DISCLAIMER: NOPE I don't own it and you know that! -_-

AN: So many ideas…its really hard to keep to just one story…oh well. I was inspired to write this story after I read this book called The Coldest Winter Ever by. Sister Souljah, and if any one's ever read that book you'll find a couple of similarities, but not much! It is my own plot!! Also this story will be basically in Kagome's POV (Point Of View) Well hope you like it!

Summary: Kagome is the daughter of Sanoske Higurashi, the biggest drug lord in Tokyo, so of course she gets everything she wants, but the one thing she wants most, she can't have, Daddy's right hand man, Inuyasha Takashi.

That's Just The Way It Is

Chapter 1

Daddy's Little Princess

<><><><><><><><> <><><>

The music blasted as sweaty bodies danced to its rhythms, almost everyone grinding into each other. I loved the party scene, this was what I lived for and no one, I mean no one was going to ruin it for me, not even daddy's little lackeys, who I knew by now were probably stationed at every possible entrance, even the little hole where rats came in was being guarded.

I rolled my eyes. I didn't need to think about that right now, especially not when I had a fine ass guy grinding behind me. He pulled me closer as the dance sped up and I felt kind of disappointed when our bodies didn't fit together. It's weird but every guy I ever went with or danced with, every time he would hug me either from the back or front, our bodies just didn't mold together. Yeah I know, what the hell am I talking about? I guess that just the way I am. I laugh at my stupid thoughts, but laugh is cut short when I feel a tug on my arm. I look up into the person's face and gasp.

"What are you doing here?!" I hiss loud enough for him to hear over the music. His glare isn't even on me but the person behind me. I look to see the guy with a scared as all hell face. He then looks to me and his eyes widen in realization.

"Oh shit your Higurashi's daughter!! Oh god…" He yells before running off into the crowd. I sigh at my stupid reputation and turn back to the stupid man who had to ruin my fun.

"Thanks a lot!" I yell into his face and yank my arm from his warm grasp. I walk as fast I as I can away from him, bumping into everyone in front of me. I angry and not just because HE came but because he touched me and it made me have goose bumps all over. 'Damn him' I thought and quickly got to the entrance. Outside, as I figured, stood at least 10 huge man in black suits, all of them talking to each other, once they spotted me they quickly shut up and one of them started to talk on a cell. I rolled my eyes and waited as a black Lexus Town car pulled up in front of me. One of the body guards standing there quickly opened the door for me and I got in without hesitation. I thought the minute the door closed we'd be out of here but I guess not, as the driver didn't move the car.

Then suddenly the door I was sitting next to, swung open and in came the stupid bastard that ruined my fun. I moved over to the other side as he got comfortable and closed the door, then the driver pulled off. We didn't say anything for most of the ride, and I couldn't take it.

"Why did daddy have to send you?" I spit out, though inside I was glad to see him this close.

"That's a stupid question." He responded not even sparing me a glance. I folded my arms across my chest, I always did that when I couldn't come with a smart comeback.

"Geez why do they always have to flee like that." I said to myself, referring to the guy at the club.

"Could it be because your a Higurashi." He stated as if I were stupid. I sighed for billionth time, I had forgotten about Inuyasha's cute little doggy ears that could hear things from like 50 miles away, maybe even more.

"Wow thanks for reminding me. I'm Kagome Higurashi, daughter of Sanoske Higurashi the almighty drug lord that practically owns Tokyo and threatens anyone who even thinks of glancing my way!" I shouted, man did Inuyasha make me angry sometimes. We were quiet for a while more after that and yet again I got aggravated.

"I can't believe him!" I blurted out. "When will he ever trust me?"

"Maybe when you stop acting like a little girl." Inuyasha said smoothly. I glared at him, although inside I sort of hurt. Your probably wondering why, well maybe because I had the biggest crush on Inuyasha Takashi ever since my father took him in at the age of 13, I was only 9 but ready for a boyfriend. To bad the guy never looked my way. I had done everything in my powers to make him at least look once and yet he refused. Now I'm 17 and he's 21 and my daddy's best lackey or what they call right-hand man. For to say that just made me feel young, I mean yeah he's twenty one and legal to get anything he wanted, but damn, give a girl a brake.

