"Kagome," Sango said, looking up in a tree to the inu-miko, who was looking at the star filled night, the quarter moon illuminating the land.
"Yes?" Kagome didn't look at her friend.
"There is a hot spring around here, and I was wondering if you wanted to come with me?" the youkai hunter asked.
"No," was her emotionless answer. Kagome had been acting strange since she became a hanyou, Sango thought, but that was to be expected after what happened to her.
"Alright then," she said. "You know where I'll be."
"Sure," Kagome still didn't look at her. Sango shrugged and looked around. Shippou and Vilna were curled up in a ball together. Kari was sleeping in another tree near by, and Inuyasha and Mirkou were nowhere to be found. Sango sighed.

"This feels great," Sango said to her self. She closed her eyes and went under the water. She swam to the other side and when she lifted her head, she saw Miroku's back. "Hen-"
"No Sango," he sighed. His tone made her stop cold. "I was actually here for a while, thinking, that is, until you came."
"Is that so?" she asked skeptically. She had somewhat of a trust complex.
"Yes," he sounded so depressed. "It's really beautiful here, isn't it?" he asked. In the past few months, Miroku has been acting very different. Perhaps he knew the hole in his hand would soon devour him.
"Yes," she put a towel up to her. "It is very beautiful."
"I was just about to take a bath before you came," he told her, still looking in front of him.
"Miroku, are you all right?" she asked, she was becoming very afraid of his attitude.
"I'm fine, Sango," he sighed. "Would you mind if I took a bath?" he asked her.
"Alright."
"Really?!"
"As long as you don't look at me," she told him. As much as she didn't like the idea, she would do almost anything for him to get out of his mood.
"Are you just going to stand there and watch me undress?" he smiled hopefully, still not looking at her.
"Oh," she turned around and started walking away from the bank. Behind her, she heard him enter the water and stopped. Sango felt so horrible. She wanted to do some thing for him. For him to fell better and be back to his normal self. Then a thought came to mind. What if he was normally like that, depressed and wallowing in self-pity? She turned, but as soon as she did, strong arms wrapped around her. Out of reflex, she was going to yell at him. But stopped her self. The man if front of her was shaking and burying his face in her hair.
"Miroku." Was he actually crying? She let go of the towel and embraced him back, holding him tightly. There was nothing separating them, but bare flesh. She could care less though, Miroku never acted like that.
"What's wrong Miroku," she felt like crying her self.
"Sango I wish I could stay with you," he held her so tightly, as if letting go, he would lose her forever. Sango rubbed her hand up and down his back for comfort.
"What are you talking about," she was afraid.
"I have to go," he told her.
"No you don't," she said.
"The wind tunnel is going to consume me and every thing else around me," he said.
"We will defeat Naraku before that happens." Sango looked at his bear chest.
"No, I have to leave, I can feel it. If I don't leave, you will all die," his grip on her did not loosen. For once he didn't care if she was wearing anything. All he wanted was for her to stay that way forever.
"Kagome will put a spell on it," she reasoned with him.
"No Sango, that would only prolong the inevitable." She felt like crying.
"No," she finaly looked up at him angrily. He opened his eyes and she saw her mirrored pain, but ten fold. "Listen to me, you will not die, not now and not like that. You will stay here!"
"Sango?"
"Do you hear me?!"
"Why would you want me to stay here?" he asked, his eyes were so saddened.
"Because I …" the words stopped in her throat. "I don't want you to leave me!"
"I don't want to leave, but--"
"I love you!" she yelled with tears in her eyes. "That's why I don't want you to leave. I don't want to be alone. I don't--" she was cut off when his lips covered her mouth.
"Sango," he said breaking the kiss. "I wish I couldn't love you, but I'm going to die and a don't want to hurt you."
"It's too late," she sobbed in to his chest. They were both showing each other their untamed emotions, and they both didn't like showing others their emotions, let alone each other.
"Sango I--"
"No, I'm not leaving you. No matter if you go to hell or oblivion," she said, still holding him tightly. She told him her feelings, and she wasn't about to let him go, for no reason. "I have nothing else to care about in this life, but you."
"You would really die with me?" he asked in disbelief.
"With out at second thought," she told him. Miroku smiled, he had some one to care for and some one to care for him in return.
"I love you as well, Sango." She looked up at him. "I want you more then life it self. I would rather have one day with you then an eternally with out," his hand caressed her cheek as he just starred in her eyes.
"I want you too," she smiled and touched his hand.
In one quick motion, he picked her up by the hips and walked over to the edge of the spring. Without losing eye contact, he laid her down on the grown gently. His hand out lined her body and cupped her breast. He pressed his lips hard to her mouth. Sango moaned into his mouth as he kneaded her breast. His hand then made it's way to her neck then her chin. He looked at her while caressing her face with his thumb.
"Sango," he whispered. "Are you sure you want this? What if we don't kill Naraku in time?"
"Quiet," she gently put a finger over his mouth. "I want you. I want no regrets and no second thoughts," she smiled at him. Miroku smiled against her finger before she removed it.
"I love you Sango," he said before kissing her neck. She let out a sharp gasp as he sucked on her collarbone. His mouth made its way down to her chest, she shivered when he hit a nerve. Miroku smirked against her skin when he found a 'weak spot'. After leaving a bruise like mark, he continued giving her butterfly kisses on her stomach. He looked at her, as if asking to go any further. Though her eyes were closed and her head was leaning back, he took that as his answer. He started kissing her mouth again while spreading her legs apart. She sucked in air when his hand went to see if she was ready. He was still kissing her when he positioned himself between her. Before doing anything, he stopped and looked at her. In his delay, Sango opened her eyes to look at him.
"You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen," he told her with so much emotion. At that point she almost didn't care what he said, she just wanted him to continue. Though, she understood why he kept saying those things. There could very well be a chance that they wouldn't be able to do this again. She grabbed his head down and kissed him. He slowly went in her, she did feel pain, but with him kissing her, she could care less. He stopped kissing her to favor her neck. He pushed in her harder and was rewarded with a moan that escaped her. He did it again but faster and she almost screamed. He smirked and stopped kissing her all together. He went faster and harder while she arched her hips to compliment his every movement. He felt his release coming, as well as hers. He continued until they both yelled out and collapsed on each other. They had their eyes closed and were trying to regain constant breathing.
"I love you Miroku," Sango panted.
"I love you too," he said before lying next to her

