InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Bear Trap ❯ Chapter 1
This is for my good friend and my darling co-writer who thinks that there are not enough stories with Naraku, Sango and Sess. So this is for Swissnights!! Hope you like the first part my friend!!
Everyone is acting way out of character... Just for you to know...
The bear trap
Sango was once again walking trough the woods, searching for the small animal traps. She hated it when people snared cute little fuzzy animals in those vicious traps. So she would sneak out at night and destroy the traps and freeing animals that had been caught already. She ventured further and further away from the village where she lived. Her eyes, trained to see in the darkness made it easy for her to spot the traps.
Sango worked for hours and stopped only a few times when she needed a rest. She looked at the moons passing in the sky and she knew it was time for her to head back to the village if she wanted to get back before anyone missed her. But as she turned she heard snarling and growling coming from a hole in the ground. She walked closer, feeling a bit uneasy. She knew there was a bear trap, but she had not seen any bears around these parts of the forest for a very long time. "So what have been caught in that trap tonight?" she wondered and silently walked towards the hole. The snarling became louder and more menacingly. "Gods, what the hell is in there?" her heart fluttered. But when she came four feet away the snarling stopped and a dead silence was evident. "I am not going in there that is for sure, but I could perhaps try and move a large branch or something into the hole, making some kind of ladder for the animal to climb up on?" She looked around and saw the trunk from a dead tree. "That will do just fine I hope."
Sango managed to pull the tree towards the hole and she tipped the end over the edge, making it slide down to the bottom of the pit.
Then she ran to the nearest bush to hide, waiting to see what kind of animal that would come up. She willed her body's racing heart to calm down. She was going to get in so much trouble for this, but she could not stand to see animals trapped, it did not matter if they were dangerous animals.
Sango did not now how long she sat there hiding behind the bush, but soon her day's hard work and her nightly adventure caught up with her and she fell asleep, waiting for the animal to make use of her little rescue ladder.

The two demons looked at each other and then towards the tree that had been shoved into the hole. Was this some kind of cruel joke? They were trapped in a hole which bottom was covered in special wards to keep them from jumping out. Sesshoumaru's face lit up when he grabbed hold of a branch and heaved himself up. He could move, he could get out. He motioned the other demon to do the same and it worked for him as well. How they ended up in the hole in the first place was rather embarrassing to them both. Being a drunken demon brothers and walking through unknown territory was not the brightest of ideas.
- Who did this? asked Naraku.
- I have no idea, but who ever it was it was female. I can still smell her, said Sesshoumaru.
- She is close by?
- Yes, she is.
- It is soon dawn and the village people will come and look up their traps. We should get out of here before they arrive, said Naraku.
Sesshoumaru nodded and took a few steps towards a bush. He looked behind and saw a young woman sleeping on the forest ground.
- I have found our little rescuer, she is here, sleeping, said Sesshoumaru.
Naraku came over and saw the sleeping figure.
- She will be punished if we leave her here. The others will never forgive her for letting out two demons.
- Then we will take her with us, said Sesshoumaru.
- Yes, that is a good idea.
Sesshoumaru picked up the sleeping girl in his arms and made sure she was tucked in safe as he rose to the sky using his magic. Naraku was not far behind, following his brother back to their castle.

Sango moaned as a string of sunlight warmed her face. "I don't want to get out of bed yet." She thought, she knew what was waiting for her as soon as she got up. The daily chores and they were hard work. With another moan she managed to open her eyes. It took her a few moments before she realized that she did not recognized the ceiling and a few sweeps with her eyes around the room told her that she was not in her home. Panic began to flow through her mind as she slowly rose from the warm bed. "Sheets made out of silk, carpets on the floor, tapestry on the walls. Where the hell am I?" she asked silently. Her fear grew in strength when she saw that her clothes were gone, replaced by a silky night gown. "Where ever I may be I am getting the hell out of here." and with that she walked over to the window and opened it. Her hopes was crushed when she saw that she was inside a house, but the house was located high on a mountain. "What am I am supposed to do now?" Sango felt hot tears run down her face as she stumbled back to the bed to sit down. She gasped in horror when the door slide open and she saw two figures stand in the door way.
- W-who are y-you? A-and where am I? stammered Sango, fear and panic seeping into her every poor as she looked at the two utterly gorgeus males in the door way. The one on the right was dressed in a pure white kimono with a red sash tied over his stomach, his long silver white hair flowed all the way down to the back of his knees, his golden eyes seemed to penetrate her very soul. The other one was dressed in a dark purple kimono. His long black hair was an untangled mass of locks and curls, washing down his back, his red eyes made Sango's heart flutter with something she never had experienced before, lust.
- My name is Sesshoumaru and my brother's name is Naraku. You are at our castle, said Sesshoumaru and smiled a bit when he saw the young female check them out, from top to toe.
- How did I get here?
- You rescued us did you not? asked Naraku.
- I… I did? Sango was confused, she had no memory of saving them at all.
- You were the one to put the tree into the bear trap thus saving us from a humiliating end in the hands of the humans who built the trap, said Sesshoumaru and took a few steps into the room.
Sango backed up in the bed until she reached the back wall. She grabbed the sheets and pulled them close in a desperate act to cover her self and protect her against them.
- We brought you here because we feared that the humans would punish you for letting us gain our freedom, said Naraku and followed Sesshoumaru into the room.
- Why did you put the tree into the hole young female? asked Sesshoumaru.
- I… I thought it was an animal trapped down there.. a-and I hate to see animals trapped, whispered Sango and saw them take even a few steps closer to her.
- You never took a real look inside the pit? asked Naraku, surprised that she would try and rescue something she had no clue what so ever what it was.
Sango nodded, not daring to lie to them.
