Inuyasha had been training Kagome for about a month on her new abilities, mainly how to control the amount of sound she heard, smells, and how far she really wanted to see. For it was simple to control for someone like him who’d had these abilities their entire life, but a lot more difficult for one who’d just discovered such things.
“I can’t believe…Kagome…Yasha!” She could hear tidbits of the other’s conversation as they took a break from her newly important studies.
“What about me and Yasha?” She asked suddenly standing in their path. Sango and Miroku were obviously surprised at their friend’s sudden apparition. “Don’t act like you weren’t just discussing me, I heard you!” At this they immediately looked guilty, they had forgotten about the ‘change’ as Kagome now called it.
“I was just wondering how long it might take for you to get this totally under control. You need to tell your mom.” She paused and looked seriously into her best friend’s eyes, “Kagome, it’s been almost three months, I’m sure they’re worried sick about you.”
The girl under scrutiny turned around just in time to greet the half-demon of their entourage, “We leave in a half week.” nobody asked what he meant by it.
Inuyasha disappeared with the girl from the future and the rest of their group just looked in shock at the place where they had been standing before.
No more than four days later found our two heroes in front of the bone eater’s well. They said goodbye to their friends and without further ado, leapt into the cavern. On Kagome’s side of the well Souta waited patiently for his sister’s return.
“Sis! Mom, Kagome’s back and Inu-nii-chan is with her!” A young man’s voice called right before she was tackled.
An hour later Kagome’s mother was staring in half shocked wonder at the story that her daughter had just finished relaying to her.
“So, you have all the cool abilities that Inuyasha has without the ugliness?”
“Hey! I’m not ugly!” Kagome grabbed him before he could even think to harm any one of her family members, especially the smart mouthed old man.
“Oh, Dear.” Kagome’s mom muttered half under her breath. “I’m terribly sorry for this dear.”
“What are you talking about mama?” Kagome asked as all eyes turned to the woman.
“I didn’t know until after you were born and he had to go back! I’ll see if I can’t get in touch with him, I don’t think he realized you would manifest this early..” She was cut off by her daughter.
“Who, mama?” Kagome and Souta asked together.
“Why your father of course.” was her nonchalant reply as she sauntered out of the room. Minutes later there was a small red flash from down the hall towards the older woman’s room, followed by a screech. Inuyasha and Kagome reached the room with Souta and Jii-chan nipping at their heels.
Standing with his arms wrapped around Kagome’s mother stood a fairly tall man with dark blue, almost black hair that touched just below his butt, and a fairly lithe form from what they could see of him.
“Oh, I suppose I might of worried you all. Well nothing to fret.” she turned around slowly still held in the mysterious man’s grasp. As they fully faced their audience, their were two gasps and soon after, the sound of Kagome falling into Inuyasha’s grasp as he reached out to he with his increased reflexes.
