Sugar Attack
Kagome, a few years older than usual, lay on the grass under the branches of the Goshinboku. InuYasha, his eyes filled with longing and love and need, lay half on her, his arms wrapped around her, kissing her deeply.
“Damn it,” he said, breaking the kiss, only to plant feather kisses across her jaw, and then down her throat, “Do you,” kiss, “know how much,” kiss, “I’ve missed you,” kiss, “baka woman.”
Her arms entwined him, her right hand finding an ear, which she gently began to rub. “You know,” her eyes closing as his kisses delved deeper down past her collar bone, and his hand finding its way under her shirt, “I promised you I’d always,” breathless moaning, “be yours.”
“Damn right, woman,” he said, leaning his head into her touch. “I’m never going to let you” contentment growl, “get out of my sight again.”
“Pink, what in the world are you doing?” came a loud, upset voice.
InuYasha sat up, looking at Kagome regretfully. “Damn it. Here we go again.”
Kagome rolled upright, smoothed out her clothes, but leaned her head on InuYasha’s shoulder. Her hand managed to rest on his thigh. He lifted one eyebrow in response.
A small, delicate fairy with fiery red hair landed on the plotbunny’s head. The fairy stuck Pink with the tip of her wand. “You PROMISED me that I could do this scene. You PROMISED!” she cried.
“Ouch!” said the plot bunny. “Get the hell off of my head, you....you piece of spun sugar! Who needs WAFF anyway?”
“We looked for you, Cotton,” said Fabio, the muse of Romance Writing, plucking her gently off the plot bunny’s head and placing her gently on the ground.
“Snark locked me in the closet,” said the fairy muse of fluff, twittering her wings and flying back into the air. This time she landed on Fabio’s shoulder. “Black let me out.”
“She didn’t come with you, did she?” asked Fabio.
The fairy shook her head no. Kagome idly ran a finger up and down InuYasha’s thigh. His arm found his way around her waist.
“Ok,” said Pink, taking a swallow from her sake bottle. “So what would you do differently?”
Cotton looked at the scene around her. “Under the Goshinboku is good. Let’s start with soft breezes drifting petals.”
Suddenly, Inu found himself standing up, embracing Kagome, staring soulfully and intensely into her eyes. “Kagome....” he said in a soft, husky voice. Sakura petals drifted by on the breeze, a few landing in Kagome’s ebony hair.
“I’m back, InuYasha,” Kagome said, returning his gaze with a slight smile. “I promise never to......ACHOO!”
Fabio sighed, walked over to the couple and handed Kagome a handkerchief.
“Sorry,” she said. “Tree pollen.”
He rolled his eyes.
Suddenly the breeze and the blossoms disappeared. Pink looked at Cotton and grinning broadly, said, “Ha!”
“Better?” asked Fabio. Kagome nodded, and he went back to join the others.
Cotton looked thoughtful.
It was night. InuYasha sat on the ground, leaning against the well, with Kagome snuggled between his legs, his arms wrapped around her, snuggling her against his chest. They looked up at the night sky, spangled with stars.
“Remember when we were looking at the night sky once, and you told me to make a wish when I saw a shooting star?” InuYasha said, nuzzling her ear.
“Uh-huh,” Kagome said.
InuYasha squirmed a little, like he was trying to get comfortable.
“Well, I’ve been coming out here by the well, a lot and watching the sky,”
he said, squirming some more. Kagome gave him a poke with her elbow, trying to get him to sit still.
“Uh-huh, said Kagome, leaning into the warmth of his chest.
“And every time I saw a shooting star, I’d wish -- “ he leapt up, pulling Kagome with him. Letting her go, he yelled “Kuso! Who put that rock there?” He picked up a large, sharp pointed piece of flint, and threw it with a loud growl.
“Boy, you sure know how to spoil a moment,” Kagome said.
“You sit there with a spearhead poking up your butt!” InuYasha said.
Kagome tiptoed up towards his ear.“I’d rather be on my hands and knees,” Kagome whispered very softly.
