After the strange events with Sesshomaru earlier in the day, Sango, Kagome, Miroku and our favorite half-demon headed back to Kaede's hut to return to Eri and Shippo, they were met by the old miko and Eri who were preparing breakfast for the gang.

"This place is sooooo beautiful Kagome, I can't believe you come here every week" said the now calm girl Kagome didn't answer; she just sat down near the fire and was joined by the rest of the group

Inuyasha, still standing behind. He was pissed of and he shouted at the girl "You stupid wench, you could have gotten yourself killed yesterday, I saved your life, TWICE!!!! And the only thing you say to me is get away you filthy demon"

"Inuyasha" Kagome interrupted him, seeing the terror on the girl's face but to no avail

"You better apologize to me right now or I drop you in the middle of the woods 20 ri away from nowhere" he spat

"But… bu… eh" the girl could not form any coherent word let alone apologize, she was terrified and started tearing.

"INUYASHA!!!!!!!" Kagome fumed when she saw him loosing his temper with her helpless friend

"Stay out of this Kagome" he answered "I'll deal with…"

"SIT SIT SIT SIT!!!!!" and he eat dirt; the subduing spell did not wear off until Kagome had taken her inside the hut and told Sango to make a calming tea for her friend, and for herself.

"Eri, its ok calm down your gona be fine" Kagome said,

"How can you say that when this freak is always ten feet away from you, how can you return to this place every week" the other girl answered and started to sob

"I …" she wanted to answer but was cut off

"He's dangerous Kagome he could kill you, us any time, you saw what he did to that car…" the girl stopped talking because the Taiji-ya had come in with the tea, she gave them cups, served them the drinks and went out, not wanting to disturb them.

"Eri let me talk before you finish accusing him for everything" Kagome said "Inuyasha is a hanyou, demons despise them for having human blood, and human hate them because the have youkai blood, he feels rejected and he thinks that he belongs nowhere, that he has to be all alone in his life" she continued while her friend started to feel compassion for the `filthy demon'

"When you told him he was filthy, he just remembered his youth, being called filthy by humans and youkais, he only tried to save your life, do you know what would have happened if he hadn't stopped that car?" she asked.

The other girl began to think back at the events of yesterday and realized that what Kagome was telling is the truth "I… I didn't realize that …" she paused, "I thought he came after me… I thought he was going to cut me in half like he did that car…. I have to apologize to him" she said getting up to meet him when she was stopped by Kagome

"You'll want to wait until he calms down if you don't want do become depth from his yelling" she giggled and started a new conversation with her friend about the Feudal Japan




Meanwhile outside




Inuyasha walked in circles, mumbling something every now and then when Shippo interrupted his cursing

"She called you a filthy demon" the fox kitsune asked, not waiting for his answer "Poor Inuyasha" he continued and was cut off by Sango

"What did you do for her to call you that, you didn't yell at her did you?" she asked

"No!!!!" he answered, annoyed that she thought such things "I only saved her life….. Twice!!!" he said

"And from what danger did you save her from" retorted the monk.

"One of those loud metal things Kagome calls auto-mobi-le, she says it's a means of transport" he answered "Anyways it was charging at her like a raging bull so I cut its head off with my sword and threw it off course"

"You know Inuyasha, I'm not surprised she called you that, she must have been scared enough to go in her dress at the moment, and you jump in front of her with a giant sword on hour shoulder, I can understand her motivations t call you that" the monk replied

"You should go in the hut and apologize for your rudeness" said the Taiji-ya

"Feh" he quickly replied "Beside I do not miss the taste of dirt that much, if I even approach the hut she'll sit me into oblivion" he said.


Sensing that the inu-hanyou had calmed down, Kagome and Eri went outside to see him "Inuyasha…" Eri called, "I'm sorry, Kagome told me everything, I realize now that you were trying to save my life, but I was so scared and…. But it doesn't excuse my behavior I shouldn't have called you … that" she apologized bowing her head to him

"Feh! Like I care what you think of me" he answered and everyone was shocked including Eri but Kagome whispered to her that even though he didn't let it show, he accepted her apology.

