Day 2 ½: If He Can, So Can I!
Black smoke lingered from red ember coals, glowing brightly. A vast amount of tropical birds roosted on the branches of the trees, singing to each other. Howler monkeys scurried around on the forest floor, along with fiddler crabs that scurried away from the shoreline in search for food. However, all were wary of the two intruders, which silently slept on the white beach.
A one-foot bird-eating tarantula slowly made its way upon the hot beach–eager to warm itself. It unfortunately had found its way over to the camp and onto Kagome. Its thick brown hairy legs crawled up onto the blazer, making his way towards her chest. Its sensory hairs tingled from the rise and fall of the mound. The tarantula took a defensive pose its four front long legs raised above its head showing off its two one-inch fangs.
Kagome slowly awoke feeling something slightly heavy on her chest. Opening her eyes, she came face to face with eight beady eyes and two large fangs. Instantly recognizing the horrible beast as a spider, she flung off the blazer and her scream echoed around the isle, scaring away the nearby animals. Kagome stood up painfully as she watched the large furry arachnid scamper away. Leaning her weight off the swollen foot, she brushed herself off, in case there were any unwelcome guests still sleeping with her. The very thought of a huge spider with fangs the size of a sharpen pencil point, scared her immensely.
Inuyasha awoke to her screeching; he sat up quickly as he watched her shaking her clothes and trashing her fingers through her hair. He yawned since there was no danger. “What the hell is wrong with you?”
“What the hell is wrong with me?” She panted, trying to remain calm and not hysterical; however, she was losing it quickly. “What the hell is wrong with me? I’ll tell you what’s wrong with me!” She stated as tears ran freely down her cheeks. “First I meet you…! Then I am stuck on this God forsaken hellhole! Subsequently, I sprained my ankle. Then this giant spider decided to make a home on my chest!” Her breathing was shallow; she began to shake, and then buckled on the sand bringing her hands to her face, trying to wipe the torrent of tears.
Inuyasha tried to understand her in her panic-induced state. He hated to see women cry and she was no exception. He quickly stood up and approached Kagome bringing her into a tight, warm embrace. “I am sorry, please stop crying, it will be okay, you will see I will not let anything happen to you, and we will get off this hellhole, I promise!”
‘How could I have called him a monster?’ she contemplated. ‘I am the monster, I am the one who was mean to him, and here he is trying to comfort me.’
“Inuyasha…?” She whispered, sobering up, and wiped the torrent of tears away.
“Yes?” He said, rubbing his hands across her back, as he rocked back and forth with her, trying to sooth her.
“I just wanted to let you know that I made a mistake.”
He stopped rocking, as he listened to what she was trying to say. “What mistake is that?”
She sniffled then looked into his golden eyes. “I am sorry for calling you a monster. You are no monster. That spider was the monster…not you!” She began to cry once again.
“Shhhh, it’ll be okay,” he said softly, but tried not to chuckle. “And, yes you’re right…, that spider was more of a monster than I am!”
Kagome began to laugh.
“Now let’s say we look at your wounds and see if I can do anything with these gashes.” Inuyasha said soothingly, he lifted her chin up, and silently cursed himself for forgetting the painful state she’s in. He berated himself, ‘What if she already has an infection? How could I be such and idiot! ’
Pulling Kagome away from his embrace, her redden eyes, gazed at him. Observing her face there were a couple of small scratches, “Kagome?”
“Yes.”
“I’m going to lick your wounds, and please don’t be alarmed. My saliva will stop the gash from festering, and it’ll also help you heal faster.” Inuyasha paused watching her confused expressions. “Do you understand?”
She nodded her head in agreement.
Inuyasha smiled. “Good! Oh, and sweetheart please don’t call me Sandy again! By the way, who’s Sandy? That’s if you don’t mind me asking?” He requested calmly, hoping that she would not bite his head off again, and since she was complying, he began to lick her day old wounds.
Inuyasha’s tongue was soft and warm, as she felt it caress her skin, and she began to feel an overwhelming amount of warmth spread throughout her body. She surely didn’t want him to stop!
“She’s…my…dog.” Kagome panted, as her body betrayed her yearnings for the man before her.
His tongue dipped from her chin downwards toward her neck. Her taste was sweet, and the dried blood heavenly. Inuyasha didn’t even hear her speak. “What was that?”
