Chapter 15: A Bath And Lunch
Kagome soon found Sango getting ready for a bath and offered to join her. Sango could tell from the younger girl's voice and stance that she needed to talk and accepted quickly. Kagome went to her room to get her soap and a clean kimono and joined Sango in the hall to the hot spring's room. After they had both got washed up, they sank into the warm water of one of the medium sized pools. Once they were both comfortablely seated, leaning against two rocks in the center of the pool, Sango turned to Kagome with a serious look on her face.
"Okay, I know you want to talk. Spill." Sango used one of the expressions that she had heard Kagome use when they had talked before.
Kagome said nothing for a while and sunk deeper into the water. Suddenly, she looked up and looked confused. "Sesshomaru asked me to be his mate and I said yes." Kagome suddenly blurted out. She knew if she hadn't said it then, she would never get it out and finding Sango to talk would be useless.
Sango stared at her a little dumbfounded for a while. "He did what? And you said what?" she asked. "I did hear you right, didn't I?" She looked confused and shook her head.
Kagome stood to get out. "I shouldn't have bothered you. I'll just leave." Kagome said, walking to the edge of the pool.
Sango stood up as well. "Sit back down. It's just a little shocking, that's all. You did love Inuyasha. Although, I can understand why you wouldn't anymore." Sango said, walking over to her and setting a hand on her shoulder. Then, she dragged Kagome back over to the rocks where they had been sitting, and pushed her back down. "I know you want to talk me or else you wouldn't have looked for me." Sango said sitting back in her place. "So talk."
Kagome sank back against her rock and looked down at her reflection in the water. "You think it's fast? It's my life and I think it's fast. I just don't know if I'm doing the right thing." Kagome said, never looking up to meet Sango's eyes. "I guess I just wanted to know how you knew being with Miroku was right." At the mention of Miroku, Sango's cheeks brightened and she looked away.
"I really don't know." Sango said, the blush remaining on her cheeks. "It just felt right. I don't know how to explain it, I just feel safe when I'm with him." she said.
Kagome smiled a little. "That's how I feel. When he's around, I just feel safer, and I was worried about him when he got attacked." Kagome told her.
"Then, what are you worried about? Don't think about it, just act." Sango told her, standing up and walking to the edge. She then got out of the pool of hot water, dried off, and got dressed. She walked to the door and before she could open it, it was opened from the outside, revealing a stoic Sesshomaru. Sango looked between the two and excused herself, saying something about going to go keep Miroku out of trouble.
Sesshomaru closed the door after she left and turned to watch Kagome in the spring for a while before moving. When he did move, he walked towards her, and then stopped to undress. Kagome turned away until she felt the water shift, then turned back to the partially submerged Sesshomaru.
Neither moved as they just stared at each other. When Sesshomaru had entered the room she had submerged her body, up to her neck, and crossed her arms over her breasts. As they stared at each other, she relaxed her arms, but remained under the water.
Sesshomaru finally moved towards Kagome, and when he got to her, he leaned down and wrapped his arms around her shoulders and nuzzled his nose into her neck. Sesshomaru moved around and leaned against the rock and swiftly placed Kagome in his lap, her sitting sideways with her head leaning on his shoulder.
Kagome lifted her head after a while. "I thought you had work to do?" Kagome asked.
Sesshomaru gently pressed her head back to his shoulder. "I did. I got most of it done." he told her, running his clawed hand through her hair.
"Most?" Kagome asked. "Why not all?"
"I had to talk to the other lords, and go over and sign a few agreements." Sesshomaru told her. "The paperwork can wait until later." He said, moving his hand up and down her side. "I wished to bathe before lunch."
"How lucky for me." Kagome said, smirking and gently kissing his shoulder. "I should probably get out." she said, a teasing qaulity to her voice as she pulled away a little.
"You are going no where." Sesshomaru said, pulling her firmly against his chest.
Kagome slowly wrapped her arms around his neck. "You're so convincing. I suppose I could stay for a while longer." she said, pressing her chest against his. "So, how much longer did you want me to stay here?" Kagome asked, moving to straddle his legs, a playful smile on her lips.
