Breaking News Makes for Interesting Dinner Conversations
It was early the next morning when Kagome woke up. It took her a few seconds to realize the soft purr-like noise was Inu Yasha lightly snoring below her. She blushed as she realized what was brushing against her bare thigh as they lay intertwined underneath the white cotton sheets. She looked away in slight embarrassment thinking, "I don't know what's more shocking: that I did that with him last night, or that I enjoyed it." She eyed the mirror angrily, only to have her features soften. There was the perfect image of Inu Yasha sleeping in all his nude glory with only a sheet and her legs to protect him from her hungry eyes as she rested in his arms. She turned to him and smiled as she pushed a few silver locks from his face. It was a beautiful face for a man, not overly feminine like his brother's. His was rough around the edges, giving the impression that he had not been raised in a prim and proper society. He resembled more a wild youkai raised in a forest full of dangers, even when he slept so peacefully.
"It would be nice to wake up to that face every morning." Kagome mused as she slowly traced his lips with a feather soft touch. "I can picture him waking up a few minutes after me and smiling asking if he could have Ramen for breakfast…I bet his children will learn how to ask for Ramen in five different languages before they can say daddy. They will be beautiful, with his youkai features…but he's hanyou, if we were to have kids, whose blood would predominate?" Kagome cursed lightly as the thought passed her brain.
"What am I doing with such thoughts?" She berated herself before looking up at the mirror again. "It's all your fault!" She thought angrily. "You made me lose control last night…you put those thoughts in my head, and now you are making me think of having Inu Yasha's children! Evil mirror…first chance I get, I'm having you shattered!"
"What are you thinking about?" Inu Yasha's cool words upon her ear abruptly brought her back to reality. She yelped as she turned towards him not sure how to answer. After two seconds, she blurted out the truth,
"How much I hate that mirror."
"You didn't think that way last night." He teased, making her blush. His smirk was soft enough to almost be confused for a smile.
"What time is it?" She quickly changed the subject.
"Almost five." He replied looking at his wrist watch. "Want to get up, or get some more sleep?"
"Might as well get up…I'm too nervous to sleep."
"You know what works wonders with nerves?" When she shrugged, he answered, "A nice long hot shower."
"That sounds nice." She smiled brightly at her hanyou.
"Do I take it you will join me this morning?" Kagome performed her impression of a coke can as she looked away saying his name in a scolding tone. "Hey, don't get shy with me now." He teased as he nuzzled her neck. "After last night, you shouldn't be embarrassed by anything we do together. You should welcome it." He finished by nipping the tip of her nose. Kagome wasn't sure how to reply, so before she could give him a witty comeback, he quickly maneuvered her so he could carry her into the bathroom. "No reason to waste time." He explained.

Kaede had arrived early that morning to find out that her boss and his significant other were making use of the shower. She smiled as she saw the pile of papers and books on the floor. She was sure Inu Yasha was behind that. He never did like books or studying, even when he was young and she still worked for his father. "Probably got jealous she was paying more attention to the books than to him." The old woman reasoned as she picked up the slight mess. She noticed a slight crack on the table and made a mental note to have it repaired before Inu Yasha could fully break it. "Probably got jealous she was working on it instead of working on him."
The old woman turned to the fridge and began to make a full size breakfast. As she began to scramble the eggs, she heard the young woman scream the hanyou's name in ecstasy. "Probably got jealous she was washing her own back instead of his." Kaede laughed. Her employer was predictable, but she was certain this lady friend of his wasn't. Kagura was a morning person that was pleased with a cup of coffee; most of his "pets," as she referred to them, acted indifferent to her and, in some cases, ordered her around. But this girl, Kaede had a feeling she was different. She wasn't as anorexic looking as the models he dated, so Kaede was sure she liked her food. Besides, Kaede had a very welcoming vibe from her the day they had met. She was definitely the type that could tame the hanyou.
"Inu Yasha! If you think that's comfortable underwear, why don't you wear it?" The young woman's voice traveled to the kitchen.
