Sorry for the delay in up dates. Moving took forever. I finally got back to my fic. But with a new school and everything I have much more homework than I’m use to and I’m still catching up. I’m working on a memoir for my Creative Writing class and I need to finish it ASAP so I might not get back to this for a while. I hope this chapter can hold you over till them. Please R&R.

Simple and Clean

The more they ran the more there was to see. The grass was a wondrous color of green. There were trees of all kinds. Kagome enjoyed the willow trees the most. Some were in bloom with little pink flowers and when the breeze would pick up a bit it looked as nymph’s hair would be imagined. It truly was a moving piece of art.
The closer they came the more of a view you could get of the ocean. The sea lay just beyond the Dog Demon Palace. The beaches were a sparkling white and the waves were calm. Birds circled over head and danced upon the water’s surface.
With the colorful scents and scenery all around her, Kagome couldn’t think why Inuyasha would hate a place so much. Even the forest they were traveling in yesterday had been unmistakably beautiful.
They neared the entrance gates and Ronin had taken a lead with Inuyasha close at his heals. They reached the gates and they opened almost magically at their appearance. They never stopped running, but Kagome saw everything. The marble floors and walls. The ceilings with huge glass chandlers that sparkled off every wall. This defiantly was no regular dendou; even in the modern area this would be amazing.
They came to what looked like the center of the castle and stopped. It was square and had a rounded stair case leading to the next level and so on up. There were many different doors all around. You could never tell what lead were because the doors all looked alike.
But soon they heard an angry growl from beyond some corner in the palace and now knew that the place was in fact actually habituated. Soon you could hear the voice clearly and Inuyasha stiffened putting himself protectively around Kagome; bringing her off of his back.
‘Koga.’ Kagome knew immediately. She heard a low growl come from deep inside of her hanyou. She tied to comfort him by putting a hand on his chest and looked into his eyes with a plea. He looked at her and eased a little, though his hold was still tight.
‘Nothing’s happening to Kagome; I wont let that mangy wolf get his disgusting sent of his all over her.’ Inuyasha though.
Soon Koga game running down the second floor hall and stopped at the balcony.
“Oi! Dog tard what have you done with my women? You’re soiling her floral scent!!” Koga yelled down at him.
“Oi! Mangy wolf what the hell are you doing here at Sesshomaru’s looking for me? Didn’t you know, he hate your guts too!” Inuyasha yelled back childishly
“I’d beg to differ. It seems like you’re the one he hates more.” Koga said while folding his arms and turning his head in a different direction as a child might do. Inuyasha didn’t let that get to him. He didn’t care much for Sesshomaru either. So it was a mutual feeling. Though at the moment he hated the wolf more than Sesshomaru.
Not far behind the wolf leader came Sesshomaru and an old looking Demon who Kagome could only guess could be Ayame’s Grandfather, the Wolf leader of the North. Sesshomaru kept the same mask like emotion while the other demon had a look of disappointment and hope.
“Inuyasha.” Sesshomaru acknowledged.
“Sesshomaru.” replied Inuyasha with a hit of annoyance in his voice.
“Koga.” The old wolf demon said. Koga Looked his way.
“Yes?”
“Will you come with me.” it was not a question the old demon has asked and Koga knew it. He immediately turned to leave with him. They walked down a hall to the left of the group.
“Inu-Yasha…Kagome. You will come with me.” Sesshomaru said as he turned around to leave down the hall he had just come from. Inuyasha and Kagome were taken back at Sesshomaru calling Kagome by named but walked up the winding staircase and fallowed him down the hall none the less.
They walked down the hall for two minutes till they came to a door unlike the others they had seen yet in the palace. This door was a full wooden door that would have been found back in Kagome’s time. It had a knob though not round but in the shape of a moon and did not slide like would have been normal for this era. Sesshomaru had opened the door and walked in. Inuyasha and Kagome fallowed in suit.
“Close and lock the door behind you.” Sesshomaru ordered. Inuyasha did so after Kagome made her way through the door way. They made their way across the room to were Sesshomaru had stopped.
“Please take a seat.” Sesshomaru said not turning to face them. They both sat on one of the cushions in front of the table that sat in the middle of the room. There was silence for a moment before Sesshomaru turned around to face them. He looked at Kagome and then to Inuyasha.
“You’ve mated the Minko.” He said looking at Inuyasha. The same mask still in place. Kagome looked nervously at Inuyasha. She knew that she had his sent on her but she never though that it could bring trouble. Inuyasha didn’t return her look. He kept his glance on Sesshomaru.
“Yes.” came Inuyasha’s simple reply. Sesshomaru nodded once at him.