Sesshomaru's hands moved down to her hips as his line of vision moved down to the top of her chest that was exposed above the water, a smile appearing on his face at the sight. Her hand on his chin brought his vision back up to her face, which cleared his head a little. "We can't stay for too long. Lunch will be ready shortly." he told her, his hands on her hips pulling her towards him.
"Well, then I should go get dressed." Kagome said, using Sesshomaru's shoulders to push up a little.
Sesshomaru gripped her hips tighter and growled. "Not that shortly." Sesshomaru said, pulling back down on his lap. When she was once again staddling his lap, he saw the playful, teasing look dancing in her eyes. "We do not have to go to lunch at all." Sesshomaru said, pulling her body closer to his.
Kagome looked at Sesshomaru and shook her head. "You're terrible. We have to go to lunch. The lords are leaving after lunch. We should be there, and Rin will wonder where we are." Kagome said, rubbing the back of his neck and behind his ears.
Sesshomaru's face fell a little at her logic. Then he got an idea and his face brightened up again. "We still have some time." he told her. He then brought his hands off of her hips and slid them back and down. Sesshomaru suddenly grabbed Kagome's butt, causing her to sit up straight, bringing her nipples out of the water. Sesshomaru abruptly locked his lips over her right nipple, causing Kagome to moan a little at the sensations.
Kagome maintained her mind enough to be a little mad at him, but it didn't last very long. "You did that to me on purpose." she accused him between moans. She got over it quickly as Sesshomaru increased his suckling, massaging her other breast with one hand, the other on her back, holding her in place. Kagome moaned and rubbed behind his ears. She was surprised when she heard Sesshomaru start to growl, but thought it sounded more like a purr.
Sesshomaru stopped abruptly and sat up. He wrapped his arms around her waist, causing her to rest her head on his shoulder, and gently ran a hand up and down her back. It took Kagome a moment to gather her senses, and when she looked at him she was blushing.
"You planned all that, didn't you?" she asked, mad at him for teasing her. "And since when do you purr?" She looked at him for a minute, and then leaned her forehead against his shoulder, giving up on getting him to say anything.
"Don't think that that didn't affect me." Sesshomaru whispered into her ear. "It did." He nuzzled into her hair a little. "I was merely trying to pleasure my mate. It is my duty to do so. And I don't purr. It was a happy growl." he said, his voice still low.
"Wait a minute. I said I would be your mate. You're talking like I already am." Kagome said confused, lifting her head off of his shoulder a little.
He stopped rubbing her back. "You became my mate the instant you said yes. You are mine, no one else's." Sesshomaru said with great conviction in his voice that made Kagome shiver a little.
"I didn't realize it was so final." Kagome said, a little worried. There were things that she was worried about. Things she knew would be a problem.
Sesshomaru looked at her, concerned. "Have you changed your mind?" he asked, hoping that she hadn't. She shook her head no on his shoulder, which relieved him a little, but he still had the problem of finding what was bothering his mate. "What is the matter?" he asked, concerned there was something wrong with her.
Kagome once again shook her head, not wanting to tell him. She should tell him, especially if she wanted him to tell her everything would be all right and she was being silly for worrying about it.
"I can not do anything about the problem unless I know what it is." Sesshomaru told her. He began to rub her back again, this time soothingly.
Kagome nodded her head. "You're right." she said as she wrapped her arms around him under his arms. "I'm worried. I'm mortal and I won't live nearly as long as you. What will happen to you after I die?" she asked, concerned.
Sesshomaru chuckled a little. "You have nothing to be worried about." he told her. Sesshomaru hesitated to continue a little and it caused Kagome to look up at his face. "My seed will be absorbed into your body and it will make you live longer. Almost as long as myself." he said, looking into her eyes.
Kagome looked a little shocked and her mouth formed a little 'o' that Sesshomaru just had to kiss. He leaned down and took her lips with his in a lingering chaste kiss. Kagome closed her eyes, happy at being reassured by her mate. Kagome pulled back a little bit, and looked at Sesshomaru.
"We should get out. Lunch will be ready soon." Sesshomaru said quietly. He noticed Kagome look down between them and blush. "I can get out first if you are worried about me looking at what is mine." Sesshomaru said, a hint of teasing in his voice.
