Sango woke up the next morning wrapped in Miroku's arms. He was spooned directly up against her body behind her, their legs tangled together. She stretched her arms in front of her, remembering the previous night. She smiled and bit her lip as she heard Miroku shift behind her. He placed a soft kiss on her shoulder blade and tightened his grip around her slightly.

Sango turned her head and smiled at him. "'Morning."

Miroku gave her a sleepy smile. "'Morning gorgeous."

Sango giggled and moved to get up, but Miroku didn't release her. "Wait. Just, say like this for a minute."

Sango gave a contented sigh and laid back down, this time facing him. Miroku pressed his lips to her forehead and smiled. Sango gently ran her fingers up and down his chest, carefully outlining his muscles.

"I wish we could stay like this all day." She murmured silently. Miroku nodded his agreement and traced his fingers up and down her spine.

Sango wrapped her arms around Miroku's torso just as her cell phone rang. She groaned and pulled away. Miroku sighed and released her. Sango quickly wrapped a sheet around her body as she picked the cell phone up off the floor.

"Hello?"

"Sango? It's Ka- AH! Buyo, stop it! It's Kagome. Are you awake?" Kagome sounded breathless and rushed.

"No Kagome, I'm actually still asleep." Sango replied sarcastically.

"Oh shut up. Listen, the police need all six of us to go down to the station for the Kouga and Kikyo thing. Will you wake Miroku? I've got to call Rin and Sess."

"When do they need us there?" Sango asked as she stood up.

"One hour." Kagome responded.

"Okay, see you then."

They hung up and Sango turned around to see Miroku lying completely nude on her bed. "Wha-?"

Miroku chuckled. "You took the sheet."

Sango laughed and threw his boxers at him. "We need to go down to the police station for some more Kouga and Kikyo questioning. We've got to be there in an hour." She grabbed some clothes and hurried out of her room into the bathroom, Miroku hot on her trail as he pulled up his boxers.

Sango quickly shut the door in his face. "Go use Mushin's shower!"

Miroku groaned. "Sango, don't you think we could go a lot faster if we showered together?"

"No!"

Miroku sighed. "Well I tried." He grinned as he heard Sango laugh and headed into his room to get some clothes and take a shower.

Kagome quickly called Rin's house as she rushed from her room into the kitchen for some breakfast. Inu Yasha had shown up twenty minutes before to tell her what his dad had told him.

~|~Flashback~|~

Inu Yasha and his father walked up the steps to Kagome's house. They rang the doorbell and waited for Ms. Higurashi to answer the door. She invited them in as Mr. Go-Shinboku explained why they were there.

"I used some of my connections to speed this process along, and they just need Kagome and everyone else to go in for questioning today, and we should have trial later on this week as to what will happen with the pair of them."

"Oh? Alright well, Kagome is still asleep." Ms. Higurashi said as they walked into the kitchen.

"I'll get her." Inu Yasha said.

He walked through the house and into her room where he saw her sleeping peacefully on her bed. He grinned mischievously as he silently stalked over to her.

He pulled her sheets back gently, careful not to disturb her. When her sheets were down at her knees he slowly pulled up her shirt to right underneath her breasts. Licking his lips he leaned down right onto her stomach. He took a huge breath before placing his lips on her flat stomach and blowing hard.

Kagome shrieked and shot up quickly. Inu Yasha fell backwards, laughing.

She looked around frantically. "What the hell?"

Inu Yasha spoke through his laughter. "That was FUNNY!"

"Why did you do that?" Kagome screamed as she pulled her shirt down and stood up, angered.

"That's for grabbing me when I spent the night!" He snickered, watching her glare at him.

Kagome rolled her eyes. "Why are you here?"

Inu Yasha stood up and pulled her into a loose embrace. "The cops need us to go down and talk about Kouga and Kikyo."

Kagome groaned. "Fine, fine. Does everyone else need to go, too?"

Inu Yasha nodded. "We need to be there in an hour."

Kagome sighed. "Okay, I'll take a shower, you call everyone else."

