Well guys it's been a long time, hasn't it? And I mean LONG!! I just got this idea of writing an Inuyasha fic!! I'm so excited with this story so if you want any updates please review so I can at LEAST know that you're interested in the story. And one more thing I don't own any of these characters (secretly wishes I owned Inuyasha) *grins evilly*

Okay then, on with the show!!!

Will You Stay with Me?

Deep in the forest there was a castle. A barrier was around the castle which was called the miasma. In one of these dark rooms sat a youkai…Naraku. He was sitting on the floor watching outside his window where the huge soul collectors where roaming. Thinking about the reincarnation he had created. Kagura was killed a couple of days ago. No, not by Inuyasha. But by Naraku himself.

A frown showed on his face. That stupid bitch always annoyed him. She was always talking about wanting to be free like the wind or some shit there. So one day he said that he was going to grant her that wish and killed her. But there was something else bothering him. It was that human girl that Inuyasha was always with. She always ruined his plans and he had to find a way to get rid of her and fast.

'I have to bring her here and take care of her myself,' he thought. 'That mortal girl must die once and for all!'

Thunder was heard from a distance following with a flash of lightning. The castle seemed darker than usual as the storm neared.

Meanwhile………

"Are you sure this is the right way?" asked an annoyed hanyou.

"Yes I'm sure," Kagome responded annoyed as well. "I can feel a shikon shard close by."

Inuyasha and the gang walked across a wide field which led into a forest. It was very quiet and it was freaking everyone out. Inuyasha suddenly stopped and sniffed the air.

Kagome walked up to him with concern in her eyes.

"What is it Inuyasha?"

"I smell a youkai," he growled. His ears twitched as he tried to listen very carefully. "There!" He looked up.

Suddenly a youkai appeared from the sky. It had the head of a bird with the claws and wings and the body of some sort of snake with a long tail. It swooped down towards the group as they prepared to fight. Shippo hid behind Kagome trembling in fear.

"W-what is that thing?" was all he could manage to say.

Inuyasha growled and unsheathed his Tetsaiga ready to attack the demon. He charged towards it and swung his sword. The youkai dodged his sword and flew towards its target, Kagome. She gasped seeing the demon fly straight at her.

"Kagome look out!" yelled Miroku.

"Kagome!!" Inuyasha cried as he ran after the youkai.

The youkai stretched his tail to wrap it around her waist but she was scooped up by Inuyasha. It growled out loudly, "I must take her to Lord Naraku!"

Inuyasha placed Kagome (with Shippo on her shoulder holding for dear life) down, away from the danger. "Where is the shard?"

She focused on the youkai and gasped. "There! In its tail!"

"Stay here." She nodded and watched as he went back to the youkai.

"Now you die!" He lifted his sword up high above his head and gave one swoosh but the youkai had struck him with his tail just in time. Inuyasha fell hard to the floor and struggled to get up.

Sango got ready to throw her Hiraikotsu but was stopped by the youkai's fire breath.

"Sang look out!" Miroku said. He pushed her out of the way but was slightly hit by the fire.

"Miroku!" she cried, trying to comfort his wounds.

The youkai looked at Kagome again and flew towards her. Kirara charged at it and bit its arm. The youkai screamed in pain and wiped lashed her. It turned around and saw Inuyasha lifting his sword up and slicing it in half. The youkai was killed (thanks to Inuyasha of course!).

Kagome ran by his side. "Are you ok?" she asked.

"I'm fine," he said, absently holding his arm. He picked up the shikon shard and handed it to her.

Everyone gathered around them and Inuyasha looked to the forest.

"Inuyasha?" said Sango. "Why do you think Naraku sent that youkai for Kagome? I mean he could have easily told it to kill her instead of taking her to him."

"How should I know?" he scoffed. "But we better find a place to hide for now. Let's go into that forest and rest up." He started walking and the others followed.

Night was proceeding and Kagome sat in front of a fire. She and the others were inside a cave. Sango tended to Miroku's wounds using Kagome's aid kit. Kagome suddenly heard a slap sound coming from her knowing that Miroku must have groped her butt. Shippo nodded his head and murmured 'idiot'. He yawned and rubbed his eyes as he got ready for bed.

"Goodnight Kagome," he said sleepily as he snuggled against Kirara's fur who was already asleep.

"Goodnight Shippo," she smiled at him.

An irritated Sango walked beside her and sat down. Her feelings changed when she noticed Kagome's hard stare at the fire.

"What are you thinking about?" she asked her.

Her thoughts were knocked out by Sango's voice and she blinked her eyes. She looked at her and back at the fire.

"I wonder what Naraku wants with me?"

Sango leaned back on her arms and looked straight at the fire. "Maybe he wants the shikon shards that you have, if not then…I'm not sure." There was something odd about Naraku wanting to deal with Kagome 'personally'. But they would have to just try and find his damned castle to answer that question. She shot a glance at Inuyasha who was quietly keeping watch right outside the cave.