Inuyasha sat in a tree, under the quarter moon. He carefully inspected his mother's book, afraid to look in it. Inuyasha felt sure it held the answers to all his questions. He'd be lying to himself if he said he didn't want to know what was written in it. Though, reading it would mean he'd have to change his whole aspect of life and come to terms with the past. He glanced at the book once more, before making up him mind. On the first page, there was a letter written to him.
<I>My dear Inuyasha,
You are reading this sometime after my death. Which means you have found the miko five hundred years into the future. How do I know this, you ask? My dear son, I write this as I watch you. He had been so deep in thought, thinking about what the letter from his mother meant, that he didn't even notice the screaming child until after Kagome said something. He looked closely at the girl and saw that it was Rin.

"Rin, Jaken," Sesshomaru stopped and looked around.
"Sesshomaru?" Rin asked her mate in confusion.
"Naraku is near," the inu-youkai said.
"What is he doing here?" Rin asked afraid. She got closer to Sesshomaru and put her arm around him. He didn't like showing open affection around others, especially around his nosy servant, so he just let his presence comfort her. For Rin, that was good enough.
"Stay here," he said to her and she let go.
"Jaken," he looked at his servant.
"Yes master?"
"Watch over Rin. If anything should happen to her, your death will be assured." With that said, he was off.
"Why do I always have to watch over the little wench," Jaken complained. He knew something was different between the two, he just didn't want to believe it.
"Jaken?" Rin said sitting on a small boulder.
"What is it?!" he said annoyed.
"Do you think Sesshomaru will be alright?" she asked.
"Why do you ask such a pointless question?!" he yelled. "And where is your respect?"
"I was just wondering," she said ignoring his second comment. "I just have a bad feeling, that's all."
"Stupid wench," Jaken mumbled under his breath, then he sat down across from her. That's when he saw it.
"What?" Rin asked nervously when she saw the look he was giving her.
"What the hell is THAT?!" the servant pointed the mark on her neck.
"What?" she unconsciously put her hand to her neck. Then she blushed at the remembrance. "Um … well…"
"That is none of your business," a voice from behind them said.
"Sesshomaru!" Rin yelled and ran up to him.
"Hold your tongue child," he said. That made Rin stop in her tracts. The inu youkai would never say that.
"Sesshomaru-sama?" Jaken also noticed something wrong with his master.
"Quiet!" he said and pulled out Tokijin in one quick motion the toad was cut in two.
"Jaken!" Rin ran to the servant. "Sesshomaru, what's wrong with you?!" she asked the inu youkai with tears in her eyes.
"Now, you will die miko wench," he said with the sword above his head. Rin yelled and moved out of the way, the evil sword landed only hairs away from her.
"Stop!" she yelled and put her hands in front of her. Blue energy came out from her hands and stopped the sword's attack and sent the youkai flying back.
"Damn bitch!" he yelled.
She yelled and started running away, tears streaming into the wind. She felt so betrayed by her mate. The youkai smirked as he watch the miko run away in fear of him, and he walked in the other direction.

"Rin, what's the matter?" Kagome asked the girl.
"It's Sesshomaru," she cried. She still couldn't believe it.
"Is there something wrong with him?" the inu miko asked. She noticed that there were many things different with the girl. That's when Inuyasha and Kari came.
"He … he killed Jaken then tried to come after me," she fell to her knees and sobbed in her hands.
"That can't be right," Kari said in thought. "No one would willingly kill their own mate." As soon as she finished her sentence, every thing became silent. Not even the night crickets could be heard.
"WHAT?!" Inuyasha laughed. "I would have never thought…" the hanyou was practically on the ground in tears.
"That's it, I see it now," Kagome said in surprise.
"What?" Rin looked up to her.
"Your miko powers must have been unconsciously hiding the fact that you were mated," Kagome said, still shocked. She wasn't that surprised that Rin and Sesshomaru were mated, it was expected. However, Rin being a miko, that was a whole different story in it self.
"Sesshomaru said I was a miko before her tried to …" she trailed off, still in denial.
"Now Rin," Kagome sat next to her. "Do you think Sesshomaru would really go after you and try to kill you?"
"No," she said honestly.
"Then it's settled, tomorrow we'll look for Sesshomaru," Kagome told her.
"We will do WHAT?!" Inuyasha asked, breaking out of his laughing fit. "We are NOT looking for that cold hearted bastard," he told them. The looks he was getting from all three women made him stop any further comments of his. "Keh," he sighed and folded his arms across his chest.
"In the mean time, why don't you get some sleep," Kagome said.
"Alright," Rin nodded, even though she knew she wasn't going to get much sleep anyway. Kagome walked her over to her sleeping bag where the two kits were.
"Here," Kagome pointed to the bed. Rin lay down and watched the stars above her. All she could think about was her mate and why he attacked her.
