2. Nothing special…

¤ Back at the camp… ¤

Kagome handed out the cups of instant noodles to her friends and she looked around.

- Where is Sango-chan? she asked unable to mask her worry.

- She said she was going to the river to clean up, she will be right back, said Inuyasha and sniffed the air discretely. Yes, the slayer would be back right about…… now! He was quite pleased with himself this morning. He had managed to caught the taijya off guard, an impressive stunt.

- Ahh, that feels so much better, sighed the smiling Sango and declaring her arrival back at the camp.

- Sango-chan, why did you not wait for me? scolded Kagome and frowned.

- I had a very odd dream and I felt like I needed to wash it off.

Shippou turned his head around and looked curiously at the hanyou. Why was Inuyasha growling? But as the little kitsune looked around, it seemed like no one else had heard the growling. Perhaps it was to low for them to hear? Or did he just imagined things?

- What was it about? wondered Kagome and gave Sango a cup of noodles.

- Nothing really, it was just a dream. Nothing special to cling on at all, said Sango with honey dripping voice. The little remark took ground…

- Keh!! snorted a certain hanyou.

Inuyasha rose to his feet and jumped into the tree again. "Nothing special huh? Just you wait my little koishii; I'll give you something that you never can forget." His golden eyes looked down on the demon slayer and by the way she shivered, she knew she was being watched.

- Where are we going today? asked the little kitsune and jumped into Kagome's lap, he was still a bit confused about Inuyasha's strange growling and the small grunts the hanyou made every now and then.

- Perhaps we should head up north; we only have smaller shards to collect since Naraku is defeated. And of course we have to convince Kouga to give up his two shards too, said Kagome and patted the red hair on Shippou's head, she could sense some form of insecurity within the young fox and she wanted to comfort him like the mother she was to him.

- Do you feel the presence of any shards? asked Miroku and gulped down the last of the instant noodles. "This futuristic food is terrific."

- No, but my instincts tells me that we should go north; we have not travelled around much up there.

Inuyasha listened with half an ear on their little conversation. He really tried to catch on their small talk, he really did but still his attention was glued on Sango, how she moved around to find a better place to sit, the way she brushed her long black hair from her face, everything about Sango was his priority now. "So she wants to play a game. Well, it is always fun with a little game. I play along my little koishii…" He watched as she rose to stand on her feet. Her rounded ass made his water mouth with lust and need. He readjusted his baggy pants to conceal his obvious arousal.

- Inuyasha, what do you think? asked Miroku and looked up to where the hanyou was sitting.

- What?! snapped the hanyou angrily.

- Inuyasha, what the hell is wrong with you?

- Nothing… Inuyasha managed to keep his blush down. His concentration had slipped and he could only think about how good it would feel to grab her soft behind and push her strong body into his own.

- You are acting weird, said the little kitsune and received a death glare from the hanyou. Shippou curled into the warm embrace of his surrogate mother.

- Come on, we are wasting time here, snarled Inuyasha and jumped gracefully down to the earth again.

They packed their things and they were soon on the road again.

As usual Inuyasha took the lead, but this time it was more for his own sake than for the safety of the pack. He could not stand to see the swaying hips of Sango, not without getting himself hard as a rock. A twitch in his lower area made it clear that it was already too late for that. He was hard just thinking about her. "Bitch, I will have you by the end of the week." He thought and let out a small snarling sound.

Kagome babbled on about her school and the tests she had to take next week. Sango tried to listen, she really did. But ever so often she found her self looking at the grumpy hanyou.
"Why is he acting like this, why is he doing this to me?" she asked her self over and over. But she could not come up with a good answer. She knew he was angry about her saying it was nothing special. She shivered a bit, would he punish her for that?

- Sango-chan, are you listening to me? scolded Kagome.

- Uhh, sorry Kagome-chan, I was spacing out, mumbled a red faced Sango.

- What did you think about?

- The dream, it was really odd you know. Even though I hardly remember it, it has me thinking.

Shippou heard the hanyou growl again and he frowned. What the hell was wrong with their hanyou friend? Kagome patted Sango's back in a comforting manner.

Inuyasha heard her and he wanted to scoop her up and dash of into the forest. "Hardly remembers it? Sango, you are sooo going to get it." He jumped ahead a bit, sniffing the air. He was trying to get the others to think he was scouting the area for any kind of youkais.

Kagome and Miroku looked confused and were wondering the same thing. Inuyasha was definitively up to something, but what? And Sango seemed to be in her own little world of dreams, which also was confusing, the taijya always were on the look out for demons.

¤ A few hours later….¤

Kagome decided it was time to take a break. She had not been able to sense any shards and she was beginning to tire. She thought about the tests next week and the odd behaviour of both Inuyasha and Sango was not making her feel any better. Perhaps they should camp here for the night. It was a good spot and Shippou said he could smell a hotspring nearby.

- Why do we not camp here for the night? It seems that we all could use a good night sleep, said Kagome and sat down on a log.

- A good idea Kagome-sama, said Miroku and sat down next to her.

- Watch it Miroku-sama, she warned and gave him a hard glare.

With a smile, worthy of a saint, Miroku moved a bit, not wanting to get smacked. His dark blue eyes moved to rest on Sango for a moment. She looked around and she bit her lip. She was nervous about something, very nervous, but what had put her in such a state? Sango was not the person who was afraid of many things. And when she fought she could be quite scary. He shuddered when he remembered how she had tried to defeat the ghost of a bear youkai once. Her strength was admirable.

Inuyasha came back and surprised everybody by not shouting about them being lazy. He just found himself a wide tree-branch and settled down. He looked under his bangs at Sango, and he smiled invisibly. "Just you wait until the others is asleep my little Sango, then I will give you the next gift. And I will be able to taste you once again."

Sango shuddered as she felt his golden eyes rest on her again. What ever he was up to she did not like it. "But you liked his kiss did you not?" a small voice in her head teased her. No, no… Sango shook her head and rolled out her sleeping bag and crawled inside it. All she needed was sleep, nothing else. Tomorrow everything should be back to normal, she was sure of it… wasn't she?
