touches her ear, not her mouth.
"We're not in love, Monk." She hisses, "don't pretend otherwise."
He swallows, 'I had hoped, tonight, she'd say that she loved me, but . . . ' he thinks. His middle leg softens for a second, but Miroku hears and sees the activities of the villagers and his leg grows again.
The villagers, by this time, are moving and groaning among themselves. The males are positioning themselves above the women and are waiting for Miroku's signal.
Miroku takes himself in hand and lowers himself into Sango.
Sango moans under him, her body reacting naturally to the stimulation from Miroku's body. Miroku smiles at Sango and while he does not kiss her lips, his mouth does apply itself to every other part of her body he can reach.
"We may not be in love, Sango. But I do love your body and I will make tonight special..." Miroku whispers.
"Ahhmmm... I do want to enjoy myself tonight..." She whispers back as the pleasures of her body increase.
Keade' speech:
"This process was more appropriate and in accordance with the law of nature. After this, all the children born to them left nothing to be desired." She lowers the microphone.
Miroku lowering himself onto Sango was the signal the villagers were waiting for.
The village's spring fertility festival orgy begins . . .
"There is more to the story, but I don't think they're interested." Keade thinks as she puts down the microphone and looks over the village. The villagers are all paired up and are joining together. Next to her Inu-yasha and Kagome are joined.
She concentrates on her mystical senses. She can sense the mystical power of creation beginning generated by the villagers. The glowing fireflies of light that were around the village are moving in and between the villagers. They are gathering up that mystical energy and spreading it out among the fields.
"A good night." Go-Shin-Boku-kami says in a whisper to Keade. He is, by now, standing behind her.
Keade points to Inu-yasha and Kagome, "they, by themselves, are generating enough power to fertilize the fields."
"Yes. I knew that would happen, when I asked you to include them in the festival." He says.
"I wonder if... there is more than that," Keade starts to say, but Go-Shin-Boku-kami interrupts.
"That is for the future." He touches her and her clothes slide open. "Tonight, I want the young bride that was given to me, oh, so many years ago." Keade glows and her body changes becoming younger.
'Keeping that well powered drains me more and more each day, but . . . Tonight, I can borrow some of the power that is here and at least for tonight . . . ' He thinks as he embraces and kisses her. Go-Shin-Boku-kami lowers the younger Keade to the ground and joins with her.

authors' note:
I thought about doing Sango's thoughts about her family and sleeping as a flashback . . . But, to that scene properly . . . Especially Kagome's trying to explain modern sex ed . . . That's a good sized story in and of itself. (One these days, who knows . . . )
Sango and sleeping alone. I know that Kirara was not seen in the village scenes when Sango first appeared, but, those scenes are limited and I'm going to assume that Kirara was there, but wasn't shown, to increase the surprise value when Kirara first showed up at Sango's destroyed village later.
Sango's family and privacy: Privacy is, to large degree, a modern western invention. It was the custom at this time (and to some families in Japan today it still is the custom) that families slept together. Kids, parents, grandparents, and any other relatives would sleep together in the same room. During the winter months this was for warmth (leaving a large fire going in the middle of a wooden house with paper walls is not a good idea, OK . . . ), but sleeping together happened all the time. A child sleeping alone in their own room . . . would be almost unthinkable during this time. Even the Emperor and Shogun always had people sleeping with them. And I don't mean sexually either. (Although that did happen a lot, but I'm not going to go into that aspect of it, here.)
Also, houses were made with only thin rice paper walls between rooms. And many huts had the same type of wall on the outside of the building. Sounds, light from candles casting reflection on the wall, etc., privacy in a modern western sense did not occur. Sango, who grew up in a small village in a basically normal household (I'm assuming, hers father profession wouldn't change this aspect of her life), would have seen and heard a lot more than a modern child would.
(As an aside, about families sleeping together . . . the mother/son and/or the father/daughter relationship in many Japanese families is one of the strongest bonds in the family. I'll let you take that statement anyway you choose.)