“The wolf tribe is having a hard time with all the marriage binds. Koga was promised to Ayame but claims Kagome. But he has not matted her.” Sesshomaru began to explain. “I could not seek you out myself because I was having too many diplomatic matters to attend to. I sent Ronin after you and Kagome’s sent. It appears that he has found you.”
“Appears so.” Inuyasha said blankly.
“I had suspected you had mated the Minko. Though why this human is so praised my daemons is questionable to me. I’m surprised she even matted with you.” Inuyasha growled at Sesshomaru though not baring any fangs.
“Inuyasha’s a good person Sesshomaru.” Kagome defended politely. He looked at her though there was no sharpness in his eyes like she had expected.
“What ever the reason, I still had this whole issue brought to me because you, no matter how much we would rather not admit it ,are related.” Sesshomaru said turning his attention back to Inuyasha. “The wolf tribe actually thought that I was in charge of what goes on in your life. So they came to me to settle there petty problems. Koga had not believed me when I told him that you had matted Kagome. Though if you hadn’t he still had no claim to her.”
“Ayame had told me that he had promised to mate her when she was of age.” Kagome said.
“That was the issue.” Sesshomaru said. “The Elder of the North Tribe knew of Koga’s promise. One reason they came was because the Elder was Father’s ally. The West and the North have been allies for centuries and have helped one another through out history. He came to me on part of the allegiance.”
“Have things been settled yet?” Kagome asked hopefully.
“No, they are on their way because of your coming but we need to make it clear that you two are matted.” Sesshomaru’s mask was slowly dissipating. “The issue will be cleared up within the week. But for the remainder of the time you must stay here.” Sesshomaru told them. “You will stay in one of the guest rooms.”
The ever cranky Inuyasha was starting to get annoyed. “Why must we stay?” He questioned. “And how in the hell does it take a week to sort this crap out?”
“We need all the paper work to be filed and signed. You two must help with this.” Sesshomaru said with authority. He turned his attention back to Kagome. “Everything you’ll need will be taken care of.” then to both of them. “You have the guest room with the spring in the back. In the East wing. Dinner will be held in the dinning hall at sunset.” Inuyasha nodded understanding exactly were to go and what was expected of his stay. He stood up and headed back toward the door. “Common Kagome.” he said behind him. She stood never taking her gaze off the Daemon Lord. “Thank you for you’re hospitality Sesshomaru-sama.” Kagome said with a bow. It was the first time she had addressed him so formally and the Daemon Lord was surprised at her actions. She then turned and left out the door Inuyasha held open for her.

The door Inuyasha lead Kagome to was the original sliding door but there was a beautiful painting of organic flowers that stretched across the entire cloth of the door. Inuyasha opened the door to a grand room. There was a window that over looked the gardens, the mountains right behind the colorful plants and the ocean over to the right. It was a beautiful view. There was a closet that contained extra cloths for guests to the left. Though they were just extras they were still very formal and very beautiful. On the right was another shajori door than lead to the bathing rooms. In the middle of the room lay a very plushy looking futon. It had many silk blankets and pillows on top of it. The floors were of course wood, but they were polished to the finest. There were little tables that lay around. The walls were decorated with many unique calligraphy paintings. The room had different assortment of flowers that gave the room a sweet smell.
Kagome’s mouth almost dropped at the sight of the room. Everything she would have needed was all in this room. She loved it and walked further inside to explore it. She went around to the window to get a better view and then to smell the flowers around her. When she looked up she noticed that Inuyasha hadn’t moved as much as a centimeter since opening the door.
“Inuyasha?” she questioned him with a wired look. He just stood there staring at her and the room. “What’s wrong?” He shook his head.
“Nothing. I’m fine.”
“You sure?”
“Hai. I’m ok.” Kagome didn’t believe him but he just shrugged it off.

“Isn’t this room beautiful?” Kagome asked.
“Yes. It is.” Inuyasha replied. He turned his attention to their attire. Dinner was going to be soon. “Kagome?” She looked his way. “Do you want to wash up before dinner?” he asked her.
“That sounds great Inu.” she smiled.
“Here take your stuff and go to through the door on the right. That’s the bathing room. And don’t worry no one else is there.” he said handing Kagome her bag which she took off earlier.
“Aren’t you coming?” Kagome questioned.
“I’ll go after you. I’m just going to find something for you to wear to dinner. I’ll have Haya come and help you with things.” he replied. Kagome was a little worried about him, but she decided to let it go.
“Well…ok I guess if that’s what you’d like to do.” she said with a hint of concern in her voice.
“Go take your bath Kagome. Don’t worry. Haya will look after you.” he said. She nodded and left through the door.

