Kagome woke up to the sound of her brothers crying. She groaned and slowly opened her left eye to peak at the room she barely recognized. She missed silence she used to have two days ago.

So what made today much different from two days ago?

Two days ago she lived in Las Vegas with her father. Two days ago, she had her own room and a house to call home; friends and memories were made in the area she spent the last two years, building her reputation, finally reaching the 'coolest chick' title in school.
Now, she was sharing one room with her mother and her brother. She had a single bed, while her mother and brother shared a queen size. Kagome missed the privacy she had in Vegas; she could cry alone, with no one there to wonder what was wrong with her. She was very good at hiding her emotions.

Now, if she cried, her mother would make fun of her. Her brother, being only 5 had the mouth of a sailor. The five year old spoiled brat was always using 'shit' and 'fuck' in full complete sentences. Where he learnt it from, she would never know.

Kagome and her mother were like baking soda and vinegar. When together, expect a mess. A train wreck. They always argued, about the smallest things. You could say Kagome's mom had OCD. She was very controlling, and to add the cherry on top, the bitch had a mouth on her. If you disobeyed her, you would have been given the cold shoulder treatment, mixed with a lot of 'tsks' and annoying sighs; this was her way to let you know that she fucking hated your guts at the moment. But just as quick as she gets mad, she does a 180 with her personality, as if it were a switch and acts as if everything were fine. It caused a strain in Kagome's heart and mind.

"What the hell does she want with me.." Kagome would ponder on this question for hours, and never came up with an answer.

Kagome Higurashi. She had dark hair, somewhat black looking but when in sun light, it would appear to be brown.
Her eyes were a deep blue, with specks of grey near the iris. She had a cute little button nose, which accentuated her heart shaped face. Her lips; full and luscious, were naturally rose colored. She had a graceful neck, and a lean body, graced with curves in just the right places. Standing just at 5'5", her legs went on for days with perfectly shaped calves. They were one of her greatest assets, along with her equally proportioned breast and butt.

However, there was a downfall to her good looks. Easily you could've mistake Kagome to be at least 21, maybe even 22. But she was only 17.

Yes, 17. She didn't feel 17 though. Sometimes, she would question if her parents were lying to her about her birth year. She didn't look like most 17 year olds, and she certainly didn't act like one.

She was a smart young lady. Both book smart and street smart. You could go to her for anything; advice, beauty secrets, homework, and if you needed someone's shoulder to cry on, she was the best candidate for that. She would listen to your problems and help you solve it. She would never leave a person alone in times of need. She was very dedicated when it came to her friends and family.

Kagome was wise beyond her years and gave excellent advice about any situation. Some of the advice she gave, she could've used herself, but for some reason, whenever advice is needed for herself, she would get stuck; or maybe she just yearned for a figure to do as she does. Yet, she was the only one of her kind to have a heart and to actually give a shit. She hated this about herself. She cared too much about everything- even when she would swear she didn't.

She was at everyone's beck and call.

"Kagome, do this, do that, fix this, and take care of that" she would do everything without hesitation, but never received any recognition for her hard work.

She just wanted a thank you. That's it. Because when a person says thank you, it means that they appreciate you.

Did they not appreciate the time and effort Kagome has put to being practically everyone's mom? That's what everyone told her. It took the place of a 'thank you'

"You're such a mom, Kagome"
As if it were more of an insult-- or a joke.
She would prefer to just be called nice, but the world was screw up in so many ways that the word nice didn't exist in the everyday vocabulary. How can it, when there were kids being raped and mothers microwaving their month old babies? Eleven year old girls who vowed to be like Paris Hilton, were already giving blow jobs to boys in the back of the bus.

The world was fucked up.

Her only confidant was her cousin, Sango. That was her savior, the person whom she could depend on. They were the same, but different in so many ways. They both shared the passion for clothes and fashion. Make up and accessories. However, Kagome was more of a shy, quiet type while Sango was loud and never afraid to express herself. Kagome yearned to be like Sango, but in a way was happy she wasn't.

Sango was 20 years old, and was spoiled rotten by her mother, Mayumi. Everything Sango wanted, she would get. Sango was a very unappreciative person when it came to her mom. They just didn't really get along, because her mother just hated Sango's attitude.