Kagome smirked at him. "You'll get to see it soon enough, I'm sure." she said, slowly moving off of his lap. Kagome sat next to him, almost completely submerged.
"Not soon enough." Sesshomaru said, smirking as he stood up and kissed her lightly on the cheek before he moved out of the spring. After he had dressed and moved out of the room, Kagome stood and got out of the pool and got dressed.
Kagome walked out the door and wasn't very surprised to see Sesshomaru waiting for her. They walked to the dining hall and were slightly surprised to see everyone there, waiting for them.
"Okaa-san," both Rin and Shippo yelled as they got up and ran to her.
Kagome kneeled down to give both of them hugs, then stood back up and led them to the table. Rin sat between Sesshomaru and Kagome, and Shippo sat between Kagome and Sango. Kagome also noticed the continued addition of Raven to the table, sitting next to Rosuto.
During lunch, the conversation was minimum. The lords no longer had anything to say, Raven's attitude had been subdued by her long conversation with Rosuto. Once the children started eating, their chatter stopped, and everyone else was content to stay quiet.
After Rin and Shippo had finished eating, Jaken was ordered to keep an eye on them in the garden. Rosuto and Raven followed them to make sure the children had fun. The other lords told their mates to go and get ready to leave.
Kagome was about to go play with the children when Sesshomaru stopped her. She looked at him, confused, but sat back down. She remained silent, waiting to be spoken to.
Fokkusu spoke first. "You insist upon mating a human?" he asked. Sesshomaru nodded. "And you don't mind that your pups will be hanyou?" the fox youkai inquired.
"She has the whole Shikon no Tama. The tama will grant any deisre she has." Sesshomaru explained to them.
"I am sure you have discussed it, so what will it be?" Karasuhebi asked this.
"That our pups be born youkai, not hanyou." Sesshomaru told them.
Fokkusu looked confused. "You were angried when your father took a human mate and now you insist on taking one yourself." he said, perplexed.
"I did not understand his actions at the time. I also happen to have an advantage over him." Sesshomaru told them.
"The Shikon no Tama." Karasuhebi said. Sesshomaru nodded. Karasuhebi looked at the other lords, then back at Sesshomaru. "I suppose there is nothing we can do about it anyway. I will take my leave of your home now." he said, standing up, and then, after bowing, he left.
Fokkusu and Kuma both stood up, and bowed. Kuma didn't look happy about it though. "I don't care what they say, I think you are an idiot for mating a human. Don't come crawling to me when you get attacked for having a human mate." Kuma said with a sneer and then he left as well.
"You have my support, Sesshomaru. Don't bother listening to Kuma. Your mate may be human, but she is powerful." Fokkusu said, bowing again. He turned to Kagome, then. "Make sure if he needs help, that he asks me for it. He doesn't always know when to ask for help, especially when he needs it." he said, smiling a bit. He then turned back to Sesshomaru. "I can not speak for Karasuhebi, but I believe he would back you as well. I suggest you speak to him before he leaves." he said, bowing again and then he too left.
A moment after Fokkusu left, Karasuhebi came back in. "Fokkusu told me what Kuma said. You have my support as well. Your lady is strong, human or not. I also believe you will be good for each other." he said, bowing before disappearing back into the hall.
Sesshomaru looked at Kagome. "You made a good impression on them." he said a small smile on his lips. Sesshomaru reached a hand over and placed it on her cheek, drawing all of her attention to him. "Go spend some time with Rin and Shippo. They will enjoy it and I feel that you have missed them as well." Sesshomaru said, gently rubbing his thumb back and forth over her cheek, mindful of the dangerous claw that tipped the appendage.
Kagome smiled and nodded. She then kissed his thumb as it passed over her lips. "Come join us. They would like it and so would I." Kagome said.
Sesshomaru shook his head. "I can't. I have the papers to go over." he told her.
"They can't wait for an hour or so?" Kagome asked him, eyes pleading with him.
"I will come for a short while." Sesshomaru told her, standing up and offering her a hand.
"Good," Kagome said, taking Sesshomaru's hand and standing up. "I don't know where the garden is."
Sesshomaru looked at her and shook his head. He reached over and picked her up bridal style and in two seconds they were in the garden where the others were. They stood there for a moment just watching Rin and Shippo play with Raven and Rosuto by a fountain.
