CHAPTER I

Inuyasha, Miroku, Shippou and Sango with Kirara waited by the well. Kagomewas supposed to return at about sunset, but she still wasn't there and it was pitch dark by then.

"Where the hell is that wench?" Inuyasha complained. "I'm starving already!"

"Can you just think about your stomach?" Shippou asked. "You're impossible."

"Shut up, kid!" Inuyasha said and the two started to argue. Miroku sighed. He had been doing this for the past two hours every time Inuyasha and Shippou got into their fights. This was now the eight one.

Finally Kagome popped from the well. They expected to see her carrying a huge back, but funnily enough she wasn't. So shopping wasn't the excuse for taking so long, was it? The only thing she had with her was a small backpack.

"Hello everyone! I'm sorry it took so long."

By then Inuyasha had completely forgotten Shippou and was approaching menacingly.

"What took you so damn long?" he asked.

"Oh, I had some trouble finding something," Kagome said, waving her hands. "But we can leave at once if you want."

"Of course I want!"

So after that short while, Kagome and Sango were walking very close together, and were whispering quickly to each other, and giggling. The giggling part was what annoyed Inuyasha the most. Miroku just stared at them.

"They're probably talking about you," Shippou said nonchalantly.

But then, when the girls giggled particularly loud the guys didn't think anymore that it was about them that they were talking.

"I'll show you later," they heard Kagome say, and then they saw Sango smile brightly.

"What are you giggling about?" Inuyasha asked, irritated.

"Nothing, nothing," Kagome assured him. "Let's continue."

The guys were certainly not liking this, and they had the feeling that it would get worse. Of course the feeling wouldn't leave Inuyasha, no matter how hard Kagome tried to convince him that it was nothing. But the way Sango and her kept on giggling every once in a while really bothered him.

After about five hours wandering, they finally decided to set camp. They ate a bit, even though it was already past midnight, and then they stretched their bedding on the ground, Kagome and Sango placing theirs quite close. Miroku sat by a nearby tree, on which Inuyasha was sitting, and both observed the girl closely. They just kept on talking and giggling for a while, until they fell asleep.

"Ne, Miroku," Inuyasha said jumping down and landing beside him. "What do you think is up with them?"

"I don't know, but they are certainly giggling like mad, something they never do."

"It's so annoying. . ."

"Well, I am actually quite thrilled to see Sango behaving like that."

When Miroku gave one of his wicked grins Inuyasha smacked him over the head.

"Stop being a lecherous monk," Inuyasha said. "I mean it really."

"Sorry. I mean, it's suspicious, I kinda wished they would behave like usual. This is really starting to scare me. Can't you hear what they giggle about most of the time?"

"No, I can't they are whispering too softly and my ears can't catch it."

"Damn. . . what if they are really making fun of us?"

"Bitches. . ."

"Inuyasha. . ."

"It's true! They have nothing to be talking about us! Maybe about you, but not about me!"

"Ohhh, you think so? I'll tell you what they can say about you!"

"Dare to do it."

"Don't try me!"

"Would you two please shut up?" Kagome asked. "We're trying to sleep here!"

"Yeah," Sango said, "if you want to have your manly battles go somewhere else."

"We have to stand watch. . ." Inuyasha said.

"We're sure Kirara can do it," Kagome said.

Both men looked over to where Kirara was, sleeping curled around Shippou.

"Yeah, right, that fire cat won't wake up on time if a youkai shows up," Inuyasha said.

"Then, stop bugging."

Inuyasha looked sourly at Kagome, who simply rolled over and fell asleep again.

"Keh!"

The next few days weren't any better for the hanyou and the monk. The girls kept on disappearing quite constantly when they were resting, asking them to please stay away, and by now it was just getting too weird. They hoped it would end soon.

"Do you think they're planning something evil?" Miroku asked.

"Wouldn't be surprised," Inuyasha said.

"At least something's good."

"What?"

"They've grown quite close, almost like sisters."

"What's so good about that?"

"Baka. . ." Shippou whispered, but was not heard.

"Those two are definitely up to something," Inuyasha muttered, "and I somehow don't want to know. Their giggles are bad for my ears."

"And for my mental health. They are so close together that I haven't had the chance to grope Sango, not even once, in a week!"

"So what?!"

"I need that to stay mentally healthy. . ."

"Keh!"
