InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The call of destruction ❯ The practice ( Chapter 2 )
Maeghan was up at the crack of dawn, and she met Rin in the practice field.
They were all trained in the areas of Bow and Arrow, Crossbow, Short, long and Broad Sword, Shields…and more. Of course, what ever they chose, they stuck with.
Maeghan was the only one who flipped between choice of weapons. She chose her magic mostly, but if she happened to be right beside someone, she would use her nun-chucks.
She and her sister were practicing hand to hand, some martial arts, nun-chucks, and daggers…all of the good stuff.
Maeghan watched her sister, as they both bowed to each other, and Rin hastily tried to get down Maeghan's defense. Rin was the youngest, Maeghan oldest…She was the teacher of her sister. She was triplet of Kagome and Sango…Rin was the last child. Maeghan smiled at her younger sister and decided to be easy on her. She put up a guard, and immediately saw a weak point in Rin's defense. Rin got a rap on the head as a reminder.
Rin flinched, it cost her as Maeghan again lashed out and gave her sister another rap. This time, Rin was on the guard, she made a few lightning punches, then went into a high kick. Maeghan, anticipating this, went into a lox kick, knocking Rin off her feet.
When Rin fit the ground, she had two daggers in her hand. She blocked Maeghan's next rap to the head.
Maeghan grinned as she pulled out her nun-chucks.
Rin had throwing daggers, and would have embedded them in Maeghan's chest, if Maeghan was not quick and blocked, but her nun-chucks (A/N nun-chucks are the thing that Ninjas use, they are basically two pieces of wood, connected by a metal chain) rapped Rin in the hands.
Rin withdrew as Maeghan smiled.
"Are you giving up sister? Ready for a critique already?" Rin nodded.
"Yes."
"Good…first, do not be hasty. Force me into making the first move, so then you can find my weakness. In a war, you know that your enemy will be hasty and clumsy. Unless he or she is a skilled fighter, in which case…put up your defense immediately. It would be best if we had started with daggers, but hand to hand is always useful, right?" Maeghan then paused and caught the arrow that flew by her head.
"Kagome! Why are you shooting arrows at me?" Maeghan yelled.
"You should stop beating up on Rin!" her sister came out of the shadows.
"Fine…can you beat me in hand to hand though…if you will, I will allow you to accompany me the next time I tutor our sister."
"If not however, you should really hold your tongue…" With this, Maeghan got in a punch.
"Hey…that's not fair." Kagome struck, but Maeghan blocked in time.
"In war, nothing is fair." Maeghan grinned as she quickly saw plenty of weaknesses in her sister's defense. Feigning out, she flipped forward, rapping Kagome on the head twice, before landing.
"You know I'm not as good at hand to hand as you or Sango!"
"I know…I just have a quickest ability to learn and perfect!" Maeghan grinned again. This time, Kagome aimed a low kick at her sister, trying to knock her off balance.
She half succeeded her sister fell backwards…into a flip. Maeghan then decided to pack the final punch, kicking her sister hard enough so that she would fall over. Maeghan then put a foot over her windpipe.
"I win." She declared.
"Sango…what about a match?" she called, knowing the fourth sister loved a challenge.
Sango smiled as she stepped out.
"Not now, though…we are going to get some boys!" Maeghan grinned, since she sensed some guys approaching.

Inu Yasha was well rested, but he needed practice. Taking out his sword, he saw the eldest, Sesshomaru do the same. They saluted, then were off.
Sesshomaru was forced into the first strike. He connected the swords with a loud crash, then bore down on his brother until Inu Yasha rolled away.
Inu Yasha this time went around his brother's sword, but Sesshomaru was too fast. Seeing Inu's idea, he quickly blocked, then knocked his brother with the blunt side of his sword.
Inu Yasha had sweat dripping down as he once again lunged in, trying to offset his brother.
Sesshomaru was quicker again. He maneuvered his sword so that he sidestepped Inu's, then he lunged in for the kill, tripping Inu Yasha and positioning his sword at the base of Inu's throat.
"You're getting better brother. You are becoming more patient, yet you still are too hasty." Sesshomaru smiled, "That is all." He then felt something cold and metallic on his neck.

Maeghan drew her own sword, and came from behind.
"It's not nice to beat up on younger siblings…how about I teach you something?" Maeghan then motioned for him to drop his sword, as she dropped hers.
"You get the first move…" She smiled, not knowing if he'd fall for her trick.
He did. He lunged in, as she sidestepped, and tripped him, helping him fall over her hip.
He tried to bring her down with him, but she withdrew her legs from his reach.
"You getting up?" She grinned as she rapped his temple…a pressure point.
That sped ol' Sesshomaru as he jumped up and immediately made another move. He punched at her chest, but she blocked, and bore down on him, with such strength that he rolled away (A/N No, he isn't using demon powers).
Then she saw an opportunity, launching a rapid fire of kicks, he caught him in the stomach several times before he surrendered.
"Believe me you needed that." She grinned at the breathless Sesshomaru, before she helped him up.
"Rin! Help him get his breath back!" Maeghan called.
Her youngest sister worked on the dazed Sesshomaru as Maeghan faced the rest of the boys. Inu Yasha was sleeping and Kagome was trying to help him go back to life.
