Tears of Blood
Chapter Five
xXx
"Miroku," Sango said from behind the monk, he didn't respond. She sat next to him, still nothing; she sighed. "Please don't be angry with Shippou-chan."
A pause.
"My dear Sango, I am not angry with Shippou-chan," he didn't look at her, but at the blood red sunset on the horizon. "For now I know what happened to my family."
"Inuyasha and Kagome left already," she also stared at the sunset. "They were looking for you. Kagome was really shaken up." Miroku continued to gaze at the bleeding sky.
"Sango?"
"Yes?"
"Would you mind if we don't talk about it?" he asked, .
"…Alright, if you want me to go--"
"No, stay here with me," he pleaded, for the first time, looking at her. His face was no longer the emotionless façade he always kept. His eyes were like a pleading child's. Sango almost cried.
"I'll stay with you," she put her head on his shoulder and they both watched the stars reveal themselves in the night sky.. Despite the last few days events, they fell into a deep sleep.
xXx
When they got to the house, Inuyasha was already human and Kagome's grandfather opened the door. He was about to start chanting and throw youkai scrolls at Inuyasha, until he saw a human.
"Oh, I thought that you were that youkai that always follows Kagome around," he said letting them in.
"… Uh, I am," he rubbed the back of his head in confusion, they just stared at each other
"Die evil youkai!" he threw the scrolls at the now human Inu-hanyou. Inuyasha's eye twitched as the sticky pieces of paper stuck to him.
"Old man, if they don't work when I'm a hanyou, then they sure as hell won't work when I'm a human!" Inuyasha yelled at him.
"Grandpa, Inuyasha will be staying with us until I finish school," Kagome finally said.
"There is no way that youkai-"
"Dad!" a voice from the kitchen said. "That is no way to treat a guest, one that will be staying for a while," Mrs. Higurashi said.
"What!?"
"How have you been?" she ignored him. "Oh Kagome dear, what a beautiful kimono!"
"Thanks, it’s from Inuyasha," she replied.
"Oh, What's the occasion?!" he mother asked.
"It's a long story," she dropped her head "We'll tell you tomorrow. I'm really tired," Kagome faked a smile.
"Alright," she turned to Inuyasha. "You'll be staying in Kagome room?"
"Keh"
"He will," Kagome properly answered for him.
"All right, but you two behave," she smiled as they walked up the stairs.
"I can't believe you're letting him stay here and in Kagome's room no less."
"They are the best thing for each other, and I know he won't do anything."
xXx
As soon as the door closed, before Inuyasha could react, Kagome sank to the floor and held her knees.
"I don't want to die, not like that," she sobbed. Inuyasha cradled her in his arms.
"Don't worry Kagome, we'll get rid of it. We only have tonight and two more weeks to get rid of it," he reminded her, she nodded.
"I know," she said to his chest. He gave her one last squeeze before letting her go and helped her up. "Why don't you get changed into those pajama things you wear?"
"Right," she smiled and went to her dresser and took out a white nightgown. She went to change in the bathroom. By the time she got back, Inuyasha was curled up into a ball next to her bed apparently sleeping. Kagome smiled.
"Only you could go to sleep that fast." She didn't see the smirk on his face. Kagome fell onto her bed and asleep soon as her head hit the pillow. Inuyasha turned over to watch her sleep as he always did.
xXx
She was running again. She looked back and saw the snake youkai Yuko. She closed her eyes and ran faster. This time there was no image of Inuyasha, she was alone; then the snake spoke…
"Ku, ku, ku. My dear miko," Kagome froze, it was Naraku's voice. "Why do you run?" he asked seductively. She hesitantly turned around. Yuko was no longer there. Naraku was so close to her, that she could almost feel him.
"You. It was you!" she spat.
"I am surprised you didn't find out earlier," he smirked. "Snake youkai can not evade minds, and I can't even do that with out some kind of help." He continued to smirk. "Snake youkai are only good for killing human females."
