Warnings: Death. Lots and lots of blood (that's a given, seeing the title). Lemons (no more than four). Very slight slash (F/F) later on in the story. Coarse language. Graphic Content. Sexual content/suggestions. Some OCC.

Part Summaries:

Part One: This story starts off by Kagome getting raped and poisoned by a snake youkai, and the only way to get rid of the poison is to use healthy Youkai blood. Kagome and Inuyasha must go to her time so she can finish school. Meanwhile, trying to cope with both physical and mental pain.

Part Two: Kagome is now a youkai, and must learn to control the youkai blood in her veins. Kagome will become an almost completely different person. Unseen deaths, acquaintances, and happenings are seen in this part.

Part Three: This is where everything starts to fall apart, and where the turning point takes a drastic turn. Inuyasha's emotions are finally revealed, but than are quickly taken away by seeming betrayal. Everyone goes their separate ways. They may take different paths, but their destinations are all the same.

Part Four: This is where everything ends. For better or for worse.

Chapter One

'Remember Kagome it's for your own good' she told herself, as she was closing into the well. Just when she was about ten feet from it, she saw something move from the corner of her eye. Kagome turned around expecting a very pissed off Inu-hanyou. However a strange creature appeared almost instantly. The lower half of his body resembled a snake

"You must be the miko protecting the Shikon no Tama," he hissed. "I can sssmell it on you," he said with a seductive smirk. Kagome was about to scream when she felt his long fork-like tong on her neck, but he stopped to introduce himself.

"I am Yuko, a snake youkia and leader of my clan," he said giving himself a little bow. "I have important business with you miko," he finished and smirked. The snake youkai wrapped his tail around Kagome's thigh in a bruising grip.

No matter how afraid she was Kagome wasn't having any of it. She scratched the youkia's face. He released her and she ran as fast as she could to the well, but it wasn't fast enough. Yuko grabbed her by the ankles and causing her fall to the ground. Her head struck the side of the well, causing a gash. Kagome didn't black out, her stubbornness and will to live, wouldn't allow her to. Though later she'd wish she had.

"Damn miko," he cursed, as he dragged her until she was under him. "I wasss going to go easssy on you, but now I guesss I won't with that little ssstunt you pulled," he smirked, and aggressively ripped her shirt off, with no outward show of remorse. His long fangs slid deep into Kagome's neck, while grabbing her breasts and digging his claws in, sending waves of pain throughout her being. As her screams started to get louder, Yuko removed his teeth from her neck, using them to pin her mouth closed.. Blood streamed from her mouth, leaving ruby trails on her pale cheeks. When he finally got her quiet, he removed his fangs and looked at her, licking his lips and relishing the taste of her blood.

"I have no intentionsss of killing you," he said. "At leassst not directly. It'sss only a job, don't take it persssonally." He shredded the rest of her clothing off, scratching and bruising her it the process.

"Why," Kagome cried, salty tears mixing with crimson blood. Yuko stared at the human girl below him. He could think of nothing but why. Why was he doing this? For power? Strength and power in the youkai world amounted to everything, yet this was not the answer. He glanced at the miko once more and quickly turned away, ashamed of himself. He must do this, he told himself. Keeping his eyes averted from Kagome, the end of his tail slammed into her. She screamed in pain, feeling faint as the tail went deeper and deeper inside her. When his tail couldn't go any further, he stabbed her precious insides. As he injected his poisonous venom, Kagome felt pain more than she had ever felt in her entire life. If her last scream couldn't penetrate through the ears of the living, nothing else would.

Inuyasha, who was sleeping for the first time in days, woke up to the screams of Kagome. He smelt a lot of her blood when he left Kaede's hut. As fast as he could he ran to the hut where the smell was coming from. What he saw was one of the most horrific things he's ever seen in his life, and he was a hanyou. A snake youkai, with his tail inside Kagome.

"I'm finished with you," Yuko said when he sensed Inuyasha. "I am truly sssorry," he barely whispered. He started to leave, but Inuyasha unexpectedly came out and cut off his arm. The expression on Yuko's face changed.

"Why if it isssn't the protector of thisss beautiful miko," he said and picked up his arm and reattached it. "If you were doing your job, thisss wouldn't have happened," he said emotionless. Yuko than remembered the miko's question. <I> Why? </I> He wanted the power to protect those close to him, but did he pay too high a price for that power?

"I'm going to fucking kill you!" Inuyasha said interrupting the snake's thoughts, and went to attack him. Yuko dogged it, and turned to look at Inuyasha with still emotionless eyes.

"It'sss already too late. The poissson isss in her, and the miko will die. Ssshe hasss until the nexsst full moon," he finished. As an after thought he added, "take care of her."

"What the hell did you say?!" The hanyou asked, but the snake left as fast as he came. For a second he thought about going after him, but went to Kagome instead.

"Inuyasha," she cried in a whisper and opened her eyes to look at him. She lifted her arms and tightly wrapped them around his neck. He carefully picked her up.

"It's ok Kagome I'm here," he confered her as she cried in his chest.

"It hurt so much," she contunued crying, with her lips still bleading. The pain was so overwhelming, that she finaly passed out. Inuyasha ran as fast as he could with out hurting Kagome more to Kaede's hut. He kicked the door open waking everyone up.