Inu Yasha was just about to agree when his father called for him up the stairs. "Inu Yasha, your mother just called me. Did you break her porcelain figurine?"

Inu Yasha gritted his teeth. "Damn, she found it."

Kagome shook her head. "FINE, I'll take a shower and then call everyone, you go get yelled at."

Inu Yasha growled and squeezed her backside. She squealed and pulled away, giggling. Kagome took a quick shower and as soon as she was done she called Sango. Now, she was rushing around for breakfast and calling Rin.

~|~End Flashback~|~

"Good morning Kagome!" Rin called happily into her cell phone.

"Hey Rin." Kagome told her the same thing she told Sango.

"Okay, me and Sessy will see you guys there in an hour!"

"Okay, bye!"

They hung up just as Kagome slid to a halt in the kitchen. She saw Inu Yasha sitting across from his father looking grumpy, his father going over some papers, while her mother stood at the counter making breakfast.

"Morning dear." She called cheerfully.

"Morning." Kagome said hurriedly as she opened the fridge and pulled out the orange juice. She gulped some done before making herself a bagel. When she finished, she scampered back out of the kitchen to run up stairs so she could finish getting ready. Inu Yasha quickly followed her.

In Kagome's room she grabbed her hairbrush and began untangling her hair while Inu Yasha hopped onto her bed and laid down. He put his hands behind his head and watched her. When Kagome finally finished she walked over to Inu Yasha.

"Come on lazy, off your butt!" She said, smiling.

Inu Yasha growled and grabbed onto her hand, tugging her down on top of him. Kagome stumbled and fell onto his chest. She laughed and sat up, straddling his hips. Leaning over she placed a gentle kiss on his lips as Inu Yasha rubbed her backside softly. Just as Inu Yasha was about to deepen this kiss, Kagome pulled back.

"We should go." She murmured against his lips.

Inu Yasha nodded and gave her one more quick kiss before releasing her.

The two of them walked downstairs hand in hand. They found Inu Yasha's father saying good-bye to Kagome's mother.

"It shouldn't take very long. I'll bring Kagome back when it's-"

"Actually Dad, I was going to take Kagome out afterwards." Inu Yasha interrupted.

The adults looked at each other and agreed.

"Alright then." Kagome's mother saw them to the door and shut it behind them.

Inu Yasha's father drove the three of them to the station, and they waited for about five minutes before the four others showed up. Inside the station Inu Yasha's father talked with the police before directing them into an interrogation room. They all took their seats around the table and waited for the detective.

Finally, a man entered the room. He shook hands with everyone before introducing himself. "My name is Detective Toutousai. I just have a few questions for all of you, and then we will be done here." They all nodded and he looked down at the papers in front of him. "Kagome Higurashi?"

Kagome raised her hand slightly and he smiled at her. "I thought it was you. Now, please tell me, from the beginning, how this all started."

Kagome nodded and told him about Kouga's messages online. She told him about when he found her in the alley, when he found her in the ice scream store, the message from Kikyo, when Kikyo attacked her in the parking lot and when Kouga attacked her in the hospital. The entire time Inu Yasha was holding her hand, occasionally tightening his grip and looking angry.

When Kagome finished Detective Toutousai asked her a couple of questions before turning to Inu Yasha. "I'm assuming you're Inu Yasha Go-Shinboku, the boyfriend?"

Inu Yasha nodded his head and Kagome smiled.

"Why don't you tell me about what Kikyo said to you when she stopped you outside of the hospital."

So Inu Yasha told him what was said, and told him what happened when he ran into the hospital. Detective Toutousai nodded and then asked Rin, Sess, Sango, and Miroku what they knew about all of this. They all told him what they had told the police before.

Toutousai wrote things down occasionally before finally looking up and saying, "Well, this looks like the trial isn't going to take very long. We've got overwhelming evidence to put Kouga away for a good amount if time."

"What about Kikyo?" Kagome asked quickly.

Detective Toutousai gave her a strange look. "Didn't the police tell you this morning?"

