It took me two days to write this. I guess that is good, but also bad because I had the flu when I wrote this. Sorry if it is a bit…um…weird…but that happens when you are sick and taking drugs trying to get all the symptoms go away. Enjoy!

 

 

 

Chapter Eleven (already…wow…I'm in awe…)

 

An hour after the sun rose and Inuyasha still hadn't woken up, Kagome was starting to go into panic mode.

 

She checked his wounds again for the twelfth time that morning and could see that there some skin growing around the edge of the wound. `He is healing, but why isn't he waking up?'

 

“Inuyasha…you need to wake up. I NEED you here…now…PLEASE! I don't know what to do…wake up please…”

 

Silent tears started streaming down her face.

 

 

 

“Mother? Father? Where am I? Why am I talking to you? Am I dead? Is that why I smell hell and death?”

 

“You really should have been dead from that injury you got before turning human, but some Kami decided that you should pick your own final resting place, and also, your enormous will power helped you to survive.”

 

“I have to defeat Naraku now. Of course I have to live to fight him.”

 

“Should we tell him” Inuyasha's mother asked his dad.

 

“It will help his choice…Inuyasha” began his father. “Naraku will be killed three winters from now no matter what you choose. Kikyou will be avenged as well as the other people in your pack.”

 

`My pack…they are close to me aren't they…they are like my pack. Well, of course I am the alpha male, but would that make Kagome the alpha female?'

 

“Uh..son…this is a special place. Everyone can hear your thoughts here.”

 

“Anyway..” replied Inuyasha's mother “you admitted to yourself that they are you pack and Kagome was your alpha female.”

 

“But we aren't here to tell you that” replied his father. “You have been given a chance to make a choice. This will be one of the most important choices of your life. The Kami has made the choice as clear as possible to you. It is up to you how you read this situation now and what you choose.”

 

“But father…it seems as if I'll have to go back on my word if I choose the true path I want to take. I can't go back on my word…my honor will be completely destroyed. It is one of the most precious things that I still have.”

 

“Look son. Does it really look like Kikyou really cares about that anymore?!”

 

Inuyasha peered over at Kikyou. She was glancing between himself and someone he couldn't quite make out. She seemed to be interested more in this unseen person though.

 

“Father, I still don't know…”

 

“Inuyasha. I hoped that I had taught you enough about your true heart and feelings when I was alive. I know it was hard for you when I died and you had to close your heart to be able to survive, and I also know that when you were finally brave enough to open it again, it was broken by a deceptive trick. Remember though, Kikyou did not do this….Naraku did. You owe nothing to Kikyou because she doesn't love you anymore. Also, someone else has truly opened your heart again. She has healed it and opened it more than Kikyou ever could. She has made you become and demonstrate your full potential and now you always do and show your full potential because subconsciously, in your deepest secret place of your heart, you know she deserves it. She has shown you what true love and humanity is in these warring and prejudice times. Your heart is healed and is telling you want to do. All you need to do now is listen to it more closely.”

 

“Inuyasha, your mother and I now have to go back from whence we came. We had only a short time here, and now you know that you have to make a choice. Choose wisely. This is your time now.”

 

“Remember Inuyasha. We both love you. Choose what is in your heart. It knows best. Goodbye my darling Inuyasha.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Who do you think he'll pick?”

 

“Izayoi. Do you think that it is clear that he should choose Kagome? His subconscious is showing him that Kagome really wants him and that she loves him and he will have a happy life with her. Kikyou's choice clearly shows that Kikyou is starting to fall in love again with another, and that Inuyasha will go to hell in everlasting torment if he picks Kikyou, am I correct?”

 

Izayoi sighed. “He inherited your rashness and your sense of honor, which is important, but he inherited both of our strong hearts. Eventually, his heart will rule out over his brain. He will pick Kagome. How can he not? He has admitted to himself that she is part of his pack and his alpha female at that. Of course he will pick living over dieing or the living or death itself. Although, one thing I do find interesting is that how he will feel after he finds out who will be the true person to kill Naraku. That will be the shock of his life.”

 

Inuyasha's father started at Izayoi, then burst out laughing. “Yes…that is the biggest surprise of all.”

 

 

 

 

`So, Kikyou has all but forgotten about me? Kagome loves me…she has even admitted it to herself and me out loud. I swore to go to hell with Kikyou though. Apparently, I don't even kill Naraku though, so I can't fill out the revenge for her. I still told Kagome that I would protect her…I said that very early on, and I think I meant that as a promise. She wont let me forget that either. But then there is the rest of my pack also. What would happen if I wasn't there to lead them? Kikyou isn't part of my pack, but she still has part of my heart…at least, I think she does. She must! That's why I always have to see and talk to her. But, I always go back to Kagome. I guess she does have part of my heart too. Maybe that is why it hurt so much when she told me that one time that she hated me. I need another sign. Please…what and who do I pick?”

 

 

 

 

 

“Your son has such a thick skull!”