InuYasha blushed, which contrasted nicely with his silver hair.
“That one almost worked,” said Cotton, sighing. A single tear trickled down her cheek.
Pink chuckled. “Here, girl, take a swig of this,” she said, offering up her sake bottle. “You need ILLUMINATION!”
Cotton grabbed the bottle from Pink’s hand, and sniffed at it. “Ooooh! It smells like gingerbread!” she said.
Fabio raised an eyebrow. Pink just shrugged. Cotton tilted her head back, put her lips to the bottle, and drank. And drank. And drank.
“Wow,” said Pink. “I didn’t think she had it in her.
“That’s enough girl,” said Fabio, taking the bottle from her. “Too much will...well, we’ll see,” he said as he shook the mostly empty bottle.
Suddenly, Cotton giggled. “Why does the air smell like roses and fresh baked bread?” she asked. She lifted up crookedly on her wings, and with twistings and turnings, landed on Pink’s head. “Why do you smell like strawberries instead of booze and popcorn?” she asked.
She flew up into the air. Her wand began to glow wildly, and began spewing white fluff in a trail behind her. “Fluff for everybody!” she cried. “Cotton candy for the world!” Soon the area surrounding the muses was filled by a waist deep layer of spun sugar fluff.
Kagome and InuYasha looked at the inebriated muse with wide eyes.
“InuYasha,” whispered Kagome. “I’m scared.”
“Me, too,” said the hanyou, hand ready on Tessaiga, just in case.
“Ah,” said Cotton. “I know, I know, I know!” She waved her wand.
Kagome, a few years older than she was last time she was seen in the manga, lay on the grass under the branches of the Goshinboku. It was near sunset, and the golden light poured over her, giving her skin a warm honey glow. She looked up her stormy blue gray eyes, glazed with want up at InuYasha, who held her lovingly, his arms encircling her as they lay there on the warm grass, his eyes filled with longing and love and need.
His lips brushed against hers, at first gently, but slowly growing in passion, as if he were trying to communicate all the feelings of the last three years of separation in one moment. She felt herself melt into his arms, lost in his touch.
“I love you,” he said, breaking the kiss, only to plant feather kisses across her jaw, and then down her throat, “Do you, know how much I’ve missed you,” he breathed into her ear, trailing butterfly kisses down her jaw, and to her throat.
Moaning softly, she tilted her head back to give him access. The sight of her submission, her bared throat wrenched a groan from deep within him as his lips set her on fire.
Her arms entwined him, her right hand finding an ear, which she gently began to rub. “I’ve waited all this time for this moment,” she breathed. “You know,” her eyes closing as his kisses delved deeper down past her collar bone, and his hand found its way under her shirt, igniting a fire that only he could quench, “I promised you I’d always be yours.”
“Koibito,” he moaned, leaning his head into her touch. He began to purr, the tingle of it vibrating into her, exciting her even more. “I’m never going to let you get out of my sight again.”
“And I’m going to throw up,” said Cotton, flying drunkeningly behind a bush. Fabio just shook his head, kicking his way out of all the fluff Cotton had left behind her. Slowly, while the sounds of the poor intoxicated muse spoiled the mood for everybody, he pulled Pink out from where she had been buried by Cotton’s exuberance.
“You ok, Pink?” Fabio asked with a toss of his head.
“Maybe. If I don’t have to read any more crap like that. I think we better call it a night and try again later.”
Snagging the poor drunk fairy, Fabio took the three of them back home.
It grew suddenly very quiet.
InuYasha sat up. Kagome blinked three times. “Are they gone?” she asked.
“Yeah,” InuYasha said, rolling his shoulders to get the kinks out.
“Now what?” she said, standing up and brushing off the leaves from her clothes.
“Wanna go get some pizza?” he asked, standing up.
“What? No ramen?” she said, taking him by the arm.
“Gah, you’re evil, woman. You know how much I hate that stuff.”
Laughing, they walked off the set of Chapter 558 and into the sunset.