"Definitely the kind that can tame him!" Kaede smiled.
"Well, if you went commando, we wouldn't have this problem!" Inu Yasha protested as he immerged from the room wearing an old pair of jeans and the first t-shirt he found.
"If you could restrain from ripping my underwear…" Kagome's angry voice stopped as she caught sight of Kaede and blushed from head to toe. "Good morning…" Kagome began in an uneasy voice.
"Good morning child. Did the louse of my employer allow you to get any studying done last night?" She asked innocently.
"Of course I did!" Inu Yasha protested as he tried to steal some bacon from the pan. Kaede slapped his hand with a wooden spoon and reprimanded him,
"That's for Kagome. You can have cereal. She is going to need all the energy she can get for that exam of hers."
"Stupid old hag…" Inu Yasha mumbled as he made his way to his Ramen cabinet.
"Cereal, Inu Yasha! Ramen doesn't count." She then turned to Kagome, who was still standing by the doorway. She motioned for her to sit, and placed a tray full of breakfast foods in front of her. "Eat up child." She leaned in and added after noticing Kagome wearing Inu Yasha's old college sweatshirt, "Don't fret; I know that you and Inu Yasha did not do anything improper last night. Had you, you wouldn't be able to walk this morning."
Kagome wasn't sure if she should be relieved or embarrassed by the words. She was sure that she was hungry, so she obeyed the old woman. Inu Yasha pouted over his Lucky Charms, "How come you don't make breakfast like that for me?"
"Because, believe it or not, you are even more annoying on a full stomach…besides you always have me brewing three different types of coffees in the morning." She poured him his usual cup knowing it would silence him for a while. "I brought the reports you ordered and added dinner at your brother's to your calendar. Rin called to confirm for eight."
"Why do I have to go?" Inu Yasha whined. He was already planning to kidnap his girlfriend for another night of fun.
"Rin is introducing her boyfriend to the family. She said your presence is needed to ensure his survival." Kaede's words cause Kagome to look up in surprise and fear.
"Don't worry. I'll take care of everything."
"Famous last words." Kagome muttered.

"Hi jii-chan…no I slept through the night. I'm waiting outside the testing area, now. No, I do not feel the presence of evil spirits around me…I love you too." Kagome turned her phone off as she was escorted with her group to her testing room. She was nervous, but prepared. Not that anything mattered since her mind was on something, or rather someone else.
"I should never have agreed to study at Inu Yasha's…I feel like I'm turning into a nymphomaniac. Though, I finally understand why he has ten showerheads…" Kagome blushed as a memory of her morning activities with her boyfriend flooded back to her. How he touched her under the hot water, how he kissed her as he washed her hair, and how he used his showerheads to… Kagome's body heat increased as the words of the proctor sunk in. Absently, she began to fill out her testing forms.
"I had no idea water pressure could be that pleasurable." Kagome flushed at the thought. "Though it was a relief to find out he wasn't as big as I thought…I'm horrible at estimating!" She berated herself. "Still, he is big! How is he supposed to fit in little old me? Kami, I'm really considering it!" Kagome froze in mid thought. "I am really thinking of having sex with Inu Yasha Takahashi." Kagome didn't have much more time to think as she realized the proctor had begun to time the exam. She would have to analyze her feelings later.

Inu Yasha met with his brother for brunch at their favorite café. Since winter was quickly approaching they chose to sit inside, in one of the quiet corners of the cream walled establishment. Inu Yasha smiled as he overlooked the pictures of Paris on the wall.
"Tell me you didn't fuck her!" Sesshomaru began in his usual stoic manner.
"Relax, I was a complete gentleman. But she will be thinking of me today." Inu Yasha's smile grew.
"So when she fails the bar because thoughts of you kept interrupting her, she can kill you?" Sesshomaru suggested.
"Keh! What's your problem?"
"My daughter is seeing a boy behind my back, and no one bothers to tell me." Sesshomaru spit out the word 'boy' with disgust.
"I didn't know 'til just before she told you." Inu Yasha defended. "I take it things didn't go well with Kagura."
