Chapter 2

Interlude

The next few days felt very awkward without Kouga picking on me or asking me to do his homework. I guess he really did go easy on me, but Sesshomaru didn't.

At Home

Sesshomaru having a weak spot on me would hit my cast with a steel bat when he felt bored. I would scream in pain but he had my mouth duck taped. He then left and Kagura came over to check on me.

"Hey! How you doing hero?" she asked sprightly.

"Ohhh I am doing better. Thanks for asking, Kagura" I said timidly.

"What's wrong you seem down? You can tell me anything ya know? I am your friend Inuyasha, and I always will be." She said with a look of great concern."Kagura, ummmm I think the band needs to practice. I don't want my injury to stop our dream of becoming a heavy metal band." I lied. "Oh sure Inu we can start as soon as possible. Do you think you can sing ok?" She said pulling Cheetos from her back-pack. "Yah I should be fine, not like my voice has a cast." I said stealing her Cheetos. She smacked my hand playfully and noticed several bruises on my arm. "Oh my god! Are those self-inflicted??" She asked staring at them closely. "No ummm Sess did it, but please I don't want to think about it now! Can you get Miroku and Shippo over here soon?" I said trying to get away from the subject. "Inuyasha you can't let him treat you like this. You got to fight back!" Kagura said becoming very emotional. "Kagura, I am so glad to have a friend like you, but I will handle my problems my way, ok?" I said softly. "I just don't like to see you like this." she almost did something I had never seen her do but stopped herself and looked at me. " Ok I will go get Miroku and Shippo then seeing as how that's what you want and I will drop the subject." I smiled at her and thanked her.

I waited for a good hour for Miroku and Shippo to arrive with the instruments. Shippo's Mom had driven them and his dad helped unload the truck. I felt very left out not being able to help, but it was funny to be able to sit and watch them. I laughed watching Shippo drop the microphone onto the hard floor. Nothing was damaged, considering that I was the strongest even with my dorky complexion. I just didn't like to show people how strong I am because then they challenge me and they get really busted up. One boy I sent to the hospital, that boy was a son of the Triad member who had my dad killed. It was all my fault so I never fought again. I grabbed my crutch and hobbled in front of it when we were ready. I planned not to start off with one of our songs and motioned for Kagura to come to me for a second as a big crowd formed in front of my garage. "Lets start off with Seek and Destroy, ok?" I told her. She nodded and told Miroku and Shippo. Kagura took her pick and made a violent hiss that only the devil herself could have made. Kagura was the best guitarist I had ever heard. Shippo let out a mighty roar with his drums and then Miroku just let loose. Then I gave the signal. " Alright!" I yelled. Miroku let off his bass. "Skin in the scene in the city tonight! We're looking for you to start up a fight. There is an evil feeling in our brains, you know its nothing new it just drives us insane. Running, there will be no hiding you will be dieing 1,000 deaths! Searching Seek and destroy!!!!!!!" Kagura let off a mean solo on her guitar. " There is no escape that's for sure. This is the end we wont take anymore! Searching Seek and destroy!!!!!!!" She said loudly into her back up mic. Then Shippo let out a solo leading up to Miroku joining him and Kagura letting out a difficult solo. Then going back the original rift. We continued on for a solid 5 minutes then decided to go to a different song. "Hmmm another Metallica song or what?" I asked. "Sure, then we go to a Disturbed song ok?" Miroku stated. "Ok then 1-2-1-2-3-4!" Kagura yelled. We just followed her lead. She squealed her guitar and Shippo followed her. She let out one of the hardest solos ever and then I yelled. " Welcome to where time stands still no one leaves and no one will. Moon is full but it seems the same when labeled mentally deranged. Dream the same thing every night. I see our freedom in our sight. Sanitarium! Leave me be!!! Sanitarium! Just leave me alone." Kagura and Miroku both made out a mighty howl with their guitars. We finished the song and did Miroku's song. They went home but I was still alone with Sesshomaru.

