*Stretch...yawn* Kagome rubbed bleary eyes and then shot out of the bed.
'Oh no!' The priestess scrambled around her room, stuffing a monstrous yellow backpack with random items.
'I can't believe I slept so late,' Kagome pulled denim shorts on.
"Mom!" a blue shirt slipped over the raven hair, "MOM!"
"What is it dear?" a calm question from her doorway.
"Is there any ramen in the kitchen? Where is my flashlight? Could you," the girl began to scrub her teeth, "please put the first aid kit in my bag?"
Ms. Higurashi blinked, "calm down. Inuyasha left last night. He wanted you to catch up on your sleep."
A hairbrush paused in midair, "really?"
"He said to meet him at Lady Kaede's."
Kagome watched the older woman descend the stairs. 'Inuyasha let me stay?'
Shaking off her stupor, the girl began to repack the bulging sack.
"Breakfast is ready!"
The meal was great, but spending time with her family was even better.
"Alright, I'm off!"
"See ya sis!" "Polio, that sounds like a good one." "Be careful dear."
"Love you." Kagome waved before entering the dark well house.

"Kagome!" came a happy greeting.
"Hey Shippo," the teen climbed out of the wooden portal.
"Was you par-tee fun?" the small demon jumped into her arms.
A silver haired hanyo made his presence known, "Hey wench."
"Inuyasha," she smiled, "thanks for letting me stay a little longer."
"Well--I--" he blushed.
Kagome quickly changed the subject, "Where's Miroku and Sango?"
Inuyasha shrugged as the trio began the trek back to village.
"There hasn't been any news on the remaining shards."
"Kikyo might know something," Kagome suggested.
Dog-ears twitched.
"We should..." she paused.
The hanyo had drawn his weapon, "Naraku."