------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------------------------

She entered a big room. The first thing she saw was the closet. She set her bag down and undid he straps. She took out her bathing supplies and set them down next to her. She then picked them up and walked around the corner to the hot spring that had been built around to be in the palace. At the edge she set down her body wash and hair shampoo and conditioner along with her scrubby. She then went back to the closet and stripped herself of her cloths and laid them neatly on a wooden block. She grabbed some towels from a shelf above her. And walked back to the spring. She set the towels down on a dry table next to the edge of the pool. She stepped into the steaming water and walked through the water till she came to a deep enough spot where she could submerge her whole body into the relaxing water.
Once she was done soaking in the water she went back for her shampoo, conditioner, and body wash with scrubby. She let the conditioner, body wash and scrubby float in the waster as she took the bottle of shampoo and squirt some into the palm of her hand. She closed the bottle and let it float as well in the water was she rubbed her hands together and spread the soap evenly into her hair. She swept the suds out of her eyes and worked her hair up into a kind of bun where she let the soap soak for a minute before she dunked her head back into the water to rinse the suds out. She did the same procedure with the conditioner but left it to soak into her hair longer to make her hair smooth. She washed her body with her scrubby that contained the sweet pea and papaya scented body wash. Once rinsing herself off and making extra sure all of the suds where out of her hair to make sure she wouldn’t have any dandruff she went closer to the edge were she could sit and enjoy the water once more.
Kagome heard some foot steps behind her and got a bit self-conscious. She quickly submerged as much of her body into the water to cover herself.
“Who’s there?” she basically demanded with a hint of fear in her voice.
“Do not worry young Minko. I wish you no harm.” came an angelic voice. Soon Kagome could see who the voice belonged to. It was a demon. A beautiful demon. She was wearing a simple kimono. It was slit on both sides up to her thigh and had no sleeves. She wore some pants underneath. The dress crosses at her chest and a simple obi was tied at her waist to secure it. The dress was a burgundy with a hint of more red than usual and it was a perfect contrast to her gold sparkly skin. The pants and obi were black.
She had think black eyebrows, but even though they were think they were in a perfect angle. She had a very sharp noise and chin. Her eyes though a swirling ocean of emerald green were more defined in pointed angles unlike Kagome’s more rounded almond eyes. Her lips looked almost small compared to the rest of her features, but even though they were small they were perfect with a seducing pout. She wore two heavy golden colored bracelets on her wrists. Her sharp nails were also the same shade burgundy as her dress. She had a silky gold loins tale and heavenly grey wings. Her shiny grey hair was done up in a messy bun with one beaded chop stick with a messy array of nicely curled bangs hanging just above her eyebrows. Her ears were pointed with some coin earrings adorning them. Needless to say Kagome was speechless at the women’s beauty.
The demon walked, more like glided, towards Kagome. She then sat down neatly at the edge of the spring. “Are you about done?” She asked Kagome.
“Umm…I guess so.” Kagome stammered.
“Good. Inuyasha-sama had asked me to help you get ready for dinner.” she told Kagome. “I brought some of my famous face remedy. Would you like to try it? It make your face so much smoother and defined.” she prompted with cheerful childness in her voice. It was hard for Kagome to feel uncomfortable around her with all the childness she has in her. Kagome herself almost was excited to try it as the Demon was to try it on her.
“Sure.” Kagome said with some more enthusiasm than before.
“Good now come on outta there and wrap yourself in some towels.” She instructed Kagome. She did so and waited for the demon to come back. It was only a few minutes that Kagome would sit there before the demon came back with all of her supplies. She set down a bowl of some green mesh and some bottles of oils, and some more bottles with unknown contents and an elaborately decorated box.
“Now let’s get your hair up into a towel, and then begin.” the demon said with a smile. She didn’t wait for Kagome’s reply but quickly took a towel and rapped it around her head. She then took a pint brush and dipped it into the green mesh and spread it around Kagome’s face. Once down clowning Kagome’s face in green she let it sit.
“Now all we have to do is wait for a few minutes and it should harden on to your face and then I’ll take it off and then put some of this cream on your face to make it glisten and become smoother.”
Kagome watched the demon as she mixed the cream with some of her scented oils. It was then that Kagome noticed that she didn’t know the demon’s name. She felt so embarrassed to not have even though about it before.
“What’s your name?” Kagome asked. The demon turned around to face Kagome.
“Haya.” she said with a smile.
“Nice to meet you Haya. Sorry about forgetting to ask before.” Kagome said shyly.
“No, it’s not your fault. I should have mentioned my name earlier. But I kindda forgot. I guess I was too into getting you ready that I forgot. So I’m sorry.” Haya said with a smile, her eyes lighting up. “Now what do you say to a manicure while we wait to work on that face?” Haya said with more enthusiasm.
“Ok?” Kagome said worried about what the manicure would be like in this era.
Haya grabbed one of the bottles Kagome couldn’t identify before and she shook the bottle a bit then set it down taking one of Kagome’s hands.
