-Sango's Dreams-
Things are getting blurry now. Dense forests now just seem like green smudges beneath an overcast sky of gray. But ridding on Kirara always made things seem that way. She moves at such great speeds that anything on either side of you becomes a meshed blur of colors. I'm clinging to her tightly now. She's moving much faster then usual. But that may be because she too, feels the need to head home quickly. Perhaps she too, knows that danger is at hand and that Kohaku is in danger. 'Don't worry brother, I'll be with you soon.' I think the words as though he can hear my thoughts.i lie awake and try so hard not to think of you

Taking Over Me
>>>Chapter One<<<
-Sango's Dreams-
I can see the tall gates guarding our demon slayer village. The full moon hangs ominously above it. Everything is deathly silent. The smell of blood ranks the air. The stench of it hits Kirara's sensitive demon nose before my own. She hisses with distaste, and flies even faster toward the village.
The moon lights the gruesome scene before my eyes. Corpses lye everywhere before me. drenched in blood. Not a space on the ground is free from the blemish. Kirara lands quickly on the ground. Clumsily, I jump from her back and run between the bodies scattered before me in search or my family.
"Father! Kohaku!" I call their names, but only the howling wind answers me. I desperately look upon the maimed faces of my fellow demon slayers. Their eyes remain open, though their breath no longer escapes their lips. I squeeze my eyes shut to block out the terror their faces bring me.
"...Sango..." a voice barely reaches my ears. I jerk my eyes open. Blindly I turn and trip over something. I turn to the figure, only to my horror to see that it is my little brother, and beside him is the bloody corpse of my father. Tears poor from my eyes and I don't even try to wipe them away.
"...Sango..." The voice calls my name again. I look to my brothers body, laying beside me on the ground. He turns his blood stained face towards me. I can only call his name and scoop him up into my arms. I hold him, gently rocking his body.
"Sister.." he tries to speak, but I silence him. "No Kohaku, save your strength."
"Sister, I am sorry...I couldn't be a better demon slayer. That I couldn't be...more like you." He smiles at me before he takes one last breath and leaves this world.
I look at him in disbelief. "No." I shake my head. It cannot be true. "No. Kohaku!"

"Sango? Sango?" Miroku gently shook Sango's shoulder in attempts to wake her from her nightmares. Inuyasha and Kagome, with Shippou in her arms hovered nearby. Everyone had been abruptly awoken by Sango's screams and cries for her brother. Finally she awoke, crying heavily. Her whole body covered with a thin layer of perspiration. She let out a whimper and buried her face in Miroku's chest, wailing like a baby. Miroku wrapped his arms around her shaking shoulders, gently comforting her."Sshh, it's okay. Everything is okay now." After a few minutes of Miroku's calming words, Sango's cries had soon dissipated to mere sniffles. She drew away from Miroku and wiped her eyes.
"Sango, are you okay?" Kagome asked, concern written all over her face. She let go of Shippou and knelt beside her distraught friend.
Sango nodded her head in attempts to make everything look as though it were nothing. "Yes I'm fine. Just a bad dream."
"Keh. I think we all deduced that much." Inuyasha said in his usual gruff manor.
"Inuyasha." Kagome scolded him. He refrained from saying anything further.
"Sango if you need to talk..." Miroku left it hanging.
Sango shook her head and answered, " No, that wont be necessary. Really, I'm fine. Let's all just get back to sleep okay?"
Everyone knew Sango wasn't okay, but they didn't want to push it out of her. When she was ready to talk, they'd listen.
So Kagome went back to her sleeping bag, Shippou curled up in her arms, Inuyasha took back his perch atop a nearby tree, and Miroku lay his back against a small boulder which he had previously been sleeping beside-quiet uncomfortably he might add. Sango lay curled up among Kirara's great bushy tails. Her tear stained face not looking the least bit peaceful as she slept. Miroku looked at her with troubled eyes. She had been through so much in her life. Her whole family had been slaughtered by Naraku. Her dead brother had been brought back only to refuse to remember her, or anything from his previous life. She rarely let any of her emotions show. 'But tonight, tonight she...' Miroku lost himself in his thoughts and soon fell into a troubled sleep. His mind filled with the horrors he could only imagine Sango went through.

Everyone awoke that morning, a little distant from one another. No one knew what to say to Sango, and she in turn did not know what to say to them. A tension hung mockingly in the air around them, and quiet frankly it was bothering the wits out of Inuyasha.“Just Tell us what’s bothering you wench!” He demanded. Sango only kept her head bent as she helped Miroku put out the fire.
“Inuyasha!” Kagome scolded, looking at him in disbelief. How could he be so insensitive?
“Well it’s obvious she needs to talk about it. It’ll make her feel better, and besides we all want to know what that damn dream was about any ways!” Kagome looked as if she was about to ‘sit’ him, but Miroku spoke up before she had a chance.
“Inuyasha, if I might have a word with you?”
Inuyasha rewarded Miroku with a look that said 'whatever'. Miroku sighed and pushed himself off the ground, grabbed his shakujou and the tow headed away from the camp.
"Inuyasha should learn to grow up." Shippou stated. Kagome smiled and ruffled the kitsune's hair before helping Sango take care of the rest of camp.

"I know what you're going to say." Inuyasha said. The two hadn't spoken a word to one another since Miroku lead Inuyasha away from their camp. Now they were stopped in front of a small creek that lay dying in the autumn weather."And what am I going to say?" Miroku asked.
Inuyasha kept his eyes on the creek while answering, "You're going to say that I shouldn't yell at her like that, that I need to be more concerned about people's feelings. But just because I yell doesn't mean that I don't care. I’m just worried about her...she looked so shook up last night...”
Miroku looked at the hanyou before him and smiled. "Well it seems you have saved me the trouble of scolding you." he patted Inuyasha on the back. "But as we return to camp, let's act as though everything is normal. When Sango is ready to talk about last night I’m sure we'll all be eager to listen and help her. But until then let's leave her be okay?"
Inuyasha looked at him, knowing he was right. So answered, "Keh. Let's just get back."
As the two headed back, the atmosphere seemed much more relaxed. Like an invisible weight had been lifted up off the air. Sango and Kagome smiled brightly at the two as they came upon them. Sango stood up and said, “ I’m sorry if I have caused you two, or any of you,” she looked back at Kagome and Shippou, “It really was just a foolish nightmare. No need to worry.” She smiled again, waiting for the two men to accept her apology. Miroku, of course, spoke up first. He took a step toward Sango and tightly clasped her hand in his own, causing a slight blush to creep upon her cheeks.
“My dear Sango, I accept your apology, though it will not stop me from worrying about you.” Miroku drew her close and lightly rubbed his hand across her backside. In a flash Sango pushed herself from Miroku’s grasp and threw her hand across his face, causing a loud ‘wack’ to echo across the clearing. Even though Miroku’s face was plastered with the hand print of a very angry taiji, and even though Sango’s face was red with fury and her screams could be heard half- way across the country, everyone knew that things were back to normal again.
...or so they seemed.