"You damned youkai," she was shaking with rage.
"Now it is up to Inuyasha to save his future mate. He failed to save the other from me," he laughed.
"You!" purple/white energy started to form in her hand. "You will leave Inuyasha alone." The purifying power exploded and flew from her hand to his smirking image. It disappeared, and then she heard laughing.
"Was that meant to hurt me?" the evil youkai mocked.
"I'm going to kill you. You don't disserve to live," she yelled.
"That is, if you live miko," the voice said and disappeared all together. Kagome was left in the darkness alone. Then she felt the presents of someone else. Kagome reached for it, and fell into a deep sleep.
xXx
Inuyasha noticed Kagome's discomfort while she was sleeping. So Inuyasha go up off the floor and hesitantly laid next to her. He protectively pulled her close into his chest, felling every curve of her body through the thin material. He rubbed her stomach; it seemed to calm her down.
xXx
"Damn sun," Kagome mumbled. She tried to get up, but she was stuck. "Wha…" than she noticed white hair over her shoulder and an arm around her abdomen. It was Inuyasha and his legs were wrapped around hers, she almost squeaked. It was another one of those occasions that some one was bound to see. And that is exactly what happened…
"Ka-go-me?!" It was non other than her younger brother. He blushed and started to leave.
"Wait, Souta," she yelled and tried to get up but tripped and took the sheets, along with Inuyasha, with her. The boy couldn't help but laugh at the sight. Inuyasha landed on his head and was knocked unconscious and Kagome was fighting to get out from underneath the sheets.
"Having a little trouble there?" Souta cried from the floor. Finally she broke free with a laugh and stuck her tongue at him. Inuyasha also woke up from his coma and was rubbing his head.
"What do you want," Kagome asked her brother with her hands on her hips.
"You mean before you were… um."
"Souta! You hentai, we weren't doing anything," she fumed.
"Ri-ght," he giggled.
"You," she warned.
"Kaasan wanted you two to wake up, and that you needed to talk to her," he finished and ran out of the room.
"Oh yea," she groaned and sat on the floor.
"Um?" a voice said from behind her. She turned around, pissed off.
"What were you doing?" she fumed.
"You looked like you were having trouble sleeping. I didn't want to wake you… uh…" he defended himself. "It worked, didn't it?!" A smile came to her face.
"So it was you," she whispered.
"What?" he asked confused.
"Never mind," she shook he head. "Hurry up and get out so I can get changed," she shoved him out of her room and got changed into her green and white uniform.
-xXx
"So that's what happened," Kagome finished with a heavy heart. Thankfully, Inuyasha was there for support. Kagome's mother was on her third cup of coffee.
"Is there a cure?" she asked abnormally calm.
"That's the problem," her daughter said. "Youkai blood has to be injected in to me in order to get rid of it."
"That's it!?" was all she said.
"The only time we can do that in on the new moon, which was yesterday, and the full moon which is supposed to be the day after I graduate." Kagome continued. "At least that what it says on the calender."
"That's all?" her mother asked again.
"Well there is on more thing," Inuyasha decided to take a turn. "Her blood will change, she might become a hanyou, a full youkai, we don't know. We don't even know what she'll look like. We'll use my blood so it won't interfere too much with her miko blood," he finished. She thought for a long while.
"Alright then, it's settled," she went to stand up to remove the kinks in her muscles.
"What?!" the grandfather didn't have as much optimism as his daughter. "You become a youkai!? I wont have any of it," he said.
"And let her die?!" the two argued. They didn't notice Kagome and Inuyasha leave.
"That's my family," Kagome said sadly.
"You're still going to those 'test' things?" Inuyasha asked.
"Well better late than never," she said and started walking down the shrine stairs. She noticed Inuyasha following her, she turned around. "What are you doing?" she asked him.
"I'm going with you," he said walking up beside her. She gave him a strange look. "You didn't expect me to stay here did you?" he told her, and they started walking.
"What am I going to do with you?" she asked.