Keade offer to marry Sango and Miroku. This dance would have been done by a newly married couple. (That ceremony would have been held in the afternoon.) She offered, but they said no, with the reasons as given above.
Miroku and Sango not declaring themselves in love with each other... Tonight is a one time event, as far as Sango is concerned, remember...

About the gods.... Everybody in Japan is the children of gods. Everything in Japan, from the very ground, the plants, animals, and people are the children of gods. The gods of Japan, especially in this time period, were everywhere and in everything. 800 gods were mentioned above. Other figures say 3,000. I think there are tens of thousands of different Shinto shrines in Japan. Each will have it's own god or gods.
Go-Shin-Boku-kami . . . Everything is Japan, in Shinto religion, has a soul, spirit, or Kami. There are legends about trees turning into humans and marrying.
As far as the end part with the mystical vision that Keade had . . . a quote from my source.
While the couples frolicked in the fields, it was widely believed that when the male semen ejaculated into the female, the gods auguring human fertility would be simultaneously moved to cause germination of the crops.
And I used writers' licence for the visualization.
About the well. More on that next chapter..

He inclines his head at Keade, and as the light reflects of his hair, everyone can see his green hair. "This is the festival to renew my land, is it not?" He speaks and his voice reverberates throughout the village. The villagers all turn and stare at him. Then, as one, they bow low to him.
They whisper to each other. "He's here . . . " "The god tree. In person . . . " "The festival will be great this year . . . "
Miroku looks at Go-Shin-Boku-kami, 'I always knew he existed, but for him to manifest in human shape.' He mentally sighs, 'Tonight . . . things will happen. I can feel the power build.'
Sango thinks as she looks at him, 'the gods are watching, I cannot make any mistakes, tonight.'
'My grandfather was right . . . ' Kagome thinks in awe.
'So, the bastard shows himself. How I wish I wasn't sealed . . . I'd show him . . . let me be sealed against him for fifty years . . . ' Inu-yasha thinks angrily, until Kagome's hand brushes up against him and other thoughts dominate.
He walks over and stands beside Keade. Keade bows low. "Let it begin. The land awaits." He commands.
Keade begins to speak into the microphone.
Keade's speech "Before the heavens and the earth came into existence, all was a chaos, unimaginably limitless and without definite shape or form. Eon followed eon: then, lo! Out of this boundless, shapeless mass something light and transparent rose up and formed the heaven. This was the Plain of High Heaven, in which materialized a deity called Ame-no-Minaka-Nushi-no-Mikoto (the Deity-of-the-August-Center-of-Heaven). Next the heavens gave birth to a deity named Takami-Musubi-no-Mikoto (the High-August-Producing-Wondrous-Deity), followed by a third called Kammi-Musubi-no-Mikoto (the Divine-Producing-Wondrous-Deity). These three divine beings are called the Three Creating Deities."
Miroku and Sango begin to circle the stage. They are doing some very basic dance movements as they move. They move counterclockwise around the large phallus that has been set in the center of the stage. Either the sake or a lack of practice is causing them to move a slow and cautious way.
'The villagers have always been reserved around us. We weren't part of the village. By doing this, Miroku and I will become part of the village.' Sango thinks. 'It's different from killing a demon to get accepted into my village, but . . . sigh. How I wish, I could have done this the way I had always dreamed.'
'I wish I'd been able to teach her a few things, to make tonight go more smoothly, but she did not want to practice . . . ' Miroku thinks as he watches Sango move. 'But, she's moving beautifully as it is . . . '
Keade's speech:
"In the meantime what was heavy and opaque in the void gradually precipitated and became the earth, but it had taken an immeasurably long time before it condensed sufficiently to form solid ground. In its earliest stages, for millions and millions of years, the earth may be said to have resembled oil floating, medusa-like, upon the face of the waters. Suddenly like the sprouting up of a reed, a pair of immortals were born from its bosom. These were the Deity Umashi-Ashi-Kahibi-Hikoji-no-Mikoto (the Pleasant-Reed-Shoot-Prince-Elder-Deity) and the Deity Ame-no-Tokotachi-no-Mikoto (The Heavenly-Eternally-Standing-Deity). . . ."
