Ch. 4 Hiding Something, YOU'RE LEAVING!!!

 

They ate in peace but a nervous peace. “What's on your mind” asked Kagome. “Well it's just… nothing” said Sango blushing.

 

“Oh come on you can tell me” said Kagome. “Well Im kind of nervous going to see Miroku because, after all he did move within the last month of senior year and it's been 2 years since then. I haven't been able to get him off my mind. And the closer tomorrow gets the more Im regretting going to see him. If I go I know I will fall for him again and I don't want to do that. It will just be harder to let go” said Sango hanging her head.

 

“Sango its ok you feel that way, everyone feels like that at one point in there life but you have to pull through, tell him how you feel you may find out that he feels the same way too” said Kagome.

 

“Ok I'll try” said Sango. “Well then what are we waiting for let's bring on the next surprise” said Kagome.

 

“What is it” asked Sango. “Oh nothing just a movie marathon on the huge screen TV in the living room nothing to major” said Kagome smirking.

 

“Really any movie we want to see” asked Sango. “Yeah anyone they have on demand” said Kagome. “Sweet” said Sango. “Well then what are we waiting for let's go” said Kagome dragging Sango to the living room.

 

They flopped down on the couch and Kagome grabbed the remote. The first one she grabbed dimmed the lights until they were almost off then the next one she grabbed and went to on demand then tossed it to Sango so she could have her pick.

 

“Can we watch a scary movie” asked Sango. “Yeah but I might have to get Sesshoumaru depending on how scary” said Kagome. “Oh yeah you were the one that hated scary movies” said Sango laughing. “That's me” said Kagome.

 

Sango picked the movie Stick It and about half way through Inuyasha walked in and sat on the couch. Not understanding the movie he got up and walked away. After that movie was over the girls rated it a 4 out of 5 stars and Kagome made popcorn as Sango chose the next movie. They had movie days like this often where after the movie was over they would rate the movie and if the move got a 4 or higher the person that picked the movie would choose again.

 

Once the popcorn was done she handed one of the bowls to Sango and the movie picked was The Notebook. By the end of the movie both girls were crying.

 

“That was a really good movie 5” said Kagome. “Same here” said Sango choosing the next movie.

 

She picked The Benchwarmers. After the movie was over Sango looked at Kagome and tossed her the remote not even wanting to say anything about the horrible movie. Kagome picked Underworld and they watched it. When it was over they couldn't help watching Underworld Evolution that came after it. After that they picked together Shriek 2 because the last time they watched the first one.

 

By the time they were done during the ending credits they both fell asleep. About a half hour later at some godforsaken hour Sesshoumaru walked down the stairs to see when Kagome would be going to bed and found them asleep and on demand on the screen. Sesshoumaru turned off the TV and let them sleep. Kagome was woken up by the smell of fresh coffee. She groaned and looked around. This wasn't her bedroom then again she remembered that she had Sango over and had often times woken up on couches after their movie nights. She looked at the clock perched next to the TV and it read 7:15am Kagome groaned again it was only 4am when the end credits came on for Shriek 2 and that was the last bit of time Kagome could remember.

 

She wandered off the couch to see where that lovely smell was coming from and soon found herself in Inuyasha's room.

 

“Hey I don't remember there being a coffee maker in here” thought Kagome out loud. “There wasn't I bought it” said Inuyasha. “Oh” said Kagome. “Im surprised your up you did just fall asleep about 3 hours ago” said Inuyasha.

 

“Oh did we keep you up, sorry, were just use to living alone and making all the noise we want at any hour” said Kagome. “Its fine I don't sleep much anyway” said Inuyasha pulling out the coffee. “Ok well Im going to go back downstairs and sleep” said Kagome. “See ya” said Inuyasha.

 

Kagome wandered back downstairs and flopped on the couch. As soon as her head made contact with the pillow she fell right asleep. She woke up again at 1 when she heard Sango stir. Sango opened her eyes and groaned she had to see Miroku today.

 

“Wake up we have to get you packed” said Kagome. “Mm… yeah I guess your right” said Sango rolling off the couch. Kagome started to laugh and Sango just groaned again.