They shook their heads and even Mr. Go-Shinboku looked curious.

Toutousai gave a crooked smile. "Last night Kikyo began acting out in her cell. When they went to go see what was going, she attacked a police officer with a makeshift knife she made somehow. The police officer just has a scratch on his arm, but they've already got her put away. Nothing to worry about there."

Kagome looked shocked while everyone else grinned in satisfaction.

"Finally that bitch is where she belongs." Inu Yasha said.

They all agreed, although Mr. Go-Shinboku rolled his eyes. "Language, Inu Yasha. Your mother is getting pissed at the amount of cussing the pair of us do."

Inu Yasha snorted in amusement. Mr. Go-Shinboku and Detective Toutousai left the room to converse in private, leaving the six teens to themselves.

Rin promptly sat on Sess's lap and hugged him around the neck. "I love you, Sessy!" She piped up suddenly.

Sess smiled and patted her head. "I love you too, Rin."

Kagome looked over at Inu Yasha. "So where were we going to go?"

Inu Yasha shrugged. "I don't know, I figured we could just go hang out. Want to come over tonight?"

Kagome smiled and nodded her head, but suddenly laughed as Sango shot out of her chair. "What was that about, Sango?"

Sango looked embarrassed as she looked around before finally glaring at Miroku, who was grinning widely. "N-nothing."

She sat back down in her chair and scooted away from Miroku. Miroku grinned and, when the others began talking again, leaned closer to Sango and said, "Jumpy, are we?"

She glared at him and whispered back, "I wouldn't be so jumpy if you could keep your hands to yourself!"

Miroku chuckled. "After last night, you honestly think I'm going to keep my hands to myself?"

Sango blushed and looked away, crossing her legs. Miroku grinned and put his arms around her shoulders, but didn't try and grope her.

While Sango was looking around the room, Miroku had suddenly placed his hand on her upper, upper thigh, his fingers pressing directly against her womanhood, causing her to jump in surprise.

A police officer opened the interrogation room after a few minutes. He told them that they could leave now, and that Mr. Go-Shinboku was taking care of the paperwork.

The six teens stood up and walked out of the room following the police officer, Kagome in the lead wrapped in Inu Yasha's arms. As they rounded a corner, they suddenly came face to face with Kouga.

They all stopped. Inu Yasha had tightened his grip on Kagome so much the she squeaked slightly. Kouga was sitting in a chair, his hands handcuffed behind him. He sneered when he saw all of them and stood up.

"Kagome." He looked at her with a mixture of hate and lust.

Kagome pulled Inu Yasha's arms off of her and stepped forward to Kouga. Inu Yasha opened his mouth to yell at Kagome and pull her back, but Rin and Sango stopped him, watching Kagome curiously.

Without a word, Kagome stepped up to Kouga. She looked into his eyes for a few seconds before pulling her leg up and kneeing him painfully in the groin. Kouga gasped for air as he curled forward, falling to the ground. Kagome stepped back and didn't say anything as tears actually came out of his eyes.

Inu Yasha was slightly nervous. He was proud of Kagome for doing that, but he knew how much trouble people could get in for assaulting a person in police custody. He pulled Kagome into a tight hug and looked over at the police office that they were following.

He looked down at Kouga and then up at Kagome and Inu Yasha before saying slowly, "Damn… Don't you hate it when they get hurt and you don't get a good look at the person who did it? Ah well, nothing we can do now."

He turned back around and began leading them back to the front of the police station. Inu Yasha sighed happily before kissing Kagome's cheek. The six of them followed the cop and didn't speak till they were out in the open again.

"Oh my gosh, Kagome!" Rin squealed, grabbing onto her arm.

"That was so cool!" Sango said, also walking over to her.

Kagome gave a tiny laugh. "I don't know what came over me. That was the only thing going through my head when I saw him."

"You've got one powerful kick." Sess said. Miroku nodded and made a show of covering his crotch.