"You'll find some thing-" he was interrupted when he heard some one yell her name.
"KAGOME!" she turned around to face her three friends. Damn.
"Hi guys," she said with a fake smile, and standing in front of Inuyasha.
"Kagome, how are you felling? You were out for a while."
"Did you see Hojo yet?"
"Who's that?" Were some of the questions she heard.
"What beautiful ears," one of her friends said to Inuyasha and tried to touch them, but Kagome stopped her.
"Yes, I'm fine. No I didn't see Hojo, nor do I care to. This is Inuyasha," Kagome sighed.
"That's Inuyasha?! The two tim-" the school bell rang. Kagome let out a breath as her friends panicked and ran into the building.
"I swear, humans are very strange," the hanyou commented.
"Inuyasha," she looked at him. "You si-stay in a tree until I get out," she told him. "You can look in on me threw a window, just do not come it at all," she said, and before he could say anything she was off the building.
"Keh," he said to no one but himself and found himself a tree.
-xXx
"Still can't find him?" asked the monk.
"No," Sango dropped her head. "I'm worried about Shippou-chan. He hasn't been back in a while," she sighed.
"Don't worry, he'll return," he sat next to her for comfort.
"When will Kagome and Inuyasha come back?" she asked.
"They'll be back soon as well. By that time, Kagome-sama should be healed," Miroku told her. He noticed that she needed some cheering up.
"I hope so," she folded her arms over her chest. Then she saw the hand creeping towards her.
"Don't," she said. The hand stopped. She turned to look at him, then turned away. "Hentai," she mumbled. The monk was shocked.
"I am surprised, you didn't hit me," he said with out thinking. She turned her head so fast that it looked like it would fall off.
"What?!"
"I mean-" he waved his hands in front of his face.
"You want me to hit you?!" she yelled and took the giant boomerang out of no where.
"No, no. I meant that you usually hit me," he tried to defend himself. Not that is was working.
"Ok, " she said sweetly. He watched as she swung the weapon. With in five seconds, Miroku was out cold on the ground. Sango walked into the hut, with her hands in fists and at her sides. "Serves the lecher right."
-xXx
"No," Kagome said stubbornly and folded her arms. "I already had some of that yesterday."
"Yes, and the day before and the day before that," Inuyasha said, irritated.
"But it's disgusting!" she tried reasoning.
"You're being childish," he told her.
"And you're one to say that I'm being childish?!" she yelled.
"You want to be in pain until you're healed?!" There was a long pause.
"No," she finally answered. "But I still don't want to drink it."
"Argg," he put the bowl of foul tasting/smelling liquid down and pounced on her. She yelled in surprise as he sat on her, and picked up the bowl.
"Now, you will drink this," he smirked and put the bowl to her mouth. Of coarse she didn't drink it, she would be stubborn to the very end. He was expecting that, and held her nose. She couldn't help it, and her lungs took over. As soon as her mouth was open, nasty tasting medicine poured down her throat. He let go of her nose when he was sure she drank it all.
"See, now that wasn't so hard, was it?" he mocked.
"You! Get off me so I can kill you!" she threatened,
"We'll then, I'll just have to stay here wont I?" he smirked.
"Get off me!"
"Will you try to attack me?"
"Of coarse I will," she said matter-of-factly.
"Nope, wrong answer," he held his hand on her wrist and putting his face just inches from hers, his smirk not once leaving.
"I'll scream," She threatened.
"No you wont."
"Yes I will."
"No."
"Urg, you're suffocating me," she whined. Just as she opened her mouth to say some thing else, it was covered, by Inuyasha's. He did the first thing her could think of to shut her up, he kissed her. His hot tongue begged entry to her mouth, which she granted.
There they were, Inuyasha lying on top of Kagome kissing. It was another one of those situations where something was bound to interrupt. Inuyasha moved his knees so they wouldn't dig into her stomach. His legs were intertwined with hers.