 

“It's too early for this” said Sango. “Are you kidding it's 1 in the afternoon” said Kagome. “Are you serious” asked Sango. “Yep” said Kagome.

 

“I got to go get packed” said Sango. “I will help you” said Kagome. “Ok let's go then” said Sango. Sango got in her car and Kagome got in hers and they were off for Sango's apartment. Once they got there Sango pulled out a long list with everything she would need. The list said…

 

…Bathroom

Toothbrush and toothpaste

Razor and shaving cream

Conditioner and shampoo

Bath puff and robe

Body wash and lotion

MAKEUP!!!!

Girl things

That was all she had on her list. So Kagome and Sango got packing. Sango handed her a mini suitcase that zipped onto the inside of her bigger one to put the bath stuff in. Kagome got all the bath stuff ready and brought it to the room and zipped it in Sango's bag. Sango was busy packing all of her stuff in her room and shoving it into her bag. Finally Sango was all packed and ready to go she just had to find out what she was wearing today. Sango being on top of the fashion styles tried to find something hot but comfortable for her plane ride and couldn't decide so she made Kagome pick.

 

Kagome chose jeans that were ripped in several places and a camouflage top to match. Then she added a green belt with black claw marks on it to go all together with green flip flops. Sango thanked her and ran into the bathroom to use the last bit of makeup left in her bathroom. While she was in there Kagome knew she had a lot of time to do things so she decided to write Sango a note. The note said…

 

…Dear Sango

 

This is Kagome by the time you get this you will already be at Miroku's. But I just want to wish you luck and hope you have a good time. You know things work out better if you just tell people what's on your mind some of the time. Oh and remember to tell Miroku I said hi and fill him in on some of the things he missed out on. Make sure to call me when you learn anything new or if anything big happens or you just want to talk. Im always here for you if you need some advice. Oh man I feel like your mother telling you to `be safe honey' when your going on your first real trip away from home. But Im gonna miss you a lot so make sure you write me!!!

Oh p.s. here's 200 dollars make sure you use it wisely and no I don't want it back so keep it for yourself.

 

With that she folded up the note and put it in Sango's bag in her first pair of jeans making sure it was bulky enough for her to feel it. Just as Kagome zipped up her bag Sango came out.

 

“How do I look” asked Sango worriedly. “You look hot” said Kagome laughing. She finished zipping up the bag and set it on the floor by the door.

 

“Well its 3 and I got to run they probably wondered where I went by now” said Kagome. “Ok Im gonna miss you” said Sango. “Same here” said Kagome giving Sango a huge hug. Kagome walked out of the house and got into her car with a huge smile on her face `she's gonna be fine' thought Kagome speeding away.

 

She sped back home to Sesshoumaru's house and her very huge, very comfy bed. Once Kagome got there and parked her car she walked up to the house and walked into her bedroom flopping on her bed and looking up at the ceiling. Sooner then she realized she was out like a light. She woke up to a shaking on her shoulder she groaned and tried to shoo what ever was shaking her away but she was just shaken a bit more.

 

“Hmm…” asked Kagome opening her eyes meeting 2 perfect golden ones. “I was wondering if you would like to join me in the study” asked Sesshoumaru. “Ok hold on” said Kagome. She got up and grabbed the three books on dog demons and walked to the bathroom brushing out her hair and putting it up again in another high bun.

 

She walked down the stairs and walked into the study expecting it to be set up as normal but what she came upon was an utter surprise. There were little candles set up everywhere. On the window ledges, chairs, desks, the tops of bookcases, they were everywhere.

 

“Wow” said Kagome. She walked to the middle of the room where there was one couch not covered in candles. She sat down on it next to Sesshoumaru and opened a book. As she began to read she felt his eyes on her and tried to ignore it but after reading the same sentence 3 times her patience was running thin.

 

“Yeah” asked Kagome looking up to meet Sesshoumaru's gaze. “Would you like to go on a date tomorrow night” asked Sesshoumaru. “Yeah” said Kagome sweetly. “Ok” said Sesshoumaru going back to his book.

 

“What cha reading” asked Kagome? "A book on artifacts from feudal Japan, to see if what they say is true” said Sesshoumaru. “How old are you exactly” asked Kagome.