“Aren’t you paying attention? I said…Sandy is my dog!” she repeated, feeling his caress once again.
“No,” he chuckled. “What kind of dog?” He mumbled, not wanting to stop.
After he was satisfied with her neck, he noticed small abrasions on the top of her breasts. ‘Do I dare?’ He contemplated. ‘Oh come on…, what’s the worst thing that she can do to you?’ He swallowed hard, and drove back his conscience–he didn’t want to think of what she was actually capable of doing. With an arrogant smirk, he then surrendered to the sweet taste of her essence.
Kagome could feel her breasts became moist with his smooth tongue as it grazed around her cleavage; she could feel herself constricting–fighting the sudden urge to take him now! Her body was on fire, just by his touch. She was thirty-one and she was in her prime. Her body was alive with a tingling sensation, awaiting his touch, and the simple stroke of his hot tongue.
Kagome’s arousal intoxicated his sense of smell, ‘She’s aroused.’ He smirked, deciding to toy with her more, “I’m sorry… I didn’t hear you… what kind of dog did you say you have?” He asked, while following her heavenly scent toward her long lean legs.
“I…have…a…pug.” Kagome said gasping for air, holding off the sudden desire too strip her clothes off and fuck him senseless. She wanted to grab his head and bring her closer to her lips, but she decided against it. Instead, she fisted her small hands in the sand.
Inuyasha growled softly. He could smell that a contagion indeed festered in her foot.
Kagome heard him rumble. Finding her voice she asked, “What’s the matter?”
“The bottom of your foot is infected, and it’s beginning to fester! I am going to have to cut into your wound too reopen it so I can drain the puss. This is going to hurt! I’m sorry,” he suggested. Inuyasha shifted seating positions so that he was now sitting Indian style across from her. Carefully placing the injury onto his lap, he gave her a pleading look, before slicing the abrasion with a single claw. The smell was pungent and could still see some of the wood that embedded into her foot the prior day. Using his claws like a pair of tweezers, he cleaned out the rest of her gash, and then he began to lick the angry wound. Inuyasha desperately tried not to get nauseous as the vile taste of her illness infested his mouth.
Kagome fell backwards in utter agony. She couldn’t stop the tears falling once again down her face. She closed her eyes, eager that he would soon be done.
It killed him to see her in distress. When he was satisfied that he had indeed fixed her lacerations, Inuyasha leaned over her pained body and began to kiss her forehead to try to make amends for hurting her. “I’m sorry.”
Inuyasha then scooped up the crying girl into his strong arms, as he walked over to a single palm tree. “Here, you need rest.” Pulling off his tattered jacket, he crumbled the fabric into a ball, and then placed her foot under it. Observing the beach, he smiled as he found her blazer as well and repeated the process. “Keep this elevated! I’ll be back with some breakfast as soon as I gather more wood.”
“What are you, some kind of doctor?” She asked sarcastically.
Inuyasha stopped, turning to face her once again. “No! I’m a District Attorney.” He smirked, loving the shocked expression from the dragon lady herself.
Quickly Inuyasha gathered some more firewood, and was satisfied that the fire was once again blazing with life. On his travels he’d found a long narrow stick. Smiling he sat down next to the fire and with a sharp pointy rock began sharpening the end of the branch fabricating it into a fishing spear. After appreciating his fine work, he made haste as he ran to the shoreline and towards the crashing waves that awaited him.
Removing his dirt covered cream oxford; he felt the sunrays warm his well-toned chest. Then he discarded his shoes and socks, leaving him only in his pants. Raising his spear like some warrior ready for a good fight, he slowly entered the cool water. Waves crashed hard into his muscular legs, almost fighting him from returning. Inuyasha snorted and progressed further.
The water was clear and he could see many tropical color fish swim in and out of the coral; however, the fear of coming across a shark crossed his mind. Yet he pressed on. His strides were precise as he entered into the shallows not wanting too slice the bottom of his souls with the sharp edges of the coral below him.
A shiny object caught his attention, as he stood on the flat part of the rock and watched it glisten from the suns golden rays. Taking a deep breath, he leaned over ready to make his dive as he tightened his grip on the sharp spear.