Sango whispers to Miroku as they circle, "Remember, monk, this is supposed to be the first time for anyone. So act like the nervous teen-ager you never were."
"You wound me, Lady Sango." He whispers back. "Will you know what to do?"
"Of course, I know what to do." She hisses back.
'I've seen my parents do it, many times.' She thinks as she remembers her childhood. She remembers sleeping together with her family, like every family in her village did. One of the weirdest things about Kagome's time, and one thing she'll never mention to her friend, is how she occasionally pities Kagome.
How strange and lonely Kagome's childhood must have been. Sango has always slept with her mother and father. Waking up in her parents arms, were, now that they are gone, one of the things she misses about them the most.
Sango's mouth twitches into a semi-smile, 'I don't remember a night when I've ever slept alone. If my parents weren't there, then I slept with my grandparents before they died, or my brother. Even on my extermination trips, I had Kirara with me. And now I sleep with Kirara. And Kagome has slept alone in her own bed for years . . . ' she thinks.
She remembers, as a child, waking up during a cold winter night and asking, out of a natural curiosity, what her mother and father were doing to each other. Her parents treated her like a real person and answered her questions truthfully and to the best of their ability.
Her smile grows a little, as she remembers how embarrassed Kagome was one bath. They began talking about reproduction and how they learned about it. Kagome's tale of how she learned about something so basic and necessary was one of the oddest things she'd ever heard. The comparison between how easy and truthfully her parents told her and how hard it was for Kagome to learn the same thing was a conversion that struck home for Sango the differences between Kagome's time and her time.
'She's smiling . . . perhaps tonight can be more than just a Shinto ritual . . . ' Miroku thinks as he smiles at Sango.
'Now, I have to smile back at him, for the villagers . . . ' Sango thinks as her smiles fixes itself on her face.
Keade speech:
"Many gods were thus born, by sprouting up, in succession, and so they increased in number, but as long as the world remained in a chaotic state, there was nothing for them to do. Whereupon, all the Heavenly deities summoned the two divine beings, Izanagi and Izanami, and bade them descend to the nebulous place, and by helping each other, to consolidate it into terra firma. "We bestow on you," they said, "this precious treasure, with which to rule the land, the creation of which we command you to perform." So saying they handed them a spear called Ama-no-Nuboko, embellished with costly gems. The divine couple received respectfully and ceremoniously the sacred weapon and then withdrew from the presence of the Deities, ready to perform their august commission."
Miroku and Sango stop dancing.
Sango removes her robe and stands nude on the stage. 'I hate to show all my scars like this, but...' she thinks.
Miroku removes his robe and stands nude on the stage. 'Concentrate, do not react, do not grow . . . ' he thinks.
"Is something wrong?" the villagers whisper among themselves as they stare at Miroku's crotch. Normally by this time, the man on stage is very excited . . .
Miroku smiles and waves at the villagers, he knows what is going through their minds and wishes to calm them.
They go to the large phallus. They bow to it. Then they grab and lift it up. Miroku and Sango circle the stage holding the phallus between them. As they circle, the villagers touch and caress it.
Some men and some women do "accidently" touch Sango and Miroku, both of whom accept those touches without comment. After touching the phallus, the villagers loosen or remove, in some cases, their clothes, and they start touching and caressing themselves and/or the person standing next to them.
'Stupid body . . . Stop reacting . . . ' Sango curses her own body at it reacts to the simulation that the villagers gave it. 'I shouldn't like this. Good girls are not supposed to like it when people look at them . . . ' but she can feel the excitement grow in her body.