 

“I was born in feudal Japan 500 years ago, when I reached the age of 21 I stopped growing and I look how I looked 489 years ago, as you can tell by what your reading demons live forever, we are immortal unless we are killed” said Sesshoumaru in a matter of fact tone. “I see so if I were to get married to a demon or as you call it mate then I would look how I am now forever” asked Kagome.

 

“Precisely” said Sesshoumaru. “That's sweet” said Kagome smiling. “Mhm” said Sesshoumaru going back to his readings. All of a sudden Kagome started to laugh.

 

“What do you find amusing” asked Sesshoumaru. “When I look in you eyes I see joy, fright, happiness, jealousy, and love. The only thing I don't see thought, is the flame from this candle” said Kagome holding up a candle.

 

`She can see right through me' thought Sesshoumaru suddenly feeling very naked. Kagome set down the candle and stared at Sesshoumaru for a second soon after she was met by his gaze. He raised his eyebrow at her and waited for her to explain herself.

 

“Where else do you have these streaks” asked Kagome suddenly thinking through what she asked blushed and looked at her book. “Not telling” said Sesshoumaru in a non Sesshoumaru like manner. Kagome was shocked that he said something like that but just tried to ignore it.

 

She mentally smirked `mental note never tease Sesshoumaru' thought Kagome. `I wonder what Sango is doing right now' thought Kagome thinking of all the good times they shared in high school.

 

Just an hour earlier Sango was setting everything out on her floor next to her door making sure everything was there. When she went over her check list for the 4th time she was sure she had everything. Just then the door bell rang.

 

“Coming” yelled Sango. When she opened the door she was amazed at what she saw a man wearing black cargo shorts and a dark blue muscle shirt standing there. “It's been awhile Sango” said the man. “Miroku?” asked Sango.

 

“Yep” said Miroku. “Wow you look… good” `hot even' said Sango. “Thank you, I couldn't wait to see you so I decided to come see you for myself and I haven't been back here for so long. So this is my little surprise” said Miroku. “Wow” said Sango.

 

“I've missed you” said Miroku hugging Sango. “Me too” said Sango hugging back. “So what have you been doing with your life” asked Sango walking Miroku over to her couch. “Well once I went to Kyoto I found that my family had a pretty big house, not like a manner big but a big house, on the inside it was awesome the outside was deceiving it was all hard wood and stuff. But the people around there were friendly enough. But I missed you guys” said Miroku.

 

“We missed you too” said Sango getting teary. “Sango are you ok” asked Miroku. “Fine” said Sango between sniffles.

 

“I don't think it's a matter of we missed you I think it's a matter of you missed me” said Miroku flashing a lecherous grin. “Still the same old perv, its true your best talents say with you over the years” said Sango smiling. “Well I can't say that Im happy with the new environment, the women there are too strong and not as hot as they are down here, that I miss” said Miroku laughing.

 

“Typical” said Sango. “What” asked Miroku? "Oh right you didn't hear the news… Kagome and Sesshoumaru are going out, living together even, with Sesshoumaru's half brother Inuyasha who is trying to win her heart as well so it's a battle of wits and love to see who will win Kagome's heart” said Sango.

 

“Really, you mean Tashio as in Sesshoumaru Tashio” asked Miroku. “Yeah” said Sango. “She's lucky” said Miroku. “So anything big happen in your years apart from us, like a marriage or anything” asked Sango. “Nope nothing big only a big house and a few bumps and bruises how about over here any marriages or nothin like that” asked Miroku.

 

“Nope were all still single” said Sango sighing. “Good then I can do this” said Miroku giving Sango a kiss. “What was that” asked Sango after they broke apart. “What I've wanted to do since the moment I left you, I've missed you Sango I couldn't get you off my mind since the moment I stepped on that airplane to leave” said Miroku.

 

“Same here, plus some really graphic dreams” said Sango. “Yep the graphic dreams were here too” said Miroku. “That's kinda weird” said Sango. “Yeah so what do you wanna do before we leave we still have 3 hours” said Miroku.

 

“Have you eaten” asked Sango. “No just a few peanuts on the plane” said Miroku. “Oh then let's go get something” said Sango. “Ok” said Miroku. “Let's go” said Sango grabbing her keys and locking up the house.