"Why? Have you talked to her?"
"Not today." Inu Yasha noticed the crack in his brother's stone mask. "What happened?"
"That is personal!"
"So is my relationship to Kagome, but that hasn't stopped you from photographing us." Inu Yasha complained.
"I stopped doing that when I realized you were serious with her."
"Then who was the photographer this morning?" Inu Yasha complained as the waiter brought them their tea.
"I have no idea what you are rambling about." Inu Yasha paused a moment. If the photographer that spied on them from a distance wasn't sent by his brother, who could he be? Suddenly, Inu Yasha was happy that he hadn't alerted Kagome about it. "Are you coming tonight?" Sesshomaru brought his brother back from his mussing.
"Yeah, and I'm bringing Kagome."
"Oh?"
"I think a formal presentation of the woman I am courting is in order. Besides, might as well get to know each other well; one way or another, we are going to be one big happy dysfunctional family." The youkai lord growled in response.
"Is this why you called me out of the office for?"
"No. I wanted the keys to the cabin."
"Are you going to take her there?" Sesshomaru raised a questioning brow as he tried to read his brother's smirk.
"For our two month anniversary…I think it's time, don't you?"
"Time for what?" Sesshomaru asked dubiously.
"What do you think?" Sesshomaru paused for a moment and realized the seriousness in his brother's tone.
"Are you sure you are both ready for that?"
"Yes." Sesshomaru pulled out a set of keys from his pocket. The only keys he carried considering his chauffer drove him and someone from his staff always opened the front door of his house.
"You know that is where I was planning to take Kagura to propose…I hope you have better luck than I did."
"I hope so, too."
"You should, considering you only have three and a half months to marry."
"Don't fucking rush me! I'll marry, when I'm damn good and ready."
"You'll marry when she is damn good and ready, like every other man on this miserable planet."
===
"Thank you, sir. I'll call you when we have finished the paperwork." Miroku quickly ended his conversation when he saw his girlfriend knock at his door. It wasn't everyday she traveled to the top floor of Houshi and Son to see him. "Sango, is there something I can help you with?" His tone was only slightly suggestive. Sango entered the large modern office. She passed the authentic Picassos and Dali's as she crossed the soft beige carpet with an elegant and feminine stride. He had set up his mahogany desk in front of the wall to wall back window, leaving the left wall to hang all of his diplomas, awards and pictures with the rich, powerful and famous. She reached his desk and bypassed the leather chair in front it.
"Have you seen The Morning Scoop today?" She asked with a sly grin.
"Now, Sango, you know I don't read tabloids. I'm not the kind of man that enjoys gossip." Sango snorted in response. He pouted slightly before continuing, "Let me guess, J. Lo got married/divorce…whichever she's up to."
"Nope."
"Britney Spears tells all?"
"Nope."
"Someone famous is in town." Sango raised the paper so it would be eye level to her boss.
"Ohhh, so we are having a funeral soon."
"Want to bet on whose?"
"Betting with you is a sure lose!" Miroku joked. "Anyhow, about tonight…"
"For the forty millionth time, I promise not to talk business with your father! Ask again and you will be making your own popcorn for the next ten years!"
===
Kagome waited outside the testing center as ominous clouds began to form in the horizon. There would be rain before the night was out, but that was to be expected. The street was deserted, and there seemed to be no nearby place to catch a bite to eat. The tall industrial buildings and parking garages seem to mock her as she waited for her boyfriend, thinking of a subject she shouldn't be considering on an empty stomach or a mushy brain. The test had been hard and long. She had only had Kaede's homemade muffins to keep her going, which helped significantly, but right now, coherent thought was difficult, which is probably why her feelings seemed to make such sense.
