The Day I Slipped Away
Chapter One-Fukai Mori
It was a quiet morning in the Feudal Era; the wind was sweeping across the green grass, the birds were singing their lovely melodies, and a certain half dead priestess was sitting by the sparkling riverside, watching as the water ran by without a second thought. It was days like these when you could just fall onto your back and stare up into the heavens, but today had a different plan for Miss Kikyo.
Sakura blossoms danced in the wind, some of them landing in her jet black hair. She absent mindedly brushed them away. There was only one thing on her troubled mind that bright summer day, and that was Inuyasha.
"Inuyasha...when will you come back to me?" Kikyo whispered, hoping her voice might travel to him and he'd hear her plea to return. Yet she remained there, alone. It had been ages since he had come to visit her. She reasoned that it was only because he wanted to gather the jewel shards so that he could become full human for her sake.
"Why don't you go find him yourself if you miss him so much?" A whispy voice called out to her. Kikyo's head jerked up as she searched the surroundings with her eyes for the source of the voice. There was no one there...but then who had said it?
"I...I don't know...I'm not supposed to give into him..." Hearing herself say this out loud, she realized how stupid of a reason this was. He was always chasing after her, yet she remained expressionless when he came. Why hadn't she gone to find him for once?
"If you want him to be yours, you better get him while he's there..." The voice whispered again. The words struck a chord in Kikyo's heart...what had it meant, while he's still there? Who else would take her beloved Inuyasha? There weren't any other women who would dare touch Inuyasha, they knew he was her property.
Kikyo's eyes widened in realization as she mulled over the words. That Kagome-what if she tried to take Inuyasha?! Kikyo angrily rose to her feet, a cascade of sakura petals falling to the ground after her.
"This time, Inuyasha, I will find you..." She whispered, involuntarily clutching the pendant that hung from her neck.

Kagome softly landed on the warm earth inside of the Bone Eater's Well. She pushed the stray hair out from in front of her eyes and adjusted the bookbag on her shoulders, getting ready to climb up the side. Before she could begin to climb however, a pale clawed hand dropped down and a figure cast a shadow over Kagome.
"Hey Inuyasha!" She said excitedly, reaching for his hand.
"You're early for once." A smile tugged at his lips as he pulled her out from the well.
"Yeah, school's over now, so I don't have to worry about studying or anything for a while. I just needed to go back for Souta's birthday."
"Ah. Well, I have a surprise for you...Miroku suggested it..." Inuyasha's cheeks began to redden as he led her down a small path leading away from the well. The trees became less dense the farther they walked and soon they were enclosed in darkness.
"Are we there yet?" Kagome asked, adjusting the bookbag once again.
"Yeah...it's right over there..." Inuyasha muttered, pointing a little bit more ahead.
They continued to walk in silence, only with the occasional sound of Kagome adjusting the bookbag.
"Ah...here we are..." Inuyasha smiled, leading Kagome to a small clearing. She'd never seen this place before...then again, she'd never seen a lot of places in the Feudal Era.
"Here? What's here?" Kagome asked, looking around timidly.
"You. And me." He answered, staring at her. She stared back, searching his eyes for more of an explanation. With a thud, her heavy bookbag fell from her shoulders onto the sweet smelling earth.

Being half dead usually meant that her senses weren't half dead too, but today they seemed to be. For some reason, she could no longer fully sense Inuyasha. She had a slight trace, but not enough. Sighing, she continued to walk around aimlessly, occasionally getting a point in the right direction by a sudden perk in her senses.
After a long tedious walk, Inuyasha's scent began to cover her. He was near! She smiled and quickened her pace, not being able to wait any longer to kiss his sweet, tender lips or rub her hands across his sot and masculine chest.
Lost in her fantasies, Kikyo suddenly found herself in a dark part of a forest. She made to turn around, but was suddenly compelled to move forward-she had found him! A shiver ran through her body as she thought of finally seeing him at last.
Pushing through the trees, Kikyo caught hold of his scent growing stronger.
"Inu-!" Kikyo began, then gasped as her hand flew over her mouth. She quickly hid behind a large tree, leaning against it for support.Tears began streaming down from her frightened eyes, slipping down her cheeks and off her face onto her kimono, where they began to soak through.
`No...I must be seeing things...' She thought to herself desperately. Clutching the tree for support, she willed herself to turn back around and face the scene once again, hoping that what she had seen before was just an illusion.
"Inuyasha..." Kagome whispered, running her hand through his long silky hair. Kikyo watched in horror, hidden behind her tree.
Inuyasha moved his head up some to look into Kagome's eyes. She closed them and moved her face forward. Their lips met in the middle, followed by their tongues in a passionate kiss.
Kagome twisted locks of his hair around his finger, pulling him closer to her. He replied by slowly parting from her face and allowing her to fall onto her back. He hastily untied the red sailor ribbon that was fastened around her neck. Once that was off, he flung it behind him and began on her buttons.
The ribbon drifted into the trees, right in front of the tear stained Kikyo. She didn't want to watch this...her lover fondling her reincarnation...and her reincarnation getting screwed by her lover...
`Inuyasha...how could you?!' She tried to speak, but could find no strength to muster her voice. `I can't watch this anymore...' She thought. She forced herself to turn away, flinching when a scream escaped Kagome.
Clutching the red ribbon, she blearily fought her way out of the forest. Kagome would pay for this...and she'd probably not even live to tell how.
