Chapter 1 Deal with the Devil

It was June 17th 2004 or at least that's what his electronic calender said as it flashed `Lunch Date with Kouga.' Inuyasha let out a groan and rotated his neck around for some sort of relaxation. He sat in his brand new 2005 silver BMW. His long silvery hair reflecting the late morning's light and his bright amber eyes widened as he yawned exposing sharp fangs.

"Stupid Traffic." He muttered and took a sip of his coffee. His eyes glanced along the highway looking for any sign of an accident. He sat back and waited paitently as traffic slowly began to move again. His cell phone chirped from its spot on his belt. The caller ID read `Wolf Boy'. "Damn Kouga." Inuyasha murmured as he answered it.

"Yeah what?" Inuyasha asked.

"I was wondering why the fuck you were late dog breath." Kouga retorted. He heard Inuyasha let out a "Feh" in the background.

"Whatever I'm pulling up now!" Inuyasha answered as he flipped his cell phone closed and walked in to the expensive resturant.

He spoted Kouga at a table in a secluded corner. Kouga waved him over. He was sitting in the violet plush chair sipping on his coffee. Kouga was like Inuyasha, lean, muscular, but had long brown hair tied in to a pony tail and pieicing blue ocean eyes. Inuyasha strolled over to Kouga casually.

"Yo." Inuyasha said taking a seat.

Kouga smirked. "Yo back."

Inuyasha raised an eyebrow. He and Wolf were not the casual friends. They hated each other. "Why did you call?" Inuyasha asked.

Kouga's smirked grw wider. "Ah yes. Well you see the Museum in France, The Lourve has just got a new piece." Kouga began. Inuyasha ordered a drink.

"Your point is?"Inuyasha huffed as he took a sip of his tea.

"Let's make a little wager." Kouga said. He flashed his fangs and pulled out his wallet.

~8888~~~8888~~~8888 Japanese Musem of Art in Tokyo

Silence was all that could be heard to the human ear. The glass cutter scraped at the skylight in a circular shape. Black gloved hands reached out and grabbed the glass before it fell. A long rope was lowerd in to the main art room. A dark figure scaled down the rope till it's boots tapped the marble flooring. The figure looked around before tugging on the rope a bit. The small red lights on the security camera's went off. The figure removed the dark ski mask. Long ebony hair flowed down passed the figure's shoulders and green eyes could be seen shining brightly even in the dark. The figure's name? Kagome Higurashi. She glanced around a bit before dashing down the hall way to her right.

She entered the "Modern Art" foyer and began counting pictures. She spotted it. The third painting on the right in the fourth row from the bottom. It was about eight feet up. Her dainty fingers went straight to her utility belt. She called it her gadget belt. Most of her gadgets were made by her genius brother Souta. She grabbed a gun like thing. She aimed it up and pulled the trigger. A string shot up and out of it and latched on to the ceiling with a claw-like device.She pulled the trigger again and it tugged her upward. When she reached eye level with the painting she pulled the gun still attached to the string and tied it around her belt buckle. It held her tiny frame up as she grasped the painting with both hands. Behind the painting there was something on the wall. Kagome squinted and then her eyes got wide. For a professional theif of five years she had never been caught. Now she had realized she triggered a silent alarm.

She reached a hand down to her belt and took out a razor blade. She sliced the string holdering her and landed on her feet in stilletto boots. She took off in a mad run. She made it back to the main room and she violently tugged in the rope with her free hand. She gripped it as the person on the other end pulled her up. She put the glass back in place at the window and turned to her partner. "Miroku, I triggered a silent alarm!" She hissed. The man looked up and slammed his laptop closed. "Let's go!" He urged taking the paintig from her and sliding it in to a black velvet sack. The ran to the edge of the roof with all their stuff. Blinding lights flashed over the two. A voice came up. "You two are under arrest!" Miroku and Kagome both dropped everything in hand and raised their hands.

