Kagome found herself in a fog.
`Where am I?' she thought as she started walking down the path that was in front of her. After what seemed hours the path stopped.

Kagome saw a figure among the fog. It was coming towards her. Kagome's heart started thumping harder and faster.

“Who are you? Stay away from me! I am a Miko and I know how to use my powers!” yelled Kagome. She wasn't that strong and she knew it.

The figure stopped. The fog started to dissipate and Kagome gasped. It was Midoriko!

“Midoriko! What are you doing here?” Kagome asked.

Midoriko smiled and answered, “I have come to tell you who you are and what will happen to you. Why don't we sit down?”

Midoriko led Kagome to a bench by a pond that had large goldfish in it. Surrounding them were sakura. She loved sakura.

“Now, I know this will be a huge surprise for you, but you are not a descendent of Kikyo. You are, in fact, a descendent of mine,” said Midoriko.

Kagome stopped breathing for a few seconds. `Well, that's a huge weight off my shoulders.'

“If I am not a descendent of Kikyo, then why do I look so much like her?” Kagome asked.

Midoriko replied, “The reason why you look like Kikyo is because if you looked like me, every demon in the Feudal Era would want to kill you. You know the story about me when I had my last battle, yes? Well, Kikyo is a powerful Miko and many fear her. I thought, if you looked like her, you would be feared, too.”

Now, Kagome understood, but another question popped up in her head. “Then, why did it seem like she had the other half of my soul?”

Midoriko answered, “I put your other half in her so it would seem like you were her reincarnation. If that didn't happen, who knows what might occur!

“Now, the other reason I am here is to tell you have a new power growing inside you. It will be your strongest power. You will be able to manipulate five elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Metal. I have someone here who will be able to help you control them and use them properly. I would like you to meet my little sister, Ashley.”

A woman appeared. She wore a plum-colored robe and a green sash. Her face was angular; her eyes were auburn, her hair was auburn and her skin was ivory. She was a little shorter than Midoriko. She was beautiful.

“Hello Kagome, my name is Ashley. Our mother was the first to manipulate the elements. Then, I had the power to do that also. Now, you are able to do it too so I am here to help you. We will start tomorrow. I will be at your house and appear a girl your age. Is that understood?” questioned Ashley. Kagome nodded her head.

“Oh, did I forget to mention that she can be quite strict once it comes to magic?” asked Midoriko. Kagome glared at her.

“Now, I guess that will be all. Oh! I forgot to mention. The Shikon no Tama was born inside you. I placed it there when you were conceived. I am a part of you, whenever you need me, close your eyes and I will be on this bench. Now, time for you to wake up, your mother is calling you for dinner. Please tell Kirara I said hello,” said Midoriko. Kagome nodded and she was gone.

Kagome woke up and walked up to her house. She entered the kitchen. Her mother looked up and asked, “Where have you been? I have been calling you for ten minutes. I was about to call the police.”

Kagome replied, “Oh, I was in the shrine. Midoriko came to me and told me that I am actually a descendent from her, not Kikyo. Isn't that something? Also, that I have a new power that is forming inside me. I will be able to control the five elements. A girl name Ashley will be coming here tomorrow morning.”

Her mother grinned. “I was wondering you'd finally realize that Midoriko is our descendent, not Kikyo,” her mother said. Kagome froze. She felt her temper started to boil.

“What do you mean when I would finally realize? You knew this all along and you didn't tell me? Why did you do this to me?” shouted Kagome.

Ms. Higurashi sighed, “I didn't tell you because you would be in danger. You might have blurted it out or someone would have read your mind. You know what I mean?” asked Ms. Higurashi. Kagome nodded.

`This is too much for me to handle. I think I need to lie down,' Kagome thought. She excused herself and went to bed.

As soon her eyes were closed, she started dreaming. Her dream was about her friends. They were laughing as InuYasha was chasing Shippo when he said something smart. Not even realizing it, a tear escaped from an eye.