 

A giggle resulted from Izayoi. “If I remember correctly, another certain dog demon had a thick skull. He sorted everything out eventually though.” A warm smile from Izayoi met with Inuyasha father's amber eyes.

 

“Ah. I wasn't THAT thick headed. Even though I eventually ended up in almost the same situation as Inuyasha, I still saw you as the obvious choice instead of following Sesshomaru's mother to the grave and the afterlife.”

 

“Sesshomaru never knew about that choice you had to make. He thinks that you betrayed his mother's life doesn't he?”

 

“What Sesshomaru doesn't know is that his mother never loved me. When I was in this situation, you were standing in my castle calling out to me, and there was just a sense of a warm, loving aura around you. Sesshomaru's mom…well, she wasn't calling out to anyone, and she was ignoring me. Her aura was cold…devoid of any feeling. It just felt…wrong. You were the obvious choice” said Inuyasha's father gently touching his head to Izyoia's. “I haven't regretted that decision. The only regret that I do have was that Sesshomaru was too much like his mother and I didn't get the chance to get him to remove his barrier to his heart before I died. Also, I regret that I wasn't able to talk to Inuyasha while growing up, then protect and comfort him when you died. That cannot ever be remedied though. Inuyasha still tuned out wonderfully with an enormous heart thanks to you Izayoi.”

 

 

 

“No wonder Kagome was the one to figure out I was in the pickled vegetables bucket. This dog is as goofy and thick headed as my three little monkey spirits. So…he needs another sign. Monkey sprits…do you want to attach another boulder to Inuyasha?”

 

“Oh yeah. That would be fun!”

 

“Yeah, yeah. Let's go!”

 

 

 

 

 

“THIS IS A SIGN?!” A giant one eyed monkey demon was running full speed at Inuyasha. “How the hell is this is sign?!” He ran up and punched the thing, and it turned into three smaller monkey sprites. “YOU AGAIN?!” He gave each of them a pounding to the head.

 

“We are sorry, please accept this gift as our apology” said one as he held out a stone.

 

“Not that fucking trick again! Just how stupid do you think I am?!”

 

The three monkeys huddled together. They were discussing their monkey god. “So” stated Inuyasha. “The monkey god is the Kami that put me here?”

 

“You should have died. You are the one who put yourself here!” uttered one of the monkeys.

 

“Yeah” another one piped up. “You should have been dead, but the only reason why you are here is because our monkey god, for some reason likes you, and you are too stubborn to die! “

 

“And how come haven't you picked Kagome yet? She is smart!”

 

“Yeah, yeah” the other monkeys chirmed in.

“Besides, who is that other girl? Whoever she is, she doesn't seem to pay much attention to you.” That particular monkey sprite started laughing.

 

“Well, I thought she loved me…a long time ago…”

 

“So why are you waiting here? She doesn't love you so why don't you run to Kagome?”

 

Inuyasha looked down at the monkey. “You're right…”

 

Inuyasha ran towards Kagome screaming out her name.

 

 

 

 

Inuyasha smelled tears, then opened his eyes. `Kagome was crying? Over me?' Her head was lying in Inuyasha's chest and she was griping his fire rat clothing, but she had fallen asleep. She looked as if she needed it though too.

 

Inuyasha carefully lifted her head, then rolled from under her, and lifted her up. He walked over to the cave wall and sat down again and sat Kagome in his lap while her head rested against his shoulder.

 

`This is how it should always be. I want to sleep with her next to me for the rest of my life.' Inuyasha drifted off to a peaceful sleep. This time, no nightmares. Only dreams of a hopeful future.

 

 

 

Anyone heard of the song “No more Words”? It is from the first movie. While writing the last few paragraphs and listening to this song, it made me want to cry. I am too emotional…*runs off and cries*

 

 

 

 

JoRoLa12: The best story? ::beams:: I don't think so, but I am glad you think so. Kagome, in the TV series, admits it to herself that she likes Inuyasha, but Inuyasha nor Kagome ever admits it to each other. You think that they would get over it. Everyone but them can tell that they like each other. Sorry for ranting like that, but it just gets me frustrated!

 

InuYashasLoveLorn: don't like warm and fuzzy…hmmm. How about…warm and bubbly? Or should I just say happy? To me though, happy seems overused. ::Looks in thesaurus:: hmm…delighted, gratified, elated, tickled pink (?), euphoric, exultant…out of those choices I picked, I like…elated or euphoric the most…which do you like? But yes, you should be…delighted that it makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Hehe…too much Easter chocolate…

 

shadowwolf_02: ::runs in with a pair of elbow blades, and helps kill Kikyou:: I don't like her either, but Fauna insisted on doing a Sesshomaru and Kikyou pairing, and what Fauna wants, Fauna gets (she is my made up muse by the way). Besides, I think it helps the story and adds an interesting thought into it. Umm…not that Kikyou is dead, I think Sesshomaru will come after us… *runs away and hides*