"Ok, I am sure I want to have sex with Inu Yasha, but do I love him? Do I want him to be my first?" Kagome decided to sit on the stairs she was waiting by. "Kami, this morning I was thinking of having his children…but I'm not in love with him, not yet. That's what's scaring me the most. I'm not in love with him, but I'm falling. Damn it! How did this happen? He was supposed to be this arrogant sexy multibillionaire I could have a physical relationship with, but for no reason was I suppose to get my heart involved." Kagome felt something move inside her. "It's his fucking fault! I was fine until he said he wanted to have something real with me! It's what gave me the courage to be so forward last night…Kagome be reasonable; he will tire with you after a few months. By the time the divorce comes around, you will be heartbroken, and he will be dying to jump into anyone's bed but yours."
Kagome half noticed a black Corvette pull up. Inu Yasha lowered the window and smirked at her, his amber eyes twinkling with mischief. "Yup, I'm hopeless." She decided as she stood up. "Might as well make an appointment with my doctor to go on the pill, since my heart won't listen to reason." She slid into the car before leaning over and giving her man a long passionate kiss. Confused and out of breath, Inu Yasha asked,
"What was that for?"
"I'm not sure. My brain burnt down and I'm working on instinct here." Kagome confessed. Inu Yasha placed a hand on her inner thigh and asked,
"Do you want to see how your instincts work in my bedroom?" Before Kagome could answer, her phone rang.
"Hi, jii-chan." Knowing that the mood would be beyond repair, Inu Yasha began to drive towards the Shrine as he half listened to the conversation. "Yes, it was long, but I think I did alright. Actually, he picked me up. We'll be there soon… The two of us? Alright." Kagome put her phone away before turning to Inu Yasha and saying, "Jii-chan wants you to come up for lunch."
"Oh?"
"I think he wants to talk to us about our weekend get-a-way. He still doesn't approve."
"Do you?"
"I'm not one hundred percent comfortable with the idea, to be honest. It's upsetting jii-chan, and in his condition…"
"You don't want to come?" Inu Yasha asked hurt.
"It's not that I don't want to go; it's just that I'm nervous of the gossip that will reach jii-chan's ears."
"Well, he should know better than to listen to what mindless people say. Besides, I think we are ready for this. We deserve it." Kagome turned to her hanyou companion with a curious look as she tried to decipher what he meant. Her eyes fell as she came to her own conclusions. "By the way, I want you to come tonight to dinner. I want you to be at all family events from now on."
"For the sake of the plan?" Kagome asked a bit annoyed. He looked at her in surprise. They hadn't mentioned the arrangement since their little argument. He thought he had gotten her to forget it, at least for now.
"For the sake of having my family respect you as my girlfriend. I want there to be no doubt in anyone's mind that we are serious."
The ride continued in silence until they reach the Shrine. There, Kagome notice a young visitor pointing at them while giggling with a friend. She ignored the teenagers as she entered her family home through the kitchen door. She smiled at her grandfather as he stood with his back towards her in their spacious kitchen. He was chopping cucumbers with a fast and steady beat. "Hi jii-chan."
"Hi Kagome, how was study session with Sango?" Kagome was glad her grandfather had missed Inu Yasha's smirk and suggestive wink.
"Oh…intense."
"Really? She didn't mind you sleeping at her house?"
"No…well, you spoke to her."
"Hai and that is why I can't understand something quite basic." The old man turned towards them while picking up a nearby newspaper. "If you were at Sango's, how come you were photographed coming out of Inu Yasha's apartment this morning after the reporter swears you spent the night?" The old man exploded in anger which even caused Inu Yasha to flinch. Kagome stared in horror at the front picture of The Morning Scoop. There were three overlapped pictures of her and Inu Yasha kissing next to the Headline, "Younger Takahashi Heir Finds New Love Interest."
"That would be because she spent the night at my place." Inu Yasha informed before Kagome had a chance to explain.
"Excuse me?" The old man was flabbergasted at Inu Yasha's indifferent tone.
"Kagome didn't want to upset you, so she told you she would be at Sango's."
"When we spoke over a month ago, I made a few things clear!"
"And so did I! I am interested in your granddaughter. Up to now, I've been a perfect gentleman, and I will continue to be one until she allows me to be something else. We are a serious couple with normal needs! One of which is to spend time together!"
