Author's Notes

 

 

 

 

 

Having tried to find the best way to lay out plotline notes has not been easy for this piece of fiction, since you have a limited amount of space to work with. So I thought the best way to do it might be to give a base synopsis of overall plot here, and also keep a brief plot synopsis of each chapter as well; thus, leaving room for a description of the current chapter that is being updated for when it's posted on the outside.

 

Having said that, then, the basic plotline is as follows:

 

It's been 10 years since the defeat of Naraku, and Kagome finds herself trapped in her own time, a circumstance of her own making. A fire at the well house has left her yearning for the past, but how is she to find her way back when she has no shard to take her there? Could the answer lie with a mysterious priest with amber eyes and silver hair who has a keen interest in her and whose family possesses an evil ancient relic that's also searching to find its way back to where it belongs?

 

Characters involved in this story are: Inuyasha, Kagome, Sesshoumaru, Rin, Sango, Miroku, Shippou, Kikyou, Toutousai, Myouga and a few original characters to help plot development.

 

If you are interested in the pairings I will put it at the end of this document in case there are those who do not wish to know before reading the story.

 

 

The Night Before

 

Inuyasha makes his first reluctant foray into Inuyasha forest for the time in ten years. Why does he go there and what will he learn?

 

 

Fire at the Well

 

Kagome is grappling with issues of her present day life when the Well House catches fire, unleashing some uncomfortable emotions she thought she'd left behind. Has she truly forgotten Inuyasha?

 

 

Destati: The Awakening

 

An ancient evil finds a new host and takes a miko as hostage, while Kagome meets a mysterious priest who reminds her so much of the silver-headed man on the other side of the well - the man she finally realizes, she wishes she could be with more than anything.

 

 

That Which Shines Brightest

 

The Forbidden Soul is irresistibly drawn to the Bone Eater's Well and Kagome receives a sudden proposal.

 

 

When Two Souls Collide

 

The battle to regain the Forbidden Soul on the other side of the well begins, but a new problem arises when the corrupted jewel clashes with the power of the Shikon no Tama.

 

 

 

 

Respite for the Weary

 

Smelling the scent of Rin's blood on the wind, Sesshoumaru takes action. Inuyasha is alone with Kagome for the first time in 10 years, and Rin is embroiled in a kissing lesson.

 

 

 

What the Heart Knows

 

Kagome agonizes over a question from Inuyasha while a brother's newfound awareness leads to an unexpected encounter that could have serious consequences.

 

 

 

Echoes of the Past, Shadows of the Future

 

Kagome learns, much to her dismay, the fate of Miroku, and Kikyou returns to the village - drawn by the power of the Forbidden Soul - what does she know about this strange new power?

 

 

 

Eyes of a Child

 

Rin finds herself in a compromising situation while Sesshoumaru arrives, ready to deal with Inuyasha. But what happens when Sesshoumaru fails to recognize Rin, the one he has come demanding atonement for?

 

 

His Name is Erisu

 

Kagome learns the devastating truth about Inuyasha and the Kotodama beads then has a nasty encounter with the malevolent Forbidden Soul as she tries to help Shirogane purify its youki.

 

 

 

Hiding in the Darkness

 

Evil coalesces from the darkness and Yukino is taken. Rin is wounded during battle and Sesshoumaru finds himself a prisoner to his own actions when all is said and done.