I was laying in bed hoping Sesshomaru was asleep so he wouldn't be hitting me more. I then heard tapping on my glass window. It was about 2 o'clock in the morning. I opened it and it was Kagura and her friend Rin. I clasped my mouth looking at them. I whispered, "What are you doing here??? Oh I am gonna be in so much trouble if they catch you!" Kagura smiled and spoke ,"Then lets not get caught. You worry too much ya' know?" Rin giggled. "We came to check on you to see if your bro hadn't busted you up too bad. I was worried and Rin can even tell you all I talked about was how worried I was about you. So we got all black clothes and were like cats all the way over." Kagura explained. "Basically my cousin drove us here." Rin translated quietly. "Well why didn't you at least tell me earlier you would pull something like this? I was about to came swinging with a baseball bat at both of you!" I said as calm as possible. Rin was a Freshman just like Shippo and was also his girlfriend. They had been going out for a good while now, but her father did not approve of Shippo. Needless to say Shippo and her father didn't see eye-to-eye. Her mother really enjoyed him though and tried to convince Rin's father to accept him, but to no avail. She left Rin and her father a couple months ago leaving Rin alone to his mentally abusive behavior. "So Rin how is your mother doing in America?" I asked trying to keep attention away from myself. " Oh she is doing fine. She landed a job as a Secretary for a record company in California. You guys have a band, right?" she asked. "Yeah but Inuyasha here hasn't shown us his new song yet. I am beginning to think he hasn't had it done." Kagura jabbed. " I have been working on this song for a good while so lay off. You guys will see it soon enough. Oh did you guys catch that anime called FLCL? That was completely awesome!" I said trying to yet again change the direction of the conversation. " Hmm I think you want to be hit in the head with a guitar by a hot chick on a moped is all. Hey Kagura you play guitar don't ya'?" Rin asked with a twinkle in her eye. Kagura's face turned a bit red which almost never happened and she hit Rin in the arm. I put my hand over her mouth to keep her from yelling. Rin then did what a 2 year old would have and licked my hand. I slung it getting the saliva off. I flicked her nose roughly and she winced in surprise. Kagura thought they should leave and both said goodbye and hugged me. I sighed and went to bed as they left.

It was my first day back after being in the hospital and I knew I didn't have much work because Miroku had given it to me. I put on y glasses and crutched my way into the school. I went to homeroom in Mr. Kurushi's room, he was Sango's brother. He greeted me with his usual smile but looked at my cast. " Ahhh scars of the fallen, well if it helps old Kaede thinks more highly of you now. Kagome was her granddaughter if you didn't know. So you are in her good books, as well as everyone else's for saving the cheerleading captain. Oh and the football coach wants to see you." I nodded from this information knowing life may get a little easier for me. " Well thanks Kohaku, but I just want this itchy cast off!!!!!" I said scratching at it. "How long you gotta wear it?" he asked. "Oh a couple days. Doctor says I am lucky that it was too busted up. He says its just a sprain and will be able to come off any day now." I said lowly. "Well the coach will be pleased. He wants you on the football team after hearing how fast and strong you were to outrun a bus!" I smiled fully knowing that life WAS going to get better. "Oh and talent show is today so you guys need to rock this place! Its been rather boring without you." said a familiar voice. It belonged to my friend Myoga. Myoga and I have been friends since we were very young. He was also the reason I fought the boy who ended up in the hospital. The boy was picking on Myoga and I came to help him. The boy pulled out a gun he got from his house and shot Myoga in the back making him paralyzed from the waist down. So as you may or may not have guessed he was in a wheelchair. "Yah well now I know what you must feel almost everyday. Wheelchairs are very uncomfortable!" I said making him laugh. " We will have to see though, I heard you guys were trying to destroy your house with all the noise you were making yesterday!" He said slyly. The bell rang and I headed to the auditorium for me and my friends to practice for the talent show. Good thing about it all was we got out of class and everyone was anticipating our performance. I sat down in a chair and watched Sango check off all the participants. Kagura was in the corner doing what she always did, meditating. I pulled over Shippo and Miroku. "Tell Kagura, lets make this talent show one to remember" I said with a bit of mischief in my eye.

SORRY GUYS BUT THAT'S ALL FOR CHAPTER 2 CHAPTER 3 IS GONNA TAKE AWHILE. AND SORRY THAT THERE WASN'T MUCH KAGOME AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED EITHER. TRUST ME ALL DIE HARD FANS THERE WILL BE A LOT HAPPENING IN THE NEXT CHAPTER!!!