"Why don't you go and talk to Inuyasha," she suggested. "Maybe he knows something about that." Remembering the previous scene where he retorted at her that he didn't know. She really wanted Kagome to talk to him about how she really feels about him but she couldn't just tell her like that. She'd probably not talk to her for being nosy. But surprisingly Kagome got up and walked towards the hanyou. She sighed and looked at Miroku who was thankfully fast asleep. 'Good,' she thought. 'At least he won't get any perverted ideas tonight since he fell asleep first'. She laid down on the floor and closed her eyes to sleep.

Kagome approached Inuyasha and stood quietly beside him. She noticed his stare was focused and aware if any youkai would appear. Also the bandage that she had wrapped around his injured arm earlier. He did noticed her there but didn't bother saying anything knowing that she was going to ask a question.

"You think Naraku will find us here?"

He folded his arms and closed his eyes. "I doubt it, but eventually he'll find out that we're hiding around here. That's why I'm keeping watch." He opened his eyes to see Kagome walk out of the cave. "Where are you going?" he said, almost yelling at her.

"I'm going to find a river or lake to drink," she said, looking back at him. "I am really thirsty."

"Stupid fool!" he scowled, folding his arms again. "What if a youkai comes out of nowhere and attacks you?"

"First off I'm not stupid!" she said, her tone getting angrier and higher. "And second, if a youkai does come you'll know first than me so I'm certain that I'll be safe." With that she started walking again.

All Inuyasha could do was bring his chin up in the air and scoff. "Fine! Don't come crying to me if you get eaten!"

Kagome found a small lake that had a large rock resting on the bank. She walked towards the water and bent down on her knees. She cupped her hands to take a drink of the cold water. Sighing in relief when she finished, she sat back on top of the rock. The leaves on the trees gently rustled as the wind blew from every direction. She looked up at the dark sky that overflowed with stars. Back in her time she couldn't really see the stars because of all the lights in the city. She felt glad to be able to experience this sight.

'It sure would be nice to experience this with someone.' she thought. Suddenly there was a loud rustle of leaves coming from behind her followed by a snap of a twig. "W-who's there?" she said, trying not to show her fear in her voice. "I know you're there so come out."

Inuyasha jumped down from a near by tree and stood in front of her. He looked at her with a guilty face. "I was just checking to see if you needed anything," he murmured.

"Actually I do," she answered. He looked at her with total confusion. He thought she was going to tell him to leave. Surprisingly she didn't. "I need some company to watch the stars."

He hesitantly sat next to her Indian style and crossed his arms. She smirked at his cooperation and looked back up at the sky.

"Inuyasha?"

"Hmmm?"

Are you still thinking about turning into a youkai?" she said.

"It's that obvious isn't it?" he said/

"Well…I still think that you're fine just the way you are…as a hanyou." She brought her knees up to her face and hugged herself. This time she stared down at the water. Her eyes were steady and deep in thought. The question she was about to ask was going to take everything she had. "Are you going back with Kikyo?" she managed to say in a steady voice. (fucking bitch! I hate her soo much!! Ruins everything!

Oops, back to the story!)

Inuyasha looked at her in surprisement at her sudden question. Was he ready to answer that question? How long has she been holding it back? His thoughts were circling around in his head. He didn't know what to say to her.

"I-I don't know what to say of that now," he said softly. "I'm…sorry."

She frowned and her eyes began to tremble. 'That means that he stills loves her,' she thought. 'He still loves Kikyo even though she's not really alive.'

"So I guess after we find the shikon shards then I'll be leaving back to my time," she sadly said, holding back tears.

"What?"

"Since I won't be needed here after, then I should just go back home." A slight pain hit her heart by saying those words. She felt unwanted, helpless to do anything after the hunt was over, unneeded. She felt an arm wrap around her.

"I don't want to you to go Kagome," he said almost in a whisper. He pressed his temple against hers and closed his eyes. "I want you to stay by my side because you make me feel happy and you actually make me enjoy the things in life that I wouldn't. Please stay with me?" He slightly nudged his temple with hers.

Kagome was now blushing tremendously. Her heart was pounding on how close she was to him and how warm he felt. But the words she heard hurt her. She knew that if she stayed with him forever and he went back with Kikyo, she would surfer forever. She couldn't take that amount of pain. It would kill her! Tears began to appear again in her eyes and she stood up.

"I-I can't," she said, her voice trembling.

"I don't understand," he said while standing up.

"I just can't stay here with you!" She didn't dare look into his eyes and let him see the pain in hers.

"Kagome-"

"I can't live the rest of my life seeing you and….Kikyo…together. So just don't ask me again Inuyasha!" With that she ran back to the cave leaving a confused and hurt hanyou.

He stared at her while she ran back, not bothering to go after her. After all, she didn't want him to ask the question again. He looked up at the sky and frowned. 'Kagome,' he thought. 'What can I do to make you understand?'
