She ached. She hated the way she felt right now. She couldn't remember what happened. All she knew was that she was in someone's arms. She didn't want to open her eyes. Leave it to her to get drunk and pass out in public... 'Wait! I only had one drink...' she thought as she tried to crack her eyes open. 'Where am I?' she thought to herself upon realizing that all she saw was a black sky, and... trees? Tokyo didn't typically have trees, not enough to smatter the sky with. 'Oh, God! I've been drugged!' She tried to struggle, but the fight was useless. The pain was immense, she couldn't move. 'I have to fight! Help!'
She tried to move, but she could only squirm a little. "Don't move!"
She tried to scream, but could only let out a hoarse, muted cry. "Let me go!" she demanded weakly.
"Shut up!" came a gruff voice, "I don't want to kill you, yet."
Her mouth snapped shut as she realized that not only had she been drugged, but she'd been kidnapped as well. 'Kami, help me! Someone help me!'
She hated it, she didn't like being helpless. 'InuYasha...' she thought as she closed her eyes defeatedly, the tears falling as she prayed silently. He was going to kill her... but apparently he planned on doing far more damage to her before he did. 'Kami, I swear, if you get me out of this, I will never drink in public again! I won't drink... often! Send me some help, please!' she bargained helplessly.
"You are such a silent captive, what are you thinking? Trying to formulate a plan to escape? The potion is designed so that you have minimal strength, your little bow and arrow won’t help you now.” He said, “You will barely be abled to walk.”
She focused hard on the prayers, thinking that maybe she could find a way to reach InuYasha. She’d heard of mikos who had close friendships with hanyous, but she’d never heard of love between a miko and hanyou, aside from the tenuous relationship between Inuyasha and Kikyo, she wanted so badly to be loved by him, but she knew that Inuyasha would never love her. But she also knew that she had a link with him, something that no drug could silence. In her mind she was screaming for him, begging him to enter the well, and come to rescue her, since he had a nose for things like hunting her down.
The tears were streaming down her face, realizing she couldn’t sense anything, including Inuyasha, but she knew that Inuyasha hadn’t gone into the well, she had never told him about the spiritual jolt she got just from him entering the well, and the shock it sent through every nerve ending when he exited on her side, she always knew he was there, even when he didn’t want her to know it. “Young miko, your powers are useless, you see, when I said ‘minimal strength’ I meant it.” He said as she gasped with the shock, he knew, in her time, he knew that she was a miko with power and now…
“If you’re going to kill me, you may as well do it now!” she gasped, “because you are going to have trouble getting away with torturing me.”
“I don’t worry about that with you, the potion is very potent and designed to weaken you for every moment that it’s in your system, eventually you will be a vegetable waiting to be cooked.” He said.
She didn’t like the metaphor he used, it made her cringe. She began to worry that she would never see her mother, grandfather, Sota, or even Inuyasha again. The final made her feel a pain in her heart, the worry grew as they began slowing down. The tears poured as she became weaker. There was something ominous looming before her, she couldn’t stand the thought of never seeing Inuyasha again, his golden eyes and silver hair flying wildly as he fought for her. “Inuyasha, help me.” She whispered as she finally lost consciousness again.
Inuyasha sat quietly beside the well, like he tended to do when she was in her time, though he would never tell her that he waited like he did for her to return, that his chest was empty while she was away, five-hundred years into the future. His heart began pounding in his chest, and he got a sick feeling in his stomach. “Ka…go…me… he said as he doubled over with the sudden pain. He suddenly felt like he needed to go to the future. He leapt into the well, gripping Tetsusaiga as he did. Something was terribly wrong, the knot in his chest grew with every moment that passed. He burst out of the well house with the pounding of his chest ringing in his ears, raced to Kagome’s window and leapt into a very locked glass pane. He ran to the door and burst in to Kagome’s mother sitting very worriedly on the couch. “Where’s Kagome?” they asked in unison.
“You’ve got that feeling, too?” Mrs. Higurashi asked.
“When did you last hear from her?” he asked as the knot in his chest tightened.
“She said she was going to this bar. She didn’t plan on getting drunk.” Mrs. Higurashi said as she clutched her shirt in her fist. The strain on her heart growing. “She was supposed to be home hours ago.”
“I’m going to look for her.” Inuyasha said as he leapt for a hat and covered his ears. He raced down the street, following her scent as he leapt over the Tokyo crowds. Following her scent was easy, all he had to do was sniff, her scent was so intoxicating that he could follow it everywhere.
He found the bar she had gone to, and even found the glass that she had drunk from. He sniffed the glass and dropped in on the floor, racing out of the bar, the scent reminded him of something he’d smelled in Kaede’s hut, the scent had been so strong that it’d nearly knocked him over. Kaede had told him it was a mix of herbs for a potentially deadly poison, more than a drop could put a grown man into a vegetative state permanently unless the antidote could be found. If it was left unchecked for too long, it would kill the same man.
“Kagome!” he said as he raced along the alleyway that her scent followed. He raced, hoping that he wasn’t too late. “Kami, keep her safe.” He prayed as he leapt through the streets of Tokyo, uncaring of who saw him. He followed her scent to the woods, not realizing the tears that streaked his face that stained his cheeks. He would never say it aloud, but Kagome was his world, and he wanted to be sure she knew that.
Kagome awoke, tied to a chair, and unabled to move at all. “Why tie me up, you bastard, if I can’t move anyway?” she asked as she tried to squirm free, but could only wiggle a single finger. ‘Too bad I can’t raise my arm.’ She mentally groused.
“Just in case.” He said as he turned to her a scalpel in hand.
“What are you going to do with that?” she asked as he came closer to her, the sharp blade glittering in the dim early rays of sunrise breaking through the spray painted windows of the old building. It was so dark in there, she could barely see anything, but she got used to seeing in dim light after all of that time camping with Inuyasha. He approached her and ran the back of the blade against her face. Her blood ran cold with fear as her eyes widened as the cold steel ran against her face as she gasped weakly. Her head began to feel almost like jello as she fainted.
A/N: I don’t know how this will turn out. But I would love reviews.