Keade speech:
"Proceeding forthwith to the Floating Bridge of Heaven, which lay between the heaven and the earth, they stood awhile to gaze on that which lay below. What they beheld was a world not yet condensed, but looking like a sea of filmy fog floating to and fro in the air, exhaling the while an inexpressibly fragrant odor. They were, at first, perplexed just how and where to start, but at length Izanagi suggested to his companion that they should try the effect of stirring up the brine with their spear. So saying he pushed down the jeweled shaft and found that it touched something. Then drawing it up, he examined it and observed that the great drops which fell from it almost immediately coagulated into an island, which is, to this day, the Island of Onokoro. Delighted at the result, the two deities descended forthwith from the Floating Bridge to reach the miraculously created island. In this island they thenceforth dwelt and made it the basis of their subsequent task of creating a country."
After circling the stage, Miroku and Sango place the large phallus back in the center of the stage. They bow to the wooden phallus, again. They step back a few meters. They bow to each other.
"Ready, Lady Sango." Miroku whispers. 'I wish we were doing this as man and wife. Doing it when we so would increase it's effect. But, she'll never accept me, because she thinks I'm a pervert.' He thinks.
"Remember, monk. Tonight only." Sango whispers back. 'I wish we were doing this with him as my husband. My father wanted me to save myself for a good husband. But, he'll always chase other women.' She thinks.
Keade speech:
"Then wishing to become espoused, they erected in the center oPound the island a pillar, the Heavenly August Pillar, and built around it a great palace called the Hall of Eight Fathoms. Thereupon the male Deity turning to the left and the female Deity to the right, each went round the pillar in opposite directions."
Miroku starts to move to his left.
Sango starts to move to her right.
They stop a meter or so away from each other.
Sango, in a loud voice, says, "How delightful it is to meet so handsome a youth!" A glow forms around her as she speaks.
Miroku, also in a loud voice, says, "How delightful I am to have meet with such a lovely maiden!" A glow forms around him as he speaks.
"There is a place on our bodies that is different." Miroku speaks as he points to Sango's crotch.
She nods and says, "In my body there is a place which is the source of femininity." She touches her herself at that place.
Miroku say, "In my body there is a place which is the source of masculinity." He touches himself at that place. "I wish to unite this source place of my body to the source-place of your body."
"How?" she asks.
One of the villagers brings a basket with a couple of wagtail birds on the stage. The birds legs are tied, with a string, to the bottom of the basket. He places some grain in the basket. The birds eat the rice. The birds large tail feathers go up and down as they eat.
"Like that." Miroku points. He, finally, relaxes his concentration and allows his body to react naturally to the presence of a beautiful woman.
"Oh . . . such concentration . . . " the villagers whisper. "So large . . . " All the couples near the stage are laying down with each other by this time. They ones further from the stage are kneeling next to each other. They are all watching the stage and positioning themselves next to each other. The caresses and touches are getting more and more excited.
The villager releases the two birds and leaves the stage.
Sango and Miroku embrace each other and lay down on the stage next to the large wooden phallus.
Sango pushes Miroku to the ground and rises above him. "I'm on top, this time, monk." She whispers as she grasps his middle leg. She places it between her legs, but not inside her.
"Yes, Sango." He whispers as he begins to move his middle leg between her thighs.
After a minute of going up and down, "we need to go on to the next step, Sango." He whispers. "Ready."
"Yes, monk." She swallows hard.
Sango lowers herself onto Miroku's manhood. It enters her smoothly and easily.
Miroku's left eyebrow rises as he looks a question at Sango.
Sango blushes. "I lost it when I was twelve. Father was training me to fight demons. A girls body isn't made for that and . . . " She answers in a whisper as she blushes from the memory.
'Ahh, yes, fighting and running will cause it to break' Miroku thinks. He smiles, 'But, still she is excited, otherwise, it wouldn't feel soooo nice. And even if this isn't love, I can at least make sure she enjoys herself.'
Miroku places his hand between them and moves it down to the source of femininity. 'This will make her feel good.'
Sango stops his hand and whispers, "remember, monk. This is the first time and we should be fumbling around."