"I heard that Kagome, sometimes I really think you do forget that I have an overdeveloped sense of hearing" he grunted she blushed a little and giggled with her friend from school. "I'm hungry; I believe we were having breakfast before we were interrupted" the inu-hanyou said, still grunting. They all sat down around the cooking fire and they had breakfast, Kagome introducing Sango and Shippo to Eri, and told her more about her companion and the life she was having in this time. Inuyasha and Miroku were discussing the odd behavior of Sesshomaru.

"How do you explain your brother's behavior Inuyasha" asked the confused monk

"Since when did HE have a behavior that could be explained"

"I know what you mean Inuyasha but you cant deny the fact that this meeting with him was somewhat different from the others, usually one of you has to kick the other one's but before he leaves" he paused then continued "But this time he just got mad at you, then suddenly calmed down and went away"

"Yeah your right, not only that, it's the only time I've seen my brother lose his temper, usually he never lets his emotions get the better of him" said the half demon. Having over heard the conversation, Sango interrupted

"Why do you think your brother hates you so Inuyasha"

"I don't really know, he never really liked me, me being a hanyou and all, but I don't remember when he began to hate me" he replied "I don't think it's all because of our father giving ME Tetsuaiga…, he doesn't seem to mind now that he has a powerful sword of his own" he added. They finished their meals in silence without anyone breaking it, not even Shippo, everyone was either thinking about how Eri knowing the truth about Kagome would affect her life or about the fact that they still hadn't went shard hunting for a week, or about their encounter with Inuyasha's brother. Kagome was the first to break this silence

"Don't you think it has something to do with your father" she said to the hanyou

"Euh what's my father got to do with me and Sesshomaru?" he replied

"Well, I've been thinking, you remember when the Western Lands were attacked by those Neko-youkais?"

"You mean when my father beat the shit out of them?"

"No the time they attacked Sesshomaru and Jaken came to seek your help"

"Yeah, I remember"

"Well he did get angry then when he told you weren't there to defend your father 50 years ago so you shouldn't be here now, he was angry at the fact that you preferred the company of a human and got sealed in the process rather than to defend your family's honor" she added.

"I think Kagome is right Inuyasha" said the monk,

"It would explain why he got angry at you for bringing once again shame to your father" he added "And the fact he DID make peace with you when he said you avenged your father's blood"

"Feh! Can't we talk about something more interesting than my brother" was all Inuyasha would say to them, but none of them was offended because they knew how he hated being the subject of the conversation. Inuyasha was losing his patience; it's been almost a week since they could get any shard hunting. "We've lost enough time already. Kagome, I'll get your friend the other side of the well and we'll go shard hunting" he said as if trying to sound nice, this earned him only the protest of Eri who only wanted to see more action and to learn about this new experience.

"I don't want to go back, well not now, its still Sunday and I want to see more" she said,

"Well Inuyasha's right Eri" replied Kagome "It is dangerous here and you would only slow us down" she added

"Then it is settled, Inuyasha shall take the lady to Kagome's house and we will get ready to leave and wait until he gets back" said the monk. Inuyasha took Eri oh his back and leaped into the air to get her home.




On the other side (present day)




Inuyasha jumped out of the well with the girl on his back and was met by Souta inside the well-house. "Inuyasha!!!!" he greeted "Mom told me that if you came here, I should tell you to go back and stay there with Kagome because the police is here" the kid was agitated and tried the best he could to form coherent sentences "Euh you're Kagome's friend? What are you doing here?" he asked confused. Inuyasha did not give her time to answer

"You better try to sneak past the police without being seen, I'll go and tell Kagome" he said jumping immediately into the well. He was engulfed by the familiar purple light and found himself back in his own time. He was greeted by a surprised Miroku who thought it would take a little more time

"You sure are in a hurry to get some jewel shards today" he joked

"Feh!! I don't have time, where's Kagome" he spat

"She's over there with Sango" the monk answered pointing in the general direction of Kagome.

"Kagome!!! Your brother wouldn't let me out of the well-house, he said the police was there…" he said in a hurry when he was interrupted

"What??? the police is at the shrine???"

I know I know, it's evil to let the chapter end here but i have to, wouldn't want to spoil the suspence do we

(the real reason is that I havn't figured out how they were gona deal with the police)
