Sango woke up one the morning of the last day of Miroku's romantic surprises to see a piece of paper hanging from the ceiling, attached to a string. She slowly got up and looked at the paper. On it was the letter E. Confused, Sango turned it over to see the number 14. She glanced up, totally confused, and saw an arrow pointing out of her room. She grabbed the E and followed the arrows out of her room and down the stairs. In her kitchen on the table was a voice recorder. 'Play me' was written across the top of it. She hit play, and grinned when she heard Miroku's voice.
Hey baby. I guess since you're down here you found my E. Today is going to be a puzzle that you have to put together. You have to find all the clues, and when you do, you find the next letter. See the number 14 on the back? That means that the 'E' is the 14 th letter in whatever it spells. So, here is your first clue. Miroku cleared his throat loudly. In this place, I stole your shoe. Where did I ask you out at? Okay, have fun babe.
Sango laughed out loud and ran upstairs to throw on a pair of tennis shoes, jean shorts and a hot pink tank top. She ran out of the house, still holding the 'E', and jogged all the way to the school. She made a quick scan of the parking lot and, seeing no one around, ran to the building. Naturally, no one was there since it was a Sunday, but so how was she supposed to get inside? She walked slowly up to the door, and the noticed that it was slightly ajar. Sango grinned and shook her head. Quietly walking inside the building she walked down the hall to where Miroku asked her out. At first she didn't see anything. But then she spotted a baby pink piece of paper behind a picture on the wall. She quickly pulled it towards her and saw the letter Y, with a 5 on the back. Looking around she saw another note. Picking it up she read a message on the front of it. 'Can I have your cherry?'
Sango burst into laughter. She held the things in her hands and walked down to the ice cream shop, vividly remembering the conversation that had gone on between her and Miroku. Butterflies fluttered gently in her stomach as she remembered how embarrassed she was at the time, but how happy she was that she gave herself to Miroku. She bit back a grin at the memories.
Inside the ice cream shop she glanced around carefully. Eyes landing on the booth that the six friends had eaten at more than once she noticed a pink ribbon around it, blocking others from sitting there. One of the female employees gave a giddy giggle and motioned for Sango to go to the table. Sango ducked under the ribbon and found on the seat two notes. She picked up the first one to see the letter R on one side, and the number 11 on the other side.
The next note to that one said 'Our first date.'
With that, the female employee walked over to her and said, These are for you, Sango.
Sango looked up in surprise. She saw that the girl was holding a set of car keys. Taking them slowly Sango said, Do I know you?
The girl laughed. No, but I talked to Miroku about all this. He told me that you'd be coming in here, and he asked me to give you those keys when you read the notes. Leaning forward she whispered, This is so romantic what he is doing!
Sango grinned and stood up. She walked outside of the shop and, looking at the keys, suddenly became confused. She had never seen these keys before, so how was she supposed to know what car they belonged to? Suddenly, she felt very stupid. Duh Sango, hit the car lock button. It'll beep at you! She shook her head at herself and hit the button. The car right in front of her beeped twice. She walked around the front of the car and immediately recognized it as Rin's. Who else would have a license plate that read '2kewl4moo'? She laughed as she got in the car. That's just like Miroku, to borrow one of Rin's cars so Sango would get confused.
Sango drove down to the beach and parked the car. She walked through the sand and over to where her and Miroku had their first date, surprised that she still knew the exact spot. She looked around, wondering what she was supposed to find, when suddenly she stepped on something that honked. Jumping back and looking down, Sango saw that Miroku had stuck the notes in a bag, and then buried them beneath the sand. He then had stuck a horn on top of the bag, so she could find it.
When she finished laughing, Sango picked up the horn and the bag before walking back to the car. She sat on the hood of it to read the notes. The first one had a W on one side with a 1 on the other, while the other note simply said 'Chocolate'. She grinned and jumped into the car, heading for the tiny chocolate shop that Miroku introduced her to.
Looking around the outside of the building, Sango searched for a note. But, she couldn't find it. Slowly, she opened the door and walked inside the building a few other customers were waiting in line, and she glanced around curiously, looking for the notes. Suddenly, the woman working there looked up and grinned.
You must be Sango.
Sango slowly nodded her head and the woman handed her a box of chocolates. Sango took the box and opened it. Inside was two more notes, and then several chocolates below that. She popped one of the chocolates in her mouth before picking up the notes. The first one had a 'U' on one side and a 7 on the other. She pocketed this one with all the others and looked at the next one. Instead of having anything written on it, instead was a picture of Miroku's tattoo. She grinned and jumped back into the car.
Once at the tattoo parlor she slowly walked inside, wondering where to look. She glanced around the lobby area and suddenly spotted the guy who had done Miroku's tattoo. He smiled at her and pointed to the hallway. She waved and walked down the hallway till she got to the very room that Miroku got his ink done. She walked in and looked around hesitantly. Suddenly she spotted what she was looking for on the large mirror against the wall. She walked over and peeled the tape on the two notes off the mirror. The first was another clue, with 'A' on one side and 9 on the other. The next piece of paper said 'You didn't show me your hickey here'.
