Tears of Blood
Chapter Thirteen
-xXx
Sesshomaru walked through the forest in search of the evil Naraku. Deep down, he had a distinct feeling that he shouldn't have left his mate. His instincts told him that something bad was going to happen. Though, as proud and arrogant as he was, he never listened to his instincts. For if he did, things would be a whole lot different then they were now.
"Well, well," a voice broke him out of his thoughts. "If it isn't the inu youkai lord, Sesshomaru." He turned around to see a baboon pelt.
"Naraku," Sesshomaru said with absolute distaste.
"Now lord Sesshomaru," Naraku put emphases on the word 'lord'. "That isn't any way to talk to a friend," the youkai smirked.
"'Friend' you say?" he said emotionless. "You, Naraku, are a coward.”
"Am I?" Sesshomaru could almost hear the evil youkai laugh.
"That is nothing but a puppet," the inu hanyou gestured to the baboon pelt. He pulled out Tokijin with grace that only he could possess.
"That is true," the Naraku puppet said. "But before you destroy this vessel, I would like to ask you a question." Sesshomaru just looked at him without saying a word. "How gullible is your mate?" the evil youkai asked. Sesshomaru's eyes opened as wide as saucers. He knew he should have listened to his instincts.
"What have you done to Rin?!" The inu youkai said with more emotions then he intended to, but at that point, he didn't care.
"It's not what I have done, but what you have done," the puppet smirked under the pelt.
"I have had enough," Sesshomaru yelled and slashed the puppet in half. However, as soon as it was cut in two, white light surrounded him. The inu youkai lord flew back. He landed on the ground, unconscious.

Rin woke up with a sharp gasp. She sat up in a cold sweat and threw the blankets off her. She was surprised that she fell asleep at all in the first place. The mark on her neck was burning, something was happening to her mate. She looked at the horizon and saw the sun creeping through the violet sky. As she was looking at the sun rise, she felt another sharp pain in the neck. She let out a low yelp, trying not to wake the others. Though it was too late, Kari was already awake.
"Are you all right?" she asked.
"I'm … fine," Rin said.
"That's good," the inu hanyou said. Rin stood up to sit next to her, her hand still on her neck. She had never seen this hanyou before with Kagome's group. She wanted to know who she was.
"How old are you?" Kari asked suddenly, in her blunt fashion.
"I'm fourteen," the human said, still watching the sun rise.
"Um," Kari groaned. "That means I have an aunt who is younger than I am." Rin looked up at her, the pain in her neck all but forgotten for the moment.
"Aunt?!" the human was confused. "That means…"
"You're mate is my uncle," Kari nodded.
"But Inuyasha-sama…" Rin was beyond confused. Sesshomaru's half brother was too young to have a child her age. "You look too old to be his daughter?" Kari sighed, how many times was this explained so far? She had a feeling that she would have to explain it all again.
"Uncle Inu and Sesshomaru have a sister who is my mother," she told the human.
"Oh, Sesshomaru never told me he had a sister," Rin said. Actually, he never told her anything about his past. Then again, she never told him anything about her short past either. Maybe it was better that way, she thought, perhaps it wasn't.
"I seem to be getting that a lot lately," the hanyou sighed again.
"Ah," Rin gasped and put her hand to the mark again.
"Something must have happened to your mate," Kari said. Rin gave her niece a Sesshomaru-like look the clearly said, 'how observant'. Kari looked at the morning sun again. "It's time for everyone to wake up," she said and got to her feet.