Rosuto was the first to notice them, but said nothing, wanting the children to notice for themselves. Raven noticed what Rosuto had looked at, and saw Sesshomaru and Kagome watching them.
Shippo's nose picked up a familiar scent and turned around and quickly noticed them both standing there. "Okaa-san." he said as he stood up and ran to her, Rin right behind him. "Did you come to play with us?" he asked when he had jumped into her arms.
Kagome nodded. "Yes, and so did Sesshomaru." she told the small kitsune. Shippo looked doubtful at the youkai lord but dismissed it when Kagome scratched behind his ear.
"Sesshomaru-sama is going to play, too?" Rin asked, wrapping her little arms around his legs.
Sesshomaru looked down at Rin and placed a hand on her head. "We will see." Sesshomaru said as he picking up Rin and walking over to where they had been playing before, Kagome with Shippo still in her arms following behind him.
Sesshomaru let Rin down and Shippo jumped from his perch on Kagome's shoulder. Kagome taught them how to play tag, and a few other games while Sesshomaru stood watching them. Kagome tried to get him to join in, but he refused, content to just watch them. After over an hour, Sesshomaru reluctantly went back inside to go over the reports he had recieved from throughout his lands. Though, he didn't leave before giving Kagome a private goodbye.
Kagome was hiding behind a bush, waiting for Rin to find her in about the twentyth round of hide and seek. A hand suddenly covered her mouth, muffling the surprised shreik that would have come out caused by the hand on her stomach. She was then pulled against a hard chest, and her captors head was right next to hers. Then she was turned around, and came face to face with Sesshomaru, who slowly removed his hand from her mouth.
Kagome glared at his smirking face. "Don't do that too me again." Kagome warned, keeping her voice down so that Rin wouldn't find them. "What are you doing here anyway?" she asked, curious because he had said he didn't want to play.
Sesshomaru sat down and crossed his legs. Kagome kneeled down in front of him. For a minute, they just sat there looking at each other. Then, slowly, Kagome rose up on her knee's, leaning forward slightly, and gently placed her hands on his thighs. She looked down when she felt something hard under her left hand, that definately wasn't his leg. She gave it a little squeeze and looked up when she heard Sesshomaru groan. She gently squeezed again, and watched his face as pleasure flashed through his eyes before he closed them, and he grabbed her hand.
"Don't do that." Sesshomaru said through gritted teeth.
Kagome leaned a little closer to him and placed her free hand on his cheek, and asked, "Why not?" and squeezed his hardness a little again.
Kagome was surprised when she was suddenly lying on her back, her hands pinned above her head and Sesshomaru straddling her waist with his lips attached to her own. After Sesshomaru released her lips, he nuzzled her neck where it met her shoulder. That was the place that youkai traditionally marked their mates, and most likely where he would mark her as his own mate. He inhaled deeply to savor her sweet scent, but was hit with something he hadn't noticed before. Her scent was spicy, barely, but it was there. Then he realized what it was, Kagome was going into heat. She hadn't been when they had taken a bath together, but she was now, and he didn't know how long human females were fertile. That could be a problem.
'Damnit, I've got to get away from her now.' Sesshomaru thought as he began to get up. Kagome stopped him with a hand on his arm and a questioning look on her face. "I have to go take care of the papers that I put off earlier. I can't put them off for much longer. dn't know how long human females were fertile. That could be a problem." he explained to her. Kagome nodded and released his arm. Sesshomaru stood up and helped her up, placing a chaste kiss on her cheek before he sped off towards the door.
Moments later, when Rin found her, she was still staring after him.
"Okaa-san, you weren't hiding very well." Rin said, coming up behind her and hugging her around the waist from behind.
Kagome looked at Rin behind her and smiled. "I'm sorry Rin. Did you find Shippo yet?" she asked, changing the subject.
Rin smiled. "Hai, he's over with Rosuto-sama and that Raven lady." the little girl told her.
"Well then, let's go get him." Kagome said, taking Rin's hand and walking towards the pond where the youkai women were suppose to be.

"We should get out. Lunch will be ready soon." Sesshomaru said quietly. He noticed Kagome look down between them and blush. "I can get out first if you are worried about me looking at what is mine." Sesshomaru said, a hint of teasing in his voice.