 

She led Miroku around the back to a garage but just before she opened it the question hit her. “Hey Miroku how did you know where I lived” asked Sango. “I have sources my love, sources” said Miroku. “What else did you happen to find out about me” asked Sango.

 

“More then you would want me to” said Miroku flashing his signature grin. “Oh god” said Sango opening the garage to reveal a green jeep. They got in and went to the pizzeria. “It's been so long since I've been here we all stopped going after you moved” said Sango. “Wow I haven't had pizza since then” said Miroku.

 

“Were all weird I guess” said Sango. They ordered there pizza and talked. “I couldn't wait to see you again, after you called I called Kagome and she flipped too. Did you finish school” asked Sango. “I thought about going back to school but I decided not to, it just wouldn't be the same without you guys” said Miroku.

 

“The day after you moved when we went back to school we left your spot open at the table hoping that it was just a joke you were playing on us. But when a few days passed we realized it wasn't a joke and you were really gone. We were all so devastated” said Sango tearing up.

 

“Don't cry over me Im not worth your tears” said Miroku with a smile. “Yes you are you were one of our best friends you were the one that kept our group together and most of all you kept the school day interesting” said Sango. “Sorry I wish I didn't have to go but they said if I didn't go then they would put the house up for sale and I would lose all that money my parents wanted me to have” said Miroku.

 

“I see” said Sango as the pizza arrived. They ate in silence and when they were done Sango and Miroku got back in Sango's jeep and took a tour of the city. “See so many things changed while I was away, I remember walking up and down this street to and from school with you guys, Kagome would get home first, then Sesshoumaru, Kirara, and then our houses were right across the street from each other” said Miroku.

 

“Yeah” said Sango. “That place use to be a playground didn't it” asked Miroku. “Yeah it did but about a year ago the decided to turn it into a park” said Sango heading home.

 

They picked up Sango's bag and headed towards the airport. When they got there Sango and Miroku went through all the security things and got right on the plane. Miroku had taken the liberty to book the tickets and to Sango's surprise they were flying first class. When they found there door, because it was first class it was rooms not rows of seats, they walked in setting all their luggage inside the door. When Sango turned around she was shocked there was a little table, a bathroom, a TV, and a bed all in that little room.

 

“Wow how did you afford all this” asked Sango. “I didn't spend all that time away from you guys for nothing you know” said Miroku. “I see so your rich now, man am I the only one not living some where expensive” asked Sango. “Well feel free to stay for as long as you want” said Miroku.

 

“You sure you mean that” asked Sango. “Yeah 110% sure” said Miroku. `Wow I feel like it's old times, like how it was 2 years and 2 months ago when he moved. It makes me sad to remember all the good times we all shared and to remember them when I see his face or hear his voice. It makes me happy thought too to think that Im going to make all new memories now, again like before' thought Sango with a smile flopping down on the bed. Sooner then she realized she was asleep.

 

All of a sudden Kagome started to laugh. “Hmm…” asked Sesshoumaru looking at her weird. “I just realized that I think you like me more now then you did in high school it's like you're more open to me now” said Kagome. Sesshoumaru just smirked and kept on reading.

 

“What do you find that weird I speak my mind a lot” asked Kagome. “No” said Sesshoumaru shutting Kagome up. “Sure you don't, then what's that look for” asked Kagome. “Nothing” said Sesshoumaru. “Whatever” said Kagome continuing to read her book. `I want you to be happy, I want you to laugh a lot, but most of all I want you to be you' that saying all of a sudden popped into her head.

 

Before Kagome knew it she felt a tear slide down her cheek and hit her book. Kagome was shocked to say the least. It was rare that she thought of her mother and even more rare thought of her favorite saying. Kagome put her book down on the floor and wiped away a tear. The second Sesshoumaru smelled tears he set his book down to look at Kagome sitting next to him. After Kagome didn't stop crying Sesshoumaru couldn't take it anymore so he moved her like a rag doll onto his lap and put his arms protectively around her. Kagome flipped over and without even meaning to wrapped her legs around his waist and cried into his shoulder.

 

“What is wrong Kagome” asked Sesshoumaru after she was done crying. “It's nothing important” said Kagome not moving and enjoying Sesshoumaru's embrace.