Inuyasha flattened his ears, so that the ocean water would not agitate them, he opened his eyes, slightly ignoring the burning sensation due to the salt-water. Swimming deeper he grabbed the shiny object and returned to the surface. He quickly climbed back onto his perch, still fearful of the predators that swam the shallows.
Observing his treasure, he gasped. ‘This is my concealment bracelet! I thought I lost it!’ Finding the charm only reminded him of Kaede. ‘You will always be in my heart my old friend.’ Sadness swept through him recalling the old woman that lived two hundred years ago. He remembered her like it was yesterday. The petite, stout, gray hair woman always gave him grief about his temper. On the other hand, she would try to force him to get along with his elder brother Sesshomaru. Inuyasha just smirked, thinking about his memories. However, sadness coursed through him and he placed the sliver trinket close to his heart. “I found you again, my old friend. You are and forever will be close to my heart.” Inuyasha leaped back to shore and stuck the silver trinket into his shoe, ‘At least it will be safe here.’
Making his way back into the water, his hunt was successful. He’d caught four nice-sized white fish. Making quick work of cleaning his kill, he threw the scraps into the bluish-green water.
When he returned to where he left Kagome, Inuyasha could see the astute look she was giving him. ‘What did I do now?’ He glared at her, ready for the sudden assault from his spirited companion.
“Where the hell have you been? I have been sitting here for hours it seems. My back hurts, I can’t walk, and I have to go pee!” Kagome said aggravated.
“Well excuse me sweetheart! And believe me when I say: I would rather sit on my ass then risk my life so you can eat!”
“You eat too! So quit bitching, and help me up!” Kagome said demandingly and was sure her bladder was going to burst any minute.
“No!”
“Oh, you can’t be serious! Would you rather I piss myself!”
“Bitch…! I really don’t care what you do!” Inuyasha responded coldly. Turning his back, he then made his way to cook his breakfast, mumbling under his breath: “Ungrateful bitch!”
Kagome huffed, as she watched him walk away, she screamed, “Fucking bastard!” and hoped that he heard her. Slowly standing, she whimpered with pain desperately not trying to apply any pressure on her injury. Limping over to the forest, she found a nearby bush. Squatting down, she thought of a million and one ways to kill him, even though she knew it was her fault, she just could not help herself. ‘I cannot let him get to close too me, I just can’t!’ She groaned as the tantalizing smell of cooked fish instantly upset her empty stomach.
Wobbling back to camp, she watched Inuyasha eating his succulent meal. “That bastard, he knows I can’t walk and yet…” Kagome growled, her stomach rumbled I protest. However, she knew this was all her fault, “Me and my big mouth!”
“What was that? You’re not hungry are you?” Inuyasha teased as he took another bite of his meal.
Kagome ignored him and thought, ‘If I can start a business and run it successfully… I’m sure I can catch a fish.’ Staggering over to Inuyasha, she grabbed his spear, and with determination limped her way towards the ocean.
Inuyasha observed her with a smirk grin. He was curious just to see how she would manage–if she managed to catch her dinner. He chuckled, ‘Yeah, she will be begging me by the end of the night for food.’
With pride and ambition before her, Kagome slowly made her way down the beach. The sand was hot, under the scrutinizing sun. She needed to be quick; out in the water with no suntan lotion could be a painful day ahead of her. Leaving her dirty camisole on, she removed her knee length skirt, simply leaving her in her undergarments. Looking at the dangling threads of the garter, she unsnapped them and let them fall besides her apparel.
Inuyasha’s mouth fell as he watched her undress. Her body was extremely toned and he could see detail of the muscles in her arms, stomach, and legs. He could not help but look at her with his roaming eyes.
Clinching her teeth as she entered the waters, she could not help but cringe when the salt entered her abrasion. Pushing the pain aside, she glanced into the shallows watching the fish swimming around. She tried at first to spear a fish, but she was too slow. Frustrated she dove into the ocean headfirst. Kagome’s ambition was strong and she was determined to come out of the water with a successful catch. Her black hair danced freely around her, moving it aside she found her prey.
With precise aim, she managed to spear her first fish, even if it was an unsuspecting stingray. Resurfacing she held her game proudly over her head and a large grin complimented her radiance.