Kagome smirked at him. "You'll get to see it soon enough, I'm sure." she said, slowly moving off of his lap. Kagome sat next to him, almost completely submerged.
"Not soon enough." Sesshomaru said, smirking as he stood up and kissed her lightly on the cheek before he moved out of the spring. After he had dressed and moved out of the room, Kagome stood and got out of the pool and got dressed.
Kagome walked out the door and wasn't very surprised to see Sesshomaru waiting for her. They walked to the dining hall and were slightly surprised to see everyone there, waiting for them.
"Okaa-san," both Rin and Shippo yelled as they got up and ran to her.
Kagome kneeled down to give both of them hugs, then stood back up and led them to the table. Rin sat between Sesshomaru and Kagome, and Shippo sat between Kagome and Sango. Kagome also noticed the continued addition of Raven to the table, sitting next to Rosuto.
During lunch, the conversation was minimum. The lords no longer had anything to say, Raven's attitude had been subdued by her long conversation with Rosuto. Once the children started eating, their chatter stopped, and everyone else was content to stay quiet.
After Rin and Shippo had finished eating, Jaken was ordered to keep an eye on them in the garden. Rosuto and Raven followed them to make sure the children had fun. The other lords told their mates to go and get ready to leave.
Kagome was about to go play with the children when Sesshomaru stopped her. She looked at him, confused, but sat back down. She remained silent, waiting to be spoken to.
Fokkusu spoke first. "You insist upon mating a human?" he asked. Sesshomaru nodded. "And you don't mind that your pups will be hanyou?" the fox youkai inquired.
"She has the whole Shikon no Tama. The tama will grant any deisre she has." Sesshomaru explained to them.
"I am sure you have discussed it, so what will it be?" Karasuhebi asked this.
"That our pups be born youkai, not hanyou." Sesshomaru told them.
Fokkusu looked confused. "You were angried when your father took a human mate and now you insist on taking one yourself." he said, perplexed.
"I did not understand his actions at the time. I also happen to have an advantage over him." Sesshomaru told them.
"The Shikon no Tama." Karasuhebi said. Sesshomaru nodded. Karasuhebi looked at the other lords, then back at Sesshomaru. "I suppose there is nothing we can do about it anyway. I will take my leave of your home now." he said, standing up, and then, after bowing, he left.
Fokkusu and Kuma both stood up, and bowed. Kuma didn't look happy about it though. "I don't care what they say, I think you are an idiot for mating a human. Don't come crawling to me when you get attacked for having a human mate." Kuma said with a sneer and then he left as well.
"You have my support, Sesshomaru. Don't bother listening to Kuma. Your mate may be human, but she is powerful." Fokkusu said, bowing again. He turned to Kagome, then. "Make sure if he needs help, that he asks me for it. He doesn't always know when to ask for help, especially when he needs it." he said, smiling a bit. He then turned back to Sesshomaru. "I can not speak for Karasuhebi, but I believe he would back you as well. I suggest you speak to him before he leaves." he said, bowing again and then he too left.
A moment after Fokkusu left, Karasuhebi came back in. "Fokkusu told me what Kuma said. You have my support as well. Your lady is strong, human or not. I also believe you will be good for each other." he said, bowing before disappearing back into the hall.
Sesshomaru looked at Kagome. "You made a good impression on them." he said a small smile on his lips. Sesshomaru reached a hand over and placed it on her cheek, drawing all of her attention to him. "Go spend some time with Rin and Shippo. They will enjoy it and I feel that you have missed them as well." Sesshomaru said, gently rubbing his thumb back and forth over her cheek, mindful of the dangerous claw that tipped the appendage.
Kagome smiled and nodded. She then kissed his thumb as it passed over her lips. "Come join us. They would like it and so would I." Kagome said.
Sesshomaru shook his head. "I can't. I have the papers to go over." he told her.
"They can't wait for an hour or so?" Kagome asked him, eyes pleading with him.
"I will come for a short while." Sesshomaru told her, standing up and offering her a hand.
"Good," Kagome said, taking Sesshomaru's hand and standing up. "I don't know where the garden is."