"Where have you two been?" Kari smirked when she saw Sango and Miroku walking back to the camp. Sango slightly blushed, while Miroku simply grinned.
"Well, if you must know-" he was elbowed in the stomach before he was able to finish.
"Where's Kagome?" Sango asked.
"Don't know," Kari shrugged. "I can't find her or uncle Inu."
"Hello Rin-chan?" Miroku said when he saw the girl sitting up the bed. Sango looked over in surprise.
"Hello Miroku-sama," Rin attempted to smile.
"What are you doing here?" Sango asked. "And where is Sesshomaru?" Rin's face changed suddenly.
"I … I don't know," she said saddened.
"We're going to look for that sorry son of a bitch," Inuyasha said with arms crossed, coming out into the clearing.
"What?!" both Sango and Miroku said together.
"Where's Kagome?" he ignored the humans, he didn't feel like explaining it. So, he would just let Kagome do it.
"Right here," she said coming out of a different direction from the forest.
"Kagome," Sango looked at her friend. "Are we really going after Inuyasha's brother?" Kagome sighed.
"Yeah,"
"Why?"
"Something happened to Aunt Rin's mate," Kari said. The two humans turned they're heads sharply at the hanyou.
"Aunt?! Sesshomaru…" Sango was torn between laughing and disbelief.
"I didn't know Sesshomaru-sama liked them young," the monk said with a mock expression.
"Pervert," Sango sighed and elbowed him again. "So, we're looking for Sesshomaru? Sango asked and Kari nodded.
"Correct me if I'm wrong," Miroku started, dropping his lecherous smirk. "Wouldn't Sesshomaru-sama be looking for Rin," he asked. He noticed Rin become still. She still had her hand on the mark.
"Something, is wrong with Sesshomaru," Rin finally spoke.
"What's wrong with him?"
"I … I don't know, but something bad must have happened to him."
"All right then," Inuyasha spoke up. "Let's get this over with already," he said through clenched teeth. "Shippou, Vilna, let's go!" he yelled to the two, who were practically sleeping standing up.
"Right," said Shippou.
"Sorry Inuyasha-sama," Vilna apologized when they got up. They both jumped on his shoulder.
"Get the HELL off-" he didn't get to finish his sentence, for the kits were asleep, "-me," he sighed. Kagome smiled, Inuyasha was great with children, even if he didn't show it.
"Come on," she said to every one when they were packed. "Rin, lead the way," Kagome finished. Meanwhile, Inuyasha was mumbling obscenities under his breath about looking for his half brother. Usually, Sesshomaru was the one looking for him. Though, deep down, he did have a bad feeling about his brother.

Sesshomaru opened his eyes and noticed that it was midday. Every thing felt very wrong, something happened, and he couldn't remember what it was. Though, he did know that it felt as if he lost something very dear to him. He could just remember what it was. In fact, he couldn't really remember anything. He could remember his name. Though, he didn't know who he was, he didn't know anything about him self or any one else for that matter. He couldn't even remember his past. As he examined him self, he noticed that he only had one arm. He had two different swords; he had no idea what they were for or what they did. Though for some reason, he could remember their names. One was named Tokijin and the other was named Tensaiga [sp?]. He could remember names though, that was good, he thought.
He got up and looked around, in one direction he could smell blood. Curiosity got the better of him, he decided to go that way. As he was walking, he came across some kind of youkai. It looked as if it were cut in half. He examined the youkai closer and noticed that it was still alive, but barely.
"Sesshomaru-sama, why?" the thing said. His eyes opened wide, 'Sesshomaru' was his name. Perhaps he could get answers from this creature. The youkai did look familiar to him somehow.
"W-who are you?!" he asked.
"Mi' lord … u-use the Tensaiga … please!" the youkai begged.
"But wouldn't that kill you!?" Sesshomaru asked, concerned.
"… No, … it wouldn't … just use it!" the toad-looking thing said.
"All right then, if you say so. You probably know more then I do," Sesshomaru said and lifted the said sword into the air above his head. He saw little imps on or near the youkai. As he slashed the imps, a flash of light appeared. When the light settled down, the toad youkai was back together.
"Oh thank you Mi' lord!" he said. "Wait, you're the one who struck me in the first place!"
"I did?" he looked at the youkai. He was trying to think of this creature's name.
"Yes, you did," the toad said. He noticed that Sesshomaru had been acting very different over the past day.
"Ah, your name is Jaken," Sesshomaru said in triumph. Jaken just looked at the inu youkai. "I'm so glad I could remember names, if not nothing at all."
"Sesshomaru-sama, are you ill?" he asked.
"I can't remember anything," he explained.
"WHAT?!" the toad was surprised, though it did explain his lord's recent actions.
"You seem to know who I am, don't you?" Jaken sighed, he was going to need help, mainly from Rin.
"First, we must find your mate," he said, and then thought. "Perhaps she is with your brother."
"I have a mate? I have a brother?!" Sesshomaru asked surprised, he tried to think of names, but he couldn't. Maybe he had to look at things and recognize them.
"Yes, you do," the toad sighed again.
"All right then, lets go and find them. Maybe they know more about me," he said and started walking, then stopped. "Um, which way do we go?" he asked.
"Fallow me," Jaken said and gestured the inu youkai lord to follow after him. This was going to be a long day.