However, Kagome was very close to Sango's mother. Mayumi yearned for a daughter like Kagome. So sweet and humble. Everyone loved Kagome, whereas everyone knew Sango was a very dominant person who wanted everything to go her way. Sango was too much of a handful.

Kagome loved her Auntie Mayumi. Kagome wanted to be like her; independent, smart and successful. Mayumi was the perfect woman; one glance at her and you knew she demanded respect. She had a royal look about her. Pure perfection.

Kagome wished she was all these things.

But Kagome was 17, and still in high school. Although instead of going to any public high school, she opted for home schooling. This allowed her to go out as much as she would like, only having to go to class twice a week to drop off work. She had a lot of free time, which meant going out and shopping, spending the allowance of 400 dollars a month she got from her dad. It was like a paycheck really. Why get a job when she could do nothing and receive such a hearty amount of cash?

Shun, that was her father's name. Kagome and her father never got along as well. They were just too different. He was a man and he didn't understand that his daughter needed a father she could trust and easily get along with, who would be more tolerant when it came to emotions and the aspects of growing up. Kagome tried to get to know her father, but her father was always kept to himself. He liked his privacy; he was such a hermit. He never brought home women, never talked about his personal life. She wanted him to move on, thinking that her father was still affected by the damage her own mother had done. But then again, she enjoyed that his attention would all have to be on her, instead of a different woman. She needed a father, and he was there. Emotionally however, he was distant, very far. And she wished that it didn't have to be that way. Maybe one day, they could meet in the middle, but as far as she knew, they would have an awkward relationship for now.

Kagome got up from her bed, stretching out her arms, shaking the tingling sensation she had in it. She sighed and ran her fingers through her tangled hair.
“What a mess..” She thought.

She looked around the room and already felt claustrophobic. God, it was terrible having to share a bedroom. The room was big, thank god, but there was just so much crap in it. How is it possible to shove 3 peoples worth of crap into a master bedroom?

At least they had their own bathroom.

Kagome stood up, and felt like a hammer just knocked her upside the head. Why was she feeling so lightheaded lately? Maybe it was due to the stress she has been dealing with. She closed her eyes, bit her tongue and took in a couple deep breaths from her nose. This helped with the bile she already tasted in her mouth.

She stood up again and went into the bathroom. She stared at herself in the mirror to stabilize herself.
“You're fucking weird,” she told herself.
She probably was imagining this sudden sickness, probably because she was homesick.

She took off all of her clothing, and turned on the hot shower. She never bathed in cold water, because she didn't have the guts to do so. You could already see the steam rising and sticking onto the ceiling. She slid the glass sliding door open and stepped into the shower.

“At least they have hot water,” she said to nobody in particular.

She stayed in the shower, brushing her teeth to rid away the taste of bile in her mouth. She leaned her head against the tile wall, closing her eyes and just concentrating on brushing her teeth. She let the hot water cascade down her tired form, each droplet stinging her skin deliciously as it woke up her senses and became more alert to the world.
She poured shampoo into the palm of her hand and mixed it into her hair. As the shampoo settled into her scalp, she took out a loofah, poured body wash on it, and started scrubbing at her dry skin. She had a strict shower routine, making sure to exfoliate as much as possible, leaving her skin soft and supple. She rinsed her body and hair, getting rid of the dirt and grime that had accumulated while she slept. She poured Conditioner into her hand and transferred the palmful into her hair. After this, she took a razor and began shaving her legs. While shaving her second leg, she felt light headed again. She put the razor down and quickly leaned her entire body against the tile wall.
“Fuck..”
She started taking deep breaths again.
“What the hell…”
She couldn't even stand on her own anymore, as she fell into the tub. Along with her fall, the razor blade and bottles of shampoo, conditioner and soap fell on top of her. She crawled to the front of the tub and reached up to the bathtub handles to turn off the only water running: hot water.

She crawled out of the tub, grabbing the towel that hung from the towel rack attached to the sliding door. She stood up from the bathroom floor and ran to her bed. She collapsed onto her bed, completely wet with conditioner still in her hair. She gasped for deep breaths. Luckily, there was a bottled water right next to her. She grabbed the water, twisted off the cap and let the room temperature water slide easily down her throat. After finishing the entire bottle, she threw it to her side and closed her eyes. Kagome did not know what was going on with her body.