Sesshomaru looked at her and shook his head. He reached over and picked her up bridal style and in two seconds they were in the garden where the others were. They stood there for a moment just watching Rin and Shippo play with Raven and Rosuto by a fountain.
Rosuto was the first to notice them, but said nothing, wanting the children to notice for themselves. Raven noticed what Rosuto had looked at, and saw Sesshomaru and Kagome watching them.
Shippo's nose picked up a familiar scent and turned around and quickly noticed them both standing there. "Okaa-san." he said as he stood up and ran to her, Rin right behind him. "Did you come to play with us?" he asked when he had jumped into her arms.
Kagome nodded. "Yes, and so did Sesshomaru." she told the small kitsune. Shippo looked doubtful at the youkai lord but dismissed it when Kagome scratched behind his ear.
"Sesshomaru-sama is going to play, too?" Rin asked, wrapping her little arms around his legs.
Sesshomaru looked down at Rin and placed a hand on her head. "We will see." Sesshomaru said as he picking up Rin and walking over to where they had been playing before, Kagome with Shippo still in her arms following behind him.
Sesshomaru let Rin down and Shippo jumped from his perch on Kagome's shoulder. Kagome taught them how to play tag, and a few other games while Sesshomaru stood watching them. Kagome tried to get him to join in, but he refused, content to just watch them. After over an hour, Sesshomaru reluctantly went back inside to go over the reports he had recieved from throughout his lands. Though, he didn't leave before giving Kagome a private goodbye.
Kagome was hiding behind a bush, waiting for Rin to find her in about the twentyth round of hide and seek. A hand suddenly covered her mouth, muffling the surprised shreik that would have come out caused by the hand on her stomach. She was then pulled against a hard chest, and her captors head was right next to hers. Then she was turned around, and came face to face with Sesshomaru, who slowly removed his hand from her mouth.
Kagome glared at his smirking face. "Don't do that too me again." Kagome warned, keeping her voice down so that Rin wouldn't find them. "What are you doing here anyway?" she asked, curious because he had said he didn't want to play.
Sesshomaru sat down and crossed his legs. Kagome kneeled down in front of him. For a minute, they just sat there looking at each other. Then, slowly, Kagome rose up on her knee's, leaning forward slightly, and gently placed her hands on his thighs. She looked down when she felt something hard under her left hand, that definately wasn't his leg. She gave it a little squeeze and looked up when she heard Sesshomaru groan. She gently squeezed again, and watched his face as pleasure flashed through his eyes before he closed them, and he grabbed her hand.
"Don't do that." Sesshomaru said through gritted teeth.
Kagome leaned a little closer to him and placed her free hand on his cheek, and asked, "Why not?" and squeezed his hardness a little again.
Kagome was surprised when she was suddenly lying on her back, her hands pinned above her head and Sesshomaru straddling her waist with his lips attached to her own. After Sesshomaru released her lips, he nuzzled her neck where it met her shoulder. That was the place that youkai traditionally marked their mates, and most likely where he would mark her as his own mate. He inhaled deeply to savor her sweet scent, but was hit with something he hadn't noticed before. Her scent was spicy, barely, but it was there. Then he realized what it was, Kagome was going into heat. She hadn't been when they had taken a bath together, but she was now, and he didn't know how long human females were fertile. That could be a problem.
'Damnit, I've got to get away from her now.' Sesshomaru thought as he began to get up. Kagome stopped him with a hand on his arm and a questioning look on her face. "I have to go take care of the papers that I put off earlier. I can't put them off for much longer. dn't know how long human females were fertile. That could be a problem." he explained to her. Kagome nodded and released his arm. Sesshomaru stood up and helped her up, placing a chaste kiss on her cheek before he sped off towards the door.
Moments later, when Rin found her, she was still staring after him.
"Okaa-san, you weren't hiding very well." Rin said, coming up behind her and hugging her around the waist from behind.
Kagome looked at Rin behind her and smiled. "I'm sorry Rin. Did you find Shippo yet?" she asked, changing the subject.
Rin smiled. "Hai, he's over with Rosuto-sama and that Raven lady." the little girl told her.
"Well then, let's go get him." Kagome said, taking Rin's hand and walking towards the pond where the youkai women were suppose to be.