Kagome laughed again. Inu Yasha kissed her cheek and said, "We'll see you guys later." As they all separated, Inu Yasha said, "You scared the hell out of me, wench!"

Kagome giggled. "How did I scare you?"

"You walked right up to the very guy that was trying to rape you not to long ago!" He spat. Kagome flinched and Inu Yasha sighed. "The last thing I wanted was for you to have to see him again."

At Mr. Go-Shinboku's car Kagome gave Inu Yasha a tight hug. "I just wanted to get him back."

"You could have gotten in a lot of trouble, you know." Inu Yasha said as he rubbed her back.

"But I didn't." She pointed out happily.

Inu Yasha was about to retort when his father showed up. "Ready?" The two of them nodded. Mr. Go-Shinboku unlocked the doors and then looked around. "Where's your brother?"

"Probably going back to Rin's." He said as he followed Kagome into the car.

"Damn kid practically lives there." Inu Yasha's father muttered.

He got into the driver's seat and drove the three of them back to the Go-Shinboku house.

Rin bounced happily in her seat as her and Sess drove back to her house. "Sessy Sessy bo bessy! Banana fana fo fessy! Me, my, mo messy! Sessy!"

Sess shook his head and bit back a grin. How could someone like him get a great, bouncy girl like Rin? He'd never figure it out.

When they pulled up to Rin's house she ran around the fountain singing the `Dave the Barbarian' theme song. Sess quickly grabbed hold of her and pulled her into a tight hug. "Where did you get all this energy from?"

Rin giggled. "Moon cheese!" She kissed him hard before pulled him towards the house.

Moon cheese? Good Lord, my girlfriend is insane. Sess thought happily as he followed Rin into the basement.

"Let's watch a movie, Sessy!"

"Okay, but then I've got to leave for a little while." When Rin's face fell he said, "But I'll be back soon."

"Okay, okay. Let's watch `Pirates of the Caribbean'!" She popped the movie in before Sess had a chance to say anything and settled on the couch happily, pulling Sess next to her.

Sess kissed her cheek and said, "I love you, crazy."

Rin giggled. "I love you too, squirrel!"

Sess chuckled and shook his head.

"Let's do it again!"

Sango rubbed her temples and tried to ignore Miroku as they sat in the den.

"Come on! Please?" Miroku began nibbling on her neck and stroking her thigh gently.

"Miroku! I'm not going to have s-"

"Hi guys." Kohaku spoke up, walking into the room.

Sango quickly blushed and pushed Miroku away. "Hey Kohaku. Did you have fun?"

Kohaku laughed as Miroku crawled back up onto the couch, grumbling. "Yeah, it was fun. Ms. Higurashi just dropped me off."

"That was nice of her."

"Um Sango, have you heard from Dad yet?" Kohaku looked apprehensive and looked away when Sango's expression darkened slightly.

"No." She looked back at the TV before taking a deep breath. "Look Kohaku, I'm sure he's fine. Don't worry about him."

Kohaku nodded and said, "Can I go play on your PS2, Miroku?"

"Sure kid, knock yourself out."

Kohaku walked out of the room and Miroku turned to Sango. Before he could say anything she help up her finger. "Don't start, I don't want to talk about it."

Miroku sighed and kissed her finger. "When will you want to talk about it?"

"I don't know. There isn't anything to say."

"Are you ever going to forgive him, Sango?"

"I already have." She said briskly. Miroku looked at her skeptically and she said, "Fine, so I haven't forgiven him. It doesn't matter."

Miroku pulled her onto his lap but didn't say anything.

Kagome and Inu Yasha drove to the movies when they got back to his house. They decided on seeing `Big Fish', and bought their tickets and snacks.

After the movie they went out to a late lunch at a pizza place. From there they went back to Inu Yasha's house. He planned on making out with Kagome, but instead his mother pulled her away and insisted that the girls spend some time together, and Inu Yasha was free to do what he wanted. Kagome happily went with Sakura, and Inu Yasha was left behind them, scowling. So he went to go find his father.

"Hey old man, what `you up to?"

