OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Kagome rests on the huge king size bed looking at the ceiling; her hands rest behind her head with her elbows bent.
“A velociraptor; impossible. But it tore Sesshoumaru to pieces or I think it did but his arm was torn off. I could have done something; anything but I did not. Instead I watched the love of my life being torn apart in front of my eyes.”
It had been two days since she took refuge in the hotel room. It had all she'd ever need, so there was no reason to leave. If there was any one else on this floor then must be afraid to leave also.
The television had go crazy with the news coverage on the raptors and how many the things had killed and how they were taking over the earth. One amateur had caught a group of raptors tearing a family apart, it was gruesome; one raptor had swallowed a baby whole while the other picked and ripped at the mother, father, little girl, and teenage boy. They were screaming at the tops of their lungs and the camera did not stop moving. The mother pleaded to the Kamis to save her children but her pleas fell on deaf ears as her children were decapitated before her very eyes. During all of this the camera did not stop moving.
[Knock] [Knock]
Kagome rises with caution and walks to the door.
[Knock] [Knock]
It could be the raptors but it is impossible to reach this floor without a key.
“Please,” cries a muffled voice, “please help me if you're there.”
Kagome looked out the peephole and noticed that it was a woman with magenta eye shadow and a long ponytail at the top of her hair.
“Please!”
Kagome opens the door to let the woman in; she's a mess. Her clothes are torn in all sorts of places, she has scratches on her arms and legs, and her eyes are red and puffy from tears.
“Thank you, I'm Sango.”
“My name is Kagome.”
Kagome closes the door and points to the couch. Sango got the idea and sat down on the huge couch, nervously. Sango stared down at her hands as Kagome walked over slowly.
“What happened to you?” Kagome asks.
“Well, I was one of people in the mall when the things first attacked. I was with my brother, Kohaku when we saw it; it was terrifying. We managed to make it to the elevator but it stopped between the third and fourth floor. We did not know which floor the raptors made it to since we were on the second, so we climbed out the top.
“We made it into one of vents and lived in the kitchens for the night and into the next day. I awoke to a noise and saw that the raptors had made it into the kitchens so I naturally got Kohaku into the vents first. I went to another vent to through them off when I heard a scream. It was Kohaku. The scream was so loud and blood-curdling that it scared the raptors off.
“I went into the vent that I put Kohaku in and found nothing but lots of blood. My brother was no where to be found in the long vents. I went all the way down and back and found not another exit or connecting vent. So something must have dragged him off.
“For the past day I have slept in the vents and tried different hotel rooms but no one answered the door, except for you, Kagome. The vents that connect to the rooms are locked except for the ones in the hallways. Thank you so much.”
Sango begins to cry and Kagome puts a comforting arm on her shoulder. She continued to cry and cry. The moment reminded Kagome when she had accepted Sesshoumaru's fate. She poured her eyes out and nearly threw the engagement ring out the window when she remembered that this ring was all that she had left of Sesshoumaru. This ring symbolized his love for her and the future that they were supposed to have.
The young female stops crying when she notices that Kagome is unconsciously twirling a beautiful ring around her left ring finger.
“Is that an engagement ring?”
Kagome nods.
“Where is he?”
“Dead; a raptor got him when they attacked the mall two days ago.”
“I'm so sorry.”
“That's okay because one day I'll kill them all. I'm sorry for brother though.”
“How old are you?” Sango asks randomly.
“18 and you?”
“The same and you look so young to get married but I never believed that marriage had an age. But as long as both were over 18 then it is okay with me.”
“I agree.”
“Your ring seems to wink at you,” Sango points out.
“I never noticed that.”
The two women continued to talk as the television continued to produce news on the development of the raptors.
“A camp has been set up in the remote areas of Japan for all followers. If you are still alive then please call 55584762 for assistance and someone will assist you. Our hearts in the news station goes out to all those in peril and who have lost loved ones.”
“Where's the phone?” asks Sango with excitement.
“I already called the number about ten minutes before you showed; the man said that someone will be here tonight. He thought that I would wait five more days, so I said that I am the fiancé of Sesshoumaru Taisho and they'll be here tonight. So your very lucky to have knocked today and not tomorrow.”
“Wow! You're going to be Mrs. Sesshoumaru Taisho; damn you're lucky! How do they know which room to come to? And how do they know that you aren't lying?”
“Was going to be Mrs. Sesshoumaru Taisho,” Kagome corrected, “I have my ways and there is a password that the family is only associated with,” she answered each of Sango's questions in the ordered that they were asked.
[Helicopter blades thrashing]
A man appears on the balcony of Kagome's room wearing all black like a ninja. He lands on the balcony with still attached to a harness that is attached to the helicopter. Sango looked amazement while Kagome facial expression spoke, `This is nothing new.'
“Which one of you is Mrs. Taisho?” inquired the manly voice.
“I am,” Kagome answers and steps forward.
“What is the password?”
Kagome walks over to the man and whispers it into his covered ear.
“Good then get your companion and we will be on our way.”
The trio leaves swinging under the helicopter like in the movies. The view that they see though is devastating; building are on fire or no longer standing, bodies and limbs lie on the streets while blood is every where else.
“Who are you?” yells Sango.
“I'm Miroku and I am part of a special rescue operation to rescue and protect all important families in Tokyo.”
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
`I will avenge you, Sesshoumaru. Every one of these bastards will die,' Kagome vows to herself while refusing to look back but to only look towards the future.
Sango on the other hand looks back to the balcony where her room was and sees what makes it stick out so. Outside on the outer rails of the balcony lies a bed sheet with black ink that spoke volumes.
“MRS. TAISHO IS IN HERE!”
“Where did you get the black ink, Kagome!” yells Sango while trying to be heard over the chopping blades.
“Raptor's blood,” she replies coldly.
Sango did not try to ask where she got the blood and she did not think that she wanted to know.
`Poor Kagome.'
The sky weeps on the destruction and chaos that was once Tokyo.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I hope that everyone has enjoyed this chapter as I have developed a little background. This chapter is not important but it lays ground for Kagome's determination in future chapters.