“You have nice hands. Well kept up. Good this’ll be easier than I though!” Haya said mainly to her self. She opened the little bottle and then brushed on a natural pink shade onto Kagome’s fingers. Haya then repeated the same procedure for the other hand. By the time the nails had dried so had her mask. Haya took liberty of scrubbing the hardened mesh off Kagome’s face and then dapping some more water on her face to it wasn’t to tough anymore. She then took two finger tips and placed them into the cream. She spread little circles on Kagome’s face until the cream was worked into her whole face. Haya did this with a smile on her face the whole time. The sweet scent of vanilla started to make Kagome drift into a nap. The actions of Haya’s finger tips working the wonderful scented cream into her skin so carefully was like a lullaby. It was when Kagome realized that Haya had stopped rubbing the cream into her skin and heard the noise of something that she opened her eyes again. She saw that Haya was opening the box and that there were drawers to the medium sized box.
“Ok close your eyes.” Haya instructed. Kagome listened and felt a soft brush outlining the tops of each of her eyes. She didn’t open then yet and felt some other brush dusting gently across the rest of her eye lids.
“OK you can open you eyes now.” Haya said. She then kept onto her little task and dipped an unused brush into a little bowl. She took the brush with some pink tinted stuff and applied it to Kagome’s lips. The brush tickled a bit and Kagome let out a few giggles. Haya laughed at her and then took a puff and dabbed it on her face.
“There. Now time for your hair.” Haya said while grabbing a wooden comb from the box. Haya undid the towel that trapped Kagome’s hair and sat behind her. She started at the bottom of her hair for any small tangles then she took a small hand full at a time and combed through each part toughly. In no time Kagome’s hair was a bundle of silk that rested down to the small of her back. All of her hair was straight including her usually messy bangs which were currently combed to the side and fastened neatly with a small clip.
“It looks beautiful.” Haya told her. “I know you might not be use to it, but it does look so lovely.” It was ironic that she told her this only because she never once handed her a mirror to see herself in. “Now we must get you dressed! It’s almost dinner time!” Haya said urgently. She grabbed Kagome by her wrist and started back to her room. Kagome still in a towel. They never stopped to even grab her things but Kagome didn’t think much about it. Haya slid back the door and left Kagome standing near the door.
“Ah! Beautiful!” Haya said. “OK time to get you dressed.” She said turning to Kagome.
“Just a minute I need to get some panties from my bag I’ll be right back.” Kagome said turning into the bathing room again. She kneeled down to her bag and took out a pair of panties and a bra. She quickly put them on, taking off the towel for a moment to strap on the bra. Then retied the towel safely around her and went back to her room. “OK I’m all done with that.” She told Haya.
“Good. Now take off the towel and let’s get you dressed!” Haya said. Kagome smiled and took off the towel and went to over to Haya who had a silk dress opened at the bottom. Kagome went over to her and Lifted her arms into the air to place her hands through the sleeves, then the rest of the dress slipped over her head and down to cover her whole body. The Simple dress was a navy blue and was a very comfortable fabric, like satin. It had a simple rounded neck line and wasn’t decorated at all, just a plain navy blue dress with long flaring sleeves. Kagome looked at it quizzically. Then looked to Haya. She already had, what seemed to be, another dress on her hands folded in her hands like before. Kagome held the ends of her sleeve and lifted her arms in the air again. She found the hole for each arm and then The rest slid over her head and down as before. This fabric was a wintry blue. There were designs of small organic flowers that were embroidered in a lighter version of the blue it was on and it covered the whole fabric. The neck was meant to be a close collar neck that would have one piece of the fabric under the other and would be secured by three silver buttons. Haya brought Kagome a mirror to see herself in. The dress she wore had no sleeves on the top layer but the navy blue fabric sleeves looked good next to the fabric. There were slits up to Kagome’s lower thighs on either side and you could see the navy fabric there as well as at the bottom because the top layer was also shorter than the bottom layer. It looked amazing and it was very easy to wear.
Kagome was so caught up in the dress that she hadn’t noticed the change in herself. She was speechless when she looked upon her face. Her blue eyes were highlighted by the black liner and the light sparkly blue shadow on her lids. Her lips were more pouty due to the shiny pink tint that was there. Her face even sparkled. It was a small shine to it but it was beautiful. She almost didn’t recon nose the girl looking back at her in the mirror. The neatness of her now silky straight hair added to the unbelievable miracle of everything.
“Like it?!” Haya said smiling while sticking her head into the mirror. Her emerald eyes were bright with laughter.
“H-hai.” Kagome stammered. “It’s beautiful. Thank you so much Haya.” she said turning around to hug Haya.
“Good!” Haya said with a huge smile on her face. “Now it’s time for dinner.” She said ushering Kagome out of her room and down to the dinning hall.