"Which reminds me . . . " she whispers as she puts her hand between them. She smiles at Miroku and using her fingernails, pierces his skin on the inside of his upper thigh.
Miroku, with a pained expression, whispers, "why?"
"Because the villagers will expect some blood. And you're donating it." She smiles as she answers.
"Sigh . . . " Miroku pulls Sango close and Sango starts to move on top of him.
After a few minutes' Miroku cries, "Ahhh . . . " and Sango cries, "good . . . "
Sango lifts herself off Miroku and lays down beside him. She reaches down between her legs and shows her hand, which is wet with blood and other fluids, to the villagers.
"Ahhh . . . " the villagers moan. Some of the younger men have already lost control, but, their companions are helping them recover for the coming act.
"Your body loved it." he whispers into her ear.
"My body is a fool." she whispers back. "Besides, I'm sure you know all there is about making a woman's body foolish."
Keade speech:
"They fell into connubial relationship, having been instructed by two wagtails which flew to the spot. Presently the Goddess bore her divine consort a son, but the baby was weak and boneless as a leech. Disgusted with it, they abandoned it on the waters, putting it in a boat made of reeds."
Sango's right arm reaches toward the bottom of the phallus and brushes against a hidden compartment. She opens it and takes out a doll.
Sango slides the doll under her and between her legs. From between her legs, she lifts the doll over her head. The doll looks like a cross between a leech and human. It is full of soft fabric and has no hard parts. Sango and Miroku stand up.
"Our son is not a good son." Miroku declares. He and Sango go to the edge of the stage. The reed basket that held the birds is still there. They put the doll into the basket, close the lid and secure it. Miroku picks it up and throws the basket into the night.
Keade speech:
"The two Deities, now sorely disappointed at their failure and full of misgivings, ascended to Heaven to inquire of the Heavenly Deities the causes of their misfortunes. The latter performed the ceremony of divining.
Go-Shin-Boku-kami speaks to the village, "It is the woman's fault. In turning round the Pillar, it was not right and proper that the female Deity should in speaking have taken precedence of the male. That is the reason."
Keade speech:
"The two Deities saw the truth of this divine suggestion, and made up their minds to rectify the error. So, returning to the earth again, they went once more around the Heavenly Pillar."
Sango and Miroku go back to the wooden phallus and circle it again.
Miroku says, "How delightful to meet so beautiful a maiden!"
'Keade did offer to make this our wedding night, as is traditional, but I told her no. I don't want Sango to become like my mother after my father died. Once Naraku is destroyed, though . . . ' Miroku thinks.
"How happy I am," responds Sango, "That I should meet such a handsome youth!"
'How I wish this was our wedding night, Keade did offer to make it so. But . . . Until Naraku is gone . . . I will kill him and I can't do that if I'm pregnant or have a child.' Sango thinks.
Miroku embraces Sango and lifts her off her feet and lays Sango down on the stage. "This time, we do it right." He bends down to kiss her. Sango shifts her head, so the kiss touches her ear, not her mouth.
"We're not in love, Monk." She hisses, "don't pretend otherwise."
He swallows, 'I had hoped, tonight, she'd say that she loved me, but . . . ' he thinks. His middle leg softens for a second, but Miroku hears and sees the activities of the villagers and his leg grows again.
The villagers, by this time, are moving and groaning among themselves. The males are positioning themselves above the women and are waiting for Miroku's signal.
Miroku takes himself in hand and lowers himself into Sango.
Sango moans under him, her body reacting naturally to the stimulation from Miroku's body. Miroku smiles at Sango and while he does not kiss her lips, his mouth does apply itself to every other part of her body he can reach.
"We may not be in love, Sango. But I do love your body and I will make tonight special..." Miroku whispers.
"Ahhmmm... I do want to enjoy myself tonight..." She whispers back as the pleasures of her body increase.
Keade' speech:
"This process was more appropriate and in accordance with the law of nature. After this, all the children born to them left nothing to be desired." She lowers the microphone.