After she rested for a couple of minutes, she got up and started drying herself slowly. She noticed that with quick movements, she would easily get dizzy, but if she took it slow, then it wouldn't be as bad. Kagome dried off her body and put on dry clothes. She started putting on her make up and fixing herself up. Despite her current condition, she was meeting up with Sango today. She couldn't wait to see her cousin; this will be the first time she saw her in the last two years. Sango was also bringing her boyfriend, Miroku. Kagome had missed both of the most important people in her life. She loved both of them, and she loved both of them together. She just couldn't wait until she got to see them.

Kagome's phone rang. She looked at the screen, only to reveal Sango's name and picture.

“Hello?? Sango??”
“Heyyyy Kagome!!!!! “
“Where are you? Are you guys almost here, I need to get out of this damn house!!”
“We're two minutes away, so come outside already!”
“Okay!” and with that being said, Kagome grabbed her purse and went to the front door, opening it and instantly seeing that Sango had lied to her and was standing right there in front of her.

“Sango!!!”
“Kags!!!”

The two girls squealed in delight and grabbed each other in a forceful hug.

“I've missed you! Where's Miroku?” Kagome craned her neck around, looking for her cousin's man.
“He's in the car, let's just go!”

Kagome followed Sango to the driveway and saw Miroku sitting inside of Sango's blue Toyota Celica. Miroku was going to be the driver today, while Sango and Kagome caught up in gossip and just asked anything and everything about each other.

“So, Kagome,” Sango shifted her body around, so she could look at Kagome, who was sitting in the back seat, “What happened to Lee?”

Lee. That was Kagome's last boyfriend from Vegas. The guy was sweet the first couple months, but his playboy ways starting revealing itself after 3 months of dating. 3 months and Kagome had already grown tired of the guy. He kept wanting sex. Sex Sex Sex, and while Kagome would give him what he wanted, she just wanted to hang out and do fun things.

“We broke up.” Kagome said matter of factly, as if Sango should have already known.
“Why?” Sango asked, with a puzzled look on her face.

“Because! He was stupid and immature. He would just use me! Like I'm some damn trophy to show off.” Kagome let out a huff of air, which let her cousin know that the topic was off limits.
Sango took the hint and grinned. Sango was excited to play cupid, and since it was her cousin she was going to match up her up with the perfect guy!

“I am horny though..” Kagome groaned, knowing that she wouldn't be getting any action, any time soon.

After driving out of the residential area, Miroku, Sango and Kagome entered the freeway. Sango, once again, turned around to look at Kagome.
“We're taking you somewhere..”
“Where?” Kagome eyed her cousin.
“It's called `Tea House'”
“Tea House?”
“Yeah! It's so good! They have Ice Cream milk tea! And boba!”
“Really? Do a lot of guys go there? I hope so, because I feel like boy hunting. “
“It gets really busy there, but don't worry! It's San Diego; there are lots of guys here! And plus, we have to pick the perfect one.”
“To be honest with you, Sango, I'm just looking for Mr.Right now..”
“That shouldn't be hard to find, Kagome!” Miroku grinned, looking at Kagome using his rearview mirror.
Kagome laughed, “Easier said than done, Miroku! I don't want any diseases you know.”
“But I thought you were into those kinds of things…” Miroku put on a confused look on his face,
“Shut up, Roku and drive.”
Miroku laughed out loud and looked at Sango. Sango looked at her boyfriend and rolled her eyes. How Sango ended up with this guy, she'll never know. He was perverted, but other than that flaw, he was caring and loving. Giving Sango all the TLC she needed, and more.
Kagome looked at the couple sitting in the front, noticing that Miroku's right hand snaked its way to Sango's lap, resting it there, while Sango took his hand and interlaced their fingers together. Just the small gesture made Kagome's heart break.
She was happy for the couple. But she wanted to find a guy who will treat her well. Since her previous relationships all ended up as crap; the guys would cheat on her or break up with her. While Kagome was willing to work out problems, the guys were just looking for the next best thing. However, she would never admit that Lee broke up with her. She had to have some dignity! Even if it were a lie, she didn't want to seem like she didn't have any control in her relationships. If she said she ended it, then it would have been her choice; meaning that she didn't get hurt, she hurt him.