Inuyasha watched Kagome swimming back to shore with the squirming fish stuck on the spear and he couldn’t help but chuckle. “All be damned…she did it!” However, when she stepped onto shore, Inuyasha gulped and felt something stir in his pants. Here his dragon lady now looked like an Amazonian warrior. Her camisole was wet and stuck to her skin, accentuating her curves. Her hair was exotic and untamable. He had to hold back his desire; the way she looked, he wanted to pounce on her. NOW. He closed his eyes, trying to sooth his heightened body.
Quickly she dressed back into her skirt, disregarding her other attire. Glancing over to where Inuyasha sat, she could see his eyes closed. “This is going to be fun,” she said with a smirk as she hobbled back towards the camp.
Placing her quarry into the fire, she awaited until the smell of fish reached his sensitive nose.
Inuyasha could smell her meal cooking before him. However, when he closed his eyes, he instantaneously imagined her outfit, as he ripped it off only to attack her fiercely, ravaging her very core with his slick tongue.
‘And to think I needed him around.’ She smiled at the thought, supercilious of her accomplishment.
When Inuyasha acknowledged her, his eyes became transfixed on the soaked outfit and the pair of nipples peeking through. He tried to breathe and needed a diversion. Looking at her kill, he mocked. “Well it’s about time you returned! And what the fuck is that in the fire?”
Trying to hide her pain, from the previous swim, she would not let him bring her down. “You have two eyes…what the hell does it look like to you!” She inquired flipping over the stake cooking the other side of the ray. Kagome turned away from his heated gazed and focused on her meal. She had to admit that killing the fish was one of the hardest things she had to do. Yet, under strenuousness circumstances, as she concluded, it was a means to an end,–survival of the fittest–and she needed to eat too!
The sound of a thundering “Boom” echoed in the distance, accompanied by the crackling sound of lightning. Inuyasha instantly stood; his ears twitched sensing the pending danger. Sniffing the air, he growled. “We need to find shelter, there is a fierce storm heading towards us!”
“Huh?” She replied obtusely. Staring at the bright blue sky, she could see fluffy white clouds floating over their heads. ‘Is he serious? I don’t see a storm cloud in the sky.’
Noticing her puzzling expression, Inuyasha snarled. “Did you not hear what I said? We have to find shelter! Or would you rather stay out here and take the chances with the storm?”
“What storm? I don’t see a gray cloud in the sky.”
“What are you stupid? Did you not just hear thunder off in the distance?”
Kagome shook her head, “No! And I don’t plan on going anywhere until I eat.”
Inuyasha felt defeated and he really did not want to leave her alone during a storm. The scent of the storm drew closer and could smell the intensity of the weather. He surly didn’t want to be sitting ducks during a tropical squall. “Take it with you!” He shouted anxiously. He needed to find a safe place to camp for the night.
Kagome considered his warning, staring into his fierce golden eyes. ‘He’s totally serious about this and he’s worried about me.’ “Okay Inuyasha, I believe you,” she said to him reassuringly as she gathered her kill.
Inuyasha quickly covered the fire with some sand; he didn’t need a forest fire on their hands as well. Hell, it was bad enough that his instincts were screaming at him to move faster. Whatever was coming he knew it wouldn’t be good.
The sound of thunder rumbled; the storm sounded closer than before, as the trees began to sway back and forth from the strong winds.
Without thinking he threw the injured girl over his shoulder, “What in the hell are you doing Inuyasha?” She screeched, as she still had a death grip on her dinner.
“I already told you, saving your ass!” Inuyasha yelled, while running into the forest. He remembered seeing a waterfall and hoped that there was a cave. With one hand tightly wrapped around her thighs, he used his free hand to slice away the thick foliage like a machete.

Mrs. Higurashi stood in the kitchen making lunch for her son. Turning on the local Cleveland news, she heard the commentator say:
“We’ve just been informed that Flight 127 from Miami to Jamaica is missing. Unfortunately, there are no reports on the whereabouts or any information of survivors. Please call 1-800-555-5555 for further information... Sally back to you.”
Asuka leaned up against the kitchen island clutching her heart. She felt dizzy as her legs collapsed under her. She began sobbing uncontrollably– she had just lost her baby girl. “No! God not her please don’t take my baby!” She screamed, as the tears streamed down her slender oval face and her long black silky hair drooped over her shoulder.