"You don't need to spend the night together to spend time together!"
"With our schedules we do! And we are going on that trip next weekend, too!"
"Not if I have something to say about it!"
"Enough!" Kagome exploded after trying to follow their death match conversation. "Doesn't anyone care about my position on this?" She scolded both males as she grabbed the newspaper from her jii-chan. "You shouldn't believe everything you read, especially in this trash! Yes, I did spend the night with Inu Yasha, but I'm no more tainted than when I left this house last night! Don't you trust me? I hate having to lie to you every time I want to do something with my boyfriend…you make me feel dirty about liking him." She slowly turned to her boyfriend and continued, "But, no matter how much I like you, I must demand you respect my family. My jii-chan's opinion is important to me, and when he tells me he doesn't like me going on a trip with you, I will listen. But the decision is mine to make. Neither of you can dictate my life!" Noticing that both males were looking ashamed after her serious reprimand, she decided to end it by shaking her head and exiting the room. She smiled knowing she had manipulated both men. "And they doubt I'm a lawyer."
"I warned you old man: she is now mine." Inu Yasha warned as he left the Shrine. The old man turned to his violent chopping thinking,
"It's time for drastic measures. That idiotic hot head is going to ruin everything!"

Kagura had been a nervous zombie all day. She hadn't been able to work on any drawings or concentrate at work. Instead, she had been dreading seeing Sesshomaru again after the incident. So, she handled the situation the only way she knew how: she took a personal day, had a double session with Axel, and made herself completely irresistibly beautiful. Yura may show actual skin, but Kagura knew how to leave the suggestion lingering in the air in a more sophisticated manner. So as her black stiletto heals clicked against the marble tile of the Western Lord's front hall, she pushed her shoulders back and smiled at her host, who was lost admiring her cloths. The cleavage of her backless black dress came down to her navel allowing a narrow, but obvious river of flesh to be exposed to his viewing, but the dress was also cut to ensure that the black silk amply covered her breast, so she didn't accidentally flash the wrong person. The loose garment was tight around the hips where it became lacy and layered. Reaching just below the knee in the front and her ankles in the back, the dress flowed to accentuate her long legs. Kagura lived up to her motto: "if you have the body of a model, flaunt it with pride!"
"Kagura," he greeted.
"Lord Sesshomaru." She smiled defiantly at him.
"So formal?" He took the opportunity to close the distance between them and whisper in her ear, "Last night, I was out of line."
"Yes you were, but so was I." Before he could reply to that statement, his daughter came rushing down the stairs.
"He's here! He's here!" She shouted as she pulled down on the hem of her short DKNY dress. The actual dress was a tight spaghetti-strap red slip that fell two inches below her thigh. Above it she wore a red see through mesh top with gipsy sleeves Kagura had designed for her.
"That dress is not appropriate for a proper young lady!" Sesshomaru growled.
"No time to change, he's here! And, daddy, please don't be mean or threatening!" Rin pouted.
"I am not threatening, and you need to change!"
"Sesshomaru, you are wearing your favorite 'Corporate Takeover Suit,' and Rin is fine!" Kagura protested as the demon lord adjusted his jacket.
"Excuse me for being proper."
"You are excused." Before the argument could proceed, Jaken open the front door to reveal the guest of honor. Souta followed his sister and her boyfriend quietly as he tried to loosen the uncomfortable tie. He wasn't used to being dressed so formal, but was glad his grandfather had made him buy his one good black suit. He was feeling a bit strange considering the last time he had worn it had been to his aunt's funeral, and now, as Inu Yasha had jokingly put it, he was wearing it to his own.
Rin ran past her uncle and future aunt to rush to Souta's side. She smiled reassuringly in her usual manner before taking his hand and leading him towards the Lord.
"Father, this is my boyfriend, Souta."
"Please to meet you." The young man managed to choke as he stretched out a slightly trembling hand to the Lord. Sesshomaru eyed him wearily before taking it. Souta yelped when Sesshomaru's grip threaten to break his hand.