"Okaasan!" Shippou yelled.

"Get him the hell out of here!" Inuyasha said to anyone. They were just frozen with piled faces. He had to say it again. They nodded and took the struggling kitsune outside.

"Oh my," Kaede said when she entered the room. "The poor child!"

"Baba, make one of those baths," he yelled to the old woman. Without any questions she and Sango went to the hot springs to fill up buckets.

"What has happened Inuyasha," she asked as she handed him a cloth. He ignored the question and took the cloth. He went into Kaede's room and closed the door behind him with Kagome in his arms. He placed her in the tub of hot water, and washed the blood off her face. He washed and remover the hair from the gash on her head. When he cleaned her neck he saw the bight mark. A colorful choice of words streamed from his mouth.

"That basted!" he rubbed his fingers on the mark. "How the hell is she going to find mate now!?" he said while taking her out of the bath. He wrapped her in a thin cloth, careful not to hurt her. He sat on the bed and cradled her in his arms.

"I'm so sorry Kagome I should have been there," he said rocking her back and forth. Mostly for his sake than hers. "Don't worry though I'll find a way to get rid of the poison," he said very aware that she was unconscious, he just needed comfort himself.

Kagome was running. She couldn't see what she was running from. She was trying to get to Inuyasha. The closer she got to him the further away he got.

"Inuyasha!" she yelled, but he didn't answer. Than something grabbed her from behind, and turned her around. It was the snake youkai, Yuko.

"Sweat dreams, miko," he smirked and Kagome screamed.

"INUYASHA!!!" Kagome yelled, waking herself up.

"Kagome," Inuyasha said calming her down and pulling her closer to him. She had a death grip around his neck, not noticing she had only a thin sheet on. Inuyasha did however.

"I'm sorry Inuyasha, I'm so sorry. If I had listed to you and not run off…this wouldn't have happened," she said just looking at the wall behind him.

"Stop," he put his finger on her torn lips. "It wasn't your fault and don't you say that again. I should have been there to protect you, and I wasn't," he said looking at her face. Kagome looked at his face and saw pure emotion in his eyes, she decided to let him get his way. She ended that subject.

"When is the next full moon?" Kagome asked, and looked away from him again to stare at the wall.

"In about two weeks," he said as his grip on her tightened.

"Oh," she put her head in his chest.

"Kagome, I promise I will find a way to get rid of the poison, and I will do anything I can." He rested his chin on Kagome's head.

"I was so scared. I don't remember ever being that scared in my life. It's funny though, she said with a forced smile. "I have been chased and almost rapped for more than three years now. Though I never thought my biggest fear would come true, but it did and I did get rapped," she sobbed.

"It won't happen again," said Inuyasha.

"No, It wont," Kagome whispered. She would never let it happen again.

"I'm sorry Kagome," Inuyasha said when he saw the pain in her eyes.

"I was seven and my sister was sixteen. My sister was rapped and brutally murdered by three male gang members because her boyfriend did something to make them angry," she said as if she was reading a memory book. "Ever since then I was deathly afraid of getting rapped," Inuyasha looked at her, he was not going to let her die no matter what he will do anything.

"You will not die Kagome," he told her.

"It doesn't matter," she said in his chest. "I was used up and thrown away like some unwanted peace of trash! Even if I do live, no one's going to want me," she started crying again. "I don't want to be rejected," she sobbed. "I don't want to be rejected by the one I love," she looked at him. Inuyasha saw the pain in her eyes. He had no idea why she would think that.

"Stop it Kagome!" he told her demandingly. "That's nonsense. If someone truly loved you they wouldn't reject you," he said.

"But-"

"Shh," he quieted her. She listened and rested her head on his chest. That's when Shippou chose to come in.

"Okaasan?!" he said looking at her.

"Shippou-chan," Kagome changed her expression and forced a smile. He jumped on her lap. Kagome let out a small grunt, but she wouldn't show it no matter how much it hurt. Inuyasha however almost squeezed the life out of the kitsune taking him off Kagome.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?!" Inuyasha said.

"I was seeing if she was ok," he said struggling to get out of the hangout's grasp. "Now put me down Inuyasha!"

"By jumping on her?" he said and put the kit on his shoulder.

"Are you hurt badly?" Shippou asked.

"No Shippou-chan, not that much," she smiled.

"What happed to you, Okaasan?"

"I jut fell really bad that's all," she lied, not wanting to tell him.

"But you smell…" he trailed off.

"Shouldn't you be asleep now, brat!" Inuyasha said giving him a look that could freeze fire.

"Not while Okaasan was hurt. I couldn't sleep," he said. This time a real smile came to Kagome's face. Hesitantly she unwrapped her arms from Inuyasha's neck and held them up to get Shippou from Inuyasha's shoulder. Kagome heald him as tightly as she could, ignoring the scratches and bruises on her chest.

"I love you so much, Shippou-chan," she said.

"I love you too Okaasan," he said. Kagome fell asleep like that. In Inuyasha's lap with Shippou in her arms the two youkai watched her sleep. Shippou had a lot to talk about with Inuyasha.