"Wow," Kagome gasped and kept her eyes locked with his golden orbs. They didn't notice a very fat and very protective cat ready to kill.
"S-sorry," Inuyasha started to apologies, but made no sign of moving.
"No, don't--" she started, but then a big ball of fluff came out of no where, claws ready, and landed right on Inuyasha's face. He started running around the room with a cat on his face. It was a sight for the ages, and Kagome couldn't stop laughing.
"The cat chasing the dog," she was in tears.
"GET. IT. OFF. ME!!!" he yelled trying to rip the obese cat off his face, while running into a wall because he couldn't see where he was going. Kagome couldn't breath. Inuyasha growled and it made her laugh even more, if that was possible.
"This is most definitely a Kodak moment," she got her camera and took a picture, then took a second and a third. Finaly Inuyasha was able to get the cat off, and threw it. He looked at the miko with his eye twitching.
"What the hell are you laughing at!?"
"You!" she pointed a finger at him.
"Why you--" he threatened, but then a voice from down stairs interrupted.
"Kagome, Inuyasha, it's time to go," her mother yelled.
"Alright, we're coming," Kagome yelled back.
"Uh?" The Inu-hanyou looked at her.
"We're going shopping," she told him.
"Eh?" he was confused.
"And you get to hold the bags," an evil smirk came to her face.
"Feh," he folded his arms, he still had no idea what she was talking about.
"Whatever," she sighed. "Now get out so I can get ready," she told him, and he walked out of the room still confused.
As Kagome was getting ready, she banged into her bookshelf. And as her luck would have it, books fell. Surprisingly, only one fell on her.
"Ow," she rubbed her head and picked up the book that fell. I looked very old. "I've never seen this before," she said to no one but her self. She examined the old book and opened it randomly. The page read…
-xXx

The scarlet clouds will cry
and Tears of blood shall fall from the heavens,
covering the earth with crimson seas.
The red sky will rule the world,
an evil tyrant in its wake.
From the shadows,
a black widow will be born.

-xXx
Before she could read anymore the door was thrown open, and she slammed the book closed. It was Inuyasha, she put the book on the ground with the others.
"Are you alright?" he asked.
"I'm fine," she said and got up to leave, she walked past him and down the stairs. Inuyasha looked at the book that she just put down, it looked oddly familiar to him. He picked up the book and opened to the first page. He dropped it when he saw the first words.
My dear Inuyasha,
"INUYASHA, LET'S GO!" Kagome's voice said. He picked up the book and put it in his sleeve. He knew what the book was. It was his mother's.

Author's note:
I really don't think that there was anything that had to edited out, but if there is please let me know and I'll take it out. I don't want this taken off again.
Notes to reviewers:
Lazychic101: Thanks, this story is written on unpredictability. Yes, it was Miroku's family. If you want, you can go to the other site where this is posted and see in detail what happend to them.
Red-tigergirl2: Glad you love it!
Lyn: Thanks for reviewing.
Short 'n Simple: Thanks for the review, and for saying that this was written beautifully. I still have my doubts.
IttleBit InuFan: Thanks, you're the only one so far who has given me real constructive criticism. With the spelling for floor, I know, I'm just getting lazy and don't feel like going back and fixing it. As I said before, one can only re-read a story so much before they feel like burning it. And with detail, I know that too. But latter on there's more detailI will put more detail into scenery. When I write, I seem to like dialogue more than description. I do admit, there has to be more scenery in here. I do hope this story turns out the way I want it to also. This is a story the seems to keep going on. I really have to think of an ending for this. You'll see what I mean when I post more chapters. Anyway, thanks for reviewing.
Note to all readers:
The next chapter of this is posted on the other site because it doesn't have to be edited that much. Anyway, go check it out, but don't forget to review.

The scarlet clouds will cry
and Tears of blood shall fall from the heavens,
covering the earth with crimson seas.
The red sky will rule the world,
an evil tyrant in its wake.
From the shadows,
a black widow will be born.
