The lights come on, and cheesy opening music starts. On to the stage pops a little green imp with a two headed staff. The audience claps politely and he bows.

“Hello, and welcome to The Sengoku Jidai Dating Game!” Jaken announces. “Our contestant today is none other than Lord Sesshomaru!”

Making a grandiose gesture with his right arm, the ever reticent Taiyoukai Lord enters and sits on a stool provided for him. The look on his face is as impenetrable as ever.

“As you know, our three mystery dates are behind these Shoji doors,” Jaken says, pointing to the doors to his left with his staff.

Sesshomaru stares at Jaken. The little imp nervously wipes at his brow with a large rag and stuffs it in his robes.

“So, let's get down to business and ask the first of three questions,” Jaken says, pulling some index cards out of his robes.

“Date behind door number one,” Jaken says. “What preparations would you make for your date?”

A small voice pipes up. “I would pick some flowers for him.”

“Ahem, okay and date behind door number two, what do you say?”

“I would bring plans for killing our enemy,” a serious and sardonic voice replies.

Glancing a moment at Sesshomarus unreadable gaze, Jaken twists his staff and gulped before getting to date number three.

“What say you date number three?”

“Why, I don't need to bring anything,” the voice behind door number three purrs. “Just being with Sesshomaru is special enough, and I know how wonderful I will be for him.”

The only response, as the audience guffaws, was an eyebrow raise from Sesshomaru.

“Ah, yes, on to our next question,” Jaken stammers. “Date number one, what kind of a dinner would you expect to have if taken on a date by our contestant?”

“Oh, a campfire in the woods.”

“And number two?”

“Anyplace private and as far away as possible from where I am currently living,” number two says.
“Number three?”

“My place would be fine,” says number three. “I would make it myself, and wait on him hand and foot.”

Jaken shuffles his cards, fumbling.

“Now we are down to our final question,” Jaken says. “What are you looking for in a man, number one?”

“Someone to protect me,” she answers softly.

“Next, number two?”

“Someone powerful, the more the better for my plans.”

“Uh, and number three?”

“Oh, I think a man with long, silver-white hair, and good fashion sense like Lord Sesshomaru would be just perfect!”

“Okay, our question period for our dates is finished,” Jaken said. “Now Lord Sesshomaru will write the number of his choice on the card he was given and pass it to me.”

Sesshomaru wrote on the card, and Jaken scurried over and took it from him and cleared his voice.

“And the winner of the date with Lord Sesshomaru is….door number three!”

A squeal of delight could be heard, and the door slid open. As Jakotsu ran over and threw himself at a stunned Sesshomaru, Rin and Kagura exited the other doors. The wind sorceress snorts and stalks away while Rin looked solemn.

Then Sesshomaru levels a look to kill at the imp.

“Jaken….”

“Tune in next week when our contestant will be InuYasha!” Jaken blurts out quickly and runs away….
