InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Stubborn ❯ Chapter 2
Inuyasha sighed as he gazed at the moon, something about it reminded him of the good times his mother and he always had, in a way, Akito reminded him of his father, always yelling at him and scolding him for dawdling in the woods, where he'd be vulnerable to demons. Jeez that old man had a way of showing affection, but of course, it didn't have to be affection.
"Senile fool" Inuyasha whispered vaguely, rolling onto his side, falling back into a deep sleep, but sleep for Inuyasha was never deep, he was always alert, when ever be said danger.
He stirred as the sun rose in the east, showering him in a bright ray of joy, only problem he wasn't all that joyous, the smirk didn't seem to count.
"Hmm . . . I wonder where the old man is" Inuyasha said inwardly, sniffing for the scent of charcoal. He sneezed as he caught the scent. "Why the hell does he always hang around Kaeda?!" he yelled sneezing again as the scent of charcoal entered his nose. Did he really have to be so damn allergic to burned wood?
Inuyasha bounded off, into the village, ignoring the angry yelling from the villagers, as they were awaken by the loud thumping on their roofs.
Meanwhile . . .
"Oh Kaeda, you haven't looked better" Akito, commented on her looks.
Kaeda glared at him, thinking he was being sarcastic she scowled. "Save it, Akito" she said bitterly.
Akito looked at her worriedly. `I hope I aren't sounding too mushy' he thought, than a look of thought came to his face, but it soon disappeared as he heard the thumping noise of Inuyasha arriving. `Damn that boy'
Inuyasha bounded in, in all his proud glory.
"Hello Inuyasha" Kaeda greeted him, handing him a bowl of soup, which he took with out much haste. Kaeda smiled widely. "I'm glad you like it Inuyasha"
Inuyasha glared at her, taking another sip of the soup. "Just because I eat it, ain't mean I like it" he drawled, walking out the hut, after he muttered his thanks.
Kaeda sighed, he had been so nice before she had to put the rosary beads around his neck, in order from stopping him from killing Akito, but than again, she should've let him get on with it. After Kaeda had saved Akito, he had been making comments on how pretty she was, how wise, all the usual, a man said when he was in love . . . too bad Kaeda didn't feel the same way.

Kagome lay sleeping, holding a small jewel around her neck, as if protecting it. Everything was going great; all the demons that ever threatened to take the jewel were destroyed easily by Miroku and Sango.
As the light started creeping through the bamboo shades, she began stir. It wasn't long before she heard Miroku shuffling across the room. She cocked an eye open to see what he was doing.
He was looking out the door, smiling to himself, than he turned around. "Wake up girls!" he shouted, loudly so the girls would wake up.
Ren rubbed her eyes, "Morning already?" she asked, sitting up, she looked at the window, still a bit dark. "Damn you Miroku, it's too early"
"It's never too early to wake up, and never too late, especially" he was cut off as a fist collided with his head.
"Dammit, Miroku, can't you keep your mind of perverted things?!" Sango scolded him, threatening him with a fist.
"My Dear Sango, I was going to say especially when we can see dawn, it's quite the sight" Miroku remarked, with his famous boyish grin that made all girls swoon, only the girls weren't swooning, in fact they weren't actually paying much attention to him.
Miroku sighed; he was sure going to need some work if he wanted his precious Sango to like him . . . or better yet, love him.
Kind of' farfetched . . . don't you think?

"Inuyasha, you should be ashamed of yourself, making a little girl cry!" Akito growled, at the boy who wasn't paying attention to the old man's bickering. "Inuyasha, are you even listening?!" he asked.
Inuyasha stared annoyed into space, he didn't even make the girl cry, he just said he couldn't help her, and she started crying, unfortunately Akito had heard, and now was giving one of his lectures.
He sighed, and jumped to another tree, leaving the old man yelling insults at his back. `Stupid old man' he spat mentally. `Doesn't know when to quit does he, his damn yelling hurts my fricken ears.' He flattened his ears to his head, blocking out the sound of Akito's voice and allowing him to take a nap.
Akito caught up with the boy, and again started scolding him, but before he opened his mouth, he found him asleep. `Poor boy, probably is a little tuckered out' he smiled, but why would he be tired?
Akito walked back off into the village, leaving the sleeping hanyou alone.
Inuyasha cocked an eye open to see of the old man had left, and indeed he had, he smirked. `That senile man is so stupid sometimes' he thought cockily, jumping down from the tree, when he caught onto a demon scent.
"I smell a demon . . ."he said inwardly, pricking his ears, for better hearing, `It's over there, it's heading to the other side of the forest' he thought, jumping onto the tree to get a better look around him. "I see a hut over there and a pretty strong scent of . . . power" he whispered.
"I better go check it out"
With that the hanyou jumped from tree to tree, with the growing feeling in the pit of is stomach, he almost couldn't conceal the craving for what ever was making that strong aura of power, but what ever it was, he'd kill the demon before he even laid his fingers on it.

"Kagome what's the matter?" Sango asked the girl, who was backed up against the wall, her eyes stared widely at the door.
She whispered. "I sense a demon, and it's pretty big" she told them, cowering in the corner of the hut.
"A demon . . . I'll take care of this Sango love" Miroku suggested, walking to the door, and out to meet the demon.
"I hope he'll be okay . . ." Rin muttered while comforting Kagome, who still had the look of terror on her face; as she chanted a prayer under her breathe. "Please let us be okay"
Sango stared at the open doorway, `I hope he'll be okay' she thought, holding her boomerang weapon, in her hands, ready to attack.
"Hmm . . . so that was the demon?" Miroku asked himself, frowning. He was very disappointed in the fact that the demon was only minor, and not at all powerful. "What a waste"
"So you're a monk?" asked a mischievous voice, from the woods.
"Yeah, and I suspect that you're a demon" Miroku answered, very delighted in taking on a new opponent, a very strong one too . . .