But that was a lie. She did get hurt, but she wasn't going to dwell in the past. She wanted to move on. Mr. Right now sounded good right about now.

Kagome wasn't kidding when she said she was horny. What was going on with her hormones? She's never felt this way before.

They went to the `Tea House' place that Sango was so fond of. They ordered their drinks and sat down at the couches that were placed against the wall.
Kagome sipped her drink, loving the way it tasted on her tongue.
“This place is pretty cool, Sango.”
“Right? It's so good.” Sango grinned

The three friends chatted and caught up with each others news. It was an awesome feeling to just be yourself, and talk to people you could trust.

After a long night of talking, Miroku and Sango drove Kagome back to her house, promising that they would hang out the next day. Kagome hadn't been out that long, but she had already grown tired. She blamed it on jetlag.

Kagome entered the house, walking through the kitchen and running upstairs. She opened the door to the room she shared, and saw her mother watching a scary movie, while her brother slept.

“Hi Ma.”
“Hi.. Did you have fun?”
“Yeah! It was okay, what are you watching?”

All of a sudden a dead figure was shown on the television screen

“Ugh.” Kagome left out a sound of annoyance.
“Why do you like these movies, Mom?”
“Because, they're interesting.” Her Mom's attention went back to the TV.
While Kagome's mom was watching her movie, Kagome took this as the time to get ready for bed. She washed her face and brushed her teeth. She changed her clothes and walked over to her bed, which she sat on, watching the TV screen as well.

The screen showed all sorts of disgusting pictures of dead people. What they looked like after they've been tortured; cuts, bruises, burns, bullet holes just everywhere.
Kagome began feeling sick again after seeing these images. She got the light headed feeling again, and the taste of bile crept back up into her mouth.

“This is disgusting mom, I feel sick.”

Kagome's mouth began to water non-stop. Her saliva began to thin out like water, and she could feel her stomach pushing its contents up her throat.

The TV screen flashed another picture of a victim who was supposedly possessed by the devil, and was stated that the victim would injure herself with her nails. It was evident as well, since there were deep gashes in her face.

After seeing that picture, Kagome rushed to the trashcan and threw up her stomachs contents. She squeezed her eyes tight, feeling the liquid and mush force its way out of her body. She let out everything, her stomach continuing to convulse and push itself together, liquid just coming out at this point. Kagome held her hair back, and coughed up the remaining pieces that lingered in her mouth. She sighed and felt so much better.

Kagome's mom was disgusted by what she saw, and started to make fun of Kagome.
“I can't believe you just threw up because of a movie. You're so weak”

“Well, I told you I thought it was gross, of course if it shows something disgusting, I'm going to react in some way…” Kagome tried to prove a point, which was useless, because even her excuse didn't make any sense to her. She would just figure it out later.

She went to go brush her teeth once more, getting rid of the bitter taste on her tongue.

The next morning, Kagome woke up to the same exact feeling. Light headed, dizzy, and nauseated.
She went on the computer and searched the symptoms on WebMD.

All that showed up were Pregnancy Symptoms, which matched her own.

“I can't be pregnant ...” Kagome told herself. Sure, she had not had her period in 2 months, but that was normal. There had been plenty of times when she would miss it for three months, due to stress. And since she was definitely stressed out about moving and whatnot, then that had to be the problem. She wasn't pregnant, no way.

Kagome decided to start getting ready so she could hang out with Sango. She was going to spend a night so she had to pack clothes with her as well.

After fixing herself up, Sango arrived at Kagome's house and finally drove off. Kagome decided to leave her problems at home and just to enjoy the rest of the day.

The day consisted on driving around, shopping, buying make up, and talking about girly things. The day went by quickly and they ended up at Sango's House. It 8:00 PM and Sango's mom finally came home.”

“Hi Auntie!” Kagome greeted her favorite aunt and hugged her.
Mayumi smiled when she saw Kagome, “Hey, How have you been?”
“Good, I have to talk to you about something…”
“Sure..” Mayumi was dying to know what her niece had in store for her.

After Kagome explained her symptoms to her Aunt, Mayumi had grown concerned for her niece. Mayumi went to her bathroom and pulled out a pregnancy test.

