Chapter 3
Disclaimer: I don't really want to write this, but I have to . . . at least I think I do. Well just the usual. I don't own Inuyasha, and so on.
"Miroku . . ." Kagome whispered as she stood up from her spot in the corner. "Sango, we have to help Miroku." She whispered nudging the girl.
"Why? I'm sure he has it all taken care of . . ." Sango said smiling.
"Sango, he never takes this long."
A frown settled itself on Sango's lips. "You're right . . ." She faded as she heard a cry of pain from outside. "What was that?"
"Come on, let's go!" Kagome yelled running out of the hut.

"Dammit, you fucking monk!" Inuyasha cursed massaging the bump on his head.
"You sure have a way with words, don't you demon?" Miroku said dryly.
Inuyasha glared at the monk and readied himself for an attack, but than the powerful aura came too much for him as a raven haired girl ran out of the hut that lay behind the monk. He snapped his head towards the girl with raven hair. `She's omitting that aura.' He smiled.
Miroku followed Inuyasha's eyes, which had settled onto Kagome who was standing behind Sango. "Don't you even think about it!" he shouted at the hanyou who had already settled on making his way towards her.
"Get away, you half breed!" Sango shouted not noticing the tinge of hurt that flashed across the hanyou's eyes, however Kagome didn't.
"Sango, stop!" Kagome screamed lunging in front of Sango boomerang.
"Kagome get out of the way!" Sango cried trying to stop her attack but it was too late.
The boomerang smashed into the ground, cracking it with its incredible force. Sango and Miroku looked on in horror at the scene.
"Kagome!" Sango and Miroku yelled in unison.
"Damn, you humans are stupid!" Inuyasha growled dropping Kagome onto the ground beside the two young adults that sat shocked beside the large boomerang that still stood up right in the ground.
Kagome was first to speak. "Thank you." She whispered getting up.
Inuyasha blushed lightly before scowling. "It was nothing." He muttered. "Plus, I still want whatever's emitting that powerful aura!" he growled at her making her fall back down.
Miroku sighed. "Let the battle presume battle, demon." He said, taking his staff in his hand, smiling slightly.
"You guys can't fight right now!" Kagome yelled, getting angry.
"Why not?!" Inuyasha argued.
"Kagome let them be."
Kagome stared back at Sango before stepping back, guilt written all over her face. This guy had evidently saved her life; he must have a heart in there somewhere. "Wait, I have a question!" Kagome interrupted them once again.
"What is it, wench?!"
Kagome glared. "One, my name is not `wench' it's Kagome. Two, what's your name?"
"I don't really think that's any of your business."
"Inuyasha, where the hell are you, my boy?!" Akito called from deep within the woods, well not that deep, since the four teenagers had heard everything.
"Your name's Inuyasha? What kind of mean person would call you that?" Kagome asked, staring strangely at him.
"It's better than Sesshomaru." He mumbled under his breathe.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing!"
"Well ya don't have to yell!"
Inuyasha was about to yell back, when he was cut off as a certain old man interrupted him.
"Inuyasha, hold your ground and don't you yell at a woman!" Akito scolded him, before Inuyasha turned away. "Don't you turn away from me, young man!"
"I'm older than you, what are you talking about?!"
"You're probably as old as this young woman here in human years, Inuyasha!"
"So!"
"Which I must say, looks a lot like Kikyo."
Inuyasha opened and closed his mouth before turning to look at Kagome. He had to admit, she did look a lot like Kikyo, but Kikyo had died ten years ago, this girl only looked to be fifteen. "Kikyo's prettier."
Kagome huffed. "How would you know? Kikyo's died in the fire!" than she stopped. Kikyo had died in the fire, she sacrificed her life for her . . . and the jewel; the one that hung around her neck.
Inuyasha glanced at Kagome, and seeing she was on the verge of tears, he quickly leant down beside her. "Come on don't cry." He whispered to her. "I'm sorry."
Kagome snapped her gaze up to him. Did he just say he was sorry? Kagome smiled. "For what?" she asked, leaning over to him and kissing him on the cheek.
Sango, Miroku and Akito looked on as the two teenagers conversed in small talk, Kagome smiling once in a while as Inuyasha blushed.
`Cute couple.' Akito commented in his head, not wanting to break the moment. `Very cute.'