"Hi, I'm Kagura, a friend of the family." Kagura interrupted, freeing the young man's hand from the vice grip of the inu youkai. Souta smiled gratefully.
"Hi, Rin has told me a lot about you." He smiled, and was happy that her grip was much softer. Kagura motioned for them to move into the dinning room, which was not holding a welcoming atmosphere. Sesshomaru had ordered that all the armor and weapons that adorned the dinning area be polished, and with hundreds of candles illuminating the old room, Souta couldn't help but feel he was entering Lord Sesshomaru's version of the Tower of London. The long table was set with the finest linens the Lord possessed. The heirloom had the story of the Inu Youkai's rise to power in the west painted on the edges. To match, the Royal Inu Youkai China was chosen for this special occasion. The room smelled of money and power, and Souta wasn't sure he was ready for it.
Kagura was surprised to find that the seat to the right of the Lord had been set, but figured Rin probably didn't want to explain strange traditions to her boyfriend. She was slightly annoyed to find that the place setting had her name on it. She would have to remind Rin never again to do that. She was not his wife, and would not take that sit. Her surrogate daughter sat in front of her, between her father and boyfriend. Inu Yasha and Kagome sat to Kagura's right. Noticing the distance between Souta and Inu Yasha, Kagura briefly wondered if Sesshomaru had had any hand in the seating arrangements. They all waited for the Lord to take his seat before sitting. Then the games began.

Sango and Miroku arrived punctually to his parent's estate. Miroku had prayed the entire drive to the country that his parents hadn't opted for a last minute "quickie." That was one side of his parents he was sure Sango did not want to become better acquainted with. He was rewarded with a fully dressed mother answering the door. She warmly hugged her son before welcoming the young woman by his side with a kiss on the cheek.
Kaida took a moment to examine the young woman, and she liked what she saw. Sango was dressed in a pair of cream dress pants with a gold silk top that had a droopy neckline. She had opted to wear her hear in a low ponytail, since Kagome had once told her it looked less threatening. Even as she stood nervously before the older woman, Kaida could tell Sango had a warm heart. "I see Miroku didn't lie when he said you were beautiful." The older woman smiled as Sango blushed slightly.
"You know I never lie." Miroku protested as they entered the room. Sango quickly examined the older woman realizing Miroku had inherited her soft features. Kaida had vibrant violate eyes and a soft spoken smile. She also had short brown curly hair, which she normally wore in a bun. Sango hoped that when she was her age, she would have a body like hers. At 52 years old, Kaida had the same measurements as the current Miss Universe, though, her body wasn't as firm as it had been in her youth.
"Ah, so they have arrived on time, probably Sango's doing." Miroku Sr. announced as he entered the well lit front hall. The glass chandelier glistened as its light was reflected from the large mirrors hanging on the creamy pink walls.
"Mr. Houshi." Sango greeted with a smile. The older man had warm chestnut eyes and Miroku's black hair. He did not wear it long enough for a ponytail, but it still looked silky smooth. He had a wide frame that filled his suits fully, giving the impression he had been a king in a previous life. But he had the joyful smile of a houshi.
"Please, call me Miroku. We're not at the office." He smiled and led the couple to the dinning room.

"So you've been accepted to Tokyo University; isn't that where your sister went?" Sesshomaru inquired as the dinner conversation continued. The room was tensed as he spoke, and everyone turned to Souta, waiting for his answer. Their silence echoed off the walls as the normally gentle noise of the chopsticks touching the China drummed in their ears. The young man thought he was going to vomit at any moment. He couldn't stand Sesshomaru's examining eye.
"Yes."
"Do you also want to become a lawyer?"
"No…I want to study journalistic photography, but I will probably double major with something in management…for the Shrine." He added quickly.
"Who is going to take over the Shrine after your jii-san retires? Both of you are planning careers in such different fields."
"We are going to share the responsibility. When the time comes, we will sort things out. But, for no reason will the Shrine leave the family." Kagome answered trying to take some of the heat from her brother.
