Kagome walked back to her room completely lost to the world. The events that happened only a few minutes before kept running through her mind.
`He barely touched me and still had me half crazy'
Okay, he more than barely touched her, he had her melting in his hands.
In one part of her mind, she wanted to run back to the kitchen and yell or scream…or kiss…or…
`Down girl!!'
In the other half of her mind, she felt a little dirty. Although she had reasoned that there was no attachment when it came to these situatons she had forgottten about other previous attachments. Part of her heart was still attached to a certain hanyou back home and she felt a little shameful about being unfaithful to him.
“Inuyasha…” 'Not that you were ever faithful to me'
She collapsed at her door as unexpected tears poured uncontrollably from her eyes. Her heart hurt and it felt like it was crumbling under the pain.
“Kami…w-what do I do…?”

Sesshoumaru stood in the shadows observing the scene. He did not say a word or go to her. He just stood there taking it all in. Then, just as quietly as he appeared, he was gone.

She woke up the next morning feeling worse for the wear. Looking into the mirror, she saw that her eyes were red and puffy from where she had cried herself asleep. The trip from her door to the bed was a blur .Her skin was a pasty white pastel color, which made her question if she ever benefited at all from all the traveling she had done in this time period. She threw on some clothes and walked the hallways to the gardens.
Here in such a silent place, she could work out her troubles. It was a nice warm day, with just a few fluffy clouds in the sky. The sun was warm and a pleasant breeze wafted through the small-secluded sanctuary.
She smiled at the sight.
`Kind of reminds me of The Secret Garden' she thought absently.
A crunch of leaves broke her out of her thoughts. She turned to see the yokai who was haunting her thoughts standing there, looking as close to guilty as the emotionless yokai could.
Kagome tried to think of something to say, but all she could do was stare wide-eyed.
“I have come to express my apologies for last night…” He said.
He sat beside her but gave her a lot of space, as if he knew the inner turmoil inside her.
“This Sesshoumaru should not have forced himself on you…it was inexcusable.”
She looked up at the yokai and at that moment, he looked lonelier than any creature she had ever seen. The whole world at that moment seemed to reject him, and she was suddenly afraid he was going to disappear.
She grabbed his hand and squeezed it.
She almost lost the side of him that she was so fond of now, and she wasn't ready to say so long to it yet. She leaned over and kissed him softly; mimicking the first kiss she shared with him. She pulled away and smiled.
“I'm not ready to say goodbye yet…” she said, squeezing his hand one last time, before leaving back for the castle.
“If it's any conciliation to you, I mean everything I do…” Sesshoumaru said as she retreated.
“And if it's any conciliation to you, so do I…” she smiled and left.
Sesshoumaru watched her retreat, a small smile forming on his lips. He looked out to the garden and sighed.
“Yes…you do..."