Mr. Go-Shinboku glared at him. "You're such a disrespectful little shit."

Inu Yasha laughed. "Learned from the best. But seriously, what are you working on?"

Mr. Go-Shinboku beckoned Inu Yasha over. "I have closing arguments tomorrow in one of my cases, and I'm drafting together my statement, and I'm trying to find the best way to made the largest impact on the jury."

Inu Yasha read it over. "Why don't you put this sentence close to the top? If you start out with all the boring crap then they'll get bored and stop listening. You need to catch their attention first by explaining how she stabbed her neighbor, and what she did with the weapon afterwards. See? It's boring if you just babble about the `injustice of criminals running free when they've committed murder that they thought out, planned in advance, and executed with precision'."

Mr. Go-Shinboku stared at his son as if he'd never seen him before. "My God, you aren't a complete moron!"

Inu Yasha laughed. "That's what I've been trying to tell you!"

The two of them worked on the draft, and Inu Yasha went over the rest of the case with avid interest.

"You could become a lawyer, Inu Yasha." Mr. Go-Shinboku stated.

Inu Yasha snorted. "And wear boring ass clothes like you? Nah, I hate ties."

Mr. Go-Shinboku shook his head. "Seriously, son. You have a knack for this. I've been watching the way you've looked over the case. You know your shit."

Inu Yasha looked slightly interested. "But all those years at college-"

"Stop being such a baby. It's a good idea. I can see it now: The Go-Shinboku Brothers. Has a ring to it, don't you think?"

"Wait, Sess wants to be a lawyer?"

"We've talked about it. He shows an interest in it as well. And like you, he has quite the knack for it. We've discussed some of my cases." Mr. Go-Shinboku was giving Inu Yasha a look that he couldn't quite place. Wait… was that… pride?

Inu Yasha grinned. "You proud of me, Pop?"

Mr. Go-Shinboku playfully punched his son's arm. "I know, I was a little shocked too."

The two of them looked over previous cases, Inu Yasha actually interested.

Sakura and Kagome walked through the garden in the backyard, taking in all the exquisite flowers and scents around them.

"It's beautiful." Kagome commented quietly.

Sakura nodded. "This is my favorite place. When the three of them, my husband and two sons, are screaming and yelling, I come out here and just… get away." Kagome giggled and Sakura continued. "Being married to a Go-Shinboku, you need a haven like this. I suggest you find one when you and my son marry."

Kagome stumbled over her own feet but caught herself before she fell. "W-what?"

Sakura smiled. "You love my son. And he loves you. I know it."

Kagome bit her lip as a huge grin crossed her face.

"But Go-Shinboku men all have the same disease. You see, they seem to think that you cannot hear them or understand them unless they raise their voices to maximum level. Sess was never really that loud, but he did occasionally yell with them. As soon as Rin came along, he never raised his voice again. My husband used to be so polite, but his sons love to rile him up, so he has started yelling again. I just pray that he doesn't yell at judges." The two of them laughed.

"Have you… Told Rin this, too?" Kagome asked quietly.

Sakura smiled and nodded. "Yes. She of course, was dancing around the garden instead of walking, but I got the message through all the same. I'm just so happy that my sons have found such wonderful girls."

Kagome smiled as they walked through another garden path.

When Rin and Sess finished the movie, Sess stood up. "Okay babe, I'll be back."

"Where are you going, Sessy?" Rin asked as she followed him to the front door.

"Uh, I promised my father I'd pick something up for him."

"Okay. Have fun, Sessy!" She gave him a deep kiss and then shut the door.

Sess smiled and walked away. He had lied to her and he felt bad, but he didn't dwell on it. He got in his car and drove through town. He finally stopped his car and got out. Walking inside of a store he looked around nervously.

An employee hurried over to him. "Good day, Sir. Welcome to Shikon Jewelers. Is there anything I can help you find?"

Sess cleared his throat. "Uh, yeah, can you show me what you have in rings?"

"May I inquire as to what rings you are looking for?" She asked as she led the way.

"Engagement rings."