"Deal" Inuyasha said reaching a clawed hand across the table. Kouga gripped his hand hard and they both made a silent agreement. "The deal ends in 3 months, if by then no team has stolen the prize then the deal is off." Kouga said. Inuyasha nodded and they went their separate ways.

Once out to his car Inuyasha pulled out his cell phone and dialed his half-brother Sesshoumaru.

"Yes?" The cold voice answered.

"I need to assemble a team. The best of the best." Inuyasha said.

"Very well" Sesshoumaru said.

Inuyasha flipped his cell phone closed and drove home to his shared mansion. He shared it with his older half-brother Sesshoumaru and his sister-in-law Rin. Minutes later he pulled in to the iron gates of Takahashi manor.

He entered the study were his brother sat along with Rin sitting in Sesshoumaru's lap. Rin was quite the looker, She had shoulder length brown hair and big brown eyes to match. Her skinny little body was perched on her husbands lap and her smile made the room feel less empty. Inuyasha strolled over to the desk. Sess slid him a pile of papers with photographs. "The best of the best in Japan." Sess said.

Inuyasha's amber eyes scaned the papers:

Paper 1

Name:Sango Taijia

Occupation/ Specialty: Demolition Expert

Status: Single, Lives Alone in Kyoto

Inuyasha looked over the page and then at the picture of the woman. She looked tough from her mug-shot. He nodded to himself and looked at the next one.

Paper 2

Name: Miroku Houshi

Occupation/Speciality: Technology Expert, Majors in Computers

Status: Single. Lives Alone in Tokyo

Inuyasha nodded once again and looked at the picture. "He'll do along with this Sango."

Paper 3

Name Kagome Higurashi

Occupation/ Speciality: Proffesional Thief of five years/ Speacilizes in Stealth.

Status: Single. Lives at a Shrine in Tokyo alone.

Inuyasha stopped mid way reading her profile. He flashed the picture at Sess. "Don't let her age and good looks fool you." Sesshoumaru said. Inuyasha shrugged and put the other papers down. "Good Job." Inuyasha complimented. "Now lets assemble the team" He ordered.

"Come on! Let Me out! I didn't get away with it!" Kagome screammed from inside her jail cell. Miroku was in the cell next her mourning over the loss of his laptop. "Stupid alarm!" He muttered.

Kagome paced around the little cement area. She grimaced, it was dirty. The sink and toilet were covered with scumb and grime and the bed looked liked it was harboring mold. She glanced up as a guard dressed in grey walked up to her cell. "Higurashi, boyfriend to see you." He said unlocking her stall and taking her by the forearm. He led her to a vistor room. She let a gasp escape her lips at the handsome man that sat in there. He had long silver hair and golden orbs along with two white doggie ears atop his head.

The door to the vistors room opened and Kagome was led in and dropped off.

"Hey babe." Inuyasha said looping his strong arms around her small waist and kissibg her full on the lips. Her scent was intoxicating.

Kagome's eyes widened. She had no idea who this guy was. When He broke the kiss he leaned down close to her ear. "My name is Inuyasha Takahashi and I will bail you out for good if you help me out in return." He said. He backed away to stare in to her face. She beautiful he had to admit that. He watched as she eyed him suspiciously. "Miroku gets out too." He added. Kagome didn't take long to find an answer.

"Yes, fine." She said. He flashed her a sexy smile.

"Good." He stated and the guard came back in and took Kagome back to her cell.

"I'm FREE! Thank Kami!" Kagome smiled as she ran down the steps of the prison. She grabbed Miroku's clothes and hugged him. "I never thought we would get out of that one." Kagome giggled.

Miroku returned his best friend's hug and thought a moment. "Hey Kags how did you get us out of that one?" He asked. Kagome's smile faded a bit and a black limo pulled up to the curb side.

"Oh." Kagome said.

Miroku raised an eyebrow as the limo driver opened the door and Inuyasha leaned his head out. "Time to finish out deal. Get in both of you." He said blankly. Miroku looked over to Kagome. She avoided his gaze and followed him in to the limo. What had she gotton her self in to?