Miroku lowering himself onto Sango was the signal the villagers were waiting for.
The village's spring fertility festival orgy begins . . .
"There is more to the story, but I don't think they're interested." Keade thinks as she puts down the microphone and looks over the village. The villagers are all paired up and are joining together. Next to her Inu-yasha and Kagome are joined.
She concentrates on her mystical senses. She can sense the mystical power of creation beginning generated by the villagers. The glowing fireflies of light that were around the village are moving in and between the villagers. They are gathering up that mystical energy and spreading it out among the fields.
"A good night." Go-Shin-Boku-kami says in a whisper to Keade. He is, by now, standing behind her.
Keade points to Inu-yasha and Kagome, "they, by themselves, are generating enough power to fertilize the fields."
"Yes. I knew that would happen, when I asked you to include them in the festival." He says.
"I wonder if... there is more than that," Keade starts to say, but Go-Shin-Boku-kami interrupts.
"That is for the future." He touches her and her clothes slide open. "Tonight, I want the young bride that was given to me, oh, so many years ago." Keade glows and her body changes becoming younger.
'Keeping that well powered drains me more and more each day, but . . . Tonight, I can borrow some of the power that is here and at least for tonight . . . ' He thinks as he embraces and kisses her. Go-Shin-Boku-kami lowers the younger Keade to the ground and joins with her.

authors' note:
I thought about doing Sango's thoughts about her family and sleeping as a flashback . . . But, to that scene properly . . . Especially Kagome's trying to explain modern sex ed . . . That's a good sized story in and of itself. (One these days, who knows . . . )
Sango and sleeping alone. I know that Kirara was not seen in the village scenes when Sango first appeared, but, those scenes are limited and I'm going to assume that Kirara was there, but wasn't shown, to increase the surprise value when Kirara first showed up at Sango's destroyed village later.
Sango's family and privacy: Privacy is, to large degree, a modern western invention. It was the custom at this time (and to some families in Japan today it still is the custom) that families slept together. Kids, parents, grandparents, and any other relatives would sleep together in the same room. During the winter months this was for warmth (leaving a large fire going in the middle of a wooden house with paper walls is not a good idea, OK . . . ), but sleeping together happened all the time. A child sleeping alone in their own room . . . would be almost unthinkable during this time. Even the Emperor and Shogun always had people sleeping with them. And I don't mean sexually either. (Although that did happen a lot, but I'm not going to go into that aspect of it, here.)
Also, houses were made with only thin rice paper walls between rooms. And many huts had the same type of wall on the outside of the building. Sounds, light from candles casting reflection on the wall, etc., privacy in a modern western sense did not occur. Sango, who grew up in a small village in a basically normal household (I'm assuming, hers father profession wouldn't change this aspect of her life), would have seen and heard a lot more than a modern child would.
(As an aside, about families sleeping together . . . the mother/son and/or the father/daughter relationship in many Japanese families is one of the strongest bonds in the family. I'll let you take that statement anyway you choose.)

Keade offer to marry Sango and Miroku. This dance would have been done by a newly married couple. (That ceremony would have been held in the afternoon.) She offered, but they said no, with the reasons as given above.

About the gods.... Everybody in Japan is the children of gods. Everything in Japan, from the very ground, the plants, animals, and people are the children of gods. The gods of Japan, especially in this time period, were everywhere and in everything. 800 gods were mentioned above. Other figures say 3,000. I think there are tens of thousands of different Shinto shrines in Japan. Each will have it's own god or gods.
Go-Shin-Boku-kami . . . Everything is Japan, in Shinto religion, has a soul, spirit, or Kami. There are legends about trees turning into humans and marrying.
As far as the end part with the mystical vision that Keade had . . . a quote from my source.
While the couples frolicked in the fields, it was widely believed that when the male semen ejaculated into the female, the gods auguring human fertility would be simultaneously moved to cause germination of the crops.
And I used writers' licence for the visualization.
