Chapter 14

Found Him

Kagome froze when she heard that name. He couldn't be there he was at Sengoku Jidai, wasn't he?

She looked at him. He really was there. What was she going to do? She couldn't just run out of class again. Maybe she could ignore him.

"Hojo would you mind helping Kagome? She hasn't been here for a while and needs to be caught up. You can go to the back of the room."

Maybe she couldn't ignore him now. `Maybe he won't say anything about anything and just help me with my school work.' She thought.

"Hello Kagome did you have fun?" He said.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I just want to get my work done." She said while opening a book.

"I was hoping you would go out with me tonight."

"I'm busy."

He used the mark on her and she doubled over in pain. "You shouldn't lie Kagome. You're coming tonight. I'll pick you up at eight."

"No" was all she said. The pain kept coming. It stopped and she sat up straight. She didn't know what to do. How could she get away from him without anyone noticing anything strange?

All of a sudden you could hear shouting outside the room.

"Get the fuck off me. Where is Kagome?"

Everyone looked at her and then back at the door. They heard him start yelling again. He was cussing and growling. Everyone just kept staring at the door.

He then kicked the door open and took a big sniff with his eyes closed. He stopped sniffing and opened them. He looked to the back of the room. There he saw Kagome and Hojo in the back.

His eyes flashed red. He noticed everyone was looking at him but he didn't care. He wanted to get Kagome out of there and now.

He went to the back of the classroom and picked Kagome up and threw her over his shoulder and ran out of the classroom. Everyone just stared at them leaving.

"Inuyasha put me down right now. What do you think you're doing? You can't just take me out of class like that." Kagome said while beating his back with her fists.

"I don't want you anywhere near that asshole. I would've killed him right then and there if there weren't so many people watching."

"Hey you said you weren't going to come until lunch. Were you following me?"

"No your Okaa-san said that some guy called and had a surprise for you. I'm not taking any chances. Besides she said I could bring you back if anything happened."

"I don't think that's what she meant."

He stopped as soon as he made it to the shrine steps "So you would rather still be there with him?" He asked sounding hurt.

"That's not what I meant. I'm glad that you came it's just that so much has happened. I guess the stress is getting to me. Besides I'm still not getting adjusted to the youkai in my time. I'm still a little tired too I guess."

"Oh well you should go to sleep."

"Ok you have to play with Souta when he comes home. Just for a little while."

"What, why?"

"Because I'll be asleep. What are you going to do until I wake up?"

"I'll just go to sleep too."

"Whatever just don't complain about being bored later."

"Feh, whatever."

They both walked into the house and they had to explain why they were back early. They would be leaving for the well after Kagome woke up from her nap.

They ate before she went upstairs to sleep. Inuyasha followed her up the stairs and into the bed. It took a while to assure her that they wouldn't get caught sleeping in the same bed.

"Ah the weather is always so nice when I come back here." Kagome said stretching.

"It smells better than your time."

"I may not have your sense of smell but I agree."

They headed toward the village when they met Shippo and Miroku sitting in front of the hut. He had a red handprint on his face. Which meant only one thing. He had done something perverted.

"What did you do this time letch?" Inuyasha asked. Kagome went in the hut with Shippo to see Sango.

"What makes you think that I have done something Inuyasha? It hurts my feelings to think that you think of me, an innocent and humble monk that way."

There was a moment of silence when Inuyasha started laughing. Miroku had realized what he said about himself and started laughing as well.

The girls were startled. They had never heard them laugh like that. Inuyasha hardly ever laughed. They ran out of the hut to see Inuyasha and Miroku rolling on the ground holding their stomachs.

The laughter had gone on for some time now. The girls were getting irritated. What could be so funny that it would make them laugh like that for so long. The girls finally lost patience and hit each of them on the head.

"Itai, what was that for?" They both said at the same time.

"You wouldn't shut up. Besides you're scaring the villagers." Sango said. It was true one of the villagers saw them laughing and ran away in fright.

"What happened that was so funny?" Kagome asked.

Inuyasha told them about the conversation he had just had with Miroku. The girls too laughed. After they settled down Sango and Kagome went to the hot spring. They wanted to take a quick dip before leaving.

They were now walking west on the hunt for Sesshomaru. None of them knew where he was so they would have to search for a while.

After about a day they had a lead. Inuyasha started picking up his brother's scent. There was also a human and that toad Jaken's scent mixed with it.

His brother was traveling with a human. He was never going to forget that. After Inuyasha announced that they would be able to catch up with him about noon tomorrow they ate and went to sleep.

They didn't expect that Sesshomaru would go to them. Inuyasha smelt his brother a lot closer than he should have been.

"Sesshomaru I know your there come out." He said while waking the others.

"So what is it that you want little brother?"

"What makes you think I want something? I could just be traveling the same way as you."

"But your not are you. You want something."

"I need to know something about the old mating traditions."

"Like I would ever give you any information. Unless you want to trade me the tetsusaiga."

"Inuyasha don't do it, it's not worth your Otou-san's sword." Kagome said.

"Still hanging out with your useless human companions I see."

"Like you should talk. I know that you've been hanging around a human too. I noticed it a couple of times but never thought anything of it."

Suddenly Sesshomaru pounced on him ready to attack. Inuyasha had been able to get away from him.

"What's wrong Sesshomaru, too embarrassed to show a weakness?" Inuyasha taunted.

"You leave her out of this." Sesshomaru said while attacking once again. He swung and Inuyasha went flying into a tree.

"Inuyasha" Kagome screamed.

She was beginning to get mad. She was about to bring her arrows out but was stopped by Inuyasha.

"Don't do it Kagome. Just get far away and protect yourself. Sango, Miroku, Shippo go and watch her."

Sesshomaru had heard the concern in his brother's voice and looked at the girl called Kagome.

Kagome watched as he disappeared and then reappear in front of her so close that she could fell his breath on her face.

He then wrapped his hand around her throat and lifted her off the ground. He smelled her and there it was. He could smell his brother's claim and see the bite mark on her neck.

Kagome was really getting angry. This was the second time that she was being held by her neck. She was really getting tired of it. So she gathered her power in her hands and instinctively shot it at him.

He didn't think she was going to do that so he was unprepared. He was blown back a couple of feet dropping her in the process. He stumbled onto one knee. His skin felt like it was melting off.

He looked at her murderously and started to rise. He was about to go after her when Inuyasha tried to slash his back.

"Your fights with me. Leave Kagome out of it."

"That bitch will die for what she's done." Sesshomaru said.

They had once again started fighting when Kagome heard some rustling behind her. She turned around and saw a little girl about ten years old come out of the bushes. She was breathing heavily.

She saw Sesshomaru and ran towards him. "Sesshomaru-sama." She said.

Sesshomaru stopped and looked at the little girl. She looked dirty, tired, and out of breath. "Rin?"

All of a sudden a neko youkai jumped out from behind her. He tackled Rin to the ground. Kagome saw this and ran to the little girl. She hit the neko youkai with some of her power but most of it was used on Sesshomaru so it only managed to anger the youkai.

The youkai looked at Kagome and cut down her shoulder. She fell to the ground but before she did she put a barrier around Rin. Kagome was laying on the ground holding her shoulder.

The youkai tried to get to Rin but was thrown back by the shield. He then looked to Kagome and was about ready to pounce when both Inuyasha and Sesshomaru slashed at him. The neko youkai was no more.

Kagome then saw the youkai was gone and fell into unconsciousness while letting the shield around Rin down.

"Kagome" Inuyasha yelled.