Sango slowly pocketed the notes, thinking. She didn't show him her hickey where? Then it hit her. The hospital! She turned around and left the room. Walking back out into the lobby she called Thanks! to the Mohawk guy and he waved. Hopping back into the car she made the drive down to the hospital. What exactly was he spelling here? She had been trying to guess with each letter, but seeing has how she only had 6, and they weren't in order, she wasn't having much luck.
At the hospital she walked inside, keeping out of the way of the doctors and nurses, all the while looking for the particular hallway where her and Miroku had had the conversation about her father so long ago. Once she found the hallway, she looked around the walls for the notes. Seeing none, she furrowed her forehead slightly and sighed. This was the right place, so where was the note? As the thought swiveled around her head, she glanced at a set of chairs a few feet away. She walked over to the chairs and, trying not to draw attention to herself, kneeled down and peered under the chairs. Jackpot. She thought to herself, grinning. The grasped the little box and stood up, only to sit back down on the chairs. She opened the box and looked at the first one and saw 'M' on one side, 13 on the other. The next note only had an address. 34 th and West Street. She flipped the note over but saw no other writing. She glanced in the box hoping for an explanation, but only gasped. A pair of earrings were in the bottom of the box. They were a gorgeous silver with three diamonds hanging from the end of it. She carefully closed the box and pocketed it. She stood up and walked to the car.
Why had he given her earrings? Not that she was complaining, of course. Merely curious. She tried not to dwell on it as she drove down to the address. At the intersection of 34 th and West she parked and got out. Walking around, she began wondering what exactly she was looking for, and how she would know when she found it. With that in mind, she put her hands on her hips and sighed. Suddenly, a little girl came skipping up to her.
She tapped on her arm and said, These are for you.
Sango took the items slowly, but before she had a chance to say anything, the girl skipped away. Sango looked at the things in her hands. First was two more notes, second was another little box, slightly larger than the last. She looked at the notes to see 'Y' and 12 on one, and 'The Zoo' on the other. She grinned and shook her head. Looking at the box she carefully opened it and her eyes grew wide when she saw what was inside. Two extravagant bracelets made out of white gold. She closed it and hurried to the car.
Taking out the other box, she placed the boxes in the glove compartment so she wouldn't lose them and began driving to the only zoo that she knew of for 10 miles.
At the zoo, Sango got out of her car and walked to the front. She didn't go into the zoo, because she would have had no idea where to go. So, she stood in front of the ticket stands, wondering what to do. She looked around to see if anyone was approaching her, but only saw a balloon. It was moving slightly in the wind, but when the design on the front was facing her, she saw that on it was an arrow. An arrow pointing to one of the ticket stands. She slowly walked over to it and approached the window.
The guy sitting there grinned at her. Hey there Sango. He took something from the desk in front of him and handed it to her. There you go.
Sango walked away feeling more than confused, again. She laughed it off and looked at what he gave her. Same as before, only this box was slightly larger than the last. The notes said 'O' and 6, and the other said ' Don't Feed the Ducks'. Sango grinned. Out of all the parks around here that she knew of, only one had a sign that said not to feed to ducks. Looking down at the box she opened it carefully and her eyes suddenly grew wide when she saw a diamond necklace. She shut it and hurried to her car, storing this box with the rest. Earrings, bracelets, and now a necklace. She was in shock, but thrilled none-the-less.
She drove from the zoo to the park and got out of her car. Looking across the water and seeing all the cute ducks made her grin. Walking to the sign she was looking for, she smiled as she saw some kids playing with each other. They noticed her as she stood by the sign looking around, and they began whispering to each other frantically. Finally they all began playing rock-paper-scissor, and a child was picked as the winner. That child, a boy, grinned and ran behind a group of trees. He emerged with something in his hand, and began running over to Sango. She smiled at him when he approached her shyly.
Here. He said with a quiet voice.
He handed her a box, and she said thank you when she took them. He grinned and ran off. Opening the box she took out the two slips of paper before glancing at the item in the box. 'R' and 10 on one, and the address of the spa place she had gone to on the other. She grinned and opened the box to see an entire set, about twenty in all, of little shimmering hair clips. They were itsy bitsy diamonds, sparking in the light. She bit her lip as she smiled and closed the box. Walking back to her car she waved at the kids. They all grinned and waved, and once she was in her car she drove down to the spa.
Sango walked inside the building and smiled at the receptionist. Nice to see you again, Sango. The woman greeted.
Sango smiled at her. You too.
The woman then pulled something out of a drawer in her desk. It was a box, only by far larger than the rest. I believe this is for you.
Sango grinned and took it. Thanks.
She walked over to the waiting room chairs and sat down. Opening the box she pulled out two slips of paper. 'I' and 2 on one, and '118 th and 2 nd Street ' written on the other. She pocketed the notes and looked in the box. Moving aside the decorative paper on top, she gasped when she suddenly saw a white handbag. She pulled it out of the box slowly, looking it over. It was pure white all over, with three diamonds as the snap keeping it shut. It had a small white handle large enough for her to fit her wrist through.