5 minutes later the car pulled up into our top notch villa. The two guards at the gates nodded as the driver showed him his card and he drove in. Inuyasha quickly opened his door the minute the car stopped and came over to my side. He opened my door and I slid out. I held my chin high and looked the other from him. From the corner of my eye I could see him roll his eyes and closed the door behind me.

Inside I had went straight to my fathers office. Before I could get to the door, it opened and out came three unfamiliar looking guys. They had serious faces as they passed me. It didn't really bother me so I went into the office. Daddy was talking to Inuyasha and stopped when he spotted me. He smiled warmly and held his arms open. I smiled back and instantly went into the warm bear hug.

"How's my little princess?" He asked pulling me back to take a good look at me.

"Oh daddy I think I'm hardly 'little' anymore." Sanoske's smile remained as he nodded his head.

"Sadly I know this, your growing up so fast and you've already blossomed into a beautiful lady." I smiled proudly and had hoped Inuyasha was watching. I took a quick glance and my little happiness was flattened when I found him looking off to space. Damn him!

"Anyways, what I came in here to tell you was that my 18th birthday is coming up…"

"How could I forget." He said happily. I nodded and continued.

"And well I was wondering if I could spend the night out with my girls, you know go clubbing and stuff." Freakin 17 and still asking my dad if I can go somewhere.

"Of course you can." I blinked a few times, that's it? No, 'Oh as long as someone goes with you?' or 'As long as you have fifty of my guards with you' I asked myself. About damn time! I laughed inwardly, to bad that was short lived. "Just as long as Inuyasha goes with you."

"WHAT!" We both said at the same time, though he recovered much quicker.

"Um Sir, I'm pretty sure your gonna need me here for something. Anything more important." Inuyasha tried to persuade. My father shook his head.

"Nope nothing, and anyways I think you need the day off. Your young, you need to enjoy it before it runs out." He said looking at him. Inuyasha nodded his head slowly, as if my father had just told something important to him…hmm…maybe he did?

"Ah but dad. Inuyasha's boring he'll just slow me down." I side thought I didn't mean it. Hey I wasn't about to let Inuyasha think I liked him…yes I know weird.

"Slow you down? From what? If anything he'll be the one supplying the free drinks." My father laughed. I couldn't help but smile.

"Well I guess that's true, though I'm sure I could have gotten them myself." After a short pause I faked a yawn. "Well I'm tired good daddy." I said kissing his cheek. "Night Yash." I said a little to cheerfully. He just grunted and I left.

Upstairs in my room, I laid on the bed. I looked around at all my stuff and smiled. My room was at least the size of an apartment in downtown Tokyo, maybe even bigger. It had everything a girl could want. A king sized bed with silk baby blue sheets, comforters and pillows. The walls were painted to look like beach, the ocean in the background. The ceiling had also been painted and looked like the sky with a few puffy white clouds. My carpet was a fuzzy baby blue also. I guess you could tell that my favorite color was baby blue.

Anyway my closet was just as long as my room and was the ones that moved. The top with blouses and the bottom with skirts and pants. The day I saw the movie 'Clueless' was the day I got this baby. Right now I had the phone in my hands and was my best friend phone number. It rung once and then twice until her butlers voice spoke up.

"Hey William!"

"Oh why hello Lady Kagome. I'll go get Lady Sango." I smiled into the phone. William was the grandpa that I never had, he was so sweet and always would tell Sango and me stories when we were kids.

"Hey Kag!" Sango's voice said, interrupting my sweet memories.

"Hey San, you are not going to believe who I have to bring with us on my birthday." I almost yelled into the phone.

"Inuyasha." She said flat out and I cursed into my head. Leave it to Sango to get things right on the first try.

"Uh…yeah."

"Psh, I kind figured that would happen, it was pretty obvious, geez Kag your mad slow!" I rolled my eyes, forgetting she couldn't see me.

"Shut up, anyways I guess we'll have to ditch him some how."

"Haha, like you would want to!" Sango said still laughing.

"Ok San you've had your laughs for one day. No more pick on sloe Kagome."