- You do this to other animals? Saving them from death?
- Y-yes, I go out when e-ever I can at n-night and destroy the t-traps and free any a-animal t-that have been caught in them, she whispered.
- I think I might reconsider my opinion about humans. There are a few with pure hearts, smiled Sesshoumaru softly.
- I am inclined to agree with you Sesshoumaru-kun, said Naraku. - This young female has a very pure and kind heart inside her body.
- Are you hungry my dear? asked Sesshoumaru.
- … Huh? …
- Hungry? You must be, it is late afternoon and I bet you did not have much to eat yesterday, said Sesshoumaru.
She nodded and saw the silverhaired male clap his hand and an old maid appeared in the doorway.
- Bring food for our young guest, he ordered and the maid nodded in response and disappeared again.
- What is your name girl? asked Naraku and moved to sit down on a chair near the bed. He frowned a bit when he saw the young woman curl away from him, but when Sesshoumaru sat down on her other side she paled even more.
She shook her head she did not want to tell them anything.
- We can not go around and call you woman, human or girl all the time, give us a name, any name that we can use, said Sesshoumaru, again he smiled softly.
- S-sango… "How could they know if it is my real name…?"
- Sango, a very beautiful name, do you know what it's mean? asked Naraku.
She shook her head again.
- It means coral. And indeed, you are like a coral. A very pretty and hard formation with a soft inside.
- I… I am not pretty and I am n-not hard… stuttered Sango.
- Yes you are my dear. You are very beautiful and the way you defy your village by freeing animals' shows that you are tough enough to go against rules and actions that you think are wrong. That makes you hard. But the thing that makes you soft is your love for freedom. We admire and respect you for that, if you had not come along last night, we surely would have been an easy pray for the humans that hunts us demons, stated Sesshoumaru.
- DEMONS?? shouted Sango out of the blue, making both Sesshoumaru and Naraku flatten their sensitive ears.
- My dear, did you not know that we were demons? asked Naraku.
By the way she looked right now she probably had no idea that they were demons. Her dark eyes were wide and tears threatened to break their barriers. Both males thanked the gods for the old maid's appearance in the doorway with a tray of food. She brought it to the girl in the bed and she smiled widely so that her wrinkled face looked even more wrinkled.
- I thank you young miss for helping my masters, said the old maid and bowed.
- Y-you are w-welcome, stuttered Sango bewildered.
- They are not bad even if they are demons.
Sango nodded as her eyes were glued to the small feast on the trey. This was more food than she had in a week.
- Go ahead and eat miss, don't mind me, said the old maid with a chuckle.
Sango did not need more encouragement; she devoured the food with all her might. The old lady moved out from the room, leaving the threesome to their fate. She could sense the thick tension in the room, especially the one coming from Sesshoumaru and Naraku. "If she agrees we will have a new lady of the house soon." thought the old woman with a smile. "And I think this girl might be the one for them. She is strong and she has a big heart." she thought as she closed the door behind her.
Sango filled her empty stomach with the tasty food, not noticing the smiles on Naraku's and Sesshoumaru's faces. And she had finished she drank the cold water from the cup. A small burp escaped her lips and she blushed crimson red.
- S-sorry… she whispered.
- It is quite alright my dear Sango. I am glad that you enjoy your food, said Sesshoumaru and took the tray from her lap. - Do you want to go back to your village Sango?
Sesshoumaru asked the question that both he and Naraku wanted an answer to. They feared that this lovely flower of the forest would slip through their hands. Of course, if she wanted to go back they would not stop her; they were not evil demons that held females against their will.
They could have jumped in joy when she shook her head. "I have nothing to go back to. If I stay I will be married off to someone that I have no love for what so ever. But what will happen if I stay here?" she needed to know.
- No, I do not want to go back my lords, but what will happen if I stay here? she asked silently.
- We will not lie to you Sango-san; we want to stay with us as the Lady of this castle, said Sesshoumaru with his deep purring voice.
- L-lady?
- Yes.
- M-meaning? Her eyes wandered back and forth between the males.
- You will be our wife, said Naraku.
Sango felt the bed turn to a harsh sea and she felt sea sick for a moment. She began gasping for air and both Sesshoumaru and Naraku rushed to her side, trying to alleviate whatever it was that was ailing her.
- I… I am sorry… Did I hear you say that I would be the wife to the both of you? she asked still trying to catch her breath.
- Yes, said Sesshoumaru as he rubbed her back.
- Oh Gods… she sobbed.
- But if you don't want too, you are free to go. We will not hold you here against your will of course, said Naraku and moved a few black strands of hair away from her face.
"Gods, I am sitting between two beautiful looking men, caring for me as I was the most valuable treasure on earth…." She blushed deep red again and tried to calm the emotions that rushed through her system at the moment, but it was in vain. The warmth pooled inside her stomach just thinking about how it would be to be their wife. They would make love to her. Her cheeks burned even more brightly when mental images of them naked, with her, in bed."GODS…!!"
- Sango-san? Are you feeling alright? asked Sesshoumaru, but his nostrils told him just how the young woman was feeling and he smiled inwardly. And by the way Naraku looked at the girl, he had smelled the same thing.
- Y-yes, I am only a bit overwhelmed that is all, whispered Sango, trying to swallow the lump of emotions that seemed to be stuck inside her throat.
- You do not have to answer us today but please think about it. During this, enjoy your stay here, ask of anything and we will do anything in our power to do it, said Sesshoumaru.
Sango nodded, unable to answer. She saw them move away from the bed and walk over to the door.
- Anything at all Sango-san, anything, said Naraku and Sesshoumaru nodded.
And then they left her alone in the room.
"Whoa, what the hell is going on here?" was the thought that coursed through her mind as she moved down under the soft sheets again.