Carefully putting it back in the box, she closed it and went back to her car, placing this item with the others. She made the short drive to the intersection of 118 th and 2 nd, and parked her car. But before she could get out, an elderly couple that had been sitting on a bench next to a building stood up and walked over to her.
She slowly rolled down the window and the smiled at her. The old woman held up a picture and said to her husband, This is her, dear. See? She's even more beautiful in person.
The man smiled and handed her two boxes. Confused, Sango took them, but smiled politely. The man said, Young love is a treasure, my dear. Hold on to it. He put his arm around his wife, who kissed his cheek, and said, It's a treasure that must always be treated as such.
Sango nodded and watched them walk away before looking down at the boxes in her hands. They were both the size of shoeboxes, and she opened them at the same time, gasping when she saw their contents. Each box held a single shoe, but the shoes matched, with notes sticking out of the tops of them.
The shoes were a beautiful pearl white, with five-inch heels and straps over the entire thing. The buckles were shimmering, like the hair clips. She couldn't stop smiling as she removed the notes. The notes in the left shoe said 'L' and 3, and the other one said 'The right shoe'. Grinning, she looked at the other notes. 'L' and 4 on one, and 'The Docks' on the other. She smiled, knowing that 'The Docks' referred to the place where the Yacht that Miroku had taken her on. She found a small map in the box beneath the shoe, and sighed in relief. After all, Miroku had kept her blindfolded when he took her there.
She placed the extravagant shoes with the other gifts and followed the map down to the Docks. She parked near the yachts and boats and got out of her car. Walking along, she peered around for the particular yacht that she had been on last time. The entrance to the yacht had ribbons tied around it, and Sango smiled to herself as she walked through them and onto the yacht.
Immediately, a large white box caught her eye. She walked over to her and saw a note and a large piece of paper taped on top. The note said 'M' and 8, while the piece of paper said, 'Sango - You made it! This, if you didn't know, is the last clue. Only, it's not really a clue. After you open the box, go below deck to where we had dinner. I love you. - Miroku'
She pocked these things with the rest of the notes in her pockets and carefully opened the box, only to gasp and drop the top of it when she saw what was inside. Carefully laid out was an extraordinarily beautiful dress. She picked it up carefully to examine it more closely. It was a full length white dress, that had sleeves off the shoulder. The dress had no design, but that didn't make it any less gorgeous. It was smooth as silk, and bright as snow. She quickly put it back in the box, for fear of dirtying it. She picked up the box and walked down the stairs to beneath the deck.
She laughed out loud when she saw a table set up, with all the gifts received displayed on it. Assuming that it was Kagome and Rin who had probably snuck around behind her to get them down here, she set the largest box down in the empty space and turned to a large board next to the table. She saw fourteen spaces across it, with a question mark drawn on at the end. Hanging on the left side of the board was a large picture, but it was facing the opposite way. A note written across it said, 'Place all the letters in the appropriate places. When you've finished, flip the picture around.'
She giggled to herself before beginning. Humming to herself quietly, her mind wandered to Miroku as she placed the notes in the correct places. Not bothering to pay attention to what she was spelling, Sango didn't even realize she had place the last one on the board until she felt her empty hand. She laughed softly at her absentmindedness and flipped the picture over. She gasped.
The picture was almost life-size, and was of Miroku wearing a very handsome tuxedo, and on bended knee. He held a box in his hand and a small smile on his face. Sango quickly glanced back at the board and read the message that she had unknowingly spelled. 'Will You Marry Me'. She looked back and forth, from the picture to the words, before she finally saw the message on top of the picture. 'Turn Around'.
Sango whipped around quickly, and gasped yet again as she saw the real Miroku, kneeling in the same position, wearing the same tux, same box in his hands and same expression on his face. Her jaw dropped and she slowly took a step towards her. Miroku's hand, shaking slightly, opened the little box to reveal a stunning diamond ring. It was tear shaped, with tinier, shimmering diamonds outlining in. It had a white gold band.
Will you? He asked in a hushed voice.
Sango bit her lip to keep from crying and nodded her head quickly. Miroku let out the breath he was holding and jumped to his feet. He enveloped Sango in a tight hug as her eyes watered. He kissed her head as she wrapped her arms around his body. Moments later they pulled apart and he help the box up to her. Removing the ring he took her hand and slid it on her finger. I love you.
She gave him a watery smile. I love you too, Miroku.
The two kissed gently and hugged again.
From the stairway, Kagome and Rin cooed, and Inu Yasha and Sess said nothing. The pulled their loved ones away to give the two privacy and Rin thought happily Two down, one to go. She gave Inu Yasha and Kagome a large smile and hugged Sess.

I know! This chapter had NO other couples in it. Sorry! But I wanted to get this out ASAP, and couldn't think of anything else to do for Sess/Rin and Kag/Inu. Next time!