"I see, and how long have you known of their relationship, Kagome?" Sesshomaru shifted his eyes towards the young miko, as Inu Yasha slid closer to her.
"Oh, I knew since he first met her four months ago." Kagome replied honestly. "Imagine my surprise to find out she was my boyfriend's niece."
"Enough of this who knew when!" Kagura declared as she took a sip of her wine. "The important thing is that we all know now." She liked this boy. He had avoided all of Sesshomaru's traps so far: he had dressed appropriately, shaken his hand firmly, decline the wine, keep his hands above the table at all times and not spilled anything. "So tell us, how did you two meet?"
"I had gone to the mall with my friends when we decided to take public transportation, just for the fun of it." Rin began. "But we soon got lost and ended up in front of the Higurashi Shrine. Souta was out front sweeping the stairs, so we asked him for directions. We were so confused he offered to go with us. We started talking soon afterwards." Rin smiled and slipped her hand around her boyfriends arm. She was too bouncy to notice his momentary fear.
"That's such a nice story." Kagura smiled.
"Yes, but I'm sure not as nice as how my dear brother met Kagome. You still haven't told us." Sesshomaru turned towards them, and Kagome gave a nervous laugh.
"We met at her office." Inu Yasha set plainly.
"Oh, come on, where is the story behind that?" Kagura teased.
"Well, we were holding open casting for a new reality show about finding the perfect husband." Kagome began, "But, the ad got misprinted, and we had an interesting group of people respond. Of course, Inu Yasha had to come and see what all the fuss was about, and in the middle of a room full of circus freaks, he sort of stood out."
"I would have never guessed." Sesshomaru snorted and Inu Yasha "kehed."
"Well, he was the only one trying to look up my skirt. Me being me, told him off, and he just smiled and left. He returned after I had interviewed every weirdo in Tokyo. He was well behaved, and after interviewing the candidate we loving referred to as Mucus-boy, a date with your brother didn't sound so bad."
"And I was smart enough not to let her get away after that." Inu Yasha added.
"How long have you two been together?" Kagura asked.
"Almost two months." Inu Yasha smiled proudly. Kagura turned to Sesshomaru and said,
"You owe me lunch."
"They haven't reached the two month marker yet!" Sesshomaru protested.
"Are you two betting on how long we'll last?" Inu Yasha growled.
"No, on how long it will take for Kagome to realize she is wasting her time with you." Sesshomaru replied calmly. "Probably as soon as she is identified as your mysterious new girlfriend."
"You read the article?" Inu Yasha inquired.
"Do you think I want to know the sorted details?"
"There are sorted details?" Souta asked surprised, while eyeing Inu Yasha evilly.
===
"He just wouldn't come out! No mattered how hard I pushed or Miroku pulled, Miro just didn't budge."
"Mom, do you really need to tell this story?" Miroku pleaded.
"Of course dear, now don't interrupt me or I'll take out your baby album. Where was I? Oh yes, the fire department finally arrived and they were able to cut him out."
"Oh my Kami!" Sango started surprised. "But why did you climb up that pipe to begin with?"
"I was trying to rescue a lost square."
"He was trying to peek into the Lady's Changing Room." Miroku Sr. corrected.
"Dad, I was five!"
"So, you were groping your nannies before you could even walk." His mother added. Sango smiled shyly as both parents were enjoying teasing their son. They had only set the side of the table they were eating on in order to keep the affair casual and intimate. It was easy to relax with the older couple, and Sango found it easy to enjoy their company. Kaida had outdone herself preparing Miro's favorite dishes and decorating the dinning room with jasmines and sakuras. She could get used to this family. "Time for the embarrassing naked pictures." Kaida smiled as she led them into the living room for tea.
"Relax, Miroku, everybody has naked baby pictures."
"Oh, they aren't from when he was a baby." Kaida interrupted. "They are from age 11 to 15…he went through a nudist phase. We tried to ignore it, but he insisted. Now, we get to embarrass him."
Miroku sighed; it was going to be a long night.