“It's a bit old..” the Auntie said, “but it should work.”
Mayumi handed Kagome the test and Kagome took it with shaking hands.
“I can't believe I'm about to do this.”

Kagome went into the bathroom and tried to calm herself down.

Mayumi had already gone to bed, since she worked over time that day.

Kagome took out the little stick device and read the instructions.
“Pee on the..blahblahblah.” Kagome eyed the little stick and slid off her pants.

She hovered over the toilet, slipped the device into her hand and peed onto the absorbent tip.

She slipped up her pants back up and read the rest of the instructions.
“Wait for 5 minutes.”
“Yea right.”

She waited in the bathroom, watching as the lines began appear, very discreetly at first, and then finally growing in color.
“Negative means you're not pregnant, and Plus means you are.”
Kagome looked at the pregnancy test, and checked for a plus or minus sign. It was a minus sign. That part was bold enough to see, but behind the minus was the vertical line that started to appear, but very lightly. She decided to wait a bit longer before reading it again.

Kagome opened the bathroom door and brought out the test with her. She went downstairs where Sango was waiting and explained to her what she just did.

“So, what is it?” Sango asked, feeling like she was about to have an anxiety attack.
“Um..” Kagome looked at the test again and she could see the plus, but very lightly. The horizontal line was thicker than the vertical.

“I don't know..?” She showed Sango the results.
“Looks like a plus to me..” Sango shot a worried look at her cousin.
“Yeah, but your mom said it was old. So maybe it's just a defect?”
Sango nodded her head. “Yeah, for sure.”

Kagome kept staring at that damn piece of shit pregnancy test. She scoffed.
“I can't be pregnant…” Even if she didn't want to admit it, Kagome was panicking inside.
“So, Sango, where's Miroku?”
“He's at home. He's coming here though!”
“Really? Can you ask him to buy another pregnancy test? I just wanted to make sure.”
“Um… okay. If you want.” Sango began to dial her boyfriends number.
“Hon?” Sango talked to Miroku and explained the situation at hand, asking him to stop by at any store and pick up a pregnancy test kit.
“Sure, only one?” Miroku asked Sango.
Sango looked over to Kagome, “ Only one?”
“Maybe two..” Kagome said.
“Two, Babe, Get two!” Sango ordered.
“Ok” Miroku replied and hung up.

Sango and Kagome watched TV, while waiting for Miroku. Once Miroku got to Sango's house, he gave Kagome a brown bag.

“There's three in there, they didn't have two so I grabbed a three pack.”
“Thanks Miroku.” Kagome gave him a 20 dollar bill, paying him back for her kit.

Kagome opened the package and grabbed another stick looking device. She went up the stairs and back to the bathroom. She was going to prove the other test wrong. She wasn't pregnant! There was no way in hell she could be pregnant. This couldn't be happening to her, not sweet Kagome.

Kagome slipped out of her pajama pants and peed again onto the absorbent tip.
She wiped herself clean and placed the test on top of the counter. The directions said to wait 5 minutes, and this time she would follow that directions to a T. So she decided to fix herself up for bed; washing her face and brushing her teeth.

She was sure that this wasn't happening to her. She had to deal with a lot of shit during her 17 years of living. God wasn't this cruel.

5 minutes passed and Kagome was ready to see her results. She lifted the pregnancy test to get a better look of the answer on the small device.

What she saw made the blood drain from her face and made her heart stop.
“Oh Shit.”
Her eyes began to water as she looked at the mirror, staring at her reflection.

Hey Everyone! So, this is just the beginning for our sweet little Kagome!! What happens later on is still currently being developed in my mind. To be honest with you guys, I'm just winging this whole thing. I wrote most of this chapter on my BlackBerry Curve, as an email. I get inspired at such random times. But thank goodness for my PDA, or else my thoughts would go to waste! I'm not sure how long this story will be, but hopefully I'll gain some readers. =) I know that this is way OOC, but as I stated previously, these events happen in the real world you know? So, I just wanted to attempt to be different! Another Chapter should be up in the next couple of days. Please be patient with me. First time fanfic writer, remember? :] Thanks for reading and any type of review would be appreciated. - xOH0NEY