"Aw sorry Kag, you know I love you." She said making weird kissing noises. I laughed. Yup that was Sango Taijya for ya. We had been best friends since the day we popped out of our mommas and oddly enough both lost them at 2, something about a deal going wrong and they had to face the consequences. After that Sango's dad got out of the business while my dad took over. Now he like the lord here. Anything he says goes and people really respect him. Any who getting back to Sango and me. We do everything together, we had our first kiss together, not together, I mean like with two other boys at the same time. We got our periods together, we even smoked a blunt for the first time together and we got caught doing it. Yep and still with all the outrageous adventures we've been through, we're still virgins and we're gonna keep it that way till marriage. A pact between friends, between sisters.

"Hellloooo…EARTH to KA-GO-ME!"

"W-what?" I said stupidly into the phone, ok was I high or what?

"Okay Kag are you high or what?" I smiled.

"Can you believe I was just thinking that." I feel she had grinned and made me too.

"Duh Kag we have a bond, we always know what the other thinking, feeling, anything you know that."

"Yeah I know."

"So anyways we going shopping tomorrow to get you something cute for Friday?" She asked really excited.

"Of course, how could I say no?"

<><><><><>

I groaned as the sun hit me directly in my face, like it always did. Why did I have to have such thin blinds? I put my head under my pillow, I really wasn't a morning person. I was about to go off in la la land again when something tapped my on my shoulder. Okay who ever it is, better get out before I bite their heads off. I thought to myself. After about 1 minute the tapings still hadn't stop so I lifted my pillow and glared at the person who's face was inches from mine.

"MIROKU!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, scaring the shit out of the poor boy, making him fall onto his ass.

"Geez Kag, no need to yell so loud. I just came to wake you up." I eyed suspiciously. Ha! I said to myself, this coming from a pervert like you! "Sango asked me to!" He said trying to defend himself. That's when the door to my room busted open and in stepped Sango, and what do you know, she didn't look to happy.

"Miroku…" She said in deadly low voice. " When did I ever tell you to come in here?" I swear I heard Miroku squeak like a mouse and if wasn't him…ah damn we need to get out of here!

"I just thought that she needed company that's all. I swear!" Sango glared at him some more before turning to me.

"Morning Kags." She said her mood taking a whole 180. "He didn't do anything stupid right?" She giving a glare to him, turning a smile to me. I laughed.

"Yea right, like he could, I would've slapped him a long time ago." Sango and I laughed, while huffed about that not being funny.

<><><>

1 hour later when I was done styling myself and everything I came down to take a quick eat and then leave with Sango and Miroku to the mall. I went into the kitchen where I say the cook, her name was Aya and she was really nice and a VERY great cook.

"Morning sweet heart." She said to me as I passed and gave a quick peck on the cheek. She had been in this family way before I was evening born and so to us she was family.

"Morning." I said back. And went straight to the fridge. "I'm just going to grab a yogurt ok?" I asked her. She nodded her head and then I left. Sango, Miroku, and I tried as hard as we could to sneak by daddy's open door, but the minute we even stepped into viewing range, he spotted us.

"Morning princess, where are you heading off to?" I sighed and stepped into his office, where I saw Inuyasha and some other lackeys. I smiled real nice when they looked at me. Quickly they turned around, knowing if they stared to long, my daddy would have their life.

"Uh, I was just go to go shopping with Sango and Miroku, is that ok?" He nodded some not really paying attention, which got me a bit pissed, why bother asking if your not going to listen?

"Uh…yea its fine, just as long as Inuyasha goes with you." ok at this moment this would be a great time to scream.

AN: OK done with chapter 1! Hmm…I noticed something that I just want to clear up here, before someone comments on it. Sanoske Higurashi is a drug boss, which means that he controls all the dealers on the streets. Also in this chapter he seemed really nice and calm, nothing like a drug boss, well that's just his nice side when it comes to Kag. In meetings and stuff like that, he's very ruthless. Anyways why he's acting all nice to Inuyasha is because, like he had said, he's young and he should enjoy it, also because of some other stuff that I won't mention until later chapters. Okay that's all, if any one has any other questions, feel free to ask! REVIEW greatly appreciated!! ^_^

PS: I highly recommend people to read The Coldest Winter Ever by. Sister Souljah. it's a really wonderful book about a girl growing up in Brooklyn, New York with a father who was a drug boss! Though some stuff may not be suitable for kids under 13, a lot of sexual content…lol. Ok you can review now…thanx!
